We visited the Greedy Goose for our wedding anniversary. It was quiet being midweek, but it was still a cosy atmosphere . Food was excellent, with a range of dishes. Wine list was varied and extensive. Service was also excellent. Definitely one for special occasions, but well worth it
Myself and partner frequented this restaurant regularly, & it was our favourite restaurants in the area. On this visit however the menu has changed (I know this is normal for restaurant, but there is a taste change in the quality of the food) or the chef has changed as there is a noticeable difference in the quality and taste the food... Don’t get me wrong, it was nice, but not the normal high standards & great taste we have come to expect at the greedy goose.
Exquisite food and a lovely evening. Would highly recommend for a special occasion.
We have been to the Greedy Goose a few times and it is always a great experience. The quality of the food is excellent as is the service provided.
Delicious food in a beautiful courtyard setting. Good value for money for early bird dining. Tempting cocktails and plenty of choice of wine. The waiting staff were a bit rushed at times but they were as attentive as they could be. We will certainly go again to round off a day out in Plymouth.
Yet another incredible meal that blows all other competition out the water. Beautiful venue with amazing service from knowledgeable staff. The food is to die for!
P.S- Why are you still reading this.... book a table and grab your keys!
What a lovely building with the most attentive of staff and gorgeous food. We both had the Crispy Duck Egg starter with hollandaise and asparagus, pea and broad beans with just a hint of mint....absolutely delicious. My husband had the steak and I had the Lamb Cannon, both meats cooked to perfection, meltingly tender and served with perfectly cooked veggies. A wonderful bottle of multipulciano...greedy goose choc mousse and a cheeseboard completed the experience....thank you Greedy Goose we will return.
We opted for the 11 course tasting menu for the first time with the Greedy Goose. The service was very slow on this evening and the restaurant was not packed. The temperature of some of the dishes were not what was expected and for the cost of £240 for two, I didn't feel I got the experience that my money had paid for.
A real gem of a find, cannot fault it. Exquisite cuisine. Portions just right i think, not slabs of food but satisfying and well presented. Unfortunately, we had ordered dessert but it did take a while in coming, so we had to cancel it as we had to be at the theatre for a performance. Shame. In busier periods, you may have to wait longer as the food is individually prepared and much more thought goes into it; so factor that in if your time is limited or simply book 30 mins earlier.
Overall, highly rated and a wonderful, historical setting. Spoil yourself....
Lovely meal and excellent service Will be back Staff were brilliant Attentive but not intrusive
Amazing food, lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. I have dietary requirements and they were all easily met without me feeling like I was missing out!
Our first visit but as it was our 25th wedding anniversary we wanted to go somewhere special. We out al fresco in the stunning courtyard. The food was on another level, THE best we have ever eaten. Service was excellent but not to full on, nice relaxed atmosphere & the drink selection is amazing! They also made us a happy anniversary plate & gave us a card which was a really nice touch. Not to pricey, what you would expect to pay for food/service of a VERY high standard. We will go back!
It was my third visit to the Greedy Goose but this time we were saying farewell to a special friend who was returning back to Africa. The service was excellent as always and the food was delicious. They tend to change their menu every now and then so there's always something exciting on offer.
A unique atmosphere and excellent cuisine 5/10/5 great value
Not the first or the last time I’ll be going. Just lovely
Excellent food and service but very pricey. Worth it for a special occasion.
We enjoyed our meal very much and will be back with friends soon.
We booked in for lunch and sat in the courtyard as the sun was shining. We chose the 5-10-5 menu as it has some great choices. The food was excellent and the cherry parfait was to die for, stunning! We shall return soon.
Fabulous dinner, beautifully presented and served.
Delicious starter of Tartare of haddock, followed by delightful hake and orange panna cotta for desert.
So grateful that Plymouth has a fine dining restaurant
Well done Greedy Goose
We have dined here twice now and will again soon good food nice surroundings good friendly
staff and owners, pleasure to dine here when in Plymouth
Wonderful food and great service, as always. The best setting in Plymouth by far.
We had a lovely dinner on our return from honeymoon. The early evening dinner deal was creative and tasty, not too large but didn't leave you wanting more, just what we were after. But I think the best experience must be from the tasting menu which is what we are keen to return to do.
We were given a voucher to eat at the Greedy Goose for Christmas and went in June! Absolutely fantastic. It was a lovely warm evening and there was a BBQ being cooked in the open courtyard with live music which was wonderful. Had a delicious glass of wine there before going into the main restaurant for a really delicious meal. Had a wonderful evening. Have recommended it already and the people have already booked a BBQ on Saturday night.
Nice evening for Son's Birthday. Food was very good, service a bit slow but it was Saturday night and we were not in a hurry. Good place to eat for that special occasion.
Wonderful building and setting for a meal out. Amouse Bouche was amazing, interesting starter and main course menu, no wow factor in the desert menu. Masterchef presentation and portion size
Above and Beyond any other restaurant i'v been to- period. Certainly the finest restaurant in the South West. The staff service was outstanding and the food was equally breathtaking. I will be visiting again very soon!
A great deal of care and attention has been put into the menu and it shows, top team, top food!
If you haven't already- book a table asap
I had another excellent meal at The Greedy Goose. Service, food and atmosphere were really good and will certainly return at some point.
We celebrated my birthday at greedy goose prior to going to the theatre. We both had the 5-10-5 menu which was excellent . beautiful surroundings and very efficient and friendly service could not fault it and would recommend without hesitation .
I've been here numerous times and for different occasions from business meals, to dinner with the girls and dates with my husband. Everytime it's great. I've never had a bad meal or service here. Highly recommend!
Overall was disappointed, for the price would expect better service, food was “interesting “
Having lots of food intolerance the Greedy Goose offered several delicious dishes for me. Every single part of the 3 course meal was outstanding
The waitress informed me of the choices as soon as I had arrived which allowed me to feel comfortable and valued plus it put me at ease. I wasn't disappointed and had a wonderful evening in the courtyard with superb entertainment. I will definitely come back.
The food from the bbq was great, the singer was amazing and the staff were extremely helpful
A local haunt revisited with friends - great evening. Lovely food as always.
Fabulous building and even better food. A great experience. Service was superb.
We visited for our anniversary and it was such a delight. The staff had created such a lovely atmosphere and had even written as a card to acknowledge our anniversary which was a lovely addition. We went early evening to make use of the 5-10-5 menu. The food was lovely and the staff even offered us fresh bread and butter to start along with a goats cheese appetiser. The mains were also delicious which we accompanied by prosecco.
Sadly I chose a dish with cheese and as I have an allergy to cheese I was very sick after. Had I known I would not have chosen it. No doubt I should have checked first.
Very good food. Service could have been a little quicker, bearing in mind there were only a few tables occupied, but this did not detract from a good evening.
Meal was delicious ordered Appetisers the server just came along didn’t ask if we had finished with them and cleared them away. And we still had plenty left. Then while having the meal the server started to clear out plates and one of us was still eating. That made her rush and didn’t finish her meal. Can’t fault the food was lovely.
Excellent and caring service. Our second visit. Would recommend.
A very pleasant experience, such good value for money. Will visit again ,hopefully soon.
