Amazing as always
When asked on the initial invitation if we were celebrating a special occasion for our afternoon tea, I responded that it was my wife's birthday. When we were being served on Sunday, I again mentioned to the waitress that we were celebrating my wife's 70th birthday. I really thought that the Prince of Wales would be a little bit enterprising and serve at least one of their petit cupcakes with a candle stuck in it. Na-da!!! Found the service was okay but had to whisk the food crumbs off the window sill left by the previous guests. When we asked for extra crackers for the cheese, we got nothing and had to wait forever for a glass of water. For the classy atmosphere of the tea room, we found the fruit wilted, seeming like it had been around for a couple of days. Thought we would be amazed by the "Monarch Tea" but left disenchanted and not likely to return. Too bad, as we have been to a couple of the teas in previous years and always left thrilled with the service and food.
We were a party of four with over 70 years separating the youngest and oldest guest. We all enjoyed the delicious food and wide variety of teas. Two of us had been before and were pleased that the standards were as excellent as ever. The highlight is the exceptional service. Our server was Jodi.
High tea at the Prince of Wales never disappoints. The food and teas served were delicious! This time the service was even better than usual - our groups of 5 was comfortably seated but one person was a little far from the low table set for tea. When another party cancelled, the staff asked if we would like to move to a possibly more comfortable spot for 5 - how thoughtful. The staff here is always terrific!
We were on our holidays from the United Kingdom, we really enjoyed our visit and also a walk around the town.
Beautiful town and surroundings we were pleased to have visited The Prince of Wales for afternoon tea and a experience that will stay with us for a long time. Would highly recommend a visit.
Have been here several times. One of my favorite places. Worth the 3-1/2 hour drive from Syracuse. Charming, soothing and delightful! And you never know who you’re going to see. Once I met Brendan Coyle from Downton Abbey while having afternoon tea. Perfect!
Wonderful food in a beautiful dining area. Excellent place to gather with friends.
It was a nice experience. We loved the atmosphere and all the elegant touches in the room plus the beautiful teapots. The tables were a little low with the couches but comfortable chairs. We would have appreciated being asked about sandwich selection. One of our guest can’t eat cheese which was on 3 of the 4 selections. Also white/Brown bread selection could have been asked before order was taken. On the whole a nice visit
We went for tea. Had the Royal tea. Had a glass of Kir...devine.
We found the sandwiches to have been better in past visits. More effort on the creative side is needed.
The scones and the tea were wonderful. They source the most wonderful teas.
It was great to relax and unwind in the middle of Niagara on the Lake. The flowers outside were delightful.
Overall, a very pleasant experience, server Jody was friendly and warm.
It’s not really worth the money for the Tea set. I had much better high tea elsewhere if I am paying the same price as here
We attended high tea at the Prince of Wales Hotel. Just arriving from NY we we're delayed by about 90 mins. When we arrived NO PROBLEM and we're escorted to a lovely table in the glass atrium overlooking the street. The tea and sandwiches are delightful and the scones were magnificent. This is a must do!
Photo is "Sugar" dusted edible rose petals & Violets imported from France!!
We were extremely pleased with the food and the service. Our granddaughters couldn't stop talking it. Will come again.
Overall was great. The waitress wasnt really great, maybe she was in a hurry. I watched the other waitress explain to the customers about the teas and the options. Being our first time, I was like ok, she gave me a box amd left, i wondered do we get to pick 1 or 2. Wasnt sure how it worked. Other than that it was great experience.
The room and service are phenomenal! Five stars for both! The teas are also delicious and there are so many varieties from which to choose! We even purchased a tin of the loose tea leaves to take home. The food was plentiful as far as afternoon tea places go, but the quality was somewhat mediocre. The sandwich selection did not include anything really impressive. Included were a cucumber sandwich, ham and cheese, turkey salad, and a mini bagel with goat cheese. The desserts were also mediocre and included a sugar cookie, coconut macaroon, nanaimo bar and mini cupcake. The desserts were comparable in quality to having bought them from a grocery store. The scones were delicious though!! We definitely enjoyed the experience though and would still recommend it to others!
Afternoon tea at the drawing room of the Prince of Wales Hotel was quite lovely. The room was very cosy and fairly quiet. The assorted cheese tray was delicious as were the little sandwiches and sweet treats. It had a wonderful selection of teas catering to all tastes. Even if you are not a tea drinker it is a lovely way to spend the afternoon.
Overall, it was very good experience. Service staff were very nice and professional, we were late for our reservation and they happily accommodated us still. I would say it’s a little on the pricy side for the amount of food you get and for the quality and quantity of the food .
Great experience. The staff and Chef made for a perfect dining experience. Perfect ambiance. Used Valet parking which just added to the perfect date with my girlfriend. Definitely recommend.......
I took my 6 yr old granddaughter Lily for Tea. We had an amazing time and loved everything. Well she loved my tea more Peaches & Cream. It appears she put too much sugar in hers. The Princess Tea could have used 2 more sandwiches and another cookie. She delved into my tray. I’m back again with my daughter on August 9. Can hardly wait!
