Overall our experience at this restaurant was unforgettable at worst. The exceptional service, paired with a spectacular entree and perfectly cooked prime rib, constructed an environment that left a smile on our faces and tummies into the morrow.
My only complaint arises in virtue of our reservation was made in the same rooms as a 25+ person party. This affected the volume and drew away from the interpersonal experience that we usually have when dining at the KEG.
Service was very slow. After our hostess seated us, next to a tabe of 4 loud drunk ladies, it took 15 mins for our waitress to see us. We didn't even have water. We ordered right away. Received appetizers right away, very yummy. Sat with two empty drinks and waited an hour for dinner. No drink refill offered. Steaks were absolutely delicious. My husband found 3 eyelashes on his plate halfway through. Manager was very apologetic and comped his meal. I sort of feel like we were forgotten about, in the back corner. Very loud. Food was delicious, even though there was hair in it. service annoyingly slow. Left us feeling kind of grumpy and wasted night.
Even though we had a reservation we waited 15-20 minutes. Then another 15-20 minutes to place our order. We were disappointed with the amount of time this all took.
Staff was great, they took extra care of our toddler too ensure she was happy and fed.
Awesome as usual, our server was awesome and we had a birthday lady beside us for whom we got a shot a tequila for! Nice evening!!! Thanks
We love the Keg for the food, but I honestly have no idea why they have the option of booking a reservation. I made a reservation and we still were not seated until 30 minutes after our reservation time. Ridiculous. That is the reason for my fair rating on service. Our server was fine, but the hosting/seating folks need to get their *stuff* sorted out. We only go for special occasions, so this was pretty disappointing.
kid free date night
celebration of Great accomplishment of wife at work
We love the Keg, however we did notice that the portions were smaller; amount of garlic mashed potatoes and thickness of beef.
It would be really nice if there were candles / tea lites on the tables, the bright chandeliers took away from the cozy atmosphere. ( doesn’t work with the rustic stone walls ).
Great service (Joel), the food was cooked as ordered, and well presented. Overall, great evening!
The Keg does what it does very well... great cocktails; decent wine list; amazing steaks that are a good value. My favourite chain, by far. We were there on a very, very busy night and waited a wee bit for our cocktails (something I've found at other locations, too), but we weren't in a rush and were agreeable re: taking our time, so no big deal. I've never had a bad meal at any Keg and this was no exception, which makes it a favourite with my family.
OUR server was great. We arrived early & had a drink at the bar until our table was ready. All of the staff were friendly & attentive. When my fiancé wasn't crazy about his meal (it wasn't bad just not what he expected) they immediately offered something else. Even the manager came to our table to make sure he didn't want another meal. Love the ambiance here. Wonderful night out.
Great service and great food. Our waiter was exceptional.
The staff and food was incredible, and was accommodating to my requests! The free birthday dessert was a wonderful surprise and scruptous!
The Keg in Kingston is not an overall enjoyable experience. The waiting area is one long bench in a corridor reminiscent of waiting outside the principle's office with the other naughty children whilst people brush past you. Decor needs an update very dark and gloomy. Sad especially as it is in such a lovely historical building. These are small grips though as the food is always cooked the way you ordered and the service is efficient , quick and unfussy. We go for the food as we have 3 teenage carnivores and they never leave hungry!
It was my daughter’s birthday and she picked the place to eat . We’ve never been to the Keg before . What a great time! Food was amazing ! Service was amazing ! We all really enjoyed our time . Thanks you again ! We will definitely be back again .
My husband and I planned a weekend getaway to Kinston and we were very smart to make reservations. Turns out there was a sold out concert that night, so the restaurant was very full. We were seated right away and our server was amazing! The noise level was, let’s say very loud at the beginning, but I realize that is to be expected with a full house. I decided on the winter special item and my husband had the baseball sirloin with Cajun shrimp. Kudos go to the kitchen for preparing an amazing meal. I didn’t even have leftovers for my husband, who usually finishes my meal. Also bonus points that our hotel was literally across the street. We are still talking about the amazing meal we had at your establishment!
