    Meal was delicious, service was excellent. Food portion size was relatively small, but excellent flavour and presentation. Perfect place for a date night, beautiful ambiance. We will be back :)

    This was our 2nd time dining here.It was my boyfriend's birthday.The complimentary Cava was a nice surprise.We were seated beneath an AC unit so we were both chilly and restaurant was full so I ate with my jacket on.Ordered rib steak and Arctic char.Rib steak was stringy and cold, vegetables were great.Char was very good also.Manager Peter asked about our meals and quickly replaced my boyfriend's steak with the prime rib steak which was so much better (much appreciated)Overall, we enjoyed our dinner and celebration.....just a couple of hiccups.

    We booked an early table for 5pm so we coukd go to the Art gallery of Nova Scotia after dinner. There were other early diners and a nice ambience. We have been here once before, about a year ago and enjoyed it. After a friendly greeting we were taken uostairs to our table. The service was excellent and so friendly. We shared the crab cakes starter...delicious. i had the shrimp tagliatelle and my wofe the chicken and corn and bith mains were well oresented snd tasted great. There was a choice of 3 deserts and pur choices were aldo lovely. Overall we had a fantastic time in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. I have seen some reviews discussing dress code. Althoigh we were "smart casual" there were diners in t dhirts and non-dress jeans with no issues so i eoukd guess just chill and wear ehats cpmfortable for you.

    The restaurant helped us celebrate our wedding anniversary. They went out of their way providing a superb seating location, flowers for my wife, and a specially prepared dessert. We highly recommend Five Fishermen and will return.

    Great spot for our larger party, Food was great and the sever(Charlie) was a treat! she was very attentive and overall this was a great experience! Food was overall great reviews, the mussels were under cooked but other than that everything was exceptional. Thanks so much for making our night a night to remember with great family and friends!

    Absolutely outstanding ambience, every course of the meal—every item, server was charming and very helpful. We will be back before we leave Halifax at the end of our vacation — it was one of the nicest, best tasting, ambient, and great staff in the world— and we are picky!!!!!

    We had an amazing experience here. We are on our honeymoon and our waitress, Laura, made us feel so special the entire evening. The food and service were phenomenal, not to mention the history and stories shared with us about the historic building. 10/10 would recommend and we will be back.

    Originally had a reservation at another place but it didn't work out. I'm glad it didn't because this was a wonderful experience for everyone. We had someone celebrating a birthday and they made her feel so special! The food is outstanding- everyone was really impressed with their meals. The ambiance is incredible- we were lucky enough to learn about the history before hand and that really enhanced our experience. Thanks to everyone at Five Fisherman

    Fabulous- Lovely - Decadent ! The best flavors that have touch my tongue… we enjoyed our evening and experience … highly recommend the Scallop crudo, the Halibut and the Scallop dinner .

    Portions are small for the price. Food quality is good. Service was excellent however the place was not busy at all so not sure how it would be on a busy night. Saw a rat run across the dining room floor at the end.

    A great seafood restaurant. Service was faultless. We both had the five fish experience as mains. A cracker of a meal. 9.5 out of 10. We would have rated it 10 out of 10 if the seafood had been uniformly hot. We realise that bringing together 5 different seafoods cooked 5 different ways is a big ask. The mushroom risotto base was very good too.

    We had dinner at The Five Fishermen while visiting Halifax from London, Ontario. This building is absolutely beautiful. It is one of oldest buildings in Halifax, surviving the explosion in 1917. Beautiful stain glass windows imported from England. I loved the decor and ambiance. Our server was outstanding! She was super welcoming with champagne and just overall made us feel very special. We asked about the building and she was able to tell us the history of the building which we were fascinated with. We had the crab cakes, arctic char, halibut and a dessert tray of all the desserts offered. The food was nicely presented, cooked perfectly and tasted very good. I would have preferred a fingerling potato or baby reds over couscous or lentils. I think the desserts could be improved on. Overall we really enjoyed ourselves.

    It is a beautiful restaurant but definitely not worth the price. My mom got the five fish experience and there was no half lobster tail. From the four meals we had at our table 3/4 had very small portions. The server came to our table only twice...the manager came just as many times. Not worth the money.

    Elegant yet traditional but also innovative - vegetarians enjoy their own menu (and vegan chocolate cake is available!) and the conventional menu is filled with local delicacies from land and sea. Thank you to Keira, Chrystal, Kirsten, and Dafina for making our 2 visits so special! A special shout out to Chrystal who really went the extra mile to make us feel like very special guests! And Dafina taught us some fun historical facts about the property! Outstanding menu and staff, we'll be back!

    Lobster overcooked Truffle fries cold soggy cheese almost non existent, a few shreds here and there probably cheap Parmesan and definitely no truffle oil 5 fish risotto, cold and lobster overcooked Halibut, mediocre, nothing to say about it Not worthwhile A long wait for food The waitress was extremely professional Let down by the kitchen! Lobster and oysters taken off the bill

    My wife and I ate there on a Friday and the food varied from good to utterly fantastic. Each of us had a dish that was mind-boggingly good (scallop crudo, oven-roasted halibut) and we each had a dish that was just a bit too bland (tomato salad, arctic char)

    Everything about the experience was good except that they no longer have valet parking and we had to park at a parkade as street parking is extremely selective and non-existent.

    Food was good. Had a hair on our drink glass. It was replaced. Steak was asked med rare but got blue rare. Refire was good and added extra veg. Seafood was incredible. Chowder was thinner than i hoped and made me sad

    We went there for dinner after our wedding ceremony. They rolled out the red carpet as far as service goes. Ruby our server was an incredible energy who took care of us. Thank you for a great experience. Edyta & Ian France
