The Rattlesnake Club
Dinner Tuesday - Thursday: 4:30pm - 10:00pm, Friday - Saturday: 5:30pm - 11:00pm
We had a wonderful waiter, but we found the perch meal to be too heavy. It was fried fish on a bed of fried potatoes on top of mashed potatoes with a very rich creamy sauce. Everything tasted good, but it was too much richness. We would like to go back because the service is fabulous and the setting is perfect, but we will order from the grill menu to be sure we get some vegetables with our meal and not so much fried food.
Marsha is the best! All of our selections came out just right. Though we've been there previously in group settings, this occasion was equally as enjoyable.
We went to the Rattlesnake Club to celebrate multiple wedding anniversaries for our group. The service was great, the food was fabulous and the staff treated us well! We sat on the patio and had a lovely evening. We were treated to cake with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on the plate, thanks for the extra attention to our table! We were impressed and glad we finally made it there for dinner.
The food , ambiance, and service were exceptional. The location of the restaurant near the Detroit River is very attractive.
Great service and wonderful food
There were four of us at the table. Service and food were excellent. RS has always been one of my favorites. It did not disappoint. Sorry to learn that one of my favorite bartenders had passed away.
The setting was very quiet, which of the situation was great. I was out of town and met my girlfriend for a nice quiet dinner halfway between home and where I was stationed. We ordered a few cocktails (dirty kettle one martinis) they were a little heavy on the olive juice but the Gorg olives were amazing, and you could tell they were hand stuffed. We also purchased a bottle of wine that I was familiar with prior. We ordered the oysters, a couple salads and I had the filet dinner and she had the salmon. Both were good in their own respects, the asparagus had an oddly bitter taste. But in all that was the worst part of the night, which really isn’t anything.
I have been going to the Rattlesnake Club for 30 years. Have even been to the one in Denver when they had it open. It has slipped a few notches overall. Menu needs more choices/variety and service is just mediocre. Lots of competition out there now. They need to step it up!
Resraurant is over´rated. Prices astronomical. Seafood menu pathetic. Disappointed in menu overall
Staff very friendly ,especially Lisa.
Expectations exceeded reality unfortunately.
The restaurant was essentially empty, with one other table occupied besides ours. The decor is more casual than expected in this price range, and the menu is fairly limited as well. We ordered starter cocktails, which were reasonably good, and a appetizer of fried calamari and shrimp. This was very "fishy"and greasy and I wouldn't order it unless this is your thing. The entrees were nicely prepared and much better tasting than the appetizer.
Unfortunately the waiter forgot to bring us the wine we had ordered with our entrees, despite the fact there were only two tables to serve at that time. We opted to skip dessert as we basically just wanted to leave, but he brought out a slice of chocolate cake for the three of us to split, as I'm sure he knew his tip was not looking good at this point.
The cake was probably the best item we had, so we left a good tip.
Overall, decent food, marginal service and ambience, wouldn't return. Unfortunate as it sounds like it used to be a good restaurant that has just gone downhill.
What should have been an enjoyable evening at an old favorite was less than stellar due to very poor service. It took her 10 minutes just to acknowledge our presence and take a drink order. When it came time for dinner orders she walked away before 1 of our group was able to complete his order. The food runner complained that she had screwed up so that both the appetizers and entrees were in no semblance of order. At best she was inattentive. All 4 of us commented at one point or another about the bad service. The Rattlesnake is too good to have such substandard help.
First time dining at the Rattlesnake Club and the food and ambience did not disappoint. For a Saturday night, the restaurant was surprisingly empty, but the service was great. Loved everything from the friendly hostess to the support staff who kept our water glasses full and made sure we tried both the housemade focaccia and crackers, which were the staffer's personal favorite. Complimentary dessert for the birthday boy was also appreciated. After dinner, we walked along the river front. Great food, great atmosphere, and fantastic location.
The ambience of the Rattlesnake Club is very alluring and the waterfront view of the Detroit River enhances the experience. Need to address parking through vouchers, especially for those who want to patronize the establishment on a recurring basis.
The food was wonderful! We had a fish and steak dish. They were both so delicious. The staff was very attentive and friendly!
Attractive dishes, nice ambience, nice views, friendly service and good value. I would definitely recommend.
