   Although not inexpensive, The Creek is the preeminent restaurant in Boerne, TX. Celebrating my 84th birthday, my wife and I had an absolutely excellent meal of Trout Almondine (with outstanding portions of fettuccine, roasted carrots, asparagus) and fabulous Key Lime Pie for dessert. The portion sizes were perfect, the lemon butter sauce terrific, and the large filet of fresh trout scrumptious. Pardon my extravagant use of superlatives, but the meal honestly requires them all! Best meal we've had in a long time.

   First time there and not a good experience. We were the third ones seated after they opened on a Saturday night and quickly learned they were out of the salmon. That happens. The wife ordered the mushroom appetizer then learned they were out of mushrooms! Our waitress then let us know there were 2 halibut left, 6 snapper and 12 of a third fish. She went on to talk of how they are under new management and no longer have Friday deliveries, which makes me question the freshness of what fish they have left? I had the filet which wasn't a good cut and cooked very unevenly. The side bearnaise sauce was very loose and way too much tarragon, I left it there with a portion of the steak. Too bad, I was looking forward to a nice dinner.

   Absolutely had an amazing dinner. We sat outside with our Australian Shepard and everyone was so accommodating. Food was amazing. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable experience.

   Hopefully just a one off night. We eat here every month and have experienced nothing but 5 star food and service. We had an early Friday evening reservation - they were not busy yet. I believe we had a new waitress as nothing seemed smooth. It was just a few little things – nothing big thus this very solid four star review. Things like getting a second drink with Dinner, forgetting our side (and then forgetting a serving spoon when it was finally delivered), pulling our bread plates too early and the general lack of seasoning, on our food – airline chicken, and filet mignon.  We did have the opportunity to meet their new manager, but decided not to bring up any issues since he and our waitress were new. We went to give him a chance to put his training in place.  We will surely give them another opportunity, and still highly recommend this restaurant - our favorite in Boerne.  We want to give him a chance to put his training in place. See you next month!

   The meatballs for an appetizer were very good. My husband had the shrimp tempura said it was wonderful. I had the lobster Mac and cheese it was ok but the beet salad was really good. Dessert was the crème brûlée and it was ok. The service was mediocre. We had to ask for bread were others had it quickly and our water was never refilled.

   As always, we’ve never had a bad meal at the Creek. Escargot as always was great, Poblano soup excellent, French onion soup excellent, Filet was phenomenal, Blacken Halibut and Shrimp excellent, espresso martinis excellent. Joel the waiter Phenomenal!!!

    Service was sub-par and the food matched. We ordered the torched Brie for an appetizer, sounded absolutely delicious, wasn’t warm. Entrée’s the Bronzino, there was no color to the dish, looked looked like steam fish, with a very thick sauce over the top. The “rack of lamb” wasn’t a rack only 4 small pieces. Nt great jared mint jelly. Potatoes Gratin, they were grey looking, dry and under seasoned. The menu looks and sounds great, such a shame the people executing did not represent it well.
