   We had a great time at the Keg Downtown last night. Food was very good although three out of the six steaks were overcooked. That said, the management and staff went out of their way to make it right for us, promptly replacing the steaks and offering a very generous adjustment to our tab. We’ll be back.

   We had a lovely dinner at The Keg. The food was good and the service great. Tip - Ask for a window booth facing the harbour. The window allowed us to catch a most fabulous sunset and watch the activity in the street and harbour.

   Service was lovely. I ordered the crab dinner ( promo- seasonal) and it was over boiled in salty water, tasteless and tough- condensed in one end of each crab leg. I pulled out about 1/2 cup of meat in total- my dinner mates almost finishing their dinners before I started to eat. I knew there would be work involved, but the reward was not there! Vegetables on the plate were the star of the show. $50+ for nice vegetables. I did not complain at the restaurant, but perhaps should have. Again our server was great. Will go again, but now very wary of my choice and decision not to complain.

   We went to celebrate my Mom's 86th Birthday. We're visiting family in Victoria and decided on the Keg for her birthday dinner. Everything was delicious. Service was fabulous. The only thing that was bothersome was the noise level. We sat on the 2nd floor basically in the hustle and bustle. I would choose different seating for next time away from the entrance to the second floor but trust me Everything was great except for that. Highly recommend and will go again! Thank you for making my Mom's birthday memorable!!!

    I made reservations 4 days ahead of time. I asked for a window seat. Reservation was for 7PM so my wife and I could watch the sunset over the harbour. We arrived at 7PM on the dot. No window seat. Complained to the manager. He said he would put us at the next available window seat. By the time it was offered the sun was down and so no point and we stayed in our dark corner. Our waiter was brand new, made every mistake possible. Obviously zero training. We split a Ceaser salad to start. Waiter brought it on 1 dish, had to ask for second plate. I had steak and lobster. Steak was fatty and sinuous. Lobster tail was small and tasteless, probably been in storage too long. Seems like the place has been taken over by the bean counters. Going to the Keg used to be a treat, now it's nothing special just pricey. We have been going to the Keg occasionally for 40 years. We won't be going there again. It's like they have lost their way, it used to be about the food and the fun, now it's all about the money.

    Disappointed with the calamari (no flavor at all) and the steak, we asked medium rare only to get well done. I will think twice before coming here

    I love this particular Keg. It has a lot of atmosphere and charm. Connor our waiter was pleasant and courteous. The food as always is top notch.     It is arguably the highest end restaurant in town, and the prices certainly reflect that. Good quality food, service, and ambiance overall. Certainly recommended for a fancy dinner every now and again.

    My husband and I enjoyed our experience except that our server neglected to tell us the feature for the evening. I noticed another customer eating crab legs so I asked him about that since they weren’t on the menu. He told me they were one of the feature dishes that night. The crab legs are one of my favourite things and will always order them so I was very thankful that I noticed someone else was enjoying them!

    We had gift cards for the Keg so we went for my husband's birthday. The service was excellent; the steaks were pretty good (but they should be great - we view the Keg as a steakhouse); my husband's french fries were only OK (these are french fries! serve fresh and hot!); the accompanying vegetables with the steaks were disappointing: green beans looked lovely but were very undercooked and pretty much tasteless. Get these off the menu! Sliced red peppers were tiny and looked like remnant pieces. Asparagus was miniature - like sections of string. Sigh. Accompanying mushrooms were, admittedly delicious. We have a soft spot for the Keg and appreciate that the staff work hard and are hospitable, friendly and welcoming. But the food just has to improve.

    Another great meal at The Keg in Victoria. Pleasent staff. Delicious food. Great view and ambiance. Someone may say it is expensive, but you really get what you pay for. Have been celebrating special occasions at The Keg for years and will continue to dine there for years to come.

    Rather disappointing, we booked a reservation a ways in advance! We have dined at the keg many times over the years! We have been to this particular keg several times and asked for a window seat. We we’re told no and only 2 out of 3 of those window table s were occupied. So probably won’t return to this keg again

    Good food, server was great. We were seated next to a booth with 3 intoxicated male adults. Their loudness and continued use of the F word made all 3 tables, including us, very uncomfortable. We spoke to our server, and the manager. They refused to take to the 3 men. Instead the manager offered to by me a drink, which I declined. The manager then offered us a different table. Since we were half finished our dinner, we declined to move. When I asked the manager if he was going to speak to the 3 men at the table, he said no, that he thought nothing could be gained by speaking to them. We travel a lot across British Columbia and frequent Keg restaurants in every city we visit. While we have never had an experience like this before, and recognize that it happens rarely, we feel this situation was mishandled by the manager. An offer of a drink would never make this situation okay. Neil Campbell

    We really enjoyed our dinner at The Keg last night. Food was delicious, excellent service and it was nice to look out at the inner harbour. My husband had the baseball steak which he always enjoys at the Keg and I had lobster tails - delicious and calorie friendly. We find The Keg a consistently a great experience.

    I had a fantastic Valentine’s Day dinner with my daughter on our annual Valentine’s Day daddy daughter date. We were seated quickly as per our reservation at a beautiful window spot with a view of the inner harbour and our server was very professional, attentive and polite. She was excellent. The food was superb and we left with our stomachs full and extremely satisfied. I would really recommend this location and we will definitely be back in the near future.