The restaurant was extremely busy because if two sold out events in town. It was terribly hot in the restaurant making it quite uncomfortable. We usually have an excellent time but felt forgotten this time. We were told our wait persons name and then waited a while and someone different came. Once our meal arrived they came back about two minutes later and I hadn’t really had a chance to try it yet. Then we had to ask another server for our bill because we had tickets to an event and we needed to leave.
Disappointed but was likely just an off night.
Everything was lovely. Just a little loud. Difficult to hear across the table
Food was mostly great other than a couple of steaks were slightly undercooked. The waiter was amazing and always had perfect timing and a smile. Cost is still expensive, so not a weekly occurance by any means.
Always an enjoyable experience. Excellent food and a knowledgeable staff who are able to make superb recommendations. We never tire of visiting The Keg.
Would have been nice not to wait so long to be seated after having a reservation.
Passing of our mother.
Was seated on the other side of the waitress server debit station and their chatter was noisy. Ruined the atmosphere. Food was okay but server Colleen was wonderful!
Fantastic will definitely go back
Our date night out!
We have been to the Keg several times. This time, I found the found the food pretty everyday. I had roast chicken, Brussels sprouts and keg fries. I mostly order chicken wherever I go. No longer is the grilled chicken on the menu which I have always enjoyed. Keg fries are no longer ‘keg’ fries and haven’t been and they are ok, but nothing special. Brussels sprouts weren’t anything great and they looked burnt and they were buried under the chicken. At first I thought I didn’t have any veggies. I had a Caesar salad to start and there was no Parmesan and hardly any garlic. I chose not to complain about it at the time as it was our valentine celebration and we had another couple with us and I didn’t want to ruin the mood. I’m sorry, but for the price I pay to eat there, it was very disappointing, Billy Miners Pie was good! Justin, our server was amazing! The Keg has always been one of my personal top 3 restaurants to go to 😔. Not the experience I was going for.
Amazing service and food. Worth the drive from Belleville
My date's food was over cooked and included ingredients not listed on the menu. Not gòod for someone with allergies. The cloth on the booth seats is very worn and needs replacement. Service was good and the manager did look after our complaint.
We had a wonderful dinner! Great food and our waiter Romeo was exceptional! We will definitely be returning!
Awesome restaurant, our waiter Romeo was very helpful and overall awesome!
Went for valentines day, service was great and the food was good as always!
If you're looking an incredible dining experience, you've found it. The Keg is always my goto for any special evening. Staff are always energetic and friendly, the atmosphere is fantastic, and the food is delicious!
We really enjoyed our meal and the service was great. The only negative thing would be we were given a time limit of 1 hr and 15minutes due to it being Valentines Day. Felt quite rushed and not able to take our time a little more especially being with friends and wanting to have a little more time to relax and enjoy our meal.
Reservations were made for 4 people table was set for 2 people and very dirty. Arrived early for reservation time but had to wait to be seated with no other people ahead of us. When requested, the table was wiped down but the person cleaning the table had more of her long hair cascading across the table than the cleaning cloth. Very noisy atmosphere. Worst ever experienced at the Keg. Food was adequate. Not sure if I’d go back again.
From start to finish everything was excellent. The service, ambiance and food were all excellent.
Overall an enjoyable meal. Competent service and good food. Tables are packed tight in some locations such that privacy is a challenge.
Prices have gone up making this a special occasion restaurant.
Food was delicious, waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. Service was a little slow. Portions were generous. Menu pricing was quite high. $300 for table of 4 and only two alcoholic drinks. Atmosphere was great. Would definitely go back, just need deep wallets!
My fiance and I went to The Keg in Kingston, for our Valentines Day dinner. The meal was delcious!! Our server was very welcoming and friendly, and attended to our needs. I did find the space quite small and cramped however. It was disruptive to move in and out of my seat to let other customers and servers through.
Besides that, LOVED the experience and the food!!
The service was amazing. Our waiter went up and beyond however, Where we were seated it was very noisy... it was very hot in the restaurant and wasn’t pleased with our seating .. I felt like the more you shove in our area the better.. the staff were fantastic and apologetic as to half the time standing over us in order to serve the seat next to us or behind us .. love the food. But for the atmosphere and the price of the food. Next time may spend my $ elsewhere. Was not happy.
