The Marc Ratings and Reviews
Fantastic anniversary outing. Service was great. Food was great. Will definitely be back.
I tried the foie gras and was blown away. My entree was the lamb which was good, but was light on seasoning and flavour. Overall, the Marc is a nice spot in downtown Edmonton .
Excellent food and attentive staff make the MARC a great and reliable place to enjoy. Simply decorated but offerings well worth a regular visit with a nice wine menu and amiable bartended to go along with the fine food.
Everything was excellent as always. Our favorite restaurant.
A Wonderful Bistro Experience! Superb menu, service and ambience at a reasonable price in downtown Edmonton.
Fish of the day was a party of flavours , beautifully presented and promptly delivered. Never a disappointment at the Marc.
We had a wonderful meal and our server was fantastic. The food was amazing; was a bit worried that there weren't enough menu choices, but we all chose something we loved. Great selection of wine and beer too!
We were in town for a special event the next day and looking for upscale/low key, The Marc delivered. Fabulous food, solid service and excellent menu made for a great night out. Oh and the cocktails were worth the outing!
You can order anything at the Marc and be sure it will be some of the best food you've ever eaten. Whether you order off the menu, or from their multiple specials, it's always consistently amazing. On my recent visit, between three of us, we ordered: Appetizers: arugula salad, Caesar salad; Main course: duck breast, entrecote frites (steak), and a fish special. Everything was melt in your mouth amazing, tender, juicy. Even the frites (fries) were the best fries ever!! We also had dessert, including the chocolate mousse which was not super sweet like you might expect, but such a wonderful texture and pure chocolate flavour.
The service is always so great and friendly as well. It's not a cheap place to dine, but great for special occasions. I've been to many of the great fine dining restaurants in the city, and can definitely say the Marc is my favourite restaurant in Edmonton.
The Marc is our favourite place for a special night with friends and family. The food is always excellent, we have never been disappointed. The wine list is terrific - ask Patrick for a recommendation. Service is top notch - professional, well timed, helpful, courteous. Doris and Patrick are wonderful hosts who make everyone feel welcome. Great value and great place for an evening dining experience.
For me, there is a certain amount of guilt when you haven't been back to a restaurant in a while. I should not have been apprehensive. Patrick and Doris welcomed our group with warmth and grace. Our server Louanne was deft and efficient, and also equally knowledgeable about the food and wine list. Nothing disappointed. The room hummed with diners who were excited to be there, enjoying the fine meals prepared by the skilled staff in the kitchen. Great evening - will be back - and recommend The Marc without hesitation.
The service was very good. The staff was kind and very welcoming and the food was delicious. I recommend the rib eye sooooooo gooooood!
The food was delicious. It was lovely to have a relaxed meal and not feel rushed. Excellent service. We will definitely be return customers.
Great, friendly and attentive service, excellent food and wine list. Patric and Doris are always there to greet their customers, make us feel welcome.
Beautiful place, great service, choices for vegetarian are limited.
Excellent food. It took a bit longer than expected but well worth it. Business crowd at lunch, but still quaint enough for being cozy. Staff are very nice and pleasant.
We had a wonderful impromptu dinner, with dear friends, plenty of bubbles, excellent food, & and best of all; an incredible host! Thank you for the fun night!
We love the Marc. we have been several times. We recommend to everyone. I love THIS restaurant. we will keep coming back. CHEERS
Lovely French restaurant just slightly off the "beaten paths" in Edmonton.
We've been there this week for a working dinner, very pleasantly surprised about the excellent personable service, the atmosphere and the limited but exquisite selection of freshly prepared food - loved the international flavors with a clear and authentic French touch.
Will go again and definitely recommend to colleagues and friends.
Very friendly and patient staff. The food was very tasty!
Absolutely loved to food, steak was incredibly done and the service was amazing. Joshua was our server, and very knowledgeable. The atmosphere, however, was less than desirable. It was so loud, I could not have a simple conversation with my partner across from me. Also for a higher end restaurant was disappointed with the more than casual dress.
Absolutely one of the most elegant places to dine.
This restaurant has been on our wish list for a long time and finally made it on a fine Saturday early evening. We booked a table for 2 and on arrival, were seated right at the entry way. We were a bit disappointed since this was comparable to being seated close to the kichen door. We had a brief chat with owner Patrick Saurette and waited for a few minutes for our waiter, Josh, to come over. Josh speaks very quietly so it was a bit difficult to understand him at times.
The menu doesn't have a large selection which is a plus. We began with the creamy potato soup and tomato salad. Both were delicious although the tomatos were scarce in the tomato salad. We also felt the croutons were on the large side so a bit difficulet to chew. We chose the lamb chops and ribeye steak as our mains. The lamb was served with carrots, pearl onions, peas, pea shoots and yam puree which was delicious, the lamb itself we thought was a bit bland. The steak came out with foie gras butter, so very tasty, and served with fries truffle aioli. We agreed the ribeye was the best choice of both dishes. Dessert was Beignets with a caramel and a cream sauce. These were so good and worth every calorie.
The restaurant is very open and all tables are close together which we're not fans of however we had a great time in spite of where we sat or maybe because of it. Our only complaint was the very quiet tone that the waiter used. We honestly couldn't hear the first things he said.
The evening for two was $200 including a bottle of wine. And worth it for sure!
Excellent meal and friendly attentive staff. Would recommend.
I like the Marc. very good restaurant. Servers are very helpful and provide a very good dining experience. booking is easy with a followup reminder of the reservation.
Always delicious, always great service: The Marc is great for business lunches or special occasions.
Room smokey (from kitchen) and loud (from concrete floor and lots of glass). Food was good, as was service.
Always a great meal with fantastic servers no matter the occasion. The daily fish special never fails to impress.
Second time eating here and wasn't disappointed. Pork belly was amazing
Love this restaurant. Everything on the menu is so tasty.
We had a nice night at the Marc. We had never been before. I would say we got what we expected. Loved the non stop bread, and the quality of the food. I would say give it a try and make up your own mind.
Once again, the Marc didn't disappoint. Brought the family and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all of us.
It was our anniversary, and they made it special! The food is rich and divine. The service is exceptional, and the prices are very reasonable.
Will be back!
I have eaten at the Marc many times and have never been disappointed. Everything from the wine to the food is excellent. The servers truly enjoy their job - I don't think they know it is there job but rather a fun evening out!
The service is always warm and friendly and the food was top notch. We brought our 10 yr old son and he loved it.
The grilled octopus was excellent
As alwyas the Marc s the BEST - I go there as often as possible.
One of Edmonton's best patios! Consistently delicious food, great service and a lovely outdoor ambience.
Always a pleasure and a great patio on a hot evening!
The service and vibe here was great. I had the duck confit and would highly recommend; my partner had the arctic char and thought it was good but nothing special. It's a nice space, but we were seated right next to some gentlemen having a business dinner which my partner found a little distracting. The portions are quite generous and the price is reasonable for the quality and amount you get.
