Really short on wait staff.. took a long time to order . I really like the restaurant but it can be quite loud on main floor
Great romantic dinner with a beautiful view.
Great & filling food very fresh
I felt that it. Was not very classy , it’s more of an everyday burger joint . I came for my wedding anniversary expecting a fancier place as per reviews . They have a laminated on page menu with mostly bar food , the tables are very close to each other so you can hear everyone’s conversations . The servers are nice and no complaint on the service I just think from the outside the place looks very promising where inside it’s very low key great for a beer and a burger but not an experience .
A good meal as usual, service was good, not rushed and a good place to have a lingering lunch
Great spot for brunch. Good food, good service. Would be nice to have some lower tables on the upstairs deck, otherwise great!
They did not honour our reservation time at 8pm. The party prior to ours was taking their time with no intention of leaving. The restaurant would not ask them to leave and we had to wait until after 8:30 to be seated. Most restaurants have no problem politely asking loitering customers to move to the bar or something. Don’t take my reservation if you can’t accommodate me.
We unfortunately were not impressed with the upkeep of the farmhouse. Upon our arrival I went to the restroom , going down the stairs the handrail was filthy and the bathroom unkept and run down. The food was ok. Our waitress was lovely and super friendly. Just not for us
The Farmhouse is one of my favourite restaurants and never disappoints.
The time we spent at The Farmhouse was extremely pleasant.
We were meeting up with family we hadn't seen in 1 1/2 years, and the waitress was very considerate and allowed us extra time to talk, both before our meal and after.
The meal was exemplary; I had the Chicken Apple Walnut salad and it was really tasty, fresh, and abundant. There was more than I could finish. My husband's burger was well cooked and delicious (according to him).
We sat outside on the lower patio, and we were not crowded, and we were comfortable.
We will be back!
We barely saw our server the whole meal. We asked for more chips for our appetizer and by the time she brought them out (after reminding her and finally asking someone else) they came out with the entrees and the dip was cold. She put our meals at the table and only came back at the end to give our bills. My meal was absolutely terrible. The mashed potatoes were old and stale and could be picked up like a hockey puck. We will NEVER come back to this restaurant.
My husband had the tenderloin steak and it was amazing. I had the cobb salad and was very disappointed . The chicken seemed to be left over and dried out , and the avacado was old and turning black . I would go back but will not order the cobb salad.
Great experience with my 7 month old grandson. The staff were very accommodating
Wonderful food and great service on an amazing patio. A little pricey on some items, but the food was delicious.
Happened to be driving through the city and wanted a place for brunch. Food was decent and service was good. We chose the place given its description of waterfront patio...this is quite a stretch but better than other patios I guess. Portion sizes were decent. Good value. Would encourage management to create a uniform or some guidelines as waitress attire was questionable and not overly professional.
Best Beef Dip I have ever had. Service was excellent. Will come back.
Always a great meal, never disappointed
Lovely patio with a view towards Kempenfelt Bay, but plenty of shade.
The buttermilk fried chicken was perfect! As was the homemade fresh lemonade w/ vodka!
Great food and amazing service. Definitely returning customer and hopefully no storms in the forecast to enjoy the patio
Food was great and so was the service. I do find the wine a bit overpriced.
Food was very tasty
Beer was interesting we tried a raspberry style over all a great night
Great last day of Barrielicious, friend and I had pork tenderloin (amazing), beef dip (I didn’t enjoy as much, it was good, but flavour wasn’t what I expected I guess? Not knocking it though, the quality was still very good), muscles and potato skins for starters (both superb), and mini cheesecakes for dessert. Again, awesome. Light and creamy cheesecake. Will definitely be going back.
Overall very good
The service was over the top
I would recommend to a friend because I’ve been before and had way better experiences. We went for Barrie liciois. Our reservation was 8pm, we didn’t get our starter until 8:55. Food 9:30. I understand it was busy but everyone around us got there food and stuff a lot faster. Even our drinks we ordered there was a huge delay.
Our server kept apologizing; I felt bad but we had babysitters and stuff and didn’t expect to be eating for 2.5 hours.
