About The Distillery Bar + Kitchen
The Distillery Bar + Kitchen opened in the Spring of 2013 serving up straight forward Italian-American style dishes and boozy handcrafted cocktails. The menu was developed with an emphasis on sourcing local ingredients, taking the time to make products from scratch and being inspired by the way that ‘Mama used to make it’.
The restaurant hosts a long 30 person communal table ideal for large groups, family-style dining or getting to know your neighbour. Guests can also pull up a stool at the restaurant bar which looks on to the fully open kitchen for an interactive experience, or sit outside on the heated patio to people-watch with a bottle of wine and flavourful pasta.
You may reserve seats online for a maximum of six guests. Please note that due to the style of our restaurant service parties of 4 or more may be sat at a communal dining table. Cheers!

The Distillery Bar + Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
Brunch here was not that great. The bottom-less mimosas were meh, and the food was oily and just okay.
This was our first time enjoying brunch at The Distillery. They have a $10 menu, which has a good selection. Overall our dining experience was great and we look forward to coming back!
Wonderful as always. Great room. Great food. Great service. Rob and Masimo were attentive and fun. Who knew a Negroni Boulevarde could be that good. Or that a carnivore would enjoy a Pear Gorgonzola Fettuccine. No matter what, end your meal with the gelato drizzled with olive oil. Nicely done. See you again soon.
We had a male server, tall, with shorter grey/whitish hair. He was initially very polite and knew the menu and drink specials well.
Our food was brought to our table and I had almost finished my first mimosa when our server came to our table to check in. He stood completely behind me, facing my friend who was sitting on the bench seating on your patio, and then proceeded to place both of his hands on both of my shoulders. I immediately froze, as did my friend, and at that time tried not to freak out and cause a scene in your restaurant. My friend could tell that I was not okay with him touching me and that I had immediately changed my energy. She got up right away and spoke to your hostess who I am guessing asked another male server to attend to us as the initial server did not return.
I say this in a very respectful way - our initial server's mannerisms and loud tone did give us the idea that there may be a social interaction barrier. Regardless, we appreciated how polite he was and the quick service. But, touching a guest is clearly inappropriate and it immediately ruined my dining experience. As a woman, having a man place his hands anywhere on me without warning or asking is an easy way to heighten someone's anxiety level or bring fear. The situation could have went a lot worse if I was not able to control how I responded to him touching me.
I always schedule my brunch meeting with my close friends to network with them and new women at your restaurant. I cannot say if I will do that again in the future.
I have also emailed the restaurant a longer detailed message
The ambiance is great! Ideal place to meeting a special friend.
They also have happy hour, which is a plus! Highly recommended!
Yummy cocktails and tasty food. Had a lovely seat on the patio. The music got a little loud for conversation but otherwise really enjoyed our time.
The food was tasty, service was attentive, the ambience is good, the only thing is the potion of all dishes are tiny. For $25 a main course seems a bit too small portion. If the portion size is 50% larger it would be ideal.
P.s. The tipping jar in the washroom seems a bit too much for a casual dining restaurant.
The food was delicious - some of the best Italian I've had. Although I felt it was a little pricey I really enjoyed my meal. The restaurant decor is cool, modern and I especially liked the washroom. I would eat here again if back in the area.
Happy hour food and drinks on a Friday night were just what we needed! $5 highballs 3-6
Excellent Rissotto! Pasta is fresh tasting. Recommend the meatballs as a starter. Rosé is also fairly priced and matches up well on a hot night. Sitting outside preferred.
We enjoyed some exceptional cocktails at the Distillery Bar, including an innovative concoction called the Screaming Viking. Highly recommended!
Feels like a happening place in New York. Love the cool circular booths, nostalgic music of the crooners, attentive friendly server and the added touch of the maitre de.
Attentive to all our requests and super friendly place. Loved it!!!!
Great return visit to The Distillery, the perfect venue to catch up with an old friend. Our server was spot on, available & friendly but not intrusive, and the flat bread with figs hit the spot. Will return.
This was a very pleasant place on a lively street with lots of options. Great place to br.
Food and service were OK. The best is the ambience.
Had a really nice brunch on the sunny patio. All the brunch options are $10... generous potion sizes... attentive and friendly service!
Excellent brunch and service. Will come back again
Came here with two girlfriends on a warm Saturday evening. We were looking for a patio to enjoy some cocktails and great food. We got this here, and our server who was originally from Brazil was brilliant. Great drink and food recommendations, she was attentive without being invasive. All in all, a fun night!!
Soup was awful. Way too salty no one can drink that.
Went for a weekend brunch - they have a $10 breakfast menu which is decent food for what you pay for, $3 mimosa if you order a breakfast item or $10 for bottomless mimosas. The mimosa is mostly soda and OJ, again what you pay for. So all in all, good value, nothing fancy but great atmosphere, beautiful decor, great service. Loved the 1960s feel. Suggest it for going out with friends, casual dates and catch-ups.
