Beautiful place to have a meal; light and airy with well-spaced tables. Staff were friendly and happy to take ownership of a small error with our order, which was quickly rectified. Food was nice, made with fresh ingredients.
Eaten at the plume before but never on weds for steak night , great food and as usual great service 👍
Lovely lunch. Roast dinner. Staff attentive and friendly. Fab time and I will be going back asap!
only problem with our visit was how hot it was in the conservatory need more blinds
it was very hot and we were pleased to sit in the garden after our meal
I know we don't have the extreme heat very often but it was uncomfortable
Thank you for making my wife's Birthday a lovely occasion.
We had a wonderful meal and enjoyed our drinks.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
Very polite and friendly.
I particularly enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding, will be having that again!!
Would highly recommend and look forward to booking again soon.
Thank you all.
First time here.Food could have been served hotter, that was the only complaint though. Nice restaurant not that far from home.Wide choice of food, will probably go again
Excellent as usual !
Always a safe bet for a good meal !
Great food and excellent service - thanks! One of our party is lactose intolerant - they were well catered for. Menu could be a little more extensive and prices could be a little lower
Love this place. There's different seating areas if you want a quieter spot away from the bar which has a tv. Great food with a changing menu - and a mean cocktail/mocktail.
Lovely tasty food that was great quality. We were attended to really quickly by friendly staff who were really helpful.
Will be lovely to return with a large group of family members for mums 70th in a few weeks!
Have already recommended it’s worth a visit to friends!
The food is always good and a bit quirky. So good to take a friends or family for an interesting meal in comfortable and welcoming surroundings.
We had a really good meal at the Plume of Feathers. I enjoyed a delicious burger whilst my wife had a traditional roast. The meat on her plate was of very good quality - none of those dry, conveyor-belt type slices you sometimes get at places.
Being able to bring our dog was very helpful, and though this limited us to the bar area, this was quiet and cosy, lending the perfect ambience for the final meal of our holiday. My only reservation would be that the drinks were perhaps somewhat expensive - as far as I remember, I paid over £5 for a gin & tonic - but the overall experience was very satisfying, and the staff were all very polite and helpful. We would certainly come back again!
unfortunately there was a long delay in our main courses arriving which spoiled the evening to a degree. No explanation or apology was offered even though we did ask about the food and was told it was on its way. Also one of the starters was small and therefore overpriced. Disappointing as have had good meals in the past.
Good choice. Very reasonably priced main courses particularly. Tasty desserts.
Average service combined with a sweet called 'mint chocolate selection' which at £9.00 was poor value and even worse taste and so the sweet should be avoided.
This is a shame because we have eaten before at this pub/restaurant and have been pleased.
As frequent users we like that staff remember who you are.
Only one occasion have we felt the need to inform them that all was not well with a particular dish.
That was fixed immediately with a smile and goodwill.
Booked a table for 6 people for Mother’s Day only to find we had been squashed onto a table for 4. It was so small we had to have glasses and plates removed from the table as there simply wasn’t room for everything. Larger tables were free and remained so all evening. Also, whilst not a major problem, I was sorry to see that the cloth napkins had been replaced with paper and the lovely colourful uniforms for the staff had gone.
We had two lovely meals here during our stay in Cornwall. Both times the food has been incredible, the atmosphere is lovely and you cannot fault the staff. Such a lovely pub!
Very good roast beef and plenty of it. The Yorkshire pudding were a little overdone, very crisp. The white chocolate brulee did not taste of white chocolate it was however a very nice brulee.
Inside of the pub area where is cosy and darker the waiting staff uniforms look dowdy and unflattering, far too masculine for the female staff.
Overall a pleasant experience, fast service, more gravy delivered within seconds of being requested and attentive staff. Well done.
