I took my family there for Easter brunch. The service was so friendly and sweet, and then the food was so good we didn’t want to leave. We will definitely be back again soon. Great spot in Barrie for any occasion. Thank you for a great experience Farmhouse & staff!
Food was good.Vegan cauliflower steak and the Vegeburger.
We had a lovely meal, and would go there again or recommend it to others
The Food was incredible. Lamb shank fell of the bone and the steak was perfectly cooked. Shannon our main server was awesome and attentive. The two concerns I had - were parking HORRIBLE - I left my family off and circled around for 10-15 minutes before having to squeeze in where someone left and walk through muddy unfinished lot to get to front door. Second was portion size of the drinks small tumbler glasses of Arnold Palmer specialty full of ice and very little to drink. But to ensure to leave on a positive note I will definitely return - probably way more than once.
Server was very good. Nice place however menu is very limited and in my opinion over priced. We had the lamb on special and it was cooked pretty nicely but it was way over seasoned. All 3 of us agreed. Shame as it's a very nice location. Another friend had the burger and said it was average.
It is a great fun place to go. A little noisey so would not recommend for a quiet romantic evening but great food with fun presentation. Nice tasty different side dishes with healthy choices and variety. Trout entree is my favourite.
Had a social / business lunch meeting here. Great experience all around.
My three sisters and I really enjoyed our luncheon at the Farmhouse. The atmosphere was relaxing. The service attentive and we did not feel rushed. The lighting was good. The noise level was noticeable but not off putting. The food was delicious, we all enjoyed what we ordered. The waitress was friendly and efficient.
The Farmhouse never disappoints. The food is amazing and consistent. Never had a bad meal yet. Our server was Devyn and she’s fabulous! I recommend requesting to be in her section. I love the casual, friendly vibe of this place.
The young man who greeted us at the door upon arrival and also when we left was very polite and friendly. Our waitress had a lot of hair hanging down on her face on one side and we were surprised that she wouldn't have been required to have it tied back. Staff looked rather unprofessional (sloppy). Our drinks seemed to be very watered down or not very strong. Salad in a jar was interesting but hadn't been tossed so the dressing was all in the bottom and it was awkward to eat out of the jar. Fries were excellent as were garlic mashed. Pulled pork would have been better toasted. The oversize bun made it very awkward and messy. We won't be back for dinner but will definitely return on a warm summer day for a Margarita and an "appy" on your lovely balcony overlooking Kempenfelt Bay !
Friendly, fast and delicious! Easy to part and situated with great views. Washrooms in the basement so those with mobility issues need to be assisted with the narrow steps.
First time at The Farmhouse.
We wish we had gone there sooner.
The food and service were great.
We will definitely be back.
Great place for a get together . Good food, nice atmosphere , service was excellent . We were able to sit and talk after lunch although it was during week and restaurant fairly quiet while we were there .
Very impressed when a staff called by phone in addition to email to say restaurant was closed due to weather.
It was very nice, excellent food and service.
It was amazing. Just a tad bit cold in the main room.
Our server Larissa was fantastic. She explained all of our meal options and specials (including the jerk butternut squash soup which was great!). We had a great time and will definitely be back.
Although the service and food were excellent I found the music not enjoyable
Salad was poor fish was ok nothing special every thing was mediocre. Trout could have been baked with tarragon spice. Lack of vegetables I say it was a very poor dinner for the price and I would not rebook. Very nice building.
It was a great night out with my wife and our friends. We were celebrating a birthday and Valentines Day. My only complaint was that there was this light above our table that would periodically flicker and was making me crazy. The food-excellence, service-excellent everything was excellent. I may just take my wife out for a 2nd Valentine Day Date.
Dinner was delicious, served in a timely fashion. Never felt rushed and the coconut cream pie was to die for!!!
Went for the last day of the Barrielicious food festival. The food was excellent, well prepared, with nice wine selections. For what was on offer, the value was great, especially as part of the Barrielicious festival, where $30 includes an appetizer, main course, and dessert.
A nice touch is that they grow their own herbs and greens for salads and sauces, which you can see on the way in the front doors. Doesn't get much fresher!
Always great! One of my favourite restaurants- never disappoints!
What you ask in the menu is not what they bring you , very disappointed but I like the place is nice .... food not so good
Based on this vist, I probably wouldn't recommend this restaurant to a friend. Except for the dip and homemade chips, the food was meh. We went for Barrielicious, but even so spent 100$ plus tip. Can't imagine eating there and paying regular prices. Went there 2 or 3 years ago and food was amazing.
