The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Alberni
The food was outstanding, and the waiter, drew, was very welcoming and got us drinks because there was a ‘mix up’ that was quite unapparent. It was well worth the price. Both steaks were cooked precisely as they were ordered. We will be back :)
Our favourite Keg to go to. Always great food and service!
One of the first times a restaurant didn’t acknowledge a special occasion (a joint birthday) even though I had specifically mentioned it in the reso. Also the server got the order wrong, even though we clarified our request twice. but did apologize for it later.
The steak was under cooked & chewy, waitress didn't bother to ask why pretty much a whole steak was left. Lobster tails were good and the appetizers
The vegetable was really bland like they just don’t care for it. Steak I had last year around the same time just not the same. As for dessert, find it stale which it was not the waitress fault. Really friendly.
Steak undercooked (ordered medium rare) sent it back came back medium-well done. The size of steak shrunk noticeably as well. Lighting is awkward very intense light shining down directly from above and was difficult to look around. Questionable music playlist, not at all classy or peaceful. Sounded like I was in Boston pizza had to talk to partner louder than I normally would at a mid-high scale restaurant.
Everything was great as usual, and our server James was fabulous.
Server was very friendly, funny but polite, and knowledgeable as well. Even our boy was treated nicely. Food was great and ambiance is quite formal but not intimidating for some fun and laughter with family members! We'll come back for sure...
Other than my steak originally being a bit undercooked, (although they later fixed it), they gladly rectified the problem, and I will say that Bradley (our server), and all other staff that assisted us, were very kind and well mannered. We enjoyed another Birthday Dinner (our yearly ttadition), very much so!
Food was good, not amazing but good enough. Server must have been the "new guy". My son ordered a Pina Colada, waiter asked him if he wanted it shaken or stirred? I later ordered a Vodka Martini, he asked if I wanted it on the rocks or neat??? I told him that the bartender will know. He returned with a chilled glass and a small cocktail shaker. He gave it a quick shake and accidentally hit the top of the glass causing it (the glass) and the drink inside the shaker to explode all over the table and the floor. At least we didn't get glass or drink in our food, I think, or on ourselves. And we had to wait too long for it to be cleaned up, but now I'm probably just nit-picking.
A manager did come over to apologize, which was nice.
Muy rica la comida
it was good! cozy fancy nice
A reasonable meal at an affordable price. Good service and fodd well presented and of good quality.
Our experience overall was good but our steaks were underdone, more medium rare than medium, and lots of fatty chunks. Somewhat disappointing when you are spending over $100 for two steak and seafood meals to say the least. Everything else (seafood included) was good though.
The prime rib was awesome. We had great service as well !!
Thought KEG would be a safe choice for dine out vancouver but end up service was slow and prime rib over-cooked Even just by looking at it. Not sure what the chef was doing serving it. I am not a picky person usually but the experience was not satisfying at all.
Great night out with friends, food amazing, good waiter, music a little loud
We always find the food and service to be excellent. They have a simple menu and this is best as it is steaks and prime rib that they do the best.
For dine-out Vancouver, it was incredibly good value.
Noisy gursts and dark interior lights are somewhat uncomfortable. Meals are good enough to enjoy but its sirloin steak didn't meet my expectation. Steakhouse? I don't think so.
Excellent food and very good service.
The food was ok. It wasn't great. My steak was full of gristle and it wasn't cooked the way I wanted it done. The service was poor. Very little attention paid to our table. I don't know if he was just a bad waiter or he had too many tables.
We have been fans of The Keg for many years. The food is delicious and the quality is consistent. The Alberni location is dark and moody and has a romantic ambience. We reserved for the Dine Out menu and were very impressed with the caesar salad, mouth watering prime rib, double baked potato and of course the Billy Miner pie is a must have! The staff was friendly , courteous and efficient.
Food is not worth the $, fish over cooked and prime rib was not tender dispite being super fatty. Had to ask for more dressing for salad...
We did the dineout menu. It was a very good value. Our Prime rib dinners were delicious. The wine list has a very good selection and at very reasonable prices. The server was friendly and efficient, as also was the food runner. This was the second year we have done dineout at this Keg location. We have done dineout at other locations and always been impressed.
This food is delicious. This is exquisite. it is must must try food @THEKEG
We generally like the Keg, and our first visit to the Alberni location didn’t disappoint. Food (Prime Rib and the daily dpecial Bone-in striploin) were cooked to order. Having lived in Calgary for some time, we have been to a number of higher-end steakhouses, which reinforces the value that is the Keg.
Our server, Juan, was friendly, very likeable and was very good to ensure we were having a great evening. Top notch service.
Excellent service start to finish.
Steak was tough, fatty and mediocre at best.
Disappointed. It’s been a while since the keg impressed me. In the old days it was consistently great. Today, or my last 3 visits, it has been mediocre at best. Super sad because I build it up in my mind as a great meal about to happen. Then it happens.
Comfort food done well. Side dishes need updating, but food is consistent decade over decade. Very cozy atmosphere. Service was prompt. Would love to see more BC Beer on tap and Wines represented.
Been to the Keg many times. We are always seated in "the corner" with no view or ambience. Yet again, we were seated in not a very desirable location. However, after requesting a window seat, we were moved to a cozy window seat, which was really nice for a change.
Service and food was excellent. Loved the dessert and coffee.
I've have to the keg a few times and loved the steak Oscar .... always cooked right. The last time we went the steak came to me and I swear it moved...way to under cooked. Medium rare doesn't mean bloody murder 😥
Fantastic as always great food with great service, always a pleasure to visit
Love this location of the Keg. Food is always great, and the atmosphere is nice.
Had to wait for than 5 minutes just to.ge the menu
Service was incredibly slow even drinks took forever to come to the table I believe they were heavily understaffed.
This was my first visit to this Keg location and I loved it. The decor was luxurious and comfortable, the vibe from the staff was upmarket and professional. One always knows the ingredients at Keg are top drawer and the steaks are cooked perfectly. The Alberni Street location exceeded my expectations, I highly recommend the blue cheese filet mignon. Plwe paired dinner with a Robert Mondavi Woodbridge wine recommended by our excellent server. Can't wait to return to this Keg for another fantastic steak dinner.
Great service and the food was delicious, perfectly cooked. Great way to end 2018 and kick off 2019 :) Thanks!
As always the Keg delivered an amazing dining experience and delicious food. The staff at the Alberni street Vancouver location are always professional, polite and friendly. I would recommend this Keg restaurant to any and everyone that loves a good steak and beautiful uncomplicated food.
Food was good. Service was not great. We did go there for the food though.
Steak was way too salty. Will ask them to lighten up on it next time.
