The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Oshawa
My girlfriend and I decided to come by since the new location just opened and we haven't had da good date night in a while. We had a reservation for 715 on Sunday. We arrived at 705 and checked in. While we were waiting we heard that walk-in would take 60-75 mins and we're thankful we reserved a table. We ended up being seated just before 730 after waiting which was a little inconvenient but it was busy so we didn't mind. We were seated in the back left by the fireplace, the space was nice but the odd shaped table beside us was a bit of an eye sore. Kevin and Erin took care of us that night and we're very friendly, helpful, and kind. Kevin took our drink orders and helped us for the first half of the meal. In addition he kept us informed of drink and food times throughout our wait. Erin took our entreé and dessert order and answered any questions we had with good knowledge. At the end of our meal she brought my girlfriend's leftovers out in the lid of a container with tin foil on top. She apologized for it and told us they ran out of containers. We are ways going people so we had a good laugh with her and Kevin about it. We then chatted for a few minutes after paying the bill which has never happened to us at any other restaurant. We are young people and for once in our dining experience we were treated fairly, with respect and dignity, and like any other customers, it was phenomenal. Kevin and Erin were amazing and they deserve to know. Thanks for the awesome experience, we will be back!
Good food as usual and the booths are much roomier and more comfortable since the Reno.
The new building is fantastic modern and the outdoor patio is unique and very modern
I have been going to the Keg for years and found we have never been disappointed
Great job done by all
Had another great meal at The Keg. My steak which was filet mignon was perfect. Always a great meal whenever I go. Never noisy like some other places. No too bright and not too dark. Prices are what you expect for the meals that show up.
Great welcoming when you entered. We made reservation and did not have to wait long when we arrived. Our server was friendly and sincere. We came for a friend's birthday and even without asking she brought him a piece of cake at the end. My only take away from the new place is that the dining room is still very dark and coasters for our drinks would have been great. The condensation from the glasses made the table wet and slippery
Janice was an amazing server. Great night amazing food as always
Sat on the table for 30 mins without service or water. No one would have noticed we were there if we wouldn’t have remind them of our presence. The manager was nice and apologise and comped our appetiser. In my reservation notes I mentioned it was a birthday. And the waitress didn’t bother reading her notes. Left a sour note on our palate. The only good thing was the food.
I found the tables a little too close together so it felt crowded but other than the prices being a little too high it was great!
Absolutely love the Keg! It's our go to restaurant! You know exactly what you are going to get and never been disappointed. Also love the new Oshawa make over.
Very disappointed. I was waiting and excited for our new Keg..I made reservations in order to secure a nice table without a wait..one of my loves about the Keg is the ambience, quiet relaxing experience. Hardly the case. We were seated at the end of a hallway and right in the centre of another hallway that leads to two separate rooms. 3 tables I this section ( hallway). And looking right into the bar which the music was so loud we couldn't talk. We would go to a pub of this is what we wanted. The waiter asked right away if we had concerns..we said yes the music a d our table..the waiter replied, " ok drinks? "..nothing else..we ordered our traditional steak that was so salty, hard to eat. We had to ask for the traditional bread..years a d years so happy with this keg and now will not return..prices are to high to have pub atmosphere and noise
We booked the second day this keg opened. They were smart to have a soft opening .. our experience was flawless. Couldn’t wait to enjoy lobster summer. The food was excellent .. great service from Janice and the new restaurant is gorgeous. I hope they have made it big enough .. it is a guaranteed success. We were regular patrons of the old Keg from day one .. and intend to be regulars at this beautiful new one. Congratulations on a job well done.

Last day of current Keg, too bad...new built one to open July 15/19. Will miss the ambiance and character of the present establishment. No doubt the food and service will remain the same but it's sad to see the old place be demolished.
Awesome as always-sorry to see the “old building and ambiance go
Seated ATM exact time of reservation, no waiting. Service a little slow at first, but very good afterwards. Food was served in timely manner, was hot and very tasty. Not a restaurant to go to on a regular basis as it is very expensive!