Food was great, unfortunately the delay in service is why I had a bad experience
Also, food portions were bad. Very small for the price.
It was a good experience for my first time there. Felt it was also great value with the Barrielicious menu.
Excellent menu & food was amazing as always. Love the Farmhouse!!!
Nice menu selection. Trout small size, salad had little dressing, no taste. It’s a nice place to go, great location.
A couple of our choices were unavailable. The chairs on the balcony are quite uncomfortable. We will try another night & choose indoor seating for a hopefully more satisfying experience. Not written off yet!
Really great food. Large portion sizes. Great sta#.
Booked Farmhouse during the Barrielious event. First time there. Sat upstairs. Big tree in front
needs trimming to see the lake.
Bruchetta came in a very hot pan with pita bread that I had to make. (expected on a baguette.)
Beef dip..again thought baguette. Got a seed hamburger bun with opague colour beef. Awful!
My husband orders the maple and beer glazed pork loin..it was a porkchop! and our salads were in a
small jar! 3 bites! and the dessert was 2 bites! I thought Barrielious was to help promote business for restaurants but your food was not worth the $100.00!
Also, the restaurant needs some TLC. Will not go back.
The exterior patio and interior very in need of some TLC. Very ho-hum menu with little creativity and quite limited. Not at all what we expected after watching it talked about for many years on city tv. Having said that, the place was very busy so I guess most patrons are very satisfied.
While the service wasn't fully attentive, the food (both in taste and appearance) made up for it. Highly recommend the mussels as an appetizer! Great value during Barrielicious.
The meals were good, I had the beef dip, thin on the meat. dessert was limited as I am lactose intolerant. The cake/berries were poor quality. Cake was dried out
very loud facing the street- seats on patio are horribly uncomfortable metal chairs as is the table. some cushions and a table cloth would go a long way... as would a coat of paint. Has potential to be amazing however seems a bit unkept... food was good.
Went there to celebrate a birthday and the experience was really good. The value for five people was unbelievable, the food was delicious and the service was great. It was a little noisy but all in all a great experience and I would definitely return.
Best place for a perfect steak!
Best value for a steak during Barrielicious ❤
Fantastic food however the noise level on the second floor made conversation very difficult - we left and went somewhere else for coffee so we could talk without shouting. We would go again and try the main floor.
When received menu noticed that there were no explanations on food menu items. Picked on a whim. Ordered their buttermilk chicken appetizer. Was disappointed. 3 small over battered chicken pieces that were burnt on a dry tasteless piece of garlic bread with a small pickle slice on each piece of chicken. Husband ordered the trout with Mac and cheese side as entree. Mac and cheese portion was not even large enough for a child and fish was bland and seasoned poorly. For dessert husband ordered Oreo cheesecake which was a glob of cream cheese mix in small mason jar with an Oreo stuck in and mixed berry topping. I ordered the berry shortcake with “maple syrup whip cream”. The server even made a point of emphasizing the whip cream. When dessert came was a dried out sponge like white cake with berry topping and spray can whip cream, no maple syrup flavour at all.
It was our 34th anniversary, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. We sat outside, upstairs overlooking the lake it was beautiful. The food was amazing....the beef tenderloin was the best I’ve had in a long time. We went mid afternoon so we wouldn’t be rushed and could take our time to saviour the whole experience.
To be honest I was disappointed. Table still had poorly wiped glass rings on it. I had the romaine salad and found the serving size incredibly small even for me. Also had the pork loin that while tasty, had a huge amount of fat not trimmed off - about a quarter of it was fat around the outside. The apple slaw with it was great. Had mac'n'cheese side; was dry and flavourless and half a small serving bowl. Husband's salad, he ordered because it said it had onions, had none. His rib steak was perfect ($12 upcharge). Had the berry short cake thing for dessert, cake part was very dry and there just was never going to be enough compote to fix it. Our server never asked if we wanted tea or coffee with it. Yep, very disappointed.
Overall the food was good. The portions were adequate and very tasty. The chocolate dessert was excellent, but the berry shortcake had no taste. The service was also very good.
