The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Kingston Ratings and Reviews
Alistar was our server and he was fantastic. We really enjoyed our meal and service!
Thanks so much!

I have always loved the KEG, one of my favorite places to go.
I had the Steak Oscar (which I get just about eveytime) but not so good this time.
I think there was a couple little sprigs of asparagus but couldn't see them and way too much sauce. I asked for medium rare steak but the inside was almost white. Maybe they got it mixed up with someone elses. Disappointed!
If steak is your culinary goal, waste no time seeking alternatives, especially in mid size town. Consistency is key to the success of this chain. Rarely have we been disappointed. Service is tops, wait time for delivery of drinks, appetizers and mains well co-ordinated. Wine list is totally fine for the average person and deserts, including minis, lovely. Seafood is a great addition to the menu, although not their forte, quite acceptable and enjoyable. Bonus is the complimentary Billy Minor pie for special occasion guests. The only serious flaw that was ever experienced was an unacceptable delay with drinks for a staff Christmas gathering, due to insufficient glassware! Certainly, never repeated.
In this small tourist area, we are a blessed with a good number of fine restaurants and passionate chefs. However, in terms of a consistent quality steakhouse, the Keg delivers! Bravo.
Always friendly highly recommended.. best steak in Canada hands down.
Excellent prime rib done to perfection.
Friendly efficient service.
Overall we enjoyed our dining experience with the Keg. The staff were excellent! My husband was given a free bottle of wine because they were out of the first two bottles that he selected. The only negative comments would be the garlic mashed potatoes were not up to their usual expectation and my husbands steak was a little tough. We will return!
As the name is Famous, The Keg is the place to go. Everywhere you go Canada, The Keg will meet your expectation and so much more.
Great service! Busy night and everything was well done.
Was a nice night for my 71th birthday service was real nice and made us comfortable even when we were leaveing
The Keg is usually excellent, this time my steak was like rubber - it tasted great but it was a mediocre piece of meat, which is rare for the Keg - I have been going to the Keg for well over 35 years and the last time I could not stomach the poor quality was 1989 at The Keg on Rue St. Paul in Old Montreal...so over all I love the Keg, but they need to up their game a little regarding their meat and perhaps source it locally then getting it from a factory in Toronto.
I was celebrating my birthday and the wait staff made sure I had a free dessert that my wife and I could both enjoy at the end of our dinner. We took advantage of the special that was available that evening and top it off with a bottle of Shiraz. We both had a wonderful evening.
Very nice environment ,staff very accommodating , liked that manager comes around asking how was everything, food cooked the way you asked for it, all in a very timely manner
Great meal and evening. There was a small error in the doneness of my steak, however, the waiter and management team went out of their way to rectify the issue. They went over and above what was expected. Great food.
Food good and portions as described
Very noisy hard to have a personal conversation.
The whole experience met all of our expectations and more
It was our 25 wedding anniversary alistar was our server he was very professional and very polite.we had a nice dessert too. Good to see the manager come over as well to check on everything.
Had a very nice evening!
We live in the country and have to find a reason to travel for a good steak, but every once in a while the opportunity presents itself. We were multi-tasking and decided on 'lupper' to beat the hockey night crowd. If you arrive early, you have a good chance of snagging one of the complimentary parking spots in the back parking lot and don't forget to tell the hostess your licence #. Our hostess was super friendly, but you should let her taste test the nightly specials, so that she can give us a personal heads-up on what's good.
Our server, Alistair, was excellent on the service and the timing so that the meal flowed seamlessly.
The Steak and Frites special was excellent, done just as I like it and my wife had her favourite Steak Oscar which she also raved about.
Your manager, Trevor, came over to see how we were doing and we discovered that his hometown is very near where we live. After a pleasant chat and a cappuccino, a dessert and a coffee, our favourite two hour interlude was over and we were on our way, complimenting ourselves on making a great choice to dine at the Keg. Thanks for the experience.
Immediate family get together. Service and food was excellent.
Great food, great service, however, a half hour wait for our requested reservation but definitely worth the wait!
Food was good and quick to arrive. Server and hostess very friendly. Was shocked at the bill though. The prices have increased!
