The Pendergast Club is our private cigar club on the third floor of the building. With leather couches and exposed brick walls, The Pendergast Club exudes the old time elegance and sophistication of a bygone era. The club is comprised of three areas: the Board Room on the west end of the building which can seat up to 16 for dinner, the main bar lounge area which can accommodate up to 35, and the Game Room on the east end of the building which can seat up to 30 for dinner. The entire floor can also be booked for groups of up to 60 guests. Groups of up to 80 for dinner or 115 for drinks and appetizers can be accommodated in either the Main Dining Room or the Jazz Club, please call for room charges and minimums.

Our Dry-Aged Beef

We serve USDA choice and prime natural beef, sourced from singular breeds, supplied by arrowhead specialty meats, l&c meats and golden rule meats. That begin with careful consideration of genetics, handling practices, feeding and harvesting. The result is consistently exceptional beef. Dry aging is the process of storing cuts (or sides) of beef for several weeks in specially designed coolers which maintain a delicate balance of temperature, humidity and air circulation. The aging process enhances flavors by causing the beef to lose 20% of its weight in water and tenderizes through the action of the beef's natural enzymes

Mother’s Day meal for the MiL and my wife. Unsure what has changed with the menu, but the sides were not as large, but maybe cheaper, the steak (14 oz 38 day aged Ribeye) was delicious. The Filet was thick and delicious, but under done (ordered medium rare) . The mushrooms were phenomenal. The jazz and ambiance were spot on. Service was top notch as always.

The food was excellent as always. Our server was also the bartender so she disappeared for awhile. The issues were the temperature and jazz band. It was freezing downstairs. My wife was miserable. The jazz band was horribly loud. Especially the drummer. The piano and bass were fine, but for some reason, the drummer acted like he was in a rock ‘n’ roll band. We couldn’t hear ourselves talk. The one waitress was literally yelling the menu specials at another couple. warm it up and have your band play at a reasonable level so people can enjoy their meal. We literally ate and left.

The food was delicious. My steak was done perfectly!! The waitress was honest and upfront about menu selections. My only request was to have a bartender who can make mock tails for those folks who can’t have or do not want alcohol. Thank you again!

We went to have dinner with friends in the jazz club. We had a great experience at the main bar and cigar club, but our waiter in the jazz lounge was smug and condescending. He spent as little amount of time as possible at our table, drug his tie through our food while serving it, spilled cocktails on my friends, and made smug remarks while at the table. It’s a shame that one person can be so far off the standard of the rest of the staff.

This was our first time at the Majestic and we were truly surprised when walking into the jazz club in the basement with a speakeasy vibe. The music was phenomenal, the food delectable, and service superior. We loved the crab cake, bone in filet, and lobster mac and cheese! We will definitely be back to this hidden gem!

The Majestic is a historic spot worth checking out if you are out of towner like myself. Would I go back, no. As a steakhouse on its own, its just meh. Is it the best steakhouse you will go to? Certainly not but its more about the atmoshpere and the live jazz music. The place relies on its reputation to make up for its shortcomings. We sat a table that leaked water from the ceiling and got wet. The restaurants response was regrettable, not offering even a drink or desssert. Basically blaming the age of the restaurant and that they were busy. At a restaurant that relies on its food, the outcome would hve been different. The waitress did a very good job.

We sat downstairs in the basement where there was a live jazz band, which was incredible. If you’re looking for a quiet, intimate evening don’t sit down there, but if you just want an enjoyable evening hanging out with friends then this is your place. The food was really good, but not something that knocks your socks off. It was comparably priced with other higher end steakhouses as well. Our server was also super nice and was able to answer our questions about the menu as well as make suggestions. She gave us plenty of time to enjoy the evening but was never inattentive. Overall, it was a great experience and one I would recommend if you are in KC.

Food and service were very good. However, more attention needs to be paid to the cleanliness of the dishes. My daughter’s coffee cup was very dirty. The waitress brought a replacement, and it was dirty as well. At that point, my daughter just cleaned it with her napkin but that was disappointing.
