The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Kingston
waiter Brad absolutely lovely and management checked in, we had a very good meal
The service was good, but not what I`d call attentive. The dining room was a bit cold, but we were there early (5:30) and it did warm up as more people arrived.
I was disappointed with my ``seared`` tuna meal - it was cold (I was warned it was a cold dish, but I think seared tuna is meant to be at least room temperature) and definitely not seared ... it had some kind of cooked outer layer, about 1 mm of grey.
My husband`s meal was OK (steak Oscar) - the steak was a bit tough.
Everything was good just a bit too noisy where we were seated...perhaps something they could look at when seating couples to have a quieter section...
Went before a concert. Food was great, service was excellent. The Keg is getting even more expensive. Overall a delightful evening.
Excellent service. Good food. The music was a little loud but otherwise it was a great evening
Wonder service from Joel, food and table was great.
I will recommend it however is really noise place, I expected quite and private area but basically we heard 2 or 3 tables.
Excellent, quick service. Had our salads within 5 minutes, and the food came out very quick. Was surprised with the birthday cake they brought out.
Once again, an outstanding visit. Everything was awesome. Thank you.
Excellent service and special attention given to food allergies.
We always enjoy The Keg, just wish it wasn't SO expensive BUT it's most certainly worth it. We leave so happy every time and talk about our steak for days after lol
The Keg Kingston is in the lower level of the former Kingston Whig Standard building that offers an ambience of a basement bistro encased in heritage brick walls. The service staff are very friendly and impeccably turned out. The menu provides a wide range of entrees - steak being their forte. They also have a good wine list. Once they've met you they treat you like family. I would highly recommend Keg Kingston if you want 5 Star surroundings, service, and a unique and exciting menu.
The service and food was excellent. Management team very customer focused as well.
I booked a reservation and put we had 2 wheelchairs. When we arrived it is not accessible at all. Good thing we both walk a little. Had to use my husband's arm and walls. Why did you not tell me when I clearly stated it? I think you should put on your web site it is inaccesstible. It was unexpected and delightful to have the surprise dessert with a sparkler on it as we were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary.
The Keg was excellent....great food and staff!! Thankyou
great staff. great food. would definitely come back.
I had asked for a quiet table when I made the reservation online but it was not a quiet table as we were close to the people near us and could hear their conversation. My meal was good, only complaint is that the fish was abit dry. Server was excellent.
Food was really good but our table was crowded into a room with a large group and it was very noisy
The service was great, the food also. The only thing I didn't like was the noise level, but that is not a fault of the restaurant. There seemed to be a couple of tables celebrating and that can get noisy.
Amazing service & steak 🥩 was great
My first experience at The KEG would recommend. TY
We enjoyed a nice family dinner at the Keg Kingston with my Mom and sister. The service was excellent. John, our server was very friendly and helpful. The evening manager stopped by to say hello. Food came out fast and was excellent as always at the Keg. This was my first visit to the Kingston location and I would go back. It was nice and quiet, great for conversation.
All excellent !! Prime rib medium rare as requested. Music & light relaxing. Creme brulee one of the best. Would return.
What’s not to love about the Keg? Best steaks around and the right portions. Katy was adorable and so helpful. Great, healthy sides. A fun and delicious date night out.
Can hardly ever go wrong with The Keg - Kingston. They're doing it right.
Our meals were delicious. The meat was very flavourful and tender. Our service was very good.
In our city, we have a ton of great original restaurants, so the Keg is never my first choice.
This experience was terrific though, food was good and service was outstanding. The restaurant itself is dark, a bit noisy for ease of conversation, and feels disconnected to the downtown atmosphere I prefer. But I’m a downtown patio fan so it’s not really the Keg’s fault :)
The waiter was fantastic. Also we were running late so I called and the hostess was very helpful and kept our reservation. The food was the typical Keg fare. Great steaks.
Cole was a knowledgeable source for information on the Kingston and Queen’s scene. Great table service. Excellent wine list, led us to a Malbec. Steak and lobster was excellent, capped off by tasty soufflé. Will return soon.
They had already run out of prime rib and our reservation was for 7pm. Prime Rib is the reason I go to The Keg!
Our 10 year old son was with us. Typically he's provided with a complimentary crudite of carrots/dip, crackers, and fresh fruit. This is the first time it wasn't offered. I guess it was too busy as our server repeatedly told us.
Btw...my rib steak was to die for!!
Service and food was exceptional. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening out. We will definitely return again and highly recommend The Keg to our friends and family.
The food was great, the service was fantastic but we found that the tables were very close to each other, and the volume was very loud. It made having a private conversation very difficult. I would go again but I would put more research into finding a slow night.
Very good food. Excellent service. Pricey, but worth it.
Great service/customer relations, coupled with excellent food, made the evening.
We really enjoyed our evening at the Keg for our anniversary. Everything was excellent especially the pistachio crusted salmon. My favourite dish. The service was also excellent and we will return to this restaurant again soon. Thank you for living up to our expectations.
We always enjoy the Keg in Kingston.
Great atmosphere and service.
Waiter, (Artel ?) started off friendly etc. Never asked how our apps tasted, came to check on our food after we were almost done, which is very out of the ordinary for a Keg!! Our dirty plates sat on our table for over 10 min....again, never happens at other Kegs, they are usually very attentive. Also, we were celebrating our anniversary and told him when he cleared our plates that we (our daughter included) wanted to order dessert when he was free to take our order. Another 6 min went by, then he came with Billy Miner pie, which I know they tend to bring for free when you are celebrating, except 1)we didn’t want that and planned to order cheesecake and 2) maybe our daughter also wanted dessert....like I told him we were going to order??!! Very poor service for a Keg restaurant. He was friendly but not trained very well. So we left with no dessert, as we had plans and didn’t want to wait another 10 min for a dessert we would have ordered! It wasn’t very busy either so who knows why he was so slow. Then we noticed on the bill it said Billy Miner pie free, when we sent it back and never ate it!! We had been to this Keg many times in the past and had many bad experiences and decided to try it again after 2 yrs, won’t be returning. Other Kegs are MUCH better service for sure.
I had the lobster dinner. It was huge, fresh and delicious! My husband had steak and a half lobster. It too was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly.
The food was good as would be expected from The Keg. We did have to send one steak back as we had requested medium/well on it and it came to the table as medium rare. We also had to ask for our bread, apparently another table got bread. Our waiter went and got us two orders of bread right away.
My dining experience was excellent.. to say the least they the staff really care about how your enjoying the food if for any reason you don’t like it or something is really wrong it’s taken care of ,in this day and age that’s very seldom. I don’t take advantage ever of a free hand out but if it’s not right you should have to beg for a refund . On a final note the food dining experience is something to be proud of especially when treating your family or friends they are quit happy with the Keg .. regards mike Tomlin
Great food and service