We had an awesome dinner for my friends birthday. The food is always tasty and we enjoyed our night.
The server (Alex I think) was excellent and added much to the birthday CELEBRATION.
Incredible service and the food was delightful. The only thing we did not like was the loud heavy rock music. I do understand The Keg has a specific brand they wish to convey but for many seniors and middle age people, this type of music is not enjoyable for a night out. Even pop music would have been better. It was difficult to even have a decent conversation with those at our table. But amazing food and service!
The food has never disappointed. Wish the prices were a little lower so I could go more often, however I do believe the price is justified by the quality of food you receive
Thanks for the good friendly service and great food
Absolutely love our Keg dinners out....I take my son regularly. It would be nice if people with young children were seated in a specific area.....nothing can ruin a $150 meal like a couple of screaming 4 year olds. Just a suggestion.
It was a good experience. A little pricey. Thank goodness for giftcards. Restaurant will be even better after the renos
AAAAWESOME!!! I would love to go back and will go back.
I highly recommend The Keg (Oshawa) to anyone and everyone, especially if they have a food allergy as they were very helpful and offered many other menu choices for my son who has a severe peanut allergy.
Great atmosphere the later it is. Our server was able to fully concentrate on us. Made my birthday dinner perfect!
Great service from our waiter and food was awesome. A little high price but still acceptable
Anniversary dinner for friends. Always a lovely time
We went to celebrate our sons birthday. All food was excellent. My husband and I chose the special and it was delicious. Service was excellent and they brought a beautiful coffee cheese cake with a candle for dessert for my son without us even asking. We had a wonderful experience & delicious food.
Great food and service. It's better to go during the week as there is more availability.
Currently this location is under renovation but once inside it's fine
Always great food and service at this location. Everyone who works here is pleasant and knowledgeable in regards to the menu and specials. The garlic mashed potatoes are to die for and the steaks are cooked to perfection every time.
My wife and I spend our Anniversary's at the Keg. Love the service, the food 🤗
One steak very very peppery. Like a pepper steak but was sirloin. Had to scrape it off
Can’t go wrong with the keg, always good food and service 👍
Food was fine so was our server.
Lighting as usual too dark.
We and both tables beside us had asked the music be turned down.
It was not. That is the second visit to Oshawa Keg with same noise level.
We will not go back.
My husband and I were at the Keg to celebrate my birthday. It was just great. The choices on the menu were fantastic. The service was the best. This restaurant is our favorite in Oshawa. The birthday cake at the end of the meal was a nice touch. We are expecting visitors from England in June and we are sure to take them there. Best restaurant in town.
The service was very good, no complaints all. Having reservations definitely helped a lot. We ordered a steak and lobster tails. The tails were so small you could eat them in one bite and so was the steak especially for the price. The food was also very lukewarm. We happened to be near the kitchen and the plates are all lined up waiting to be picked up. They sit there for a long time and we noticed not one meal has any steam coming off of it.
Our server, jeff provided excellent service, had a great suggestion for our wine, and was very knowledgeable to help us with our dinner choices. Thank you for making our experience a memorable one.
Didn’t enjoy my peppercorn steak. Not as tasty as I thought it would be. Lots of fat. Not much meat to it. Potatoes were delicious
Meal was great, we were seated next to a very large party though which made conversations difficult and was very loud. Our server had a great personality and was very good but seemed to be a little too busy and therefore wasnt as attentive as I would have normally expected from the Keg
Get rid of the paper straws!! I ordered a Peach Bellini, as I have done there for years. Those straws don't allow you to actually suck any of the crushed ice. The waitress gave me 3 different straws to try, and eventually a spoon to "drink" my drink with. The Bellini melted all over the table, and I ended up leaving 3/4 of it behind by the time I left, as it was too much hassle to "eat". Total waste of my money on that drink!
As always, the service was quick and our server was friendly and professional. The food was cooked to perfection and I'm always excited to go here because I know I'm going to have a good experience!
