Booked Farmhouse during the Barrielious event. First time there. Sat upstairs. Big tree in front
needs trimming to see the lake.
Bruchetta came in a very hot pan with pita bread that I had to make. (expected on a baguette.)
Beef dip..again thought baguette. Got a seed hamburger bun with opague colour beef. Awful!
My husband orders the maple and beer glazed pork loin..it was a porkchop! and our salads were in a
small jar! 3 bites! and the dessert was 2 bites! I thought Barrielious was to help promote business for restaurants but your food was not worth the $100.00!
Also, the restaurant needs some TLC. Will not go back.
While the service wasn't fully attentive, the food (both in taste and appearance) made up for it. Highly recommend the mussels as an appetizer! Great value during Barrielicious.
The meals were good, I had the beef dip, thin on the meat. dessert was limited as I am lactose intolerant. The cake/berries were poor quality. Cake was dried out
Went there to celebrate a birthday and the experience was really good. The value for five people was unbelievable, the food was delicious and the service was great. It was a little noisy but all in all a great experience and I would definitely return.
Best place for a perfect steak!
Best value for a steak during Barrielicious ❤
Fantastic food however the noise level on the second floor made conversation very difficult - we left and went somewhere else for coffee so we could talk without shouting. We would go again and try the main floor.
When received menu noticed that there were no explanations on food menu items. Picked on a whim. Ordered their buttermilk chicken appetizer. Was disappointed. 3 small over battered chicken pieces that were burnt on a dry tasteless piece of garlic bread with a small pickle slice on each piece of chicken. Husband ordered the trout with Mac and cheese side as entree. Mac and cheese portion was not even large enough for a child and fish was bland and seasoned poorly. For dessert husband ordered Oreo cheesecake which was a glob of cream cheese mix in small mason jar with an Oreo stuck in and mixed berry topping. I ordered the berry shortcake with “maple syrup whip cream”. The server even made a point of emphasizing the whip cream. When dessert came was a dried out sponge like white cake with berry topping and spray can whip cream, no maple syrup flavour at all.
It was our 34th anniversary, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. We sat outside, upstairs overlooking the lake it was beautiful. The food was amazing....the beef tenderloin was the best I’ve had in a long time. We went mid afternoon so we wouldn’t be rushed and could take our time to saviour the whole experience.
To be honest I was disappointed. Table still had poorly wiped glass rings on it. I had the romaine salad and found the serving size incredibly small even for me. Also had the pork loin that while tasty, had a huge amount of fat not trimmed off - about a quarter of it was fat around the outside. The apple slaw with it was great. Had mac'n'cheese side; was dry and flavourless and half a small serving bowl. Husband's salad, he ordered because it said it had onions, had none. His rib steak was perfect ($12 upcharge). Had the berry short cake thing for dessert, cake part was very dry and there just was never going to be enough compote to fix it. Our server never asked if we wanted tea or coffee with it. Yep, very disappointed.
Overall the food was good. The portions were adequate and very tasty. The chocolate dessert was excellent, but the berry shortcake had no taste. The service was also very good.
First time dining at The Farmhouse. Would return, wait staff was very attentive and got our meals out hot and quick.
You can taste the freshness of their ingredients. Always a consistently delicious and quality experience.
My fiancee and I were very disappointed. I had heard so much about this place. The trout was tiny portion and over cooked with no flavor. The plate had no appeal, no grnish, just small over cooked fish with a baked potatoes. Wasnt offered any extra butter for my potatoes. Appetizers good size but didnt enjoy. Dessert was way to small but best taste of the meal. The workers dressed terrible. One girls cloths had runs all in them. The staff looked like they all I hand me downs. Terrible dress code. I wont go back
Good atmosphere, decent food. Great date night spot!
I enjoy my lunch at the Farmhouse ! The food was so yummy and the service was excellent !
Very good server, friendly, helpful. Our party was 4 people who generally had a good experience at the Farmhouse.
I decided to participate in the Barrielicious menu. I was disappointed in the Caesar salad starter, but I think that is my personal preference not to have all dark greens . Also my choice of dessert was the mixed berry shortbread cake and it was dry hard cake- I thought it was awful. I have good memories of the restaurant food on previous visits so that is why I was disappointed this time that my expectations were not met.
