Great evening at my favorite steak house. The potato skins are great and the prime rib was tender and so full of flavor
Wonderful dinner...great service. Excellent cut of prime rib. Always A-1
Classic, traditional steak house. Right down to the dark leather furniture and piano at the bar. Same with food - oysters Rockefeller and clams casino are old school dishes, but tasted great. If you want great service and steaks, give it a try.
Excellent worth every dime. Friendly staff. Great food
As usual, the Prime Rib was a special treat. We loved sharing this classic Baltimore scene with out-of-town friends. Always a winner....from potato skins to bread pudding!
Classy old school restaurant with top notch service.
As always we love The Prime Pib we believe it's Baltimore's number one restaurant hands down they really get it they understand it. Brad is a terrific manager he's always welcoming and efficient.
Our service is second to none and our meals are always top-shelf wonderful and exciting.
We love celebrating our birthdays at The Prime Pib
A great meal, very attentive and professional wait staff. We did have to wait at least 20 minutes past our reservation time, however.
Friendly and welcoming with old school sophistication. The maître d' and barkeepers in bow ties. Waiters in jackets and ties. Live jazz. Proper cocktails. We love eating at the bar because we get the privilege of visiting with folks like John, our bartender (and also one of the managers). He’s a native Baltimorean and has worked here for 35 years and treated us like old friends even though it was our fist visit. We’ll be back the next time we are in Baltimore.
We went for our anniversary celebration & prime rib did not disappoint. Our food was outstanding, the service was wonderful. Prime Rib served us a chocolate mousse pie with a candle in honor of our special day!
The food and service are always great!
It was perfect as always
First, there is complimentary valet service at the garage on Chase Street, which is great. It's a bit of a labyrinth to wind through from the garage to the actual restaurant entrance, but once you find your way inside, this is a lovely old-school spot with outstanding fare, great service, and lovely ambiance. The "live music" is actually subtle piano playing, not a raging rock band, so it's a nice backdrop of entertainment that still allows for dinner conversation at normal volume. Our lobster tails with crab imperial were prepared to absolute perfection, easily the best I've ever had. Highly recommend!
Been coming to the Prime Rib for a very long time. It never disappoints. For steak lovers, this restaurant is beyond compare. I truly do not think any steak restaurant comes close. Their seafood offerings are absolutely equal and in most areas surpass the best seafood restaurants in the Baltimore metro area. My husband is a steak/prime rib lover. I, on the other hand, love seafood. The food is a bit pricey, but in the 20 plus years of coming here, it is worth every penny. Try it, you will not be disappointed.
This was our first visit to The Prime Rib. Our server, Bob, was outstanding. He went above and beyond. When he found out that my daughter was a college student and we were visiting, he even wrapped up extra au jus and loaves of their delicious bread and butter that she could take with her leftovers. We will definitely be back!
This was the first time I was visiting Baltimore and a friend highly recommended The Prime Rib in Baltimore. The service was OUTSTANDING! The food was DELICIOUS! The dining room was WONDERFUL and had live music. If I ever go back to Baltimore, I'm dining again at The Prime Rib. It was truly a food-lovers paradise. I've been to many restaurants around the world but The Prime Rib will truly stand out as one of the best!
An amazing experience. Spent over 150 bucks on dinner and left feeling like I received a value. Service was top notch, atmosphere was romantic but not stuffy and the food was exceptional. Not an everyday place for my wife and I but glad we chose the prime rib for our anniversary. Next time we choose to splurge we are coming back.
Complimentary valet was great as well.
Had the NY strip, cooked perfectly. Paired it with the Rye Manhattan which was excellent. Service was personal and outstanding.
Celebrated friend's birthday at a table near the piano. As always, very nice ambience, excellent service all around, and, of course, incredible menu. The filet and rib eye were cooked perfectly, along with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. Soft shells delicious as well. I had not eaten here in quite awhile, and was
very pleased that The Prime Rib was as good as ever. A very special restaurant for special occasions.
Obviously a local restaurant. Very warm, welcoming and enjoyable. Will revisit on my return to Baltimore.
As always, this is the place to go if you like steaks and a very comfortable atmosphere. The pianist is outstanding setting the tone for a comfortable and enjoyable vibe. All of the staff are the best and we had Bob as our server who is great! The meal was perfect and the evening was very enjoyable. We have been going to the Prime Rib since the early nineties with my family and business associates. Can't beat it!
First visit. Will go back any time. Sunday half price wine list a find! 53 years in Baltimore. Quality supports their ongoing success.
The Prime Rib has been our go-to special occasion restaurant for 17 years. We love the old-school decor and menu and are willing to pay handsomely for them when the experience merits it. Alas, this meal didn't.
