Located within Denver’s historic Tramway Building, originally opened in 1911, The Nickel pays homage to the space that was once used to collect fare from customers riding its resident streetcars: a nickel. Just as the building in which The Nickel is housed has a storied past, the dishes found on the menu at The Nickel all have a story. We proudly serve menus that incorporate the highest quality ingredients from farmers, ranchers, distillers and craft producers, and is comprised of dishes that are easily recognizable and feel simple, but eat complex.

Restaurant smelled like sewage. Undercooked pork chop and chicken. Expensive and poor value. Tired decor.

There was a stench of sewage when we walked in and it persisted through out the meal, off and on. Food was great, like eating great food next to a cess pool. If they had a sewer problem they should have closed. I might try them again, but will walk away if I notice sewer smells again. Very disappointed. .

Seems to have gotten materially pricier with very small portions.

The nickel is comfy and dependable. A little pricey but it’s near the performing arts center. Food is good. Love the salads. Nice place to enjoy a quiet meal in a nice space.

Restaurant is inordinately loud, the menu is extremely limited and expensive, and the wait time was far too long for a small two person order.

My chicken was undercooked. So was my wife’s pork. We won’t be back.

I love the atmosphere, and fancy hotels are always interesting. The menus is pretty limited, even more so if you’re avoiding fried foods. I used to come here often before DCPA shows and it felt more upscale in the past. Food was fine, a little sparse, but nothing to desire in rushing back. Service was friendly and manager stopped by to check on everything- nice touch.
