From the adornment of rose chandeliers to floral table clothes and teapots, Prince of Wales brings your whimsical garden party indoors. Our Victorian Tea Room and English delicacies are fit to be enjoyed by guests who appreciate regal treatment with an imaginative twist.
It was very nice. Service was great. Relaxing. I love the Victorian decor.
Three adults and two princess enjoyed a beautiful tea served in an equally beautiful room. Brook, our server, was delightful and really played up to the little girls. They had the time of their lives. Do try the pink jasmine tea-what an aroma. We enjoyed every delicious morsel. Unfortunately we live in Ohio and have to wait until next before returning to the Prince of Wales again.
Very expensive for what we received. $60 for one pot of tea and a few sandwiches and deserts. The pink rose cookies were awful. Our mistake. We expected more.
The table wasn’t ready if though we called ahead. The food was mediocre and some seemed stale (ie. mini bagels).
The seating was inadequate so some of the party had to sit on chairs that were not suited for the space.
Overall, I would not recommend for high tea. There are plenty of better options elsewhere.
This was my mom’s first time at Afternoon Tea in the Drawing Room. Thank you for making this a memorable experience for her. The food, service and ambiance were all to perfection!
The High Tea at the Prince of Wales is outstanding. It was perfect in every way. I would recommend this to anyone who is travelling at Niagara on the Lake Ontario.
This was an experience I am so glad I had! The food (The Prince of Wales tea which is the tea plus cheese option) was excellent. The tea (Snow Dragon Green and Heavenly Cream) was superb. Our server, Victoria, was delightful. I would 100% do this again.
I spent a lot of time researching places to have Afternoon tea as I wanted to take a friend for her very first. Atmosphere was of utmost importance and I knew Prince of Wales would not disappoint. My concern was some of the reviews were quite negative. I decided to take a chance and I'm very glad I did. My experience was perfect! From the ambiance to the food to the service it was everything I was looking for. I would recommend The Drawing Room to everyone who was looking for the "Afternoon Tea" experience.
This is the second time I've brought my dad here for Father's Day. At 92, I get him experiences not gifts. He's thoroughly enjoyed himself both times. He's already talking about coming for tea the next time we go to Shaw!
Victoria was our server and she was so pleasant and knowledgeable. The sandwiches and pastries were delicious and very filling. It was more food than expected. We couldn’t finish it all. Tea was divine! Highly recommend!
I loved my experience here at the drawing room! The whole atmosphere was so nice and the tea was phenomenal. Victoria, our server, was absolutely amazing. She explained everything so nicely and carried everything with a smile! The temperature was getting a little hot near the windows but it wasn't anything my friend and I couldn't manage. I'm already planning another day to come back!
My mom and I came here for afternoon tea and had a lovely visit. The ambiance is nice and it’s a fun historical landmark in the town.
Wonderful tea and tea time. One of a kind . Awesome service. Unique atmosphere.
A wonderful Royal Tea. Scones, sandwiches & pastry selections were all delicious. Service was excellent.
It was a lovely traditional tea.
The Drawing Room was overcrowded, but everything was great.
Lovely, great ambience, pay for extra parkin, they are NOT fast. Need more staff! Staff were lovely but there were not enough of them
My two friends and I were visiting Niagara on the Lake for a few days. We had made reservations prior to our visit and that transaction had been very smooth. The Prince of Wales was everything I had imagined it would be and more. From the decorations, to the quality of the food and the presentation, everything was just lovely. There are not too many occasions in today's busy world where one can go and not feel rushed. This place is a one-of-a-kind and both myself and my traveling companions were made to feel like we were special guests.
If we ever make it back to Niagara on the Lake again, this will be a must-do on our list of things to take in.
Service was a little erratic, a couple long periods not seeing our wait staff. Food and ambience good as in the past.
Have visited many, many times. My favorite tea room in the area. Love the ambiance. Excellent tea. Good sandwiches, scones & desserts. Pricey. Anxious to try the children's tea. Will come back soon.
I have been to a number of venues for high tea and this was a disappointment. The cakes were nice but the rest was very plain and all tasted the same.
Disappointing high-tea experience, especially considering the cost. The biscuits were good but very small and made with raisins instead of currants....the butter, Devon cream and jam was plentiful and good. While there were a few little sandwiches, they were dry and bread was stale. Most of the platter consisted of under-whelmingly boring sweets that had too much sugar and too little flavour. We asked for 2 more biscuits and were charged $8. I will not return.
The service was excellent.
Were came to NotL with the plan to have afternoon tea already in mind and it did not disappoint. Group of 6 with one child and we really appreciated being sat at a table. Our wait staff was very friendly and efficient. The food was delicious...we all enjoyed the warm scone with cream and jam. Overall a memorable experience.
