The Elm Tree
Inspired by their father’s and uncle’s restaurants, brothers Ben and Jonathan Mishaev created The Elm Tree restaurant as a fresh and modern twist to their family roots. Growing up surrounded by a perfect mix of food and hospitality, their passions were obvious from a young age.
Ben’s passion for cooking and Jonathan’s interest in beverage programs and hospitality has created the perfect combination of delicious, unique food and welcoming, homey atmosphere. To Ben and Jonathan, each guest who enters the restaurant is like someone who comes into their home. The brothers strive to make them happy, treat them well and ensure they leave satisfied.
A wonderful experience! Gorgeous restaurant, friendly but unobtrusive service, excellent food. A great place for a conversation as unlike many restaurants, the music wasn't too loud. I had the beef carpaccio and the lamb chops. Both were perfect! Highly recommended.
The scallops, the striploin and the salmon were exemplary, especially the former. their rosewater ice cream was also the loveliest and freshest end to the meal.
I came here for my 2 year anniversary with my boyfriend.
Definitely wasn't disappointed in the quality of the food :)
Their drinks were very good too.
Amazing atmosphere and delicious food. Must visit the Elm restaurant. We loved it. Thank you again♥️🥰♥️
Excellent food and excellent service!
Went with a girlfriend for a saturday night dinner and the food was amazing! The servers were nice and the place wasnt crazy busy and loud. Nice selection of blues music playing in the background. Will go again.
Loved it very good food, service was attentive as well as knowledgable. Will definitely be going back.
We had a really wonderful meal. Our server was extremely professional and very nice. We had the charred octopus, the charred eggplant appetizer and the salmon. Everything was delicious, fresh and beautifully prepared. Thank you.
Very attentive service, delicious food and lovely atmosphere. My friend and I met here for dinner before the theater and were immediately seated and made to feel very welcome. The Greek salad we shared was the best I can remember. The lamb chops were amazing. The staff were very helpful. I will definitely return.
8 person dinner was 700 dollars. Including 140 dollars wine bottle. Happy with the received service.
Unique flavours and arrangements of dishes. Good range of choices and very tasty. Tea were able to converse easily because there was no loud music playing and the acoustics were good. Service was amiable and efficient. The desserts were amazing and really delicately flavoured.
The food was average, the atmosphere very nice, pricey for what you get, and don’t bring kids- they were not treated with kindness
A lovely new find for me! Fantastic food, great cocktails and a nice room.
The food and service were top notch. Worth the money.
Lovely, fresh, innovative and healthful food. Excellent staff & service.
Pretty restaurant with good food - you must try the fried Brussels sprouts. Service very good and personable. Able to customize the food to my wife’s picky taste, which is an accomplishment. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
Our service and food were amazing! The scallops were a favourite and our servers were very friendly. A great place to go on a date with that special someone.
Delicious food! Had not dined there before but would certainly recommend it. Shared several appetizers and appreciated the variety and beautiful plating as well.
We were surprised and delighted by the quality of the Middle Eastern food. Flavourful, beautifully presented, delicious and reasonably priced! Good wine list, also very reasonable priced bottles (Wednesday is half price bottles!) We will definitely go back. Highly recommended.
Great meal! Great service !
The food was outstanding service as well. I had the duck breast which was on special, absolutely delicious.
Amazing food and good service! Would highly recommend!
We loved the Elm Tree restaurant, the ambiance was great. The food all tasted great. We ordered the Charred Octopus and Brussel Sprouts for appetizers, both were delicious. For the main course, we ordered the Lamb Shank, Lamb Chops and the Duck leg. We all loved the food we had. If you are not a big eater, the quantity was quite a bit and probably with an appetizer, one main course can be shared between 2 people. The cocktails were amazing as well. Overall we had an amazing experience eating here and would definitely go again, they change their menu every quarter with the season.
This is my second review of The Elm Tree, to which I returned after a visit in July. Gorgeous food creations, wonderful service, fantastic mixology. I rarely write restaurant reviews. Thank you, Elm Tree, for providing us with a restaurant that hearkens back to times in Toronto when it was possible for chefs and owners to offer a labour of love that many could afford and visit often.
I would definatly recommend this restaurant. The staff was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. They us at a lovely table that seated 4 even though there was just the two odd us because they weren't busy at that time and thought we're might like the extra room. The service was exactly on par for timing. They brought the dishes in just enough time to not feel rushed but not feel like we were waiting. That atmosphere was friendlier and intimate at the same time and the food.... the food was hands down amazing. Absolutely amazing. Don't just think about going here... just go. Don't hesitate. You won't regret it! If I didn't live two hours away I'd be going at least once a week.
Excellent food, nice service, and great environment!!
My friends and I had dinner and we truly enjoyed the food, the service and the ambiance.
Great food and service - will be going back for sure
Everything was 5 star
Went there for our anniversary. Told the waiter we needed to be out at a precise time to make the show at the theatre. Everything g was perfect, timely, tasty and served with the right touch of professionalism and humour. Loved itN
We really enjoyed dinner at The Elm. Very good quality food, exceptionally tasteful and excellent service!
Thank you for your thoughtfulness for considering my allergies and substituting an alternate to the bread, so I could also enjoy the spread!
But not a lot of choice on the menu.
Staff friendly but they did try and take the plates away before we had actually finished the meal.
The service and food was great. We had dinner on a Friday evening and expected it to be busy, however we were able to get a quit table in the corner and had a great meal.
Had been several years ago for lunch and decided to have my birthday dinner here with a large group. Restaurant was able to accommodate us no problem on Friday night. Ambience was nice; not too loud, was able to chat with entire table but not dead quiet. Their Elm 75 cocktail was deliciously balanced. Shared the cauliflower and brussel sprouts appies and duck confit for main. Great flavors and portions were perfect. Finished with a rosewater vanilla ice cream. Service was attentive. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion like a date or dinner with close friends.
Fabulous meal, beautifully presented, with interesting flavors and ingredients. Excellent servce.
Fantastic lunch at the Elm Tree. Waiter was friendly and helpful with suggestions. We shared 3 appetizers between 5 of us which was probably a little too much (they also bring delicious sour-dough bread). Crispy Brussel Sprouts - you have to try them. Entrees were superb. I highly recommend it!
Tasty food and great service. Salmon, with crispy crust and succulent fish, some of the best I ever had. My husband devoured his lamb shops
Our meal at The Elm was the best Mediterranean flavour experience I’ve had since visiting Greece. A perfect birthday treat. The service was stellar. The outdoor ambiance was excellent for an enjoyable evening meal prior to seeing Come From Away at the Elgin Theatre. Dining at its best.
We started with the Greek Salad and Charred Octopus, then I had the Confit Duck Leg, my youngest son had the special of Duck Breast with Barley Risotto, my eldest son had the Lamb Shank, and my husband had the Barramundi. Everything was fabulous. So fabulous! We were full, but couldn’t resist the dessert menu... the Rosewater Ice Cream and Pistachio Marscarpone Cream were both divine.
If you want to make your tastebuds sing, this is the place to visit.
Beautiful evening at The Elm Tree. We shared a few appetizers to start and were all impressed. Our main dishes were good as well. Gracious service, nice al fresco setting on a quiet street. Great memory.
