The Hare & Hound is a great gastro-pub with excellent food and extraordinary views… but the noise level in the main, uncarpeted room is often intolerable and spoils the experience. Always asked to be seated in the conservatory.

The menu seems to be shrinking, but you can almost always guarantee that the food is good. Busy for a Wednesday evening but very attentive and enthusiastic waiting staff meant ordering / getting food was simple and quick. Really appreciated the extra treat given to our dog by the waitresss. The experience also for not having the shouty chef! Thanks!

Disappointed and felt the place was reliant on a nice view. Frozen food. VERY overpriced. Lots of barking dogs and crying children (which is fine, but it's that kind of atmosphere) Toilets sticky and unloved. Staff friendly

Really good service. We had fish and chips, Caesar salad, squid and a trout pate to start. All very good especially the fish and chips. Lovely crisp batter, nice minty mushy peas, great chips.

My friend and I had the pork. The crackling on my friends plate was soft as it was in the gravy. The waiter kindly brought some more. The lunch was absolutely delicious. On the way out we noticed a jar on the bar with pork scratching in, the same as we had been served. We were most surprised!!

Had a really disappointing meal here yesterday evening. Disappointing on all levels. Service was poor - waited over 10 minutes before anyone took our drinks order. Waited over 20 minutes for staff to clear our plates when we finished our main meal. Still can’t quite understand how people on the decking can have pizza but if you sit a few steps up on the terrace then pizza isn’t available to you…. But if you sit on the decking you cant have food from the main menu. Very strange and hardly customer focused. The food we had was average at best and terrible value for money. Salt and pepper squid was £8.50 and was 6 thin squid rings. Buttermilk chicken wings was £8.50 and was three small chicken wings. Fish n chips was really poor. Looked like a frozen portion of fish rather than the fresh beer battered description and was £18.50! I eat out regularly and don’t mind paying for decent food and experiences but this was neither. There were four of us and we each had starter and main; 1 kids menu and 3 adult menus. 5 soft drinks between us and two glasses of Prosecco. Total bill was just short of £150. We left and went straight into town to get pudding for the kids as they were still hungry. Awesome and lovely location but food was incredibly over priced, small portions and none of it felt fresh. With all the choices in and around Bath we won’t be going back.

Had great time at the Hare and Hounds with family. Very helpful waitress, Amelia, who looked after us well. Nice food, atmosphere and fantastic views. Desserts were delayed but Amelia kept us updated and we weren't charged for them. Would definitely recommend.

Not impressed with quality of the food. Also order was wrong. Vegetarian breakfast was served with black pudding on it!!!!!!! Another plate was missing a sausage and tomato. We felt sorry for the staff as they were obviously under staffed.

Love the setting and views are stunning , atmosphere also great but we brought some friends with us for a Sunday Roast but unfortunately we were very disappointed with the food. The service was great so it was a shame as its a great place otherwise. Hopefully it was a one-off!

The location and ambiance were great. We went a bit late in the day on Sunday and as a result, our Sunday roast felt a little reheated. It was still good but the potatoes and Yorkshire pud could have been fresher.

As always, food was fantastic. We are not local but always find an excuse to come for dinner en route home from somewhere. Our food was delayed and the servers were very apologetic. We were not fussed about the extra delay so didn’t make a complaint but still took money off, despite us not making a complaint. Roast dinner is unlike anywhere else we have tried and that is why we will continue to return. The view from the beer garden is superb and amenities brilliant.

This is such a lovely pub. The views are fabulous. The roasts were really nice, especially the beef and the roast potatoes. The service was efficient and friendly. I would definitely recommend it.

We had a disappointing visit yesterday evening. Firstly the waitress would not serve alcohol to our two 21 year old daughters due to not having physical ID, despite being with their parents. The menu has not changed for months. The moules were in something that resembled Heinz tomato soup, the rest of the food mediocre but expensive. We have visited the Hare and Hounds many times and the setting is always lovely, but we will not be returning for food again.

Three couples who have been friends for sixty years. This is the second annual lunch, as Bath is easy for all of us. We all enjoyed lunch, and the atmosphere was great adding to the pleasure wer all got from seeing each other again.

Food was OK but V expensive sirloin steak quality was simply not good enough to justify that price of nearly £30 Carrot with pork belly - not cooked, rock hard chicken wings -burnt on outside It is a great pub but we have noticed that standards of cooking have slipped recently
