   I do really like this place, but the Sunday lunch was average at best. The meat (lamb and beef) was served in thin slices, which didn’t fit with the description of “slow roast” for me. The parsnip was raw and inedible, and there wasn’t enough gravy. For a £22 price tag I expected much more. We’ll return for the weekday evenings, but find another venue for Sunday lunch.

   The most amazing location with views out over the Bath countryside. Huge outdoor deck area is stunning in the Summer. Only downside was the amount of meat that was served with the Sunday roast, two tiny slices that were as thin as paper. The rest of the food was incredible.

   Asked for window seat when booking. It wasn't reserved and it was busy but they found us one in the conservatory with a lovely view. Food was excellent. Service friendly and professional.

   I requested a window seat when booking on line but was designated an inside table although the excellent hostess did find us a window seat - so all good. The bar downstairs could not include drinks 8BG my one tab with the table which was disappointing. Otherwise , all good !

   After reviewing the best Sunday Lunch venues on Trip Advisor. We were very disappointed with the food and service. Such a beautiful location and we were so looking forward to our dinner. The food arrived quickly but all of it was cold. Red cabbage missing from one plate in our party. I asked for some hot gravy to try and make the dinner warmer which was provided. I asked for mint sauce to accompany my lamb as it wasn’t offered and a small bowl was given but no spoon, do we used our forks as I didn’t want to cause a fuss. There were other issues and commotion happening with the party on the next table to us with their food which wasn’t pleasant to listen to. Our desserts came out at three different times and we had to ask and remind staff that we were still waiting for one which did eventually arrive with an apology. There was another incident with someone collapsing which I know couldn’t be helped but the whole experience left us very disappointed and despite the place being so lovely, we are unlikely to book again sadly.

   Very slow service and confusing with more than one person asking same questions! Food was average with poorly cooked meat and a small portion of meat .

   Had a nice Sunday lunch catching up with good friends. The service was a bit slow, but the staff were rushed off feet too as was busy in pub. The food was lovely so no complaints there. The ambience was a little noisy but ok. Then sat outside in the sunshine gardens and enjoyed the view. Will visit again.

    The pub is in a fantastic location in Lansdown. The views from the garden are lovely. There is an outside bar for people sitting outside and the area is clean and tidy. There is a play area in the garden for older children. The interior is a classy, classic British pub. Very nice. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Service is prompt. Just one thing… The food quality should be better for the price. It was mostly good and quite tasty, however I was served a sirloin steak that looked like it had been mummified. It should never have left the kitchen. The manager changed it for another one but by the time I got it everyone in my party had finished their food. The second steak was better but not brilliant. The manager graciously accepted my complaint and didn’t charge for the steak. These things happen. Overall this is a really nice pub and we will definitely be back.     Very nice welcome on arrival. Had to go to the bar to order drinks as nobody asked what we would like. Both ordered the beef burger which was fine apart from the poor quality roll. It’s advertised as a toasted brioche bun which it certainly wasn’t! It was a basic small white roll which was very disappointing as the quality of the burger was good. Please go back to the quality brioche bun that you advertise on your menu. Had to go to the bar to chase the bill at the end of the meal.

    Had the pan fried cod which was tasty but overpriced. The fish was about 2” big and the sauce was pretty much just melted butter and was £23.90. Our table also had the sausage & mash which was over powered by the mountain of garlic cabbage piled over the top of it. Atmosphere is always nice, the staff are friendly and the garden is amazing, just a shame the prices here seem to constantly be going up.

    Lovely location. Quality of food was very underwhelming for the price. My burger and chips (16.50) was exactly the same size as my sons kids burger and chips (6.95), and it was only burger and chips, some kind of salad or coleslaw side would have been welcomed. Service was fine, quite a long wait between courses, but they were busy so fare enough....

    Beautiful scenery and building from the outside . However inside there is a lot of staff but they didn’t seem overly organised . We were asked about our drinks order and we explained we didn’t get a menu and she said ‘ well roughly what would you want ‘ very abruptly and didn’t offer us a menu. Ordered a Diet Pepsi but got full fat ! Partners chicken was dry so sent it back , luckily it was much better and he enjoyed his food altho he didn’t get the gluten free bun he requested the first time round . Also Not sure why they put lemon on the cabbage slaw either it gives it a very odd flavour. Lovely table in conservatory looking over the gardens so would rate this pub to visit if you’re coming for drinks in the summer .

    Another lovely meal here , our son lives up the road and we love it here as we can bring his dog. Always friendly and lovely food. It was extremely busy when we arrived, all tables taken but we still had great service with a smile!

    Unfortunately two plates of the Roast Pork and one plate of the Chicken Supreme within our order was cold, and two plates of the Sticky Toffee Pudding was cold too. The staff rectified these issues for us and gave us a 20% discount but it took the shine off an otherwise lovely afternoon.

    The food sounded amazing when reading the menu. However, it took a very long time to arrive. When it did appear, it didn't really live up to it's description. The tantalising sound of cider braised pork belly with homemade crackling was actually rather dry and the cracking more like pork crackling crisps from a bag. The lamb was okay but not that tasty and the portions too small for my teenager! The location is superb and the views fantastic. Shame the food didn't live up to the surroundings.

    Great food and really fabulous service. Food is on the pricey side, but thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.

    We were quickly shown to our table and ordered drinks first. They came but my beer was cloudy so after some time it was replaced by the other real ale and that was cloudy too so I gave up and drank it anyway. The food was okay but was looking for a bit more in the plate as I don’t like Yorkshire puddings once that was taken off my plate it looked a bit sparse. The quality of the food was good. I was disappointed with the cheese board as I was looking for the advertised Cheddar selection but not one was on offer and unfortunately didn’t enjoy the selection given.
