    Very loud atmosphere. Window seat was lovely for the first ten min then they closed the blinds. So that was unfortunate as the view was important on a gorgeous blue sky day. Service was rushed. Hard to relax and enjoy lunch as you imagine when looking at photos on the website. 40 bucks for 6 oysters and a beverage that was mostly ice and watered down. If your looking for a cozy quiet relaxing restaurant this might not be a great fit.

    We have been regulars here for quite a while. Really enjoy the views of the lake and food/menu. Amy our waiter at the last two visits is so proactive and really enjoy her service. Remembering what we ordered 2 weeks ago plus was a real eye opener~! All staff are amazing! All around a special restaurant to eat at for us.

    Every time we eat here it’s always a great experience. The ambience and atmosphere is so nice with the holiday decor up now as well. For our main, we had the daily quiche. I am not usually a huge quiche fan because the pastry can be so hit and miss but it was really good! The seasonal cocktails were tasty, as well as the daily soup and ahi tuna starter. Finished the meal with the Baileys creme brûlée that was perfect. Service was great as always as well.

    I've dined at the Lake House for lunch on several occasions and I have never been disappointed. The food is outstanding. From the daily soups to the entrees to the desserts. Service is also friendly and professional and the servers (female so far) have been outstanding. Love the Lake House especially since I live in the community and quite proud to recommend this restaurant to everyone.

    An absolutely surprising environment and atmosphere. Lake Bonavista views are sublime. The food is very good. Plating and presentation are excellent. Service is really good. The drinks are excellent. The menu is small-ish but a nice mix. Having to “ask” for bread is an awkward requirement but when it comes it’s warm and excellent. The large, natural fireplace is perfect in winter and the patio/balcony is thee perfect choice in summer.

    While visiting our son and his family we wanted a memorable dining experience. The Lake House provided an amazing experience. The staff were gracious and helpful. The ambience was perfect. The food was simply delicious. We had opted to share starters and entrees. The staff timed each order of dishes perfectly. The wine list is the most complete and varied I have seen in a long time.

    The food was horrible. Service was great. Love the location. I was so disappointed in the food. The chicken had no flavour and the Elk was very dry. For the price not worth it at all. The appetizers were awful, we had soup and the lobster cakes. Would love to try the lunch menu to give them a chance.

    We dined at the Lake House a couple times and we’ve always had excellent service, the food is great and the ambiance is beautiful. This time we started with a dozen East Coast oysters, our mains we had the trout & duck. We decided to have dessert this time and the tiramisu did not disappoint.

    We ordered the mussels which were ok, rather disappointing. Dry and not super flavourful. The best part of our dining experience was our waiter. He was incredible! I wish I could remember his name, because he deserves a high 5. Had to settle with a great tip. You can’t go wrong with the ambiance, it’s a beautiful venue.

    Words can not express what an AMAZING experience we had at The Lake House for our anniversary dinner. Our server Darcy made us feel so special and even gave us complimentary bubbly wine ❤️ The food was perfect and the ambiance is fancy but also warm and welcoming. Can’t wait until next year. 🎉 — eating dinner with my love at The Lake House.

    It has been many years since we were at The Lake House last. We went for a milestone birthday celebration and everything was excellent, the Rib steak was fantastic.

    You may be lured by the stunning beauty of it’s interior design, but it’s the fantastic food and wonderful service that will keep you coming again and again. We were a table of 8 celebrating an anniversary. The evening started off by our introduction to our fabulous waiter Durrant. He was the perfect mix of an attentive host and family friend sprinkled with a dash of gracious humor. He knew the best wine to recommend, and made sure to indulge my French husband in his desire to play our table’s Soma. We started off with 2 Rocky Mountain Charcuterie boards and they made quite the entrance! Every one loved the cured meats, the apricots, the home made mustard sauce and the pickles. So glad we grabbed two of those as we could not get enough. Next came the entrées. Together we tried 6 of the 7 main dishes. Each one a delight to the palate. Our Blacked cod, glistened to perfection in the piri butter sauce. The elk rump was to die for, with the only complaint being that we wished there was more. The duck was roasted beautifully and the dumplings and sauce were the perfect compliment. The chicken supreme turned this every day poultry to something that truly arrested the senses. It was juicy and delightfully seasoned. The Angus ribeye was without a doubt, the king of the night. Cooked in a way that gave you a flavourful caramelized char on the outside but tender and wonderfully delicious on the inside. Best of all was the Mac N Cheese that my 8 yr old nephew devoured with relish. Yes they won the heart of this picky eater. The Leek and Manchengo Risotto unfortunately was a bit underwhelming. It seemed to lack flavour. It was good but not of the same calibre as the other entrees. Our evening culminated in a rich parade of desserts. Tiramisu, Creme Brûlée, Toffee pudding, The Lemon drop, and the home made ice cream made the evening end in the sweetest of notes. We agreed that had this been our last meal we would have died quite happy. Thank you LH for such a wonderful night!

    The Lake House is my favourite dining room in Calgary. The ambiance is stunning with the twilight glowing on the lake. The fire was roaring and I just love the decor. The service is always excellent and the food exceeded expectations. I highly recommend! You won’t be disappointed.
