The Merchant Kitchen is an idea conceptualized by travel and adventure. Honouring the traditional ingredients, flavours, and techniques of Asia and Latin America, while incorporating the freshest local ingredients possible is our mantra.

    Food was really good. Ordered ceviche, carnitas, noodles and fried chicken. Only thing we really didn't like was the ceviche, it wasn't bad, I think it's an acquired taste. Everything else was excellent.

    Great food, wonderful service. We had the roasted sweet potato, dan dan noodles and 5pc korean fried chicken. Everything was phenomenal and we will definitely be back again!

    Food was ok but small portions, especially for dishes you are meant to share family style. Server was nice but really inattentive, we had nearly completely finished our entire meal by the time she made it back to ask how it was. Atmosphere was nice but quite loud and hard to hear the others in our party. Overall decent but a fairly underwhelming experience and we probably won't be back. I wouldn't necessarily avoid this place but I also wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

    The calamari was good but I expected more. Portion size was small. The thai fried rice was very good. Had the Korean chicken which was also very good. Drinks were good but a little pricey.

    The bistro, atmosphere, noodles, & flag ship Thai Fried rice worth a try. The server that served our tables were very attentive and active! Another top spot in downtown Winnipeg for Asian Fusion.

    Food was good… took a little while to get drinks at the beginning even though were lots of staff mulling around. Once drinks were ordered staff were much more attentive. (It almost seemed like a server hadn’t been assigned to us)

    Having moved from Vancouver we were looking for some good Asian fusion. I think we’re very close. We had the corn and chips and Nagoya wings as applies. The wings were very good. Nicely done. The corn and chip was also good. We make street corn dip at home right off the cobs, I know with your volume this is probably difficult. Overall it was tasty. Our mains were Dan Dan Noodles and Korean fried chicken. Both very good. A warning on the menu about spice levels may be a good idea. The noodles were delicious but had a lingering spice. Lots of people would probably like to know how spicy things are. We all know Asian spice especially Korean is different from western spice. Our Korean fried chicken was good. In typical Korean style it was fried twice for the crispiness. It would’ve been nice to have the choices of the sauces when we ordered. Then the second fry could’ve absorbed the flavour. Dinner was delicious. The service very good and the Van Van cocktail outstanding. We will be back.

    Awesome service and amazing food! We enjoyed the local beer on tap like Lake of the Woods and 1919. The cauliflower bites, Korean Chicken Wings and Yuca fries were all delicious! Our son enjoyed the chicken tacos and grilled corn. Staff are friendly and provided us with a fantastic dining experience! Highly recommend!

    Pleasant staff but seating was uncomfortable and the table we sat at was too deep to easily talk to the folks opposite. Very noisy and lots of TV screens really alter the atmosphere. Expensive considering it is essentially a sports bar.

    Very interesting menu. Loved the yellowfin tuna appetizer. Thai rice bowl was quite good. Chicken tacos were okay but portion size was underwhelming. Should have ordered another appetizer dish alongside as they came unaccompanied. Want to go back sometime to try the tequila tasting flight! Noisy but fun.

    We had a lively time! Enjoyed all the dishes, especially the creamed corn and the cauliflower. The desserts were outstanding. Not too sweet, but perfectly decadent!

    Amazing food. The flavours were unusual and a welcome change from typical restaurant fare. The waiter was informative and made some great suggestions. We did not feel rushed and we’re able to fully enjoy our night out.
