Went for hamburger Wednesday. The food and service were excellent as always!
It was with confidence and pleasure that I invited a close friend and guest to the city to have lunch at The Marc. As I knew you would, you lived up to every expectation. Thank you.
As always, the Marc delivers with excellent flavours and consistent service. Highly recommend their soup of the day, always worth trying.
The food was excellent, the server fabulous. Visually and aurally quiet (our table being the exception). The restaurant doesn't feel "cutting edge" but rather classic and very well done.
Only negative thing is the tables are too small... limit space for all the plates/glasses/cutlery/menus when more than 2 people are sitting at the table...
Exceptional food. Has the lb and the guinea fowl. Steak tartare to start and always perfect.
Only complaint is how close the tables are, when seated you can clearly hear your neighbors conversations
They never seem to miss a beat or step wrong at The Marc. Warm welcome - check. Efficient and charming server - check. Delicious food, well presented - check. In and out in under an hour - check. Will happily return to The Marc - such a great spot!
Been going to the Marc for years. Have yet to have a bad meal. This time we tried the foie gras and crab phyllo appetizer. The foie gras was amazing, it melted in your mouth. The crab phyllo was like a spring roll filled with crab meat. For our mains we had the steak of course - excellent and done as requested. I had the chieken breast special - a little disappointing, the chicken was quite salty and the greens kind of wilted under the chicken. For dessert we shared the beignets.
Definitely one of our favourite restaurants in the city. French/European inspired cuisine, consistently high quality, good service, good selection of wine/cocktails. Whether you’re looking for a nice place to take a date or quick business lunch, you can’t go wrong with The Marc. Great food, great ambiance (bright, modern, good energy), great service. Highly recommend.
We went to the Marc for an anniversary dinner. The food was exceptional and the wait staff were friendly and relatively efficient. However, the Marc bills itself as a fine dining, special occasion restaurant and the service failed on several counts to raise itself to that level. For example, despite there being five free tables in a row in a half empty restaurant, we and two other couples on dates were seated together in three consecutive tables instead of spaced with empty tables intervening. We know that the other couples were on dates because we could hear every aspect of their conversation, despite each couple trying to speak softly and give one another privacy. I was seated closer to the person next to me than I was to my wife across the table. This made the experience awkward and really detracted from our night. We would go back to the Marc but would be more assertive about our seating to allow for some intimacy in our dining experience.
