We made a reservation couple weeks in advance.we are here in the summer thought we would go back. This time it was awful the waiter was very rude brought our appitiers out after our meal.Did nothing to fix it . unfortunately we will not be back to this restaurant.waiter had a very poor additude.
Our waitress was so attentive and polite and charming. I didn't get her name, but she was truly lovely.
Prices are very high compared to other establishments, but good for a treat!
Irish nachos are amazing
Great meal and delicious beer. We’d definitely go back again. Only disappointment was that the music either didn’t happen or was too quiet to be heard!
First time dining here. Portions were bloody massive! Atmosphere is great with the live music. Staff were friendly, venue was clean, food was delicious.
They didn’t have my reservation, the host said “yeah, we don’t actually get the reservations from that system”. So we were placed on the third floor, completely and totally away from the music in a brightly lite part of the pub where they put large loud groups. We ordered one drink and left. It was terrible. Ruined our night, we couldn’t get a table anywhere else either so we ended up going home. Very disappointing.
I placed a reservation on a Saturday night because I know it can be busy and a lot of restaurants are facing a labour shortage. When I arrived I was told that they didn't have my reservation even though I received email confirmation for it. I was simply told they didn't have a table for my guests and myself and no accommodations were made to make up for it other than offering seats outside as it was literally just starting to rain (not exaggerating). I called the next day and left my name and number as they ask you to do in their voicemail, and I never received a call back. I called more than once.
I don't think I'll be dining here as they don't answer their phone to confirm reservations, yet their reservation system is broken. I previously worked in the restaurant industry so I've seen it all and I remained calm and considerate in all of my interactions with this restaurant, and it seemed that my courtesy was not at all reciprocated.
Great way to book a table using this service, decent service, but always difficult to hear through masks, good selection of beers, love Kilkenny, one in my party had Murphys stout n loved it, Lamb burger was awesome had it with sweet potato fries with a Mayo curry dip which were homemade n crispy, so good. Fish n chips awesome, tasty nice batter, good haddock. Ham chicken leek pastie absolutely fantastic, a well made dish. Awesome dinner out Thanks to all at The Old Triangle, Halifax
We arrived on time and were greeted and the COVID routine of checking ID and Vaccination status was performed in a proficient manner. Live Irish music had already started and was wonderful as to find live music today is a bit of a challenge. Wide variety of local beers on tap and bottles are available including ciders. Food assortment was plenty and we selected fried Haddock, Fish and Chips and Seafood pasta all of which were plentiful, nicely presented, and flavorful. The seafood chowder was one of the best we encountered while on our maritime visit. All in all good food, good music, good atmosphere makes the Old Triangle a winner and a come back to place!
WE had a last minute change in our reservations and with a phone call the staff went out of their way to accommodate us
The food was good; fresh and decent portions. Lamb burger was properly cooked, as were the potato wedges with it; pan fried haddock was also properly cooked to tender and the salad with blueberry vinegrette was tasty (though the pieces of cucumber and apple were sliced waaay too large to eat without first cutting them!|). Very best part of dinner?? The warm gingerbread cake with whiskey drizzle... stuff dreams are made of --- do not miss having this dessert.
Ambiance was warm, friendly and inclusive. Server was very attentive and she paid attention; entertainer was awesome, upbeat and on point with songs to keep the room right in his pocket. Fantastic night!!
Not too noisy - seated 2nd level. Excellent service - not pushy. Good food.
Nice place, good service and good food, 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Good food and service despite COVID. Would recommend
Just what we were looking for on a Friday evening. Band was good food was good beer Wes even better lol
Service was ok and the food was better than I expected. I had the seafood chowder, which was pretty good, but was lukewarm, hubby had the steak and said it was decent. In the end it was an enjoyable evening with friends.
It would be nice if there could be speakers or a screen upstairs with who’s playing downstairs.
The food was excellent and the service was very good. Everyone followed covid protocol
Always good, some choices great, some not so much. Service friendly and prompt.
In spite of receiving 3 confirmations, my reservation was not made at the establishment. This was very disappointing
We enjoyed the steak and kidney triangle. My wife enjoyed the house wine and I really enjoyed the Kilkenney beer. Look forward to returning soon.
Such a comfortable retreat as always! Great service and delicious menu choices available even in these socially restricted times. If I lived on the peninsula , I would make this pub a weekly event for supper and music.
Food was great and the music was as well overall a great experience
Very good as always even with COVID protocol. Nice evening with great food and service. Door man could have been a bit nicer but the rest of service was spot on.
It was perfect, like it always is. One of my favourite places in the city.
awesome nachos, good portion sizes for the kids meals
Went to an Irish pub for the music and it was a loud not great rock band
This place is a gem! The food, ambience, and service are great and the live music is terrific.
Very nice pub with good music and service. One of my wife's fish was not fresh and smelt a bit off but the second piece was good. I had the Dublin Pastry which has pulled chicken. I got a hard piece of the chicken cartridge in what was a tasty dish. I think the cooks need to take a bit more care in their food. We did enjoy our time there despite the food issues.
Add more smoked salmon to the Eggs Benny! Quantity was less than usual!!’
Very enjoyable evening with live music. Food was fantastic
The food was good , it was really busy when I went so the service was a bit slow and talk fast lol because if you don’t the waiter will be gone in a flash . Drinks are pricey and I think the decor could have been a little less dinchey , but the food alone was very good I would probably do a take out order from this place if I were to go back .
We love this pub. The food is always great, the staff are very engaged with the customers and always friendly. The atmosphere is energetic and upbeat. Definitely recommend this spot! Great for a group of friends or a dinner date (they also have a kids menu, and my kids love it there too)
Great service, great food and especially great value with the dine around halifax deal!
Great service, excellent entertainment, ease of booking our reservation and good follow up from the manager. We had a table on their 3rd floor, an excellent space.
Food was reasonably good and there was a great selection of beer on tap. Live music was good but you can't see the band from many if the seats so its less engaging. Overall worth a try.
I had the pan grilled haddock which was perfectly done; hardly any coating which is what I like and perfectly cooked. The lovely garden salad had a chipotle vinaigrette which was delicious. The accompanying coleslaw was a bit different - not creamy glop but varied and with a light vinaigrette was well - very good!
Good food reasonable prices excellent service clean premises
Great Robbie Burns night! We’ll be back next year (and before then too!)
Excellent as usual. Good to come back to a comfortable place. Ray
We always have an awesome time at The Old Triangle! Great music, food and service as always.
