About The Greek By Anatoli - Yaletown
Thomas Makris, from the Island of Skopelos, fell in love when he met Helen Babalos. They met at Orestes Greek restaurant in 1974, while on a Greek dancing tour of North America. Soon after their marriage, they had a vision to open a place like no other in Vancouver; a Greek restaurant where everyone is family; where everyone receives a consistent experience created by delicious homemade authentic food and impeccable service. In 1984 they opened Anatoli Souvlaki in north Vancouver. In 2011 their sons Alexi and Iani took over the restaurant and early 2015 they expanded on their parents original dream, in a new venture with their cousin Daniel Bergman, Alexi and Iani opened ‘The Greek by Anatoli’ in Yaletown. ‘The Greek by Anatoli’ focuses on small share plates or “mezze”. So come and experience the Greek by Anatoli.

The Greek By Anatoli - Yaletown Ratings and Reviews
Everything we ate on the menu was fantastic and so tasty!
The best lamb and saganaki!
We had a great time. We really enjoyed our dinner, and the great service.
The food taste is good but a little pricey for the amount. It is a Tapas style not your regular Greek restaurant serving style. You always pay more with Tapas style restaurant. Good for medium to less hungry.
Expected Greek music, or music more conducive to dinner, music too loud for dinner conversation. Food good, portions could have been larger for cost value. Excellent service. Tables too close together. Outdoor area looked okay. Not the ambience wanted for friends Birthday get together. Too casual- no Greek ambience. Did not want hockey game on tv. Or should have sat away sodudnt have tv in our direct vision. Was not what I expected. Probably only go for more casual lunch not dinner atmosphere
Delicious food, superb service, and overall a great evening
Just catching up with friends, the service was great and we had a nice time.
we were a party of 6 and our entrees were not serve at the same time and the bread for one of them took a while to arrive. the server wasn't that active as to look at our table so we had to ask for everything.
The food was very good so I suppose that compensated for the poorish service we received.
What a great find! This is now on our list of places to eat when in Vancouver! Excellent, knowledgeable service and fantastic delicious food! We just loved it!
Food wasn’t worth the price and the servers are not dressed appropriately for serving food. The crowd was also terrible and inconsiderate of others around them.
every time we come to the city we try to eat here. the best greek in the city by far, and the service is CONSISTENTLY phenomenal. my husband and i settled into a cozy table and filled the table with the most delectable dishes. the food came quickly and tasted divine. our waitress was the sweetest girl and accommodated all of our needs. i can't wait to return to the city to dive into another plate of saganaki. thank you greek by anatoli, you never disappoint.
Excellent good and speedy service
But stereo was blasting music, like we were in a dance club.
No way to have a conversation without yelling at each other
I am surprised the food was decent, the only one that didn't met our expectations was the lamb chop. We asked for well done but it came in medium rare, the second one came in so burnt outside while inside still not well done. Other than that the food was good. Service was good and Server was nice.
Ps it was a cold day and they left the door opened. Pls close the door as it's getting too cold.
Great atmosphere, sat at the bar. Best Greek salad in vancouver .
Food was decent, but pricey. Service was lousy. Probably won't return.
Our food was excellent and the table service from the wait staff was pleasant and appropriately attentive.
The atmosphere is really good and I think it would be a good spot to sit at the bar and have a couple drinks, but we were there for a dinner celebration and it felt like we were a burden to the servers. They forgot multiple items (which is fine), but when we reminded them that we needed certain things (spoons, sugar & cream, the wine we ordered) they seemed annoyed. The food was average and the Greek salad was overly stylish (why do cucumbers need to be spiraled?). Wouldn't recommend it for dinner, but a good bar in the center of the restaurant with TVs.
We had a party of four celebrating a birthday. Birthday was never mentioned and our waitress was so disinterested it was disappointing and off-putting. The food was good, but nothing memorable. The platters were big enough for two people which our waitress did point out which was helpful. We enjoyed ourselves and the vibe was good for chatting - music non intrusive which we appreciated. The experience could have been more vibrant if the waitress had been a little more cheerful and interested in the dinner guests dining experience. It was all just a little flat.
Easy on-line reservation, good service, delicious food and satisfying portions.
Delicious food! Great atmosphere and very trendy restaurant!
House wine was off but I should have tasted it. They took care of the situation amazingly and offered a replacement.
Great place to get together, food portions are good , but very noisy.
The only negative was that I ate too much! Love this place!
One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Food was average, service was awful and slow, place was crowded and noisy and the places smelled like burning food from the kitchen. Don’t go! Save yourself the agony.
Wish we've been asked for the review prior to this time in particular.
Firstly, the manager who always ensured that every table is well served was not present and we believe our negative experience is due to the factor.
We didn't receive what we ordered and it came quiet late as well. But then when we expressed our concern they took away the order and told us they will fix it soon. And instead, our order took forever...
Therefore, as a result it ruined my meal as well because I was not comfortable eating by myself specially considering how hungry we both were as we didn't had our lunch.
Anyways, no one bothered to show any apologetic approach, remorse or compensated in anyway. It just appeared that the server was trying to stay oblivious. Which was very inconsiderate to us. My husband almost lost his appetite for his fav lamb chops. But , who cares...?
We missed the old staff of polite servers who cared.
Now consequently, we are totally put off with the idea of visiting again anytime soon or unless in sometime things change for the better.
Very good Lebonese cuisine. Did not serve a couple of traditional dishes which you might have expected. All in an excellent restaurant in a vibrant Vancouver BC neighborhood!
Its very loud music for a restaurant! Other than that we enjoyed it.
Server ignored our table and when someone flagged down a server to actually tend to us she stopped to stare at us and then walked away without getting what we needed.
Food isn't any better than any other average Greek restaurant.
The fumes from the kitchen exhaust are terrible and must be addressed.
Too expensive for what they offer
Service just OK
Food and service were excellent as always....will return again
Great food and good ambience but a little bit too noisy
The saganaki was phenomenal! Great recommendation from our waitress
You will look past the dirty wine glasses and plates as the food is top notch. The smoke issue (coming from the kitchen) on the left side of the main entrance should be addressed; perhaps proper ventilation on the exterior of the building may be required. Regardless of the downfalls, I'll be back for the Greek salad and roasted chicken!
Was very good meal
Food was great, service wasn't very good. Server was miserable and didn't seem like she wanted to be there. Waited about ten minutes before I was asked if I wanted a drink.
It's more good for single and large group, very fun and well decorated. Beautiful people.
Great spot. We had beer, pita & Tirosalata. That roasted pepper/garlic/feta combination was amazing, something you need to try. The Greek salad was also very good. I was in town for work & always try to find great ethnic food. This restaurant is easy to locate, not far from downtown and a nice find. Enjoy!
Wow, this place never disappoints! From the tasty cocktails and friendly staff to the AMAZING food every time I'm in Vancouver I make a point of getting there.
We made reservations to be safe on a Saturday night but went early enough it probably wasn't necessary. This visit included two rounds of the Aphrodite cocktail (or Mighty Aphrodite as we affectionately call it), Saganaki (wow!), Tirosalata (a little kick and so tasty), and Haloumi Caprese. Only thing is you will need more pita for these fabulous dips! There were 5 women so we also ordered 2 entree dishes to share which were big hits: Country Lamb (literally melts off of the bone and includes some yummy veggies and rice), and Moussaka (classic favourite). We were all full, enjoyed some laughs and never felt rushed. Best thing - for the quality, it won't break the bank! Can't wait for our next visit!
It was all good except at your end
The reservation we made through you didn't show up at the resturaunt and we were annoyed