Great place for brunch on weekends
Our waiters were really nice. Thanks. However my spaghetti with meatballs was less than mediocre. The meatballs were not even that warm and the pasta seemed chopped up like for a child. Sadly, I think we would have much better meal at Earls. For $20 this was pathetic.
Great food and awesome value. I really enjoyed having a good easy get together with friends with the light tones of Sinatra playing in the background.
Amazing place for happy hour. Special pasta $10 on Sunday's.
Service is amazing !! Patio is great!!!
Great happy hour. Good ambiance. Lyon want to enjoy their Brunch at $10 all of them and/or happy hour.
Service is outstanding by the servers, managers could do a little effort.
Service quality was hit and miss. The server wasn't rude but didn't go out of her way. Had to ask for things like the dessert menu when none came our way after we were long done dinner. When they took away our appetizer plates, they Asked us to remove our dirty cutlery off our plates and use them again, which was odd since they were clearly crusted with sauce and not usable again. She want rude, I would say she was indifferent and not enthused to be helping us. The food was great though and so were the drinks. Would come again but suggest you not come for the service. They need a lot of work in that dept or some better customer service training for the servers.
We went based on reviews. It was amazing! Gluten free pasta was very well prepared. It is an art! The meatballs were just the right size. The real gem here are their house made vodkas. Try the espresso it is so unique. Big open kitchen, bar has club chairs and unique cocktails. We took a cab from Downtown and walked back it was so easy!
No more "all you can drink mimosas!" Very disappointed (as we'd heard about it and that was why we went there) Also, they were mostly juice and not a lot of champagne. You're better off spending more to get the bubbly and asking for a side of ok.
We had a bad start to our meal due to waitress error but we were wowed and impressed with how management reconciled the issue. He personally took care of us and made the evening fantastic. We are regulars and will continue to be. It's not only your incredible food but attention to detail of customer experience that brings us back. Thank you again for another lovely and memorable family meal.
The Distillery is one of my favourite spots to eat and drink in Vancouver! The staff are always friendly and accomodating, the food is always scrumptious, the cockatils are outstanding, and the ambience is one-of-a-kind. One can't help but want to dance to the electro-swing jazz music or get lost in time watching one of the old Hollywood glamour films that they play on the TV screens. I highly recommend The Distillery for any occasion!
Cane here for the first time for dinner on Saturday. We were so impressed with the level of service. Our waiter and server were attentive and ensured our dining experience was enjoyable. We loved the food. I had the spaghetti and meat balls, hubby had salmon in a bag and our friends had the half chicken and the pasta with prawns- amazing!! We will definitely be back.
Great service. Amazing food! We got the risotto balls and chickpea fries as well as a Gorgonzola and pear pasta dish. Fantasic!
We had such a great time. Us 5 gals get together as regular as our schedule fits and we chose this restaurant as part of Dine Out. We will be sure and come back another time. The waiter was so patient and accommodating for us! Thank You!
Just happened to reserve here on Sundays and they have a great $10 pasta deal (any of their pastas are $10)! Also happy hour red wine is a nice cab merlot for $5. Great deal! Excellent friendly service. We'll be back.
We booked a table for the Dine Around menu. There seemed to be some confusion around our reservation but they ended up sitting us at a table that had a later reservation and told us we'd have to vacate the table before the other party got there. We agreed because there was a ton of time but it wasn't handled very elegantly especially considering that we'd booked a reservation ourselves.
Anyway, great classic drink menu, nice choice of courses for the dine around menu (we hadn't known that it was an Italian menu before we arrived), very well prepared and prompt service. A nice old school interior of brick and wood with a moderate noise level appropriate for a family meal.
We'd recommend as everything was top notch except for the small misunderstanding around our reservation up front
A delightful brunch experience. A nice ambiance, great service, and a good meal.
Super setting and unique atmosphere! Great for a birthday dinner, food prices are reasonable in comparison to other restaurants around the area. Very friendly staff.
Always have a wonderful time! Simply great! Love the atmosphere. Great for evening drinks! Fabulous for weekend brunch.
The Host was not attentive; a waiter arrived & asked us where we like to sit... we told him we have a reservation. He some how took of & start talking to the host & someone else 10 feet away ignoring us completely for several minutes, he didn't even excuse himself.
Then another waiter felt bad for us & he came to our rescue, he was nice & took us to a table. Then that same waiter who ignored is came back with our water & accidentally spilled a whole glass of water on our table & said, "WATER WON'T KILL YOU!"
WTF WAS THAT?!?!?!?!? NO CLASS!!!!!
Our waitress though was Excellent!!!!!
We put a huge complaint with the manager!
Hope he straightened this with that waiter.
This place is a 10! Highly recommended for brunch! $10 for bottomless mimosas, $10 brunch items, you can't go wrong, all the dishes are fantastic! And for dessert, the vanilla bean gelato with olive oil and sea salt is superb! The servers are funny and quick to refill your mimosas, my glass was never empty! Go to The Distillery! You will not be disappointed!
