The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Burnaby Ratings and Reviews
Disappointed that they no longer have the blackened steak, however, the New York strip was excellent. I don't recommend the BlackBerry fizz drink as it tastes like diluted soda. The atmosphere was perfect at 5 pm, but by the time we left just after 6, it was super loud and I was glad to be leaving. I was very impressed with the service. Our waitress was incredibly nice, smart, and accommodating. Definitely would go back - just not during peak hours.
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing. The table was split on the monkfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh. Everyone loved the flat iron steak. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable.
The Keg has always been a "go to" place to celebrate for me and my family. The four of us get the same order each time--four of the largest prime rib steaks on the menu. It looks like the prices have gotten higher and the portions have gotten smaller. Awww!!! My steak was thin. Even the baked potato was small. Also included was a very small amount of deep fried onion straws. We ordered four waters, no appetizers, no alcohol, and no dessert--$170 including tax and tip. It is so expensive to eat out.
Great service and great food:)
Always a good time at the Keg!
Great food and service. Our family enjoyed the Prime Rib and the steak so much.
Overall was a good night except when we left. The car that parked next to us put a dent in our fender when they opened their door. This kinda spoiled the evening.
Our waiter was so friendly and amazing. Kind, professional, yet personable, and excellent with making our meals and dining experience what we wanted! I can’t remember his name, but he said he was from Bosnia. He was probably the best waiter I’ve ever had, and we eat at many places!
Our server was excellent! The food was not bad, but the medium steak was a bit tough to cut.
I planned a surprise birthday dinner for my boyfriend and had originally booked for 7 people, there ended up being 18 of us! They were able to accommodate our large party and move everyone in time for the surprise moment. Overall great experience!
Had a wonderful time, thank you and Merry Christmas.
Ambience, service, and food were all excellent. We'll definitely be visiting again sometime.
Very good service and food was was cooked to specifications.
Family dinner for belated birthdays....server Anthony was awesome! He was super pleasant and brought the birthday boys billy miner pies! We could only make a reso for 415 but it was worth not having to wait in the long line of people waiting when we left around 6:)
Keg rarely disappoints! Had the baked brie to start... then the top sirloin.. and of course the Billy Miner Pie to finish. Steak was cooked well. Yums!
The server was very friendly, we were celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday and he was always cheerful and came by with a charming smile.
The server was great but the food was definitely over priced. I ordered escargot and they were too cheap on the sauce resulting in one of the escargots being left completely dry. The crap legs cost $22 but I only got 2 smaller pieces of leg with some meat and one long one with basically nothing in it but a few scraps.
Me and my girlfriend got foodpoisoning en are still not recovered from this. Spending this amount of money on food that made us sick is definitely not worth it.
Brad Mann was our server. It was our 39th anniversary and we like the atmosphere and food at the Keg, so he made this night a nice one for us! Thanks for making us feel welcome. Glad we chose the Keg!
Pleasantly surprised it was kid friendly for my 2 little ones. Good food. Good wine. Quick service. Thumbs up. Will come again.
Thank you Sydney for creating a memorable night! Excellent service from her.
Once again disappointed by the keg, overpriced for what it is.
We can always count on the Keg for a reliably good steak dinner. Especially recommended for birthdays. Accommodated our 1-year-old baby easily and provided a (functional!) high chair.
we had friends from Australia, she is vegan, she had salmon without the bacon.
he had ribs, chicken, we had our usual prime rib, all delicious.
our waiter was super
see you again

I found the service was outstanding. Our server was promp polite patient and very very accommodating. I would recommend and tell all my friends about the enjoyment myself and my Date had. Also the service our server provided was second to none. I would state it was very rare and very pleasant to find that kind of service at this day and age. He was worth every penny of the twenty percent gratuity we left. Thank you thank you!!
Great experience. The service was excellent. The food was great and I love the ambiance. Thank you very much.
