Our Victorian Tea Room and English delicacies are fit to be enjoyed by guests who appreciate regal treatment with an imaginative twist.
Food was so so, horribly overpriced, when we were there - the noise level from children was deafening. There were three ladies next to us who packed up and left. Furniture is uncomfortable and weathered I would not recommend it, nor would I come again. Very dissapointing
Was a wonderful treat for mother daughter day and the celebration of turning 80. Would have been absolutely perfect except for the table of yelling children that arrived but luckily we were finishing up and leaving. Food was lovely and the tea was fabulous. Would recommend this experience for sure.
There is some flys around the table that’s 3 star for ambiance. Otherwise , I will give 5 star. The flyes bother a lot while enjoying the tea time. Again , Nice service.
We have been coming to the Prince of Wales Tea for years now and it never disappoints.
Lovely high tea. The dairy free option (requested in advance) was great.
A must! Delicious goodies. We made it our lunch. Service impeccable.
This is the third time I visit the Drawing Room. Its one of my favorite places to visit while at Niagara on The Lake. I brought a friend that was visiting from Argentina. She had a wonderful time and loved the delicious teas and pasties. She said will definitely come back to visit next year with her husband.
We were promptly seated at our reserved table and the service was very good . We opted for the set afternoon tea and and the selection of teas was excellent. There were a variety of sweet and savory treats, however no variations on the sandwiches for one of our group, as they were pre made. My own special dietary need was taken care of very well though. We would recommend the overall experience and hope to return again.
a great experience, food is good and service is excellent.however at $42 per person'it's a bit overpriced. The high price will prevent me from returning.Otherwise,I would be a regular at high tea.
I have tried a couple of high tea venues in the GTA and was hoping for more from this one. We really enjoyed the scones and tea - these were excellent. The ambiance was great too. However the sandwiches and pastries tasted store-bought and average (at best). A word of caution on the service and this may be a one-off experience, particular to our table: unfortunately our server was displaying signs of attitude (eye rolling and facial expressions as she left the table). This is sometimes expected based on my ethnicity but I was expecting more from this establishment as a popular tourist spot.
Great potential with the perfect ambiance, but was expecting a little more!
An elegant and relaxing environment, with beautiful flowers and furnishings. Service was top-notch - our server was polite, attentive, and detail oriented. Food and tea was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our mother-daughter celebration.
I enjoy bringing special friends or family. It’s always lovely!!
I love tea rooms, The Drawing Room is in a category all its own. The attention to detail was clear as soon as you step into The Prince of Whales Hotel one is surrounded by stain glass and beautifully framed pictures down the corridor. The hosts were most gracious and the various tables were dressed with fresh roses everywhere and the soft lighting set the tone for what was next. I could not stop smiling worth the price which was more than fair. Everything we ordered was savoy and filling. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
We had the Afternoon Tea service for my birthday (I'm a tea gourmand, so this was a treat for me). We arrived much earlier than originally planned and were prepared to kill the time outside but decided to ask and were very happy to be accommodated. The tea selection is excellent - I went with Darjeeling 2nd Flush (which is a premium tea and has $8 surcharge but was totally worth it). My husband enjoyed a very good Earl Grey, which is included into their regular selection. The sandwiches and pastries were very nice (we liked some more than the others but there was so much food that it was easy to pick and choose). It is pricey but for a special occasion, it was a lovely way to spend the afternoon (and we skipped the dinner :-)
Great food, service and atmosphere! Tea could have steeped longer though - but an overall excellent experience!
Delicious teas and food. Beautiful historical setting. Lovely way to spend a few hours in Niagara on the lake.
We did have a reservation but still had to wait 20 minutes, also requested a particular table for visit, but not given. Overall the experience was great
It is truly a wonderful experience dining in the The Drawing Room.
Staff is always courteous and knowledgeable.
Ambiance is exceptional and transports you back in time to an era of beauty.
Restaurant was running late and we had to wait nearly half an hour for a reservation. Once we got our food no one came back for an hour. Ambiance is ok, but the all white walls are a stark contrast to the classic Victorian hotel and feel out of place.
