We chose restaurant week options. Mine was a pork loin with cherry glaze. Pork was dry, vegetables a bit over cooked. I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir which tasted like it had been from on open bottle for a few days. Ordered decaf coffee with dessert which was very bitter / had an aftertaste. This was for a birthday celebration and was very disappointing. I would not come here again.
We were in town to visit the falls. We had not been there before. We found the restaurant on the internet and read the reviews. We decided to try it. We were not disappointed. The food was great, the service was also great and a cozy atmosphere
Service was so poor - all around. I waited at the door by the "wait to be seated" sign for over 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged me (and yes, there were servers and a bartender walking around). I was seated for ten minutes before a server said "has anyone been with you yet?" (Umm. No.). The guy who brought bread to the table just sat it down and ran off (and yet, I had just heard him explaining to the table nearby about the various varieties of butter). Waited a good half hour for a burger and fries (I do appreciate that the server let me order this. It wasn't technically on the dinner menu, but I saw one being served to a table nearby and ordered one.) No one ever came by to check to see how my dinner was (if they had, I would have asked for mayo). I waited, and waited, and waited. Finally decided to just eat it as is.
My lemon drop martini was good. The burger was good. Fries were delicious.
Again, waited about 10-15 minutes after I was finished. No one ever stopped by the table. I stopped a host seating another table and asked him to send my server with the check. The guy who dropped off the bread dropped off the check. NO ONE EVER CAME BACK. I had my credit card sitting there for a good 10 mintues. Finally scrounged around in my purse to see if I had case. Ended up having exact change for the bill. I did see my server on the way out. She was standing with two other servers. . chatting.
I waited tables for years and tip generously. I never stiff a server. But honestly had no choice since no one ever came to pick up the check. What really annoys me is that it seemed like other folks were getting better service. Perhaps the issue was a woman dining alone? PLEASE it's 2018.
We waited 8 minutes to be seated in a half empty restaurant. This front of the house is a fricking zoo , no manager or direction. Food is fair , my NY Strip was a cheap grizzly piece of meat, very yuk. I also had breakfast there , terrible waitstaff but no manager present. I NEVER got a second cup of coffee, waited 11 minutes for my check. This place is charming with SO MUCH potential but no manager and ownership doesn't give a crap.
Dining and service we're both exceptional. They made for a very special evening to come true.
The restaurant is handily placed when visiting the falls, as there is not much else around. However, the service was among the worst experienced. We had made a reservation and were seated fairly promptly. Although the restaurant was not full, it took a long time before our server appeared, who took orders for drinks and food. Two starters appeared before the drinks. We needed to prompt the waiter who served the starters to find out where our drinks were. In total it was more than 30 minutes before we were served drinks. Then we waited some considerable time for the mains after the starters had been cleared. No follow up to see if we were enjoying our meal.
What a beautiful restaurant! It was a unseasonably warm day, which is perhaps the reason the staff wasn't ready for patio seating. It was open, but not prepared. Some of the staff seemed a little frazzled.
The view and the food however, was wonderful. My friend and I started with the Almond Coconut Shrimp. Loved every bite. The orange sauce had some nice heat to it!
I ordered the pear salad with candied pecans, dried cranberries and goat cheese with maple-fig vinaigrette. It was delicious, if a bit sweet.
My friend had the beef on weck with potato salad. Generous portions on everything. He declared it to be one of the best he'd ever had. We really enjoyed our experience and will be back!
We went for breakfast one day on our vacation. We loved it so much we went back another day for breakfast and back the same day for dinner. It was the best food we had out of any restaurant in Niagara Falls. The price was comparable to such places as Hard Rock Café, TGI Fridays, but the food was of MUCH better quality and taste, and the atmosphere is unbeatable! Very classy!
Service was great . Fast and friendly
Food was delicious! The crab omelette was exceptional
My husband and I had breakfast AND dinner here and it was delicious. Dinner took a little longer to get our Apps so if you’re in a rush, consider the time. The bar is small and intimate but the drinks are delicious. The staff is very friendly. The food was sooooo good and reasonable. We will definitely be back again
Got to restaurant early and we were able to get an outside seat. Watching the water and the park as the sun went down was wonderful.
My wife and I were there for the weekend. This restaurant made it unforgettable. Staff was awesome. Food was exceptional. Would highly recommend.
The food value was poor. The food ordered was incomplete, no shrimp on a shrimp dish. The broccoli was over cooked. The asparagus was stringy and hard to eat. Two dishes had to be returned to the kitchen. I won’t give this restaurant any credit at all. The waitress was very friendly. The rest of the experience was awful. Take my advice and stay away. You’d be happy if you do.
The Red Coach Inn is a charming Tudor style building situated across the street from the rapids in Niagara Falls. The staff was polite, efficient and helpful.
My husband and I shared the Finger Lakes Pear Salad... perfect size for sharing. Delicious.
However, the sword fish entree was overcooked and served with a mashed potato size scoop of butter served on top. Seems waste of a lot of butter and made a greasy mess of the fish and plate.
My duck breast was delicious. It came with a side of risotto, which I normally love, but was heavy and a bit glutinous.
Overall, we didn’t think we got good value for our money. Too bad. It would be a wonderful place to curl up beside the big hearth in the winter having a glass of some warming.
