We went to dinner prior to a concert and had a great time- aside from our waiter taking a little longer than normal to bring waters/sauces to the table, it was a great meal. The California panini was incredible and the ranch is immaculate LOL. Will be back 🥰

Service was excellent along with the Bacon Old Fashion. Everyone in our group enjoyed the food. The News Room staff had our table all setup and ready for us when we arrived with water and menus.

The entire meal was wonderful. The drinks were good, and they made a nonalcoholic raspberry mojito for us too. We even decided to get dessert. The blueberry cheesecake was amazing

Food was fantastic. It was busy and the experience as a whole was great. Our server took our order and brought our bill but never really checked on us while we were eating. This was fine for us as we didn’t need anything but if you like lots of hands on service you may not get enough attention. We loved it though and would definitely go back.

We truly enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was wonderful! Our servers checked in on us regularly but not annoyingly so. The food was really good and all of us enjoyed our meal! We also liked the variety of cocktails! Thank you! It was a great start to a fun evening downtown Minneapolis!

Sadly did not have the best time. Our waiter seemed to not want to be there and just had an attitude. Had to stop a (what I assume) manager to ask about the soup of the day. My parties food was okay but mine was super sweet. A Ruben should not taste of straight sugar. It was very dark inside and not busy at the time we got there but picked up. Food took a while to come and everything came at once, even the appetizer.

Our server, Colin, was friendly and knowledgeable. His recommendations were spot on, and the food was excellent. My first words upon tasting the first bite were: "this is ****ing incredible!" A short walk to Orchestra Hall after dinner makes this our go-to place for dining prior to a Minnesota Orchestra concert.

We were celebrating our anniversary and New Year’s Eve at The Newsroom. I chose The Newsroom because they have the best martini in town. Imagine my disappointment when my server informed me that the bartender made my drink without blue cheese stuffed olives because they ran out! At 7 pm. On New Year’s Eve! Plus the bartender made the martini incorrectly: I did NOT ask for a dirty martini. Not having blue cheese stuffed olives may seem like a trivial thing, but it was THE reason we chose the Newsroom. Not to mention that this martini is the FIRST drink mentioned on your drink list. I’ve been dining at the Newsroom for over 15 years and last night’s experience was a major disappointment.

We had reservations at 6 pm. We arrived early, at 5:45pm. We were not told by our server that the kitchen closed at 6:30pm. This was disappointing bc we would have ordered dessert. The food was good. The beverage selection was superb. It was the timing that was frustrating.

Disappointing overall. My husband found plastic in his meal, and the manager offered excuses and a halfhearted apology. We also asked about ordering dessert 45 minutes after we arrived and were told the kitchen was closing at 6:30?! The one bright spot was the nice waitress.

Gereserveerd ivm kerstavond. Bediening matig; fouten bij opname apetizers, wijnfles openen, serveren van drankjes, vergeten van drankjes, onjuiste tafelopnames teveel sorry's maar te weinig herstel en Gastvrijheid. Allergrootste ergernis was na een onderbouwde klacht, we meteen de rekening kregen terwijl wij die niet gevraagd hadden en die klopte ook niet!! Maaltijden waren ok, alleen temperatuur garnering ( frites en asperges) was koud. Het kan kerstavond zijn, het kan het eerder sluiten van de keuken zijn.. Gebrekkige communicatie is iets wat zeker was!!! We hadden veel meer kunnen eten en uitgeven maar ieder plezier werd ons ontnomen door de matige service en kwaliteit!! Na tweede klacht (bij manager) werd de rekening gecompenseerd/ gereduceerd. Iets waar niet om gevraagd is en later echt als afkoping van probleem werd ervaren. Zeer matige Gastvrijheid , service en respect naar de gasten die nog moesten vertrekken terwijl het personeel al gezamenlijk drinkt ter afsluiting van de avond. 'Poor show'

We often have dinner or lunch at The Newsroom prior to a show downtown. On Sunday afternoon it took 45 minutes to get our food. Fortunately we had allowed plenty of time prior to the show. Our server did check in and apologized profusely. We assumed the kitchen was short staffed. We will return as the food never disappoints.

Had a great time at the news room! The Brie cheese curds and shrimp tempura appetizers were AMAZING!! Drinks were delicious as well! Loved the ambience of the place, the ship bar was super cool and it wasn’t noisy in the restaurant at all. Would definitely go back :)