Tea in the Drawing Room is always amazing, better than anywhere else I’ve tried it. We drive from Mississauga to go there often, and tea is usually part of the activities. The food is amazing and plentiful, ambiance is great and the service is top notch! A must do in NOTL.
I highly recommend this afternoon tea experience. It’s my favourite in Ontario so far! :)
Excellent service as always! Will definitely return. Food was delicious! Atmosphere fantastic.
We arrived on time and were told our table was not ready and we were kept waiting for 25 minutes.
I have had afternoon tea at many locations but I was disappointed with the choice and taste of several of the items.
Overall, high tea at The Prince of Wales is a lovely experience, and we have enjoyed it in the past. This time, however, the sandwiches were very pedestrian: tuna salad, cream cheese and cucumber, and ham and cheese. For over $40 per person, we expect something like smoked salmon, curried chicken, and rare roast beef sandwiches. The scones were delicious, as were the pastries, and the tea selection was very good. Service can be slow, but if you are not in a hurry (or really hungry) that shouldn't be a problem. Strangely, the doors were locked when we arrived for our noon reservation, and we weren't shown to our table until about 10 minutes later. Still, it's a pleasant experience while in Niagara on the Lake.
Although High Tea is a bit pricey, it is worth the experience. We save it for special occasions - this time our anniversary and a visit from our granddaughter.
Server took a while to bring our tea to us and when the food did arrive, it was mediocre at best. Ambience was pleasant but quality of food and service left much to be desired.
A lovely treat for our group of ladies. Beautiful drawing room. Gorgeous fresh roses on mantles added to the ambiance. Service from a pleasant, informative, well trained hostess. Delectable tea and pastry choices.
If it were just a just a tad more affordable we could indulge more often.
The staff were wonderful- friendly, helpful and prompt. Food was excellent. Love it here!
This was our 4th time here and this was the the best time that we have ever had. Our server was Grace and she was very attentive and made the experience just so special
Lovely tea room.
Absolutely the best high tea we have had. We have tried many in Canada and abroad including the U.K but this one was fantastic . Many thanks.
Such a delight!!!! I go about once every two years and it never disappoints!
We come here for afternoon tea each year to celebrate Mother’s Day, only we come in June or July when it’s not as rushed. We’ve been doing this for 7 years and always return to the Prince of Wales since no other venue is comparable. The food, tea, service, ambiance and price is outstanding compared to other suggested venues we’ve visited in the past. Furthermore, the scones, sandwiches, clotted cream, jams, sweets are traditional afternoon tea offerings, unlike other venues which offer an Americanized menu for afternoon tea. We will be back again next year!
I took my 19 year-old daughter for high tea before she goes back to college. What a wonderful experience; the decor, setting, ambiance, food So glad that we did it. What a special memory.
Very good food. One of the best I have had so far. I liked the sweet as it was not too sweet! The savoury was good too but selections were very limited. However, based on price ($36) I can’t complain. I would do it again especially when I have guests in town. It’s a nice “tourist” trip with a great high tea experience! Highly recommended!
Although this is a beautiful hotel with charm and the staff is friendly, I would not recommend the hotel for high tea because the overall quality of the food is not worth the money. The tea itself was good and the desserts were tasty, but the sandwiches were so bland! I have been to high tea at 4 different places and these sandwiches were by far the worst I have tried. I was dining with 2 other people who also felt the same way. We didn't even finish most of them. They also serve a scone with cream and jam and I really liked that, but my friend said that at a simpler tea place she had one that was much better. However, the highlight of the tea service for all of us was the cheese plate that we added on. The cheeses and the fruits were excellent! The tea room is beautiful, but one thing I would suggest to the management is to ask guests ahead of time if they are comfortable sitting at low tables and whether they are ok sitting at a seat that is more of a low couch. My friend wasn't very comfortable in the low couch style seating.
Delightful afternoon tea.
We went to the afternoon tea as part of our Anniversary weekend in Niagara Falls. This was one of the highlights of the whole weekend! The waitress made sure I received gluten free options and allowed us to select which sandwiches we wanted. She also did a great job taking some photos for us which turned out great! I highly recommended coming here for afternoon tea. It was a great experience!
We had a wonderful time, having tea at The Prince of Wales Drawing Room. A great experience that I highly recommand!
