Our Victorian Tea Room and English delicacies are fit to be enjoyed by guests who appreciate regal treatment with an imaginative twist.
Greatly enjoyed the experience. The service was great. Jodie was very helpful and forthcoming. I must say it's quite pricey for the way the food taste. They could ump it up a bit for what is being charged.
Great food and atmosphere. Server was friendly and nice when she came to our table. What we found was missing, was how often. We waited a long time after we were sat for someone to appear, then our order was taken and then no one for about an hour. We were not offered more tea, and would have loved a glass of water. We were done our tea and goodies for a long time before we were offered our bill and asked for water finally at that time. A little disappointed, I was very warm and needed a glass of water, and couldn't get our servers attention. Like I said when she did finally appear she was friendly no complaints there.
Wow! What a truly wonderful experience from start to finish! I brought my nana here for a special getaway as we ate huge high-tea fanatics.
The tea selection is wonderful, I am usually an English breakfast/orange pekoe person but after smelling the Heavenly Cream tea I just had to try it! It was delicious and I drank an entire pot to myself. My nana stuck to her favourite, orange pekoe and said it was also amazing.
The food was very tasting and my goodness there was a lot of it! I think I probably rolled out of there after all the goodies we were served.
It was a beautiful atmosphere and we will definitely be coming back.
I must say what truly made our visit here even more special was our amazing server Grace. You sure hit the jackpot when you hired her! Outgoing, bubbly, and extremely
Knowledgeable, Grace provided us with an unforgettable experience ( and quite a few amazing photo’s - thanks Grace! )
I’ve already told a bunch of people bout our experience and they can’t wait to try it for themselves. We will definitely be back!!!!
Awesome place to go for a unique experience. Many different tea choices and selection of sandwiches and pastries. Gluten free options were also DELICIOUS!
We arrived on time and were seated in front of a cozy fire (which was really nice because it was freezing outside) and we did not have to wait long for service. Our server (Brooke) was friendly, patient, and nice. Our food arrive in a beautiful service and organized in a way to make sure we knew which tea arrangement belongs to who, it was very nice. The tea was unique, beautifully prepared, and well arranged. The tea we chose (heavenly cream) was delightful in aroma and flavour. We had a nice relaxing time, eating and cutting in front of the fireplace it was like being in Downton Abbey, only comfortable.
It was a lovely experience. The tea was so delicious. Will be visiting again with my Mom.
I thought the waitress was capable but not outstanding. I was surprised that the black tea had the tea bag taken out. It didn’t seem steeped enough. Also, there were 3 people drinking that tea from one pot. I would have thought we might get a second one or we would each get one to our liking.
I brought my daughter to celebrate her birthday. We had a wonderful time. I will definately be back again
Was a lovely experience as always. An amazing afternoon tea with the perfect atmosphere and AMA big service! Worth the drive to Niagara on the lake!
We loved every bit of our experience during our visit! The ambiance was wonderful, it seemed like we had the best seat in the house (although every seat would have been just as good) and Olivia was awesome!
Excellent high tea selection of sandwiches, pastries. Lovely ambience. Superb service by Shannon.
We completely enjoyed our tea on New Years Eve. The ambiance is lovely. The peaches and cream tea I had was fantastic, a great recommendation by our server Grace as I don’t like tea.
We both added Kir Royal and my husband added cheese. Our server Grace was perfectly attentive. She took our picture and reheated our tea. Highly recommended.
Such a wonderful experience. Our server Grace was amazing. We were looking forward to our afternoon tea experience so much and it was beyond our expectations. Beautiful tea selections, the food was lovely, and the atmopshere was dreamy. Highly recommend!
It’s a lovely setting with good service. Scones were delicious, but rest of tea service (food) was really only average.
They didn’t honor our 8pm reservation even though slated to be open until 10pm.
The afternoon tea was delightful for 3 old friends getting together to be spoiled.
This was I believe the ninth time we attended afternoon tea at the Prince of Wales. The ambiance of the Drawing Room never fails to please and so it has become somewhat of a holiday tradition. Unfortunately, there were disappointments with this visit. Two of the pots of tea served were barely warm. When we later requested a second pot (because two of us were sharing) it was a much better temperature. I would expect a "Tea Room" to have consistency in the temperature it serves the tea. Perhaps they need to start using tea cosies. The greatest disappointment of all, however, is that they appear to have replaced the beloved Devon Cream with Creme-Fraiche. The scones (which are still excellent) with Devon Cream were always the highlight of the tea, so I see this as a bit of a deal breaker for us. Sadly, if they continue with the Creme Fraiche I am afraid we will have to pursue a new venue for our holiday tradition. Finally, there were two vegetarians in our party and there was only one type of sandwich on the menu suitable for them. The hostess indicated that next time we should let them know at the time of booking. However, I don't recall any such option when booking online. If you have never before had Afternoon Tea at the Prince of Wales, then you should give it a try. However, if you have already done so before, I fear you may find that the quality of the experience has declined.
