Food was great. There were lots of variety from appetizers to mains to deserts. Service was great and the wine was on sale for $20 off a bottle. Good stuff!! You gotta eat here.
Seems like a great place for groups. A bit too noisy for couples dining at least on Saturday evening
A hidden gem!!
The tagliatelle was not the best I have ever tasted. The dried dill subtracts from the taste. I usually have pizza and I recommend it. The pizzas are excellent. Most of the wines are expensive except the house wine. There is only one choice for red and White House wine.
Great service, great food and great wine. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Food was not overly complex, well-prepared and delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. Nice ambience. Felt very warm and welcoming. Would definitely go back.
Very nice dinner with friends. We are a group of 6 who enjoy wine and great food and we were not disappointed. One of us has severe allergies and food sensitivities and they had not problem finding a nice meal. Although not greatly disappointed, all of the wines listed were not available, which was a bit of a challenge of a couple of us. Nevertheless, the server worked very hard to find an appropriate wine to serve 4 of us.
We liked the opportunity to enjoy small plates, salads, large dinners and dessert. The servers were attentive yet did not intrude. As we wanted conversation, we appreciated the accomodation in the round table.
this is not fine diningbut it is fun funky and clever the small plates are partocularly good
Had a great experience here as the staff was excellent and wine and food delicious!
My wife and I ordered the burger / fried and a bottle of wine. I expected a little more than McCain frozen fries, the burger was ok, while the meat was tasty the overall burger experience was not great as quarter way through the burger the bun was soggy and no longer enjoyable for that reason I would only give it 3 stars and that's being kind.
This is our second time here and we are just in love with the place! So comfortable, easy going, don't feel rushed at all. Love the busy vibe! The menu is excellent....it is like looking at all my favourite foods...what to choose is the problem! Love the shareable appetizers! The service is great! Wish this was my local....I'd be here all the time!!
I had been to this restaurant once before in October and really enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. So it was easy to decide to bring my girlfriends here for a casual get together. Unfortunately, although the atmosphere was still fun and energetic and the service was good, the food was disappointing. The roasted brussel sprouts were still raw inside, the Caesar salad was boring. On a high note though, the pappardelle dish and the mushroom soup were well done. Both dishes had lots of flavor.
A bit disappointed with this stalwart on this outing. Might have been a bad night in the kitchen but the appetizer special (simple Brussels Sprouts) was undercooked and underwhelming; my special was OK but a bit over priced, undercooked, bland veggies. Will probably come back again for beer, burgers and pizza but if it had been the first time, probably not. The restaurant is generally showing some wear as well and the washrooms also need attention.
I liked the fact that we could share the plates of delicious foods!
The food selection and quality were both okay. Nothing special. Service was very good though.
We made a reservation for the patio for 18 people, and the reservation to stay on the patio was confirmed by one women in the morning, but finally they allowed us to stay there for only 30 minutes and asked us to move inside... too sad because the weather was sunny and we were already sitting on the patio!
Another great meal on their wonderful patio
Great location, yummy food and wine.
Luvvv going to GM. Just would have liked to have the option to sit outside in the deck after the wind died down the night we were there. On a beautiful summer day or night you could ask your guests if they want to move outside if the weather changes during the course of their meal. Blankets and/or heat could be offered.
Great cood, great service. A bit too dark for my liking
Always a good place to relax and enjoy good food and drinks. The set menu is not extensive (it fits on one page) but there are always a number of specials in the form of small plates as well as entrees. The staff is always attentive and we’ve never had anything less than a great meal. The one thing they stand out for is the bread pudding for dessert, a hold over from the previous restaurant, Jack’s Grill. You can’t go wrong here.
Every time we walk over to The Glass Monkey, It gets better and better each time. From the moment you walk in the door and are greeted by the most friendly staff that makes you feel at home to the waiters/waitresses that have an amazing knowledge of what pairings would be best for each meal as well as daily specials that let you know there is some serious cooking going on in the kitchen. The wine and beer selection is spectacular as well as the rotating taps that feature some of the best local brews that one must sample. One of Edmonton's true gems.