Our server tried to rush me into ordering my oysters and prosecco seconds after we'd been seated. When I said I needed a moment and wanted to give my husband a chance to decide on an appetizer, he disappeared for 20 minutes. The appetizers were fine and my husband's steak pleased his palate, but my rockfish had an unpleasant flavor - new kind of seasoning? - that I can only describe as sweet. I asked our server for a crab cake and was told that not only would the order be put in immediately, but that the maitre'd was coming right over to talk to me. It took 20 minutes for the crab cake (which was very bland) to arrive and another 10 for the maitre'd to put in an appearance. By that time, my husband was almost finished eating and I was livid because of the shrieking we'd been listening to on and off throughout our meal.
Oh, I forgot to mention the toddler at the next table. Yes, a toddler - too young to sit in her own chair - past 7pm, at a restaurant where entrees are served a la carte and start around $38. Toddlers shriek, even when happy; it's part of toddler-ness. I get it. But when we are spending around $300 on dinner, we do not want our evening punctuated by shrieks. Anyone's.
So, after mentioning the weird taste of the rockfish and the very tardy, subpar crab cake to the maitre'd, I made a comment about the youngster's presence. "WE ALLOW KIDS!" was his reply. And rude staff, evidently.
The atmosphere and food was great .. will definitely come again.
Still my favorite steakhouse in Baltimore. Top notch food, drinks and service. Beyond the superb steak and crab cakes, the sides (potato skins, house salad, creamed spinach) were exceptional. Truly a classic restaurant and dining experience.
My absolute favorite! The food is excellent from the peanuts at the bar to the salad to the entrees and including the vegetables and desserts! I need to dine here at least once a month. I love sitting at the bar equally to dining at a table. Great restaurant, great food.
The overall experience at the Prime Rib is nice, but the vegetarian platter is a complete rip-off. Obviously, there are chefs there who know how to cook, so why not come up with something a little creative rather than dump a bunch of other people’s side vegetables on the plate and charge a lot for it. One item was literally nothing but a whole tomato with some cheese on top - was tempted to throw it rather than eat it. If they don’t do vegetarian, they should admit it, not just rip diners off.
I have been going to the Prime Rib for at least 43 years and have never been disappointed.
excellent. expensive, but damn it's good. Bill, our waiter, was superior.
We celebrated my son’s 16th birthday on a very busy Friday evening. Our party included 3 extra tall men and my wheelchair-bound mother, which usually results in some sort of environmental drama, but we had an amazing evening! Service was impeccable, timely and friendly; we did not feel at all rushed and, it seemed like at every point that we could possibly need something, our server was there! Food is a wonderful quality and portion sizes were appropriate for a steak house. Drinks were spot on. My son had a special dinner that he will always remember!
I have always been a big fan of the prime rib. I have not been there in years. I was disappointed on a number of fronts. I have always thought of it as an elegant, gracious place. Unfortunately, there were a lot of people there in jeans, without jackets, etc. I was looking for someone in shorts, but thankfully there was nobody. What happened to unforeseen an elegant dress code? The food was less good than I remember it. I had a New York strip, the same as I had the night before at a local Argentinian. The Argentinian one was clearly superior. That’s too bad given the steaks are signature. Also, a nice older gentleman served us, and was fairly attentive, but unfortunately had an unappealing odor about him. Will probably give you one last chance, but I think if we were not long-standing devotees, this would have been our last time.
Condensation was dripping on me and my food the entire evening, the waiter told us he would inform the Maitre D, issue was totally ignored and no one came to our table to address it or offered to move us.
The Baltimore Prime Rib never disappoints! Consistent excellence, whether you are a meat lover or a fish lover. We have been coming here for over 50 Years for special occasions and it is always perfection. The mixologist makes the best martinis anywhere. The Prime Rib martini buzz is unlike any other...it’s magic. This time I had the Chilean Sea Bass, and it was delicious — perfectly cooked. We hope to live long enough to come back many times more!
Been going since I was a child. Love the PR
Monday night so nice and quiet, the staff has taken care of us for 40 years.
The food was great and the service was outstanding. We enjoyed the ambience and the waiter was knowledgeable.
Edward was an amazing server. The meal was delicious. The drinks were perfect. We couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate our anniversary.
My first visit to The Prime Rib and it for sure will not be my last. Came in with my wife for our anniversary and we had a wonderful time. Our server Bobby was very prompt and attentive. He made it a fantastic experience for us. Our meals were cooked to perfection, the signature “Prime Rib” was the best steak I’ve ever had. Looking forward to making the trip back.
Celebrated three family birthdays! The Prime Rib is our go-to restaurant for special occasions! Awesome. Our server Nathan was great, too! Lovely special evening!
The Prime Rib does what it does extremely well. Wonderful dinner. Rack of lamb, filet mignon, rockfish and crab cake. Service a bit slow and not always attentive.