We sat outside and it was a pleasant day. Our waitress was Holly and her uniform was all spotted with food- looked like it wasn’t washed in weeks. She brought the first round of drinks pretty quickly and we placed our food order. And we waited 35-40 minutes before our food came out and were promised a refill on our drinks for 25 of those minutes. The salmon sandwich was good but the sweet potato fries were cold, the ham on rye bottom bread was completely soggy unlike the top piece and my pear salad w shrimp was good. When our order finally came out- Holly served a monte cristo to us and we caught it and gave the sandwich to the correct table. So our only conclusion is that our order sat for quite some time before being served. We dropped quite a few hints of our dissatisfaction as well as the others that were sitting outside. People that sat way after us were served in 10-15 minutes but they had different waitresses.
This is the first time that i only left a $1 dollar tip and noted on the receipt that it was due to the poorest service i have ever had. I usually tip 20%+...
We were told by a friend who had been here many times that you have to go, we were not disappointed as the restaurant if you eat outside has a good view of the rapids t the falls. The inside is vintage with the old wood beams, doors, and the tables were all heavy old school wood. Michael our server was outstanding, food was also wonderful we will come back on our next trip
we would have loved to have not been seated right next to a wedding party where we could not really talk.i felt bad bc I had a toddler while they were trying to celebrate with family.but the entrees were delicious. we did not care for the salads.
From the Coconut Shrimp appetizer, bread and olive oil w/balsamic and 2 butters, the blacked chicken w/red pepper pasta, the crab stuffed Cod to the peanut butter pie, these meals were delicious and beautifully presented. Pics of shrimp and pasta attached. Hard part was picking off the menu because everything looked delicious. We CHOSE to eat outside so it was a little noisy but was still wonderful.
The dinner specials were awesome. Service was a bit unorganized, but service staff was also very accommodating.
Thank goodness for open table because no one answers the phones
Visiting from New York City. Happy to report that the Red Coach Inn lived up to its expectations. Wonderful service and delicious food in a quaint atmosphere.
They have a good reputation and were recommended by our hotel. However, they seem to be living on their reputation. Service was rushed, with entrees arriving while we ate our salads. The scallops dish was bland. The chicken was over cooked. There was no offer to refill our drinks. We honestly had a better meal at Olive Garden a couple nights before.
Eating here was a very special experience for my boyfriend's birthday. The food and service were excellent!
We went to the falls for our 30th wedding anniversary and this was one of the recommendations by our Inn. We were so pleased with the food. I had the artichoke spinach dip with their impossible to resist bread and my husband had crab cakes for our appetizers. Never had better. For our entrees, I ordered the seafood platter and husband ordered surf and turf. The portions were generous but not enough to leave you with that uncomfortable feeling. We opted for coffee and the best cheesecake I've eaten in 21 years. Sara was our server along with Alvi (not sure I spelled his name correctly) and we were treated so nicely. I felt like they knew us. So energetic and attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We will go back
Very nice place to view the falls while eating. I love the looks of the building. England style. Waitress was very nice and .... was from Canada. Next time I go I'm going to get a room here. Very close to niagra state park.
The host and the servers where excellent. The food was delicious. We had a great time as part of our vacation in Niagara USA.
everything was excellent, would recommend to friends
We had a wonderful Friday night dinner at Red Coach. My husband had the steak and I had the "chicken french." Both were delicious and beautifully prepared. I loved the risotto that came with the chicken entree, and the vegetables with the steak were fresh and delicious. We had a secluded nook table that was cozy and quiet. The wait staff was friendly and efficient and also very helpful with local tips.
We were in Niagra on vacation and looking for a nice dinner spot. The restaurant was recommended by the hotel we were staying in and they were right.....the service was great and the meal delicious.
For great food and gracious service, this gem is a real find. We sat overlooking the rapids; and our table was quiet and cozy. Everything was cooked to perfection; and the portions were generous. Our waitress was cordial, knowledgeable, and very accomodating. We enjoyed our first meal there several years ago and returned because we remembered it so fondly. This time, we enjoyed our meal so much, we came back a second evening.
The food was fantastic. The ambiance great. The service OK. There is really nothing negative I can say about the Red Coach Inn except it is a little pricie.
Excellent meal and very attentive staff.
Very nice, we'll be back soon. Great spot for outdoor dining. How can you beat sitting by the Falls rapids?
Walking distance to the falls. Quiet, inside is cozy, casual clothing or dressed to impress fit. Inside and outside seating. Staff was amazing from the moment we walked in the door. Food was fantastic, regular menu and specials. Portions are large so be prepared to et and relax.
Excellent food. Outstanding waitress, who even removed bees and put them back outside to fly away! The view was great. Highly recommend it to everyone.
Food was not as good as anticipated
The service was wonderful. The food was extraordinary good and the beer was cold. What more could one ask for? The dining room has character with plush seats exposed beams and a huge fireplace
If going to Niagara Falls, this place is a must.
Good menu selections. Our group had swordfish, chicken parm and chicken French which were all excellent Staff was very friendly and attentive.
My most favorite restaurant. Always good food and service and the atmosphere is perfect for a night out for dinner with family and friends.
Excellent service from our server, Michael. We celebrated our 30th anniversary there on Monday and loved the look of the outside and inside. Very nice for the occasion.
Visiting the falls saw the restaurant on the trolley ride and gave it a try. Great food great staff. Had s wonderful time and it was a nice ending to a nice visit The chicken piccata and the swordfish were terrific Desserts were outstanding also