We ordered a couple simple applies. Obviously requires no prep so that came out in a few minutes. However, our meals came out nearly immediately afterward! We barely had time to have one bite of appy. In addition this leads to the perception that the mains are not "fresh." This left us feeling rushed. We weren't disappointed in the mains at all, but at least 5-10 minutes in between is appropriate.
Server was attentive and friendly and the food was excellent.
Wonderful outdoor patio. Completely secluded, with colorful hanging baskets and a beautiful large tree with fairy lights. Perfect place to enjoy a nice summer evening in Edmonton! The food and wine options are great. Go for snacks, small plates or full entrees. Something for everyone. Fun, casual, yet inventive. If you're looking to get out of the upscale chain restaurant (e.g., Earl's, Moxie's) rut, this is the place to go.
We went here for Father's day, we had lived in the area for a long time but hadn't had a chance to try it yet. I made a reservation for 8 and we had 2 young children with us. The staff was very accommodating and our table was large and not at all crowded. While there isn't a children's menu they have lots of things that do appeal to kids (mac and cheese, Hawaiian pizza, poutine). The bottled beer selection is huge but can be pricey depending what you order. We ordered 3 small plates to share, the flank steak, the Argentinian shrimp (special on the fathers day menu) and the chicken yakitori. The food was fast and cooked perfectly my only complaint was the size of the portions for the price (3 or 4 tiny thin pieces of flank steak and a basket of bread, 4 shrimp and 2 pieces of chicken thigh all between 5-16 dollars each)- although the server let me know as soon as I ordered it how much it came with and was willing to make modifications such as put the aioli on the side for us. For our mains we tried the mac and cheese, the Hawaiian pizza, the butter chicken, the chili, the poutine, the fish (salmon with Thai curry) and the handmade pappardelle. The portions were large and everything was delicious and cooked perfectly but the butter chicken was definitely the star of the night and the dish I would come back for. We didn't order dessert as we had cake waiting at home for us but the server brought the kids a small piece of cake each to go for fathers day anyway which was very nice. The service was outstanding and I would definitely recommend stopping here if you haven't tried it.
A small local gem where the food is always good. A nice enclosed patio for fine weather enjoyment
Another great meal and fabulous service. All our meals were delicious!
We were celebrating a birthday. The waitress acknowledged that right away.
We had a shared dinner. Arancini was a special appt & very good. Then meatballs & roasted broccoli . After that we shared a plate of butter chicken with rice & naan bread, with the green beans. All was delicious!
The birthday girl got a shareable piece of cake, which was a nice end to our meal!
Ordered the burger with mushrooms. Server ask how I wanted it cooked which was a nice option. I followed up with the jacks grill bread pudding. My wife had the pork with the lemon pudding. Both meals were quite good. The server was very attentive.
Despite our reservation the hostess appeared to be unprepared for us. There was no table reserved, she sat us at what I feel was one of the worst tables in the restaurant.
Waiter was rude . Food was great!
Awesome food awesome service
Great evening with a friend!
Amazing food and excellent service as per usual. The owner and his staff always go the extra mile to ensure your dining experience is top notch! Highly recommend!
Glass Monkey is very well located for get/together! The room is comfy & menu diverse. Service friendly with great wine list!
Meatball appie was very good as was beet salad! Salmon & flank steak special well received!
This is a very pleasant place for a casual meal. We particularly enjoyed the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce. The house red wine went well with the steak. And the bread pudding is one of our perennial favorites. There is a bit of a sports bar atmosphere at one end of the room, but it wasn't too noisy.
Once again, The Glass Monkey has proved to be just the right place for a special meal. We had both a toddler and child with us, and both found food on the menu that suited them, and kept them busy eating. The service was wonderful, both friendly and attentive. The food is always good, and we have to try hard to try new items, because we all have our favourites. There is no doubt that we'll be back!
Very friendly greeting and service. Our party found the service a bit rushed
Very attentive service. Hailey knew her wine list and made a good recommendation for a Malbec.
The mushroom thin crust pizza was outstanding, along with very respectable chicken wings. The roasted beet salad is a “must order.”
Didn't know about 1/2 price wine on Monday but it was a great surprise when I saw the
-$19 on the bill.
Though we did not eat on the patio, it seemed to be very popular.