Food was great, value was good, service was ok, but noisy as hell. I'm afraid I won't be back. I could not hear my friends speaking to me across the table...
We enjoyed a delicious meal at The Farmhouse on Saturday night. Crispy Trout and Pulled Pork mains were tasty with generous portions. Side salads were crispy and fresh and vegetables were cooked to perfection. A Barrie gem.
The Farmhouse is consistently delicious! We go a cpl times a year. Food is always top quality and wonderful!
Our food was phenomenal and our server Matt was incredible. I definitely recommend The Farmhouse to anyone who wants a delicious meal ar a reasonable price in downtown Barrie!
Very professional and friendly staff. Great outdoor patio. Delicious food - the Cobb salad, the burger, the beef dip, and the pulled pork sandwich were all enjoyed by our group. Located near the Barrie waterfront. Check it out!
The food was excellent as always. Unfortunately the service was extremely slow. I was there over a lunch hour and it took 1.5 hours from the time we sat down until the time we received our food. The restaurant was not crowded. I do not recommend this as a lunch place if on a restricted time. However, if you rush or hurry, it is an excellent place to eat.
the service was good, came with seconds in coffee which impresses me. Nice place to go for a quiet lunch
Great food and friendly staff. My Dad has some food allergies so we always end up coming here for special events since the food in clean and delicious! I recommend the Garlic Mashed Potatoes!
We were there for Father’s Day lunch and although it was busy we had Excellent service and great food! We’ll be back!
The service was incredibly friendly, the food wasn’t great. Portions were on the small side (side salad specifically). One person in our party ordered the goat cheese and grilled vegetable sandwich. The copious amounts of cheddar hid the goat cheese. The televisions in the dining room were incredibly distracting. Overall experience was a 5/10.
Really nice would recommend to anyone.
Our experience at the Farmhouse was very good. The menu was a pleasing combination of varied and compact. The setting is casual and friendly. The server made us think she was glad that we came. A very enjoyable experience. I was reminded that I don't eat at the Farmhouse enough.
Showed up at 7:30 for my reservation to find out it wasn't in their system so I had to wait for a table to be available ( approximately 15 mins). I ordered the apple pecan chicken salad that was supposed to be on mixed greens but was on a bed of straight arugula and the vinaigrette was extremely bitter. My boyfriends meal looked delicious he had the mac n cheese. Definitely not impressed with my meal. Extremely disappointed with the reservation being lost..... probably won't go back
Great food and excellent value. Really enjoyed the specials (sides) that included an unusual little salad with what tasted like house smoked trout. delish.
Excellent meal, superb service. We are going to use it for our wedding. The meal was one of the best restaurant meals we've had in a long time. Well done
2 different steak cuts and both not cooked to request. Asked for medium rare, received raw and had freezer burn type toughness to outside.
As always, the food was cooked to perfection!! The server was very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.
The noise level was higher than desired for conversation at our table, but all in all it was a wonderful evening!
We will definitely be back!!
A wonderful experience. Highly recommend this beautiful restaurant!
The food was awesome but the drinks weren't great.
The food was great but the service was below par. We ordered an appetizer which we never received, our waiter never came to check up on us, to see if we had everything we need etc. He didn't even bring us our food, it was another girl who gave us our food and got us a glass of water because our waiter was not attending to us. When he finally came to ask how our meal tasted, we told him we didn't receive the appetizer and still charged us for it, when he finally ordered it for us which we didn't want it then because we had already eaten our main course. I don't think we should of had to pay for the appetizer we didn't initially receive, as had we had not asked, he definitely would not have noticed it wasn't received.
Honestly, I have come here many times and have never been disappointed in my meal until now. It was not a good all around experience this time. My eggs benedict were over cooked and dry. Waitress wasn’t around much for me to mention it to and I was starving...so I still ate it...in and out in 30 minutes...and it was Mothers Day. 😐
Our only complaint was the waiter forgot to bring my water after requesting. But otherwise the food was fabulous, the wait time for food was very reasonable, and the ambience fantastic. Will definitely be back!
It was good food. Easy to book a reservation online. It was weirdly loud. Like very loud. But overall great food