What a great way to celebrate a delayed Fathers Day. The food was awesome, the service impeccable (thanks Brooke) and we all enjoyed. Decadent and wonderful!
A lovely afternoon for myself and my friends. We have never had the experience of an Afternoon Traditional Tea before this and it was wonderful! We will definitely return for future occasions. Something fun and different to experience.
Thank you kindly Prince of Wales!
It was a wonderful experience and I would recommend it to my friends
Lovely setting, vintage hotel is impeccably maintained. Large bouquets of roses decorating the space, very fragrant. Service was friendly and professional. Nice selection of tea, lovely place settings. High tea food was comparable to others we’ve had. Not outstanding but solidly good. We arrived 1 hour early for our reservation and requested a specific table, they were happy to save it for us when it opened, 40 min later. Were able to park in hotel lot free. Very relaxing, did not feel rushed at all.
I have been going for tea with my grand daughter and friends for several years now and have seen the quality of the food gradually slip. For starters, it is seriously over priced for what you get. At top prices the food quality should be very high. It isn't. I think patrons are now being culled from unsuspecting tourists who really don't have to be please because they will not likely return anyway.
I ordered gluten free ahead of time. Staff didn't seem aware of that and actually didn't even ask my name when I appeared and said I had a reservation. I said I was not Celiac and would take a regular if gluten free was not available. My tray was gluten free but it was heavy on what appeared to be stale bagels with a really unappealing tuna spread. My poor grand daughter was treated to sandwiches made with dark (very dark!) rye bread. What 10 year old doesn't love that? I am not angling for a coupon or any kind of compensation. That was my last visit because I am really disgusted with the quality you are presently offering . Even our scones were stale. Shame on you.
Everything was very good, except the service was slow. It was not busy, yet our seating was slow and almost ignored. The service from wait staff was far too long to even notice we were sitting at our table waiting for a greeting, offer of beverage or water. All in all, good tea, good food a Nd long wait to be acknowledged...25 to 30 minutes for first contact by wait staff.
Staff were happy to accommodate the picky eating habits of my 5 year old. I just called ahead.
Great afternoon, beautiful decor and perfect for a girls day. It was great except one person wasn’t able to drink alcohol and we were not offered a non alcoholic beverage. This was our first time coming here for tea and we purchased the Monarch Tea for the whole group; we didn’t know what to do or how this went and were confused by the servers explanation. I think there should be clear explanations so we know what to do. It wasn’t busy at the hotel but for some reason I had to walk around looking for the valet when we arrived and again when I wanted my car at the end. The tea was great and I’d like to do this again. The Prince of Wales is a beautiful establishment.
Service was very good to start. It got slack towards the end. It took the server 15 minutes to give me the bill after I asked for it.
The tea was OK but the food barely acceptable. The ham in sandwiches was either off or just bad quality, I couldn't decide which. The clotted cream was watery, and the butter completely melted - it surely had spent several hours outside the fridge, so possibly it was recycled i.e. served to some other customer and then to me. Also the tiered stand used to serve the food was not polished properly.
We had made a reservation weeks in advance and were made to wait about twenty/twenty-five minutes for our table. We were asked to wait in the lobby and someone would gather us but, we were clearly forgot when I noticed people who arrived after us being sat. Our party was placed in a beautiful but, very warm back windowed area with a large family with loud young children running around. The host did ask us if we wanted to move and we did take advantage of that however, we were sat at a small table that was clearly not meant for a party of our size. Our server was lovely and the food was quite good. It was our first visit, I was excited but, was disappointed with the experience.
Excellent food and service!!
A very lovely afternoon tea! Atmosphere is beautiful and royalesque!
Second time we've done the afternoon tea. It's a bit pricey but it is very good. No one rushes you. A great way to unwind and chat with friends.
It was truly a "tea-lightful" experience. 2 of the 4 of us had never been to a High tea before, and they were duly impressed.
Our afternoon tea was very nice. Food good, beautiful setting and our server -Olivia_ was excellent!!!
Mother’s Day celebration it was was fantastic. We will be back for sure!
My mother and I share a birthday month and for the last DECADE spend our day together for Afternoon Tea at Prince of Wales Tea Room. We love the experience and the staff is always poise and respectful.
Only opportunity I see if they can begin changing the dessert and sandwich options, which have been the same year after year. We LOVE Sloan tea and is very difficult to find the variety they have. We love it. We will be back again next year.
Love the details. Furniture. Tea selection.
High Tea is always a special occasion, especially in Niagara on the Lake. We had a family gathering of 3 generations, introducing our teenagers to the civilized pleasure of high tea at its finest. All the accoutrements were there, including an additional cheese plate- just in case anyone was Really hungry. We enjoyed just about every bite. Our server, Sharon, was attentive but not intrusive, and very helpful as our teens experimented with the unfamiliar teas. Certainly pricey, but worth it as a special occasion to remember when life was lived more formally, and slowly with great attention to detail.
FABULOUS AND DELICIOUS---best tea ever been to ---INCLUDING LONDON, ENGLAND!!!!