Fantastic tasting food and service just busy so bit of a wait but we'll worth it
Great night! We came for my mums 50th birthday. Balloons already on the table for us without us asking. The young girl who served us was lovely and the food was amazing. Thank you :)
We had a very pleasant meal but it was rather noisy as it was so popular
Staff very pleasant, food good and atmosphere good
Lovely family birthday meal for my mum. We were made to feel so welcome and special without being over the top. Food was gorgeous and lovely gins too.
Booked Sunday lunch online for our first visit here for a meal. Was not in any way disappointed.
Confirmation of booking by email and requested a table in the conservatory area where we were seated.
Great staff great food and wine, great setting inside and out, you have to put The Plume of Feathers on your must go to list.
Whilst having and thoroughly enjoying our meal, we enquired and booked a table for 6 for Mothering Sunday. Delighted they were able to book our party in as we know already that we will not be let down.
Food wasn't anything special for the money. We had a Sunday roast. It wasn't very hot. There wasn't a lot of veg for 2 people. The pork was very fatty and not alot of it.
A lovely venue, excellent food and service. My only observation is that we were placed in the conservatory on a Saturday evening where there were small children and crying babies. While I understand it is a family friendly place, it would have been nice to be asked if we minded. It is not my intention to offend but for a romantic dinner this was not acceptable.
Its our third visit as our daughter lives nearby,
Good value and spotlessly clean
Was struggling to find a place to eat for valentines night, finally decided on coming here and it was a great choice! 😀 There’s a very nice atmosphere out in the conservatory and we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Food was great too, my steak was cooked just how I like it 😋 Will definitely be coming back soon 👍🏼
Great night thanks to a great venue, staff, food, drink, value! Definately recommend to anyone.... Will be booking again...
Really enjoyed a work retirement do at this restaurant. Very spacious area to sit, balloons on the table, and a log fire burning , it was plenty warm enough for a chilly evening.
The food was first class, everyone complimented the venue on their tasty meals. All round a successful evening out. Would eat here again
Very good food, service and ambience. Car parking also was easy. Would certainly return. Have been several times in the past, but not for a year or so.
We are four retired business partners who, since 2010, meet up quarterly for a catch up lunch. A different person pays each time & whoever's turn it is to pay, selects the venue.
Whilst we do like to try different venues for the sake of change, The Plume of Feathers has been our location of choice about twice as often as elsewhere.
Hopefully this single fact speaks for itself.
Good food with wide choice, nice ambiance any time of year (especially in conservatory), easy to get to location for all of us (from Truro, St Austell & Newquay), easy parking & OK prices (for the quality of food) that do not get too many complaints, even from a group of pensioners!
A super accessible location being less than a mile from the A30. Spacious attractive dining area with tables generously spaced out.
prompt and excellent service from all staff. We all had starters that everyone praised, I had the duck starter which was very tasty but I found the chutney was too sour for my taste. We all had the Beef roast which was delicious. Two of the party had a Crème Brule pudding which was outstanding, so all in all a big thank you to all the staff and chefs at the Plume of Feathers.
Ticks all the boxes. Lovely welcome, warm and friendly staff, excellent food all contained in a beautiful blended combination of old and new.
Quality cuisine in a quality establishment.one of our favourites
Very good ,quick & efficient service .
Food delicious & good size portions.
Very accommodating to our grandchildren, nothing was too much trouble.
Every time we visit The Plume of Feathers we are not disappointed with the food or their service. So friendly too.
We LOVE the Plume, with so many choices of venues to eat in our area we STILL end up there most weekends. I am vegan and my family vegetarian and although the menu is limited with vegan options the host and chefs are always happy to accommodate our lifestyle choice and the food quality is exceptional! The staff are friendly, hardworking, and speedy! The ambience is warm and welcoming with a ‘cosy pub’ side and a modern ‘open floor plan’ restaurant area...there is even a well in one and a tree growing in the middle of the other! Both areas have lovely cosy fires for winter dining.....Highly recommend and could rave on and on haha! Oh also.....very. Nice. Toilets! Always a must!