Everything was perfect! The food was fantastic. My wife had been before but this was my first time. I wasn’t disappointed and we will be back!
This restaurant is absolutely a gem in Barrie. Friendly staff and great food go well always. We have never been let down. The only suggestion I have is that the heat needs to be turned up as it was a little chilly in there!
We just felt “rushed” by the server Liv as she said there were other reservations and we had 15mins left. Meanwhile there were other empty tables. It took us a bit to eat as we chatted as well. We understand other people were coming in, but we were not done eating. She did offer for us to take our dinner home but we shouldn’t have to take it home, in my opinion, we should be able to finish it at the restaurant. We do understand that Saturday is a busy time and can be stressful. Other then that we had a beautiful meal and time.
My friends and I all have our birthdays in January so always get together to celebrate. My friends are from Port Dover, Simcoe & Brantford and came up to Barrie to celebrate this year. They were impressed by the quality and value of the food and would certainly visit the Farmhouse again.
I was pleased to show off a local excellent restaurant.
Thank you Farmhouse restaurant
I am always pleasantly surprised by the great food with a creative flair
Potato skins were burnt and lack of potato guts, Mac n cheese was cold food wasn't hot from the get go very disappointed for the first time going there for barrlicious
Hmmm. I went with a friend for barrielicious. Seated near the bar and front door -not dining room -despite reservations.
The selection of items were good. I chose fried chicken app. Small but good - crispy not greasy at all. Then chose Cobb salad as the entree. You should know it’s not a regular Cobb salad. It didn’t spell that out. Instead of avocados you get a scoop of guacamole on top. Instead of romaine or iceberg it is spring mix. Blue cheese was generous-good. When I asked about it, they did however work to correct it by offering another item - got the wedge salad. Had coconut pie dessert. Meh.
All in all I really wondered what all the high ratings were about.
Haven’t been here for a few Years not sure why but I wasn’t disappointed. The food was absolutely awesome! It was Barrilious so I thought it would have been rushed but our Server was very good & left us alone to chat... looking forward to bringing my husband back here!!! Oh did I mention the beet salad with goat cheese was friggin awesome!!!
Barrielicious, the food was great, service was very good, price did not disappoint, I recommend the Farmhouse to anyone that is looking for a great meal, night out.
We were very disappointed with the occasion. We had a Brazilian family joining us and we had to ask for the fans to be turned off. It was the coldest day and the draft from the fan was not good. Our guest had to go to find someone to ask for the fan to be turned off even though we had asked previously. The meal was OK but the order was not right when it was brought out. There was one less meal than ordered meaning that one member had to share their meal until the second was brought out. The soup was tepid. It was a good flavour but being cold was discouraging. We had recommended the establishment and felt let down. It was an embarrassment, the time it took for the meal to be served was surprising because it was not busy.
We went to the Farmhouse during Barrielicious, and the menu had great choices. The service was good and the food terrific. It was -20 degrees outside, and unfortunately the cold came into the restaurant. I wore a toque during dinner, and my wife had her coat over her shoulders throughout. The staff said that with it being an old farm house it is hard to heat. I'm sure the installation of a gas fireplace would be an option.
I will return again in warmer weather!
We had a wonderful time ! The food was great, the service was good and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience!
A reservation 12:30 Sunday Jan 13.We were seated upstairs. I wasn't told that there was a problem with the lower level not having any heat , until I phoned in to complain that afternoon'. It was so loud we couldn't hear our friends above the noise and we hadn't seen them for a year. The more people they added the louder it got! The food was fine but overall the "ambience" overshadowed the food. Not enjoyable upstairs. Noise level was off the scale!
I would have appreciated having had a phone call about the situation and given a choice to go somewhere else.
We ate quickly as to get out of that noise.. I know our friends from Burlington will not go back to Farmhouse.
A little disappointed that the dinning room was not open for us that night. Also, my husbands dessert was delicious but surely a dessert for his birthday would have been nice if the proprietor would have given that free. Not complaining but just thinking dessert should be offered for birthdays.
Husband and I shared a delicious 1/2 chicken dinner, cauliflower cheese bacon soup, feature of the day-roasted beets/radishes, and fries. Choc torte for dessert. All delicious.
Everything was awesome! The Caesars are the best I’ve ever had!!!!