Food was very good, service was just ok. Tea options very good. We had the Monarch Tea service option which had small plate of the local cheeses and a glass of sparkling as an addition. For 46.00, I thought the price was a bit high.
The service was negligible until we got to our table - then it was great. The food was okay. The atmosphere was nice - but we were placed at a table for four in a less attractive area. Overall - unless you are two or more than four you might get a less than desirable table.
We have had afternoon tea at the Prince of Wales several times & have ever been disappointed. The food is delicious & we were able to substitute the sweets for an extra scone. The service is always very attentive & the ambiance friendly. We would highly recommend high tea there.
This is the second year in a row my wife and I have made reservations to have afternoon tea on Boxing Day. As we live in Ottawa and visit our children during the festive season, it is a real pleasure to just relax and enjoy an afternoon tea with the works at the Prince of Wales. Since this has become an annual tradition with us we are planning to bring our 3 grand-daughters during the summertime when we are visiting them again.
I’m sorry that we were a late, we got lost and had a bit of trouble finding a parking spot. We came for high tea, and it was magical. Thank you so much.
Very enjoyable afternoon tea, has turned into me and my daughters traditional tea on Christmas Eve!
Such a lovely experience having High Tea at Prince of Wales.
We had wonderful service from our server Olivia who was great at explaining and recommending various teas along with explaining the food.
The world would be a better place is we all took time for such a relaxed, delicious and enjoyable experience.
Finger sandwiches were a huge underwhelming disappointment!
Scones were great, rest was alright.
This restaurant gave me a very strange vibe. I was very excited to try it out at first because of the beautiful decorations and the ambiance. But unfortunately, as soon as we walked in, my opinion shifted very quickly. I usually do not think or worry about being treated differently as a minority in public places in Canada but I certainly felt very unwelcomed at this dining location. The guests were constantly staring at us as if we were “outsiders” so did the waistress who greeted us. After letting her know that I have made a reservation, she told me well that’s fine but she has to “check” if she has anything available for us. Usually, “making a reservation” means I wanted to ensure a table will be available for me not for the staff to decide for me if I can sit and dine somewhere. NEVER coming back and I certainly will write a truthful review on Google about how this luxury hotel fails horribly on inclusiveness and diversity. Very disappointing and frankly, pathetic.
Enjoyed our stay at the Prince of Wales and the noon tea. One notable thing was the tiered trays with sandwiches and goodies were in dire need of cleaning and polishing.
Service was great and all the nibbles were very tasty...especially the chicken in pastry! A fun way to spend the afternoon on my birthday.
Our experience was outstanding. I do feel very pricy. I cane in November 2 for 1. That was the better value.
A beautiful elegant hotel. Excellent Christmas decorations and ambiance. Excellent service. Very good food - ample amount. Would definitely come again. Only criticism is the quality of serving dishes which was unexpected in such an elegant setting-- the serving platters used for the high tea were simple and cafeteria-grade. Tea pot had crack in it. This makes the meal unappealing. An investment in better quality and attractive serving dishes would be expected at this venue, considering the price.
This was my third tea at the Prince of Wales. Awesome as always.
Traveled from the states to celebrate my mom’s 90th Birthday. Enjoyed the afternoon!
Moms 89th birthday
We had an excellent Afternoon Tea. It was our third time there and we will definitely visit again.
We were welcomed immediately by a pleasant and friendly host, and offered a choice of seating. Samantha was very friendly, informative, attentive and professional.....loved our afternoon tea.....thanks!
We brought 3 princesses under 7 for afternoon tea. Girls were thrilled to have real tea 🍵 in real teacups–staff were lovely, a great experience!
Afternoon Tea is such a lovely treat to catch up with someone, treat yourself, and relax. We have been to the Prince of Wales Tea more than once, and it is always consistently great. It is cozy but not crowded, you can easily have a conversation, and the service is attentive without being cloying. Simply by calling ahead, they were able to accommodate a full vegan tea that was as lush and indulgent as the non-vegan regular tea with three types of sandwiches and five sweet treats. great value for the experience.
They cancelled my reservation "by accident" and shoved me and my parents into a small corner in the room not meant for 3 people. I have been here 3 times and never had such a poor experience. I tried calling a few times to speak to a manager and no one returns my calls. The food and tea were lovely but the experience itself and the service were extremely poor for a high end establishment.
Wonderful unforgettable experience. Great food and friendly prompt service. It's good value and a lovely place to make wonderful memories. Enjoy the ambience and beautiful decor no matter what your occasion.
