The Rattlesnake Club
Dinner Tuesday - Thursday: 4:30pm - 10:00pm, Friday - Saturday: 5:30pm - 11:00pm
Horrible wait staff. Save your money and go somewhere where they actually have their act together! After asking to move tables, our waitress said that another server would take over. However, no other server showed up. When the hostess was alerted to this, she did absolutely nothing. Now I understand why their dining room was half empty at 7 pm on a Saturday night. Thank you so much Rattlesnake Club for ruining our special anniversary dinner!
Amazing place! We go here for our anniversary, generally pretty quiet, depends on who you sit next to. Overall amazing place
Excellent food and service, server had great recommendations and was knowledgeable about the menu
Fabulous atmosphere, but our server wasn’t very knowledgeable on the details of the menu and seemed to be nervous and not very confident. The food was good, but the attention to detail all around in our whole experience wasn’t as high end service that it use to be!
Had a great time here. The atmosphere is lovely and their was plenty of privacy. Food was delicious! We did have 8 people and 2 of the plates came out wrong, but mistakes happen and they handled it well.
Food was excellent and they gave us a complementary dessert for our anniversary.
We were one of 3 tables on the patio and there were two servers, yet we waited to long to be served and to get the meals. Our dining time was 6:15 and the restaurant inside had only a couple of diners.
Sitting outside was nice but be warned there are honey bees all over.
The beet salad was very good. The calamari and shrimp appetizer was 95% calamari. I wouldn't order it again.
$68 for two salads and 1 appetizer.
A hiccup of sorts . . . My wife and I have been to the Rattlesnake Club a number of times and have had memorable meals/experiences. Last Saturday night, we ordered dinner with a cheese course, wine (nice Oregon Pinot Noir) and it all came out great. With dinner, my meal came out but my wife's halibut did not come out at the same time. I waited a bit thinking it was on its way. Our waiter, Greg, came by after the expediter brought out my meal to check on us. We told him that Julie's dish had not yet come out. He checked with the kitchen, apologized, and put in the order quickly. The halibut was properly prepared, but the orzo was not. It seemed rushed because it was.
Greg handled it properly bu buying us a cocktail and taking the halibut off of the bill.
I'd still go back given our long history, but it just goes to show everyone can have a bad day once in a while.
Love the location close to the Riverwalk. Beautiful grounds and view.
I enjoyed a delicious gluten free quinoa vegaterian dish along with a glass of red wine. I would have ordered a second drink but our waiter was very slow to check in with us after our food was delivered.
Otherwise we enjoyed our dinner.
I expected a lot more from this restaurant. Not the highest end dining, but we had empty wine and beer bottles sit on our table, had to ask for refills and for serving spoons for our side dishes, had to ask for an extra plate for a split dinner and were offered a bread plate (to split a 16oz Strip, which was ordered as a split). Were offered 1 dessert menu as a table of 4. Just a lot of sloppy, small things that will push this restaurant out of competing with the others downtown. We went on a Friday at 6:30 and there were maybe 4-5 tables.
I moved to Charlotte about 6 years ago and this is the first time I’ve been back to this restaurant since then. The food is decent and the prices are reasonable, but something is just missing. I definitely think they need to update the look of the restaurant. It’s so dated and underwhelming for such a fantastic location. The playing was rather boring and the wine list was smaller than most restaurants. I’d give it another try when I’m back in town.
We had a great dinner. Great service. My tuna was delicious.
Great food with subtle flavors. Attentive waitstaff. Cosmopolitan decor. Quiet - no blaring TVs or background music.
While in the D for the Jazz Festival, enjoyed an amazing meal here. Attentive service, creative entrees for gluten-free & vegetarian/vegans, yet my husband really enjoyed the tuna. Particularly enjoyed the Hemingway cocktail. Ambience is classy and uncluttered. A gem. We will be there again next year!
Steak was great, Calamari was just so-so.
A giant disappointment in service. Fresh and delicious food that took a while, though half the restaurant was empty. Too many errors and insults from service staff. I went for my anniversary and our evening was soiled by abrasive attitude and forgetful service.
It’s been a while. We were not disappointed. Thank you Brandon!