Fantastic Meals we enjoyed. Complimentary Cake for Birthday Guy was delicious. Waitress very friendly and attentive.
I received a gift card for the Keg. I decided to use it for my birthday dinner. We made reservations for 5pm on a Saturday. We had to wait for about 5 min before being seated. The restaurant was busy, even at that early hour. My husband has the baseball steak and I had prime rib. Both were cooked to order and delicious. I also received a slice of ice cream cake, on the house, in celebration of my birthday. Very nice touch and totally unexpected. The service was top notch. I have another gift certificate so I can't wait for the next visit.
Consistent food but with better than usual service. Expensive though if having a cocktail and wine with dinner.
Everything was fantastic . A small issue with our app was taken care of quickly . Special dessert and champagne was the icing on the cake so to speak .
Out for a friend's birthday and they satisfied all of his gluten worries including a creme brûlée for dessert! It was an enjoyable meal. :)
The food was exceptional and the service, above and beyond what’s expected , will most certainly be coming back for special occasions in the future
My wife and I drive from Wellesley Island, NY to The Keg once a month! Everything is always amazing! The Keg in Kingston, ON is one of our favorite dinner spots!
Best experience we have had dining at The Keg in quite some time. The food (garlic cheese toast, prime rib, filet mignon, garlic mashed with 3-cheese butter, brownie sundae) was all perfect and very delicious. Our server (Joel) was one of the best we have every had; attentive without being overbearing, he was pleasant, honest and funny. Definitely will return.
I really enjoy the Keg. Had great food but the server forgot my birthday.
We had a reservation but still had to wait 20 minutes for our table. The host we spoke to was rude. The manager later gave us free appetizers, which was nice. They brought us birthday cake for my daughter, but we didn't ask for it and still got charged for it. The food was fine, but I didn't feel it was worth what we paid for it. I wouldn't go back here again.
Great meal, hospitality and service. Thanks - hope to be back soon!!
We enjoyed our time at the Keg (Kingston location). We used the Open Table app to reserve a table, and was quite impressed with the app and the restaurant. Our servers were very attentive and friendly. They treated my food allergies seriously, and didn't make me feel like I was being an inconvenience. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an upscale feel.
Made reservation but when we got there they were behind..still ended up waiting over 20 min to get a table, but once we did the service and food were amazing as usual!
Our meal was awesome, along with the service. only downside was the noise the restaurant was very loud and it was hard to hear those at my table.
Always a pleasant dining experience, love the Keg ❤️
Was very disappointed. Had a reservation for my husband's birthday at 7:30pm. The waiter advised us he would be with us shortly at 7:40pm. Finally took our drink and food order by 7:50pm. Our waiter and a manager told us at 8:00pm that the bar was behind on orders, and our drinks would be ready shortly...he lied. Our bread and my husbands salad came. Waited until 8:20pm for our drinks...not sure if they ever came, because we left and went to another restaurant near by. 50 minutes for a drink is not acceptable 😬
Not impressed with our wait time to be seated when we had a reservation. Came in at 5:45 for 6:00 reservation and not seated til 6:15 and that was only after we asked why we hadn't been sat yet when others had been who came in after us. We were told that we were marked off as already having been seated which was obviously not the case. Then we were taken in right away and were not given an explanation as to why there was a delay. Poor organization and communication on the part of the greeters/hosts
We always look forward to going to the Keg and we were in Kingston for a wedding so we had never been to the Keg there and we decided to try it. There was 9 of us going for the dinner and one couple from Florida had never been so we had told them we love it, so will you. Unfortunately my wife, whom I was celebrating our wedding anniversary had a steak that was like rubber and the gentleman who was Florida had prime rib, it was very thin and stringy. Needless to say that our 1st tip to the Kingston Keg was not up to our expectations.
Way too noisy. Manager apologized but made quiet conversation impossible. Everyone shouting to be herd.
Called about noon and spoke to a manager about changing 6pm reservation to 7. "No problem. I will update on OpenTable." When we arrived at 7 listed as a no show. Had to wait for a table.
Easy walk to hotel
and as always food was wonderful