We had such a great experience for my boyfriend's birthday dinner. The waitress was absolutely wonderful, the drinks were great, the appetizer/bread was really good, our dinner was DELICIOUS, and the dessert with "Happy Birthday" written on it was a yummy great touch! The view of the Detroit River was breathtaking as well. Thank you so much for making his birthday dinner so fantastic!
We had our anniversary dinner here and we were both first timers. My husband and I each had the 8oz. filet with crab. They were cooked to perfection as I don't like mine as rare. We shared sides; asparagus and mac&cheese. Just as good as the steaks! Wine was very good and we probably should have just gotten a bottle. The chocolate ravioli was a great finisher. It's kind of like stepping into the 1980's but food and service made us not notice the surrounding decor. We'll definitely be back!
The food and service was excellent. Scott was a great waiter. We enjoyed our dining experience and will come back soon.
It was really quiet the night we went. Good was delicious. Service was solid. Bread was a little dried out. Steaks we're perfect.
This was our first visit to the Rattlesnake and we were extremely impressed. We were running late due to construction on the highway so I called to let them know, they were very kind and said no worries. Our table would wait! We were seated right away upon our arrival and were greeted by our waitress with a smile. She was very knowledgeable and patient in letting us take our time with previewing the menu. We ordered the calamari which was fantastic! Tender, not chewy! Our entrees were exquisitely paired with complimentary sides! I had the lamb with curry coconut lentils and my husband had the boursin filet. The presentation of our plates was a work of art! For dessert we shared the flourless cake and enjoyed a slice of heaven. We were so happy to come here on our last night of Broadway in Detroit. I would definitely reccommend the Rattlesnake to our friends and family! We are looking forward to our next meal!
It was perfect dinner for group or a couple prior to concert or broadway show or opera, it met our criteria on fine dinning with good food, quiet environment, modern decor and artwork. I found it's great location 6 min away from the Fisher theater, restaurant participated in discount promotions 25% off for people who attended the performance, that was great idea. My husband and I will be returning in the summer for outdoor patio for wine testing.
Outstanding experience. Wonderful service. Great atmosphere. Good appetizers. The perch was excellent. Quinoa bowl was a nice vegetarian option. We will be back.
Decent food, but nothing exceptional; excellent service. Unfair 21% service charge for table over 6. Most other places will have service charge of 18%. Would NOT recommend for tables where this charge would be added. Dining service is its best feature at this point.
Ambiance did not match the name of the restaurant...................!
Best dining in the D. Seasonal menu always fresh and creative. Great staff, service and ambience
Hav not been here in many years. Not as good as we remembered it to be.
Amazing as always, from the food to the service, love this place.
Our first and last time there. We walk in and there was no host finally after 10min one comes up asks me if we have a reservation I said yes and he could not find my name or didn't know how to use the computer. server was reminded after 15min of being there to come to us by one of the hosts there that gave us water. bread was dried and food was not good at ALL. I was not expecting it to be like this for the area its located in and the atmosphere they should have better food and service
Incredible experience. Service was impeccable, food was fast but well prepared and I was never without a drink.
We have always wanted to dine here, as it is an iconic Detroit restaurant. We very much enjoyed our meal ... the steaks were spot on. The prices seemed a bit higher and portions were a bit smaller than what we would typically pay for at other high-end restaurants, thus the 4-star rating.
Beautiful restaurant with delicious food, great wine list, and fun cocktails.
Excellent food, very nice by the water and terrific cocktails.
Amazing food, service, and ambience. Looking forward to coming in the summer to sit outside.
Stopped in during Restaurant Week because we’ve never been before. Delicious food, outstanding service.
We dined at the Rattlesnake Club during Detroit Restaurant Week - the food, service and ambiance was amazing! From the moment we entered the restaurant to the time we left it was amazing experience. We will be back!
Service was very good. Went for Restaurant week. Food was very good but my serving of the duck was very small.
Visited The Rattlesnake after a long absence, to celebrate hubbies Birthday. It was wonderful. Not only was the food great, but our waiter, Brandon was as well. Will absolutely return to The Rattlesnake!
Went to the restaurant after seeing they were offering a Detroit Restaurant Week menu. Easy to get a reservation at our desired time and they had our table ready within two minutes of arrival. We were really surprised to learn once we were seated that they were not offering their normal menu in addition to Restaurant Week options. Thankfully, we were happy with the limited menu options. Our selections (spaghetti squash with vegetables and the salmon) were delicious! Restaurant was perfect for conversation and a leisurely meal. I would definitely return!
