The Mill on the River

We found that since COVID started the service and food was even better than it was before the pandemic. I would strongly recommend going!
We found our waitress Allysa to be very pushy. Though the restaurant wasn't crowed, she kept coming back to our table to get our order, even though we had told her that we wanted to chat a bit before ordering. We ordered drinks. When that wasn't enough, we finally placed an orders for apps. Not soon after our apps, she was back at our table to place dinner order. We just felt rushed. Other than that, my girlfriend and I had a nice time.
The food and ambience was great. The background music was a bit loud.
Ambiance was perfect for a cold winter evening. Waitress and staff were very attentive and food (special of the day) was excellent. Mill on the River has always be a favorite place for quality dining.
Diverse menu with lots of options to choose from. Flavors were refreshing and blended nicely. All food cooked perfectly. Beautiful setting with friendly knowledgeable staff. If there were more stars I'd add them.
Went there for brunch with a party of 6. Unfortunately they sat us next to the kitchen so traffic and noise was bothersome. Our waitress didn’t seem particularly interested in her job, and was not friendly (didn’t even pretend to be). Food was OK, but certainly not worth the $25 per head for an à la cart brunch menu. Drinks that came with the menu were teeny tiny and the bloody Mary mix was clearly watered down. Not impressive, and wouldn’t recommend this restaurant…..not for brunch anyway.
It was delicious same as it’s been for the past few years we’ve gone.
We have eaten at the Mill On the River for many years and have always found them outstanding. Not last night. While our waitress was lovely and our drink order was excellent..... the food was disappointing. They were entrees we have ordered often and love them. Last night we think the food had been left too long prior to service.. My wife's Lobster Pasta was under salted and very thick. My Redfish was over salted and not very hot. We were disappointed ... but we will return as we have not had a problem in the past.
Overall a very pleasant experience. The restaurant was not crowded and we were seated easily at a nice location near a fireplace. The food was very good and the only minor quibble I might have is that we had to ask our waitress to bring the pastry basket to the table that was included with our brunch menu. Other otherwise it may have been forgotten about or not offered.
We had an absolute wonderful meal and experience.
We are looking forward to our next visit on the Saturday before Valentine’s Day 😊
We were visiting a long time favorite place of ours in celebrating our anniversary. As much as we enjoyed our food and great server (Ed), our only regret was not to mention how cold we were in pandemic style patio seating area. It was lovely decor especially during these difficult times, but temps outside last evening made it uncomfortable to fully enjoy our special occasion.😔
Whether your food preferences are fish meat or German the mill will always exceed your expectations. My wife had their prime rib while I had jaeagar snitzle. Both were outstanding as was our deserts.
Been going to the Mill on the River for over 13 years for our anniversary. Great food, service and atmosphere. Their jumbo chocolate covered strawberries are amazing. Provided as a complimentary anniversary desert with a Champaign toast.
Very good restaurant Nice atmosphere must be beautiful in the summer I will make sure to come back
What a wonderful and delicious dinner. Our service was outstanding!!!!! Caesar salad best ever, clams casino amazing and everyone’s dinner was perfection.
Thank you thank you
Overall dining experience was great. Food was very tasty and served hot.
Great evening, we love this place
Our wedding anniversary is on ChristmasDay and our server Amanda was great as well all who made our night very enjoyable and Amanda also brought us a glass of champagne for us and chocolate covered strawberries she was great thank you Amanda
First time to experience the holiday brunch and really enjoyed it. The menu had plenty of excellent offerings and we enjoyed the bread basket and cocktails. We did not feel rushed and I will definitely plan another holiday brunch for friends in the future!
Everything was great! Our waitress was super nice, fast and efficient and the environment was lovely. Definitely would recommend
Had a wonderful time. The food was delicious. Love dining at this fine restaurant. Would highly recommend.
Delicious as always!!! Great service as always!!! Always love Mill on the River 😊
Will not return.
5 star reviews have to be by owner or people that have no idea what service and food in a half way decent restaurant is.
Beautiful location, it’s a shame.
Requested a cozy table and got the complete opposite. We were seated right by the service station with non-stop traffic.
I had a really good experience. Food was great and staff was extremely attentive.
Always great. Can’t say anything bad.
Hadn't been here in a while, but it is still a 1st class place to go. It is a bit spendy, so as long as you take that into account, it's worth every dollar. Food is great with generous portions. Wine list is above average and the service was top notch. Certainly recommend MOTR for a pleasant experience!
60 th birthday
This is a favorite restaurant. Noise was higher than expected due to large group next to us In a small area. Food was excellent, as always.
Never disappointed in Mill on the River! Always great service and delicious food! Look forward to returning!
Great food, great service and a nice view of the river. They had a great beer selection as well.
Had to wait 25 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. Other than that everything was excellent. The food and the service was great
Although we had a reservation- and we called to confirm. Upon arrival we were told we would be the next available table of 2. After seeing two other 2 person tables seated….(who arrived after us) we were finally ushered to our table after waiting 45 minutes! No apology. What is the point of making reservatuons???? Once seated the wait staff was fine. The wait just put a damper on the entire experience.
Fun and delicious!
Always an amazing experience great food great place.