Nice restaurant. Had the lake perch and it was really good. Service was very attentive. The only negative was the the restaurant was pretty empty at 7PM on a Friday night.
Great date dinner with my wife. Excellent meal, great service and an all around beautiful place.
Service was very slow due to staff being short handed... they did comp a glass of wine after a very long wait... had to ask for the comp.....
We had lunch here with friends and sat outside. It was a beautiful sunny, breezy day, so it was very
pleasant. The food at lunch was so good, that we decided to come back for lunch a few days later.
Dinner was delicious, I had lamb loin, sliced and served with a delicious corn polenta. The other couple
shared a large rib steak, with several side dishes. My husband had a fish dish. All in all, we all really
enjoyed our meals. Nice ambience, good service, and good food, what more could you ask for. We will
I have been to the Rattlesnake several times and this experience was a huge disappointment. Our service was awful !!! The side dishes did not arrive until after we were done eating dinner. One of our guests dinner was terrible and not eatable. The Server just picked it up and made no comment and did not return! We telephoned afterwards and the Manager blamed us! Will not return!
Arrived 5 min early for our reservation and allowed 2 hours for our meal. Restaurant was not crowded.
Service was unacceptable and barely ate our dinner for having to rush to make the theatre start time.
Not all items ordered were delivered to table.
It was our first time dining here and most likely will not be returning.
The Rattlesnake Club never disappoints!!! A Detroit gem for three decades, this chic and earthy dining venue has withstood the test of time by devoting itself to class and tradition. We will continue to return to one of Detroit’s finest dining establishments.
The ambiance was not as romantic as expected. It was quite stark and “cold”, not referring to the temperature. The calamari was pretty good but basic. The scallops were awesome and the ribeye was quite good.
Overall good experience but no wow factor.
I've dining at Rattlesnake for over 25 years. It remains my favorite restaurant in Detroit.
The Rattlesnake never disappoints. Not as trendy as all the new restaurants opening around town, which is good because you can almost always get in. Food and service are always good just a little pricey.
Amazing as always. Great outdoor venue. Service was superb
wonderful!!!! edward was the
best ❤️ sat outside...beautiful evening wonderful food.
Maria the Wine Sommelier was and is the best...whenever she recommends a new wine for us which gets us to step out of our box...we end up adding it to our list of favorites. Greg tends to be our waiter without asking for him and he is super and when we can’t decide between two dishes he always suggests the right one, or at least we are happy with the one he suggests. We just love sitting on the patio when weather permits. Thanks for a great evening!!!
Great value for a high end restaurant. The staff was very attentive and friendly. It was an excellent choice for our 16th Anniversary.
It seemed like they were short staffed. When we arrived there was no hostess available. We needed to ask for bread. Service seemed slow.
We were late and on our way to a concert. We advised the waitress and she had our meals prepared immediately. We made it to the concert in record time.
What a fabulous place to dine. Have heard of the Rattlesnake Club for years now and was finally able to make it there. Had a wonderful dining experience with our dinners/desserts/drinks! The Baker makes wonder breads and delicious desserts. The Chef has exquisite tastes put together that just blend beautifully.
It was a fabulous start to our evening before we headed to Chene Park for the Boney James concert!!
We were celebrating my husbands 50th Birthday. The staff and our waitress made him feel very special. The food was delicious and the view of the Detroit River was very relaxing.
We had a wonderful waiter, but we found the perch meal to be too heavy. It was fried fish on a bed of fried potatoes on top of mashed potatoes with a very rich creamy sauce. Everything tasted good, but it was too much richness. We would like to go back because the service is fabulous and the setting is perfect, but we will order from the grill menu to be sure we get some vegetables with our meal and not so much fried food.
Marsha is the best! All of our selections came out just right. Though we've been there previously in group settings, this occasion was equally as enjoyable.
We went to the Rattlesnake Club to celebrate multiple wedding anniversaries for our group. The service was great, the food was fabulous and the staff treated us well! We sat on the patio and had a lovely evening. We were treated to cake with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on the plate, thanks for the extra attention to our table! We were impressed and glad we finally made it there for dinner.
The food , ambiance, and service were exceptional. The location of the restaurant near the Detroit River is very attractive.
