Our Happy Hour food menu showcases some light snacks by our award winning instructors and students Specials on wine, beer, and cocktails are available for our Happy Hour! Please note: a reservation is required to join us for dinner at 6:00 PM and is based on availability of our classroom. We look forward to having you dine with us!

    Amazing restaurant. The food was great, the staff was super helpful, and the value is astounding for the level of technique on display in each dish. We ended up spending half as much as a typical fancy downtown restaurant and received the same quality if not better. It's an extra bonus to know you are supporting local students developing our culinary scene.

    We didn't know about this restaurant and I am so glad we found it! It's only 4 minutes away from the Jubilee Auditorium Theater, ideal for when you go to see a musical and want to have a dinner prior. The food is cooked by the students, the prices are very reasonable, the food is TOP quality. We also received a complimentary dessert afterwards that was plate full of samples!! I will attach a photo of this complimentary dessert.

    Amazing, Carlos was a fantastic wait staff, answered all questions. Had our beverages filled always, helped with food choices. The food was so good. Oh my gosh we wanted to try so many things on the menu. First the Appies, we tried 3 of them. The main course was so delicious I had the chef special and tried my boyfriend and sisters food too. All delicious. Needless to say we were very full. But the desserts sounded so good too so we shared 3 of them. Left super full but oh so happy. We will be back.

    excellent service and value. we go often. the change to the ala carte menu is not as nice as the previous preset menus . we appreciate the little extras a nd wine selection. thanks for a great evening. Our server Heidrick was outstanding. Very informative, attentive and great personality. We wish him success in his studies!

    Haven’t been here for many years and it was great to visit once again. The ambiance was a little disappointing because the room was very chilly and not as busy as I had expected. One of us kept her coat on throughout the entire night. Food was great and the service was pleasant. Server was a little nervous but with more experience she will be lovely. All around nice experience and will be back in the near future.

    The duck breast with rhubarb glaze and cauliflour was underseasoned, tastless, no glaze detected. I never had duck breast before and wouldn't ever order it again, it was rubber like and chewy. I felt ill and had an upset stomach for 12 hours after. The cauliflower was tasteless like it was watered down. Salmon was underseasoned and tasteless. Chicken dish was good. Pizza was good. Service was attentive and pleasant but English as a second language led to misunderstandings.

    We chose to dine in The Highwood for a birthday celebration, while other 2 tables in the dining area had special candle with their dessert, we did not. But the biggest let down was the steak entree, over cooked and the taste was absolutely bland next to no seasoning what so ever. Luckily Issac has provided excellent service, we look forward to our next visit.

    We were very happy with our dinner. Thanks for the great service and complimentary dessert as we were celebrating our anniversary. My only concern was our server was not familiar with the daily feature and had to read the details from a piece of paper. We will be back for sure. Thank you.

    We had the lobster ravioli special and while it was okay, it was not as good as I hoped. At the end of the meal I wanted something for dessert but was not hungry enough for the options listed in the menu. I asked if I could get a simple scoop of ice cream and was rewarded with the most delicious lavender ice cream. It was definitely the hit of the meal. It should be added to the menu because sometimes we just want something not too heavy and this ice cream was a wonderful end. It was served with a few berries in a lovely pottery bowl and was divine.

    Unfortunately we had a very poor experience with the food on a number of levels - the steak we ordered was so tough that it could hardly be cut with a steak knife (that item was very gracefully removed from our bill which was appreciated) however to be honest not overly impressed with the current menu and also really didn’t appreciate the amount of salt that was on everything even the bread. We will not be coming back until the menu is changed. Having said all of this, the service, ambience etc was very good as always.

    We have spent our last 9 anniversaries at The Highwood and enjoy ourselves every time. The students working in the kitchen or in front of house are so proud (and sometimes nervous) of the work they do and always try their hardest to do a great job. Plus, the food is always top notch and on par with any fine dining establishment in Calgary. We highly recommend this place to everyone we speak with. You will not be disappointed.