Brought my mom for High Tea and everything was perfect. The food was incredible and the tea delicious. You couldn’t ask fir a better ending to a great day on Niagara-on-The-Lake
The food was stale generally, the scones were the only part that was good, the sandwiches were barely tolerable and the stodgy desserts stale and nearly inedible....we took some of them with us but will not touch them....no fresh fruit, nothing to recommend the experience apart from the classic decor and furniture, but that is not enough to justify the price....the one staff serving was good, but she had too much to do....we had a reservation and were a few minutes early, but waited at the door and then outside in the hall out of respect for the diners for quite a while before anyone noticed us, various staff passed us by in the hallway and the staff on the desk was there the entire time, but they did not acknowledge us or ask how they could help.....the whole visit for my wife's birthday was an expensive mistake....
Where else would you go with your wife and mother after a Shaw matinee? Thanks to our daughter's kind gift, we were treated to an Afternoon Tea at the Prince of Wales. Our server, Victoria, helped us with our tea blend options , answering any questions we had. When she arrived with the three-level plate of sandwiches and dainties, she also took the time to explain what we had before us. Fine food and drink, a relaxing ambience, attentive service ...all in the company of some extraordinary women, it was an afternoon to remember.
Overall a nice experience (not something to do all the time). Cost for high tea, for what is offered, is not reasonable. But again, as an experience (was my first time and my friend's second, at a different location) it is alright. Different, cool, thing to do.
Had the Royal Tea, which included a Kir Royale in addition to the tea and food. The selection was very good, and a lot! Service was very good; it was a busy place, but the staff were very friendly and efficient. Would recommend as a pre- or post- play meal.
Aside from having made a reservation 3 months ago, we still had to wait 20-25 minutes for a table. That being said, once seated, everything was wonderful from the service to the food to the atmosphere. It was absolutely a wonderful experience. We will do it again in a heartbeat and recommend it to others.
The place is so beautiful, such fitting for hightea! Tea and the pastries were excellent, love the scones and the sandwiches were good tho I found the turkey sandwiches were dry but nonetheless the whole experience was great!
Had the traditional afternoon tea for a birthday. I loved how they brought out the tea box early so we could test all the teas before making our order. Food was delicious! Not stale, as I found a lot of high tea places are (since they pre-make them). The lemon tart was to DIE FOR! Waitress, Victoria was so thoughtful and sweet. She read the notes on my open table account that I had a food allergy, and made the note on our order before taking our order. She even offered to take a picture of us when our food came out, and made sure to put a candle on my boyfriend’s food to celebrate his birthday. She was quick and sweet! The restaurant itself is GORGEOUS! Such a cute space. Make sure you give yourself more time to walk around the grounds as the restaurant is in the Prince of Wales hotel (gorgeous), and it is just half a block from niagara-on-the-lake’s downtown + park. Gorgeous place to walk around, and tons of street parking! (Get extra time on your parking so you can enjoy a stroll around the neighbourhood!). Already planning on taking my parents back to experience this all again!!
I took my mother here just last weekend as a mother's Day gift, and it was an exceptional experience for both of us. The service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and for someone like me who is not a tea drinker ...my mind has been changed, as their teas are the most delicious teas I have ever tasted. The atmosphere was elegant and relaxed, and it felt like we were sitting in the middle of an old Victorian drawing room and we were the only people in the room. The set up, the atmosphere, and the calmness created by background music, all led to the feeling of being the only people in the room when the room was actually in fact quite full. I would recommend this exquisite experience to everyone! We truly felt like "fancy ladies" lol!
Perfect food and nice service~ Great location and view🥰
Had such a great time. What a wonderful afternoon activity. Would love to do it again and highly recommend it.
It's a lovely spot for tea. They serve a local Toronto brand tea that's excellent. The food is very mediocre but the atmosphere of a real vintage hotel is unbeatable.
High tea continues to be a favourite! Food is delicious, service is always wonderful and the ambiance is very relaxing.
The manger was a very wonderful lady, she was very welcoming and helpful, I would recommend the drawing room it is a beautiful place and fantastic food
Great selection of teas and sandwiches were delicious. I was especially impressed with the service as they held my table even though I arrived nearly 45 mins late due to terrible traffic. A nice treat for my mom for Mother’s Day.
From the Niagara area, very high priced which is ok because it’s the Prince of Wales and I expected that, what I didn’t expect is the food was horrible, if you consider yourself so high class - a high class pastry chef should be hired to do all of the in house baking...so very disappointed