One steak came out with NO fries and a very rare steak. Ordered medium rare. They forgot my wife's starter.
Servers response was "hope this does not happen next time".
Great experience and lots of fun. Staff were professional.
You can never have a bad experience at the keg. Our server was so accomodating that he gave us 2 cakes instead of 1 because there were 2 birthdays being celebrated. A little sad they sold out of prime rib.
Me and my girlfriend decided to come to the keg (Burnaby location) for our 6 year anniversary dinner tonight. The food and service was beyond our expectations. We both ordered our steak at medium rare, unfortunately mine came out well done. I notified the waiter. The manager came to apologize for the mistake, fired up a brand new steak and served it to us. Because of our special date, they also gave us a billy miner pie(btw must have) and my steak was taken care of. I was in awe and could not believe the level of professionalism and great attitude I received while dining there. They have made a situation that could've been a lot worse to an amazing experience.👌
We had an excellent time celebrating two family birthdays out on the patio on Sunday afternoon. Paul took good care of us and we had a nice private area and didn't feel rushed at all.
Just perfect. Had a great time there and this is not the first. Each experience is like new again. Always feel welcome and the food is excellent. I'll be back.
Birthday dinner for Grandma. Very good service. The staff were right on top of nut allergy issues. Overall great experience.
It was great. Will return.
Everything about this restaurant is awesome! I just wish I could afford to come here on a regular basis, hehe.
Our recent visit was a failure, as the whole lobster had hardly any meat. It was shrunk and dry.
Not moist and firm as we have had in the past years. Extremely disappointing.
Food was well cooked and nicely presented but not seasoned very well. This goes for the Tuna, the Steak and the Sliders.
Always a good choice for good eats. Service is always excellent.
The server upon realizing one of the guests at our table might be a challenge got the manager over immediately to check in. So when a problem arose where the guest made an error and didn't identify their food needs, the manager immediately got a brand new plate of food and ensured the guest was happy. Excellent customer service skills by the manager, handled something that was the guest's fault as if it was the restaurant's error.
I wanted to book a table for five at five on Father's Day, but could only get a table for four at four -- note to self: book further ahead on holidays.
We were seated in a booth where the curved booth opposite faced ours -- awkward! I felt self-conscious until I saw they were more engrossed in instagramming their food than in us. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, outlining specials and assisting my dad by customising his order. We were given water and pop for the DS. Our first round of sourdough bread arrived crusty and warm, served with whipped butter, plain or garlic herb.
DS had a caesar salad while Grandad had the green salad, not realising there were raw red onions and cucumber therein. He picked them out and gave them to his grandson. Each then tucked in with gusto while my DH and I enjoyed a second helping of bread.
The entrées arrived. I had pistachio encrusted salmon with bacon roasted brussel sprouts on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes -- I usually loathe sprouts, but these were prepared differently: they still had their distinctive taste, but mellowed by bacon and with great crunch due to being roasted. The salmon was sublime, nuts providing texture contrast and taste, and the mashed potatoes smooth and full of garlicky goodness. The menfolk commented that the chef had got each of their steaks perfect (medium, medium-well, well). DH found his peppercorn steak too sharp, but observed he could scrape some of the corns off. They all enjoyed fully loaded baked potatoes and roasted veggies. DS ate his green beans and bell pepper, observing how one's tastes broaden as one matures. Indeed.
DH ordered the Billy Miner pie and I had ordered the mini brownie, but there was an error and I was served the full brownie. No matter. DS and I shared while Granddad enjoyed his coffee and DH his pie. The dessert portions were generous for the price, rich, chocolatey and decadent.
I made a pitstop to the restrooms before paying: clean and well appointed.
Quick correction - we had dinner in the Coqitlam Keg. Had a very pleasant dinner. Our waitress was very helpful. She checked on us the appropriate number of times . It was nice not to have a waitress hovering all the time. She cleared the table without rushing us and as it was early, she left us to take our time over dessert. A great night was had by all.
