We went to this restaurant on Valentine's Day, and there was a set menu, which we were aware of. The restaurant was very busy, but the noise level wasn't a problem. Service was good, if maybe not particularly attentive, but as I said, it was very busy. Food was flavourful, interesting. Wine pairings were on point.

It was our first time trying out the lake house restaurant. The experience was underwhelming for fine dinning. I expected more, nothing about the meal nor experience felt like fine dinning and I have been a lot of fine dinning restaurants. The food was subpar, ambience was cold and not romantic at all which was a little off putting as it was Valentine’s Day. The menu was definitely overpriced for the food. The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous, that was the one plus. I doubt we will try it again but you never know.

It was a lovely evening. We were sat looking out the window at the lake. The chairs could be changed for ones that are more comfortable. The wine pairings were delicious although my entree wine arrived, in my opinion, to soon. We would be interested in a brunch service:)

We booked and attended the Valentines Day 4 course meal. The food and service were outstanding. 'Eves' was an exceptional server and provided all the right comments to support the food and wine choices. Even though this was a special event, we look forward to coming back on another occasion.

I have been to the Lake House many times and not once have I been disappointed by the food, excellent level of service or the ambiance. I understand why The Lake House is considered to be one of the finest restaurants in Calgary. The cuisine is always superbly prepared, with a combination of unique menus with more traditional choices. Even though I am a vegetarian, there are always options for me. My family, who are not vegetarians rave about the deliciousness of the meat/seafood options. I always save enough room for dessert as the sticky toffee pudding is absolutely worth the extra calories and a treat to be shared with another person at the table. Yesterday, the sticky toffee pudding was paired with Brie/Honey ice cream, which was superb. The wait staff are friendly and well trained. They know the right balance between making sure everyone at the table has their needs met and not being intrusive. The ambiance of the restaurant is comfortable and pleasant with interesting views of the lake and a warm glow throughout the restaurant. If you have not been to the Lake House yet, please go. Although more of a higher price point than a diner, the value you get from the quality of the meal is well worth the price. I went to a fast food burger establishment recently and paid about 2/3 of what I paid for my lunch meal at The Lake House. There was absolutely no comparison in quality. The Lake House wins every time. I also notice that the staff at the Lake House have continued to work there for a long time. This speaks loudly that the management treats their staff well, with dignity and respect. Staff seem to enjoy working with each other.

A birthday lunch. Great cocktails excellent food. Delicious dessert. As always love the window tables overlooking the lake even if it is snow covered but saw skaters. Service was excellent. One of my favourites for lunch.

Family Birthday celebration. The hostess was professional and very pleasant. We were seated right away and greeted by our waiter. Service was fabulous and food suggestion’s were excellent. The wine pairing was very good; main course and appetizers were excellent. Just a fun fabulous evening would highly recommend this place.

We waited for an hour for the main course, my lamb was about two ounces of meat and the food looked and tasted like it had been under a heating lamp, not good enough for $46! My wife’s bison was reasonable but We had lost our appetites by then. Too bad because we have been eating there for past 28 years when it was Inn on Lake Bonavista, later Newport Grill , now Lakeside. Kind of spoiled our 38 th wedding anniversary!

Fantastic service from Darcy but everyone was amazing. The food was exceptional - the lamb was so tender you didn't need a knife to cut it, and to think its all local ... yah Even though we went on January 4th it was still busy with a great atmosphere and our table close to the fire place was just perfect. This wasn't our first visit and it will not be our last.
