This restaurant came highly recommended as we were looking for a nicer restaurant providing local seafood. The food was great, however the service left much to be desired. We were placed in a corner of the restaurant, near an exit door that lead to the bathrooms. Certainly not the ambiance I expected at a restaurant like this. Our server was nice enough, however I had to ask her to light the candle on our table, and provide water which was never refilled. It seemed as though we were placed in a forgotten corner, and even if it was busy or she was overwhelmed, as a former server I’m aware of ways to handle these situations.

We were welcomed the moment we arrived and our server was personable made a connection with us and always made sure we were enjoying our food and experience. The entire restaurant was friendly, even when we went to the restroom immediately another server made sure we were shown the direction they were located. We celebrated my husband’s birthday and we picked the perfect place. The seafood was excellent from appetizers Seafood chowder and crab cakes to our main course of seafood melody and tuna tartar as the desserts all succulent. Ordered the warm tomato salad ($18) and Shrimp toast ($18) as appetizers and filet and lamb rack for mains w/ side of truffle fries and mushroom risotto. The portion size for both appetizers were shockingly small. Tomato Salad Felt the tomato (consisted of less than a handful of wedges) was not heirloom, perhaps it was but the quality was not there. The dish was also under seasoned. Poor representation of a tomato salad. Shrimp Toasted This dish was also not seasoned properly. 3 shrimp cut in half, placed on a soggy piece of toast. Shrimps were not marinated in tarragon vinaigrette and squid ink cracker stale. Filet Cooked to temperature however both filet and vegetables over seasoned. Peppercorn sauce lacked the velveting texture and balance (tangy, spicy, slightly smoky, and sweet flavors) one would expect with this sauce. Truffle Fries No truffle oil present. small amount of parmesan found at the bottom of basket. Lamb Cooked to temperature but again over seasoned. Mushroom Risotto By far the best item we tasted. Good flavor and seasoning on point. A disappointing meal for almost $300 dollars ( includes 2 glasses of wine)

This was our 2nd time dining here.It was my boyfriend's birthday.The complimentary Cava was a nice surprise.We were seated beneath an AC unit so we were both chilly and restaurant was full so I ate with my jacket on.Ordered rib steak and Arctic char.Rib steak was stringy and cold, vegetables were great.Char was very good also.Manager Peter asked about our meals and quickly replaced my boyfriend's steak with the prime rib steak which was so much better (much appreciated)Overall, we enjoyed our dinner and celebration.....just a couple of hiccups.

We booked an early table for 5pm so we coukd go to the Art gallery of Nova Scotia after dinner. There were other early diners and a nice ambience. We have been here once before, about a year ago and enjoyed it. After a friendly greeting we were taken uostairs to our table. The service was excellent and so friendly. We shared the crab cakes starter...delicious. i had the shrimp tagliatelle and my wofe the chicken and corn and bith mains were well oresented snd tasted great. There was a choice of 3 deserts and pur choices were aldo lovely. Overall we had a fantastic time in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. I have seen some reviews discussing dress code. Althoigh we were "smart casual" there were diners in t dhirts and non-dress jeans with no issues so i eoukd guess just chill and wear ehats cpmfortable for you.

Originally had a reservation at another place but it didn't work out. I'm glad it didn't because this was a wonderful experience for everyone. We would have rated it 10 out of 10 if the seafood had been uniformly hot. We realise that bringing together 5 different seafoods cooked 5 different ways is a big ask. The mushroom risotto base was very good too.
