The ambience was lovely and I hope to return in spring or summer to enjoy the outdoor view. The service was impeccable, including a friendly and attentive server (Kade). Food was great, the French onion soup was stellar. Would definitely return!

It was my first time going to brunch at the gates, my brought my bestfriend from out of town. Lovely place, a little too quiet in the area we sat, but the windows brought in a lot of natural light which was beautiful because it was such a sunny day. If you’re looking for a more chill and less quiet spot, maybe request to be seated near the buffet area with the booths. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and did an amazing job tending to our needs. The chefs did great and came out from time to time to make sure the food was always full.

I took my husband there for his birthday, we were very impressed with our service and the whole atmosphere. The salads we chose were house and the beet both were not very good we didn’t finish either. The house salad tasted as if there was nothing but oil on it I had to ask for more dressing but that didn’t help it was tasteless. The beet salad I expected more beets and goat cheese it was just a lot of the salad greens served with it. The French onion soup looked beautiful but tasted off. The rest of the meal was fantastic! Including the surprise crème brûlée with a sparkler. All in all I would go back for the main course and keep trying other things on the menu.

The service and ambience were very good. However, the food was somewhat mediocre, especially considering the price point. Some of the dishes like the smoked salmon were quite good, while others like the pasta salad were decidedly bad. Overall we enjoyed our meal but felt that the food quality was a bit of mixed bag and overpriced for the quality.

Atmosphere was very beautiful but the room was so quiet that you had to whisper and could practically hear the next table chewing. No background music was played which we found odd. Bread served before the meal was very dry but service was great and the appetizers and main course were delicious.

Wonderful evening out to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We’re still a bit cautious about Covid and really appreciated the huge booths and the open room. The piped in jazz was perfect for relaxing and enjoying a pre dinner bevy. The food was excellent. We ordered the pasta with scallops and scampi as well as the prime rib. Both dishes were wonderful. If I had to find a complaint, the garlic mashed potatoes were tasty but a bit over salted. Didn’t detract from the rest of the food though. Didn’t keep me from eating most of the potatoes either!! Service was also excellent. Friendly and attentive and didn’t rush us. Definitely recommend.

Chateau Briand for two is Not worth the price nor does the menu reflect the dish. A lot of vegetables not listed on the menu. Beware of allergic reactions as items added without being listed or explained. Owner/manager when asked why not listed on the menu becomes offensive and rude. Many other restaurants to eat at where the dish reflects the menu and lives up to expectations. Overrated

A lovely evening out for my wife and I. The service was excellent, as always, and the food was marvellous. If I were to try and suggestion for improvement, it would relate to onions. We had two side dishes contained quite a lot of them (the menu didn’t mention onions at all on those dishes!)I have a strong aversion to that ghastly vegetable, and would like to have known before ordering.

Food was fair. Not great. Steak wasn't the best cut, causing it to be chewy. Garlic mashed potatoes were runny and flavourless. Not appetizing. Linguine sauce flavour was poor, didn't enjoy it too much. They put in olives when asked for them to be removed, and next time I'd ask for no garnishes (too much parsley for my taste). Dry ribs were too fatty, not enough meat. The french onion soup had too much bread to it and not enough broth. If I returned I'd ask for a different area than what seemed like a sun room. It wasn't a comfortable room for me, not a great view (roads and parking lot). Though we got it all to ourselves since there were few other customers at the restaurant, so the service was great and they were attentive.

3 of us split the Chateau Briand for 2 and still had leftovers to take home! The meat was served exactly as ordered (med rare) and was melt in the mouth tasty. The bearnaise was soooo good! The au jus was right up there too. Mushrooms good, asparagus, red pepper and broccoli all crisp and crunchy. Garlic mashed potatoes were overly salty. Martinis were very dry (as ordered) and perfectly chilled. Thanks for a lovely dinner.
