The Salmon House
The Salmon House is world renowned for its fresh seafood and comprehensive BC wine list; accentuated by breath-taking views, warm comfortable surroundings and native art decor.
Great service and knowledgeable staff
the taste of the tea we ordered was not good
we came to the Sunday brunch for their hot fresh baked croissants, but they served us cold croissants
A timeless classic with unique West Coast architecture and stunning views.
It’s a one-of-a-kind place on the north shore
They don’t get any better than this
My birthday dinner with my wife, daughter and 93 year-old mother was fantastic, the food was superb, the service excellent and the tranquility with the beautiful view of Stanley Park, Burrard Inlet and Coal Harbor unforgettable. Salmon House on the Hill is by far my favorite restaurant in Vancouver.
Had a great time at the Salmon House - food was great, service was good, view was amazing. Ambiance was excellent - loved the live music and dancing in the bar after dinner. The only thing that distracted from a perfect night was a couple of children running through the restaurant all through dinner and desert - found this very distracting and it took away from the overall experience.
Great service and food. Valentine’s Day was great except the table beside us were too close the men spoke very loud and no stop it wasn’t making the evening very romantic. Not sure if staff could do anything about this
Once again the Salmon House provided excellent food with friendly and professional service. I notice an improvement in recent months which is an achievement for a fine restaurant which has a long tradition of excellence on the North Shore.
Great food, great service. Best view.
Always same menu. We are bored with it. Hope they would have special menu every month.
Very nice atmosphere inside, lots of beautiful art work to look at. Servers were very friendly and continuously coming to our table to ensure everything was good. The view from our table over the city sky line is absolutely amazing. I would recommend it to anyone that visits Vancouver.
Place is nice and has great view. Food is delicious. Good environment for friends and family.
Stunning views, great service and tasty food. Brunch is my favourite to celebrate with family and friends
Very good and romantic dining place, perfect for couple dating. The restaurant is designed to let you enjoy the breathtaking view from all angles of the restaurant.
The portion was sampler size, no value. The seafood fettuccini had 2 small prawns, 2 clams, 2 small mussels, a few pieces of salmon, and a small bowl of pasta. The dessert was bland tasting and small. Not impressed. The service was good and wonderful view.
Service was slow. Inattentive...
Premium price demands premium service .
Price was expensive due we what had and the service we had but that said the quality was good.
Lobster gnocchi was fantastic! Service was excellent!
Been eating here for almost 30 years. The room is in great shape, best view in the city. Food was fantastic, service was great. Got the last sablefish and it was to die for.
The food, service, view and time we had with friends was all fantastic.
Me and my wife went there for her birthday, we both ordered from the dine out manu, the food is ok but the services is poor especially our main waiter only come to our table 3 times, one for given us the manu, second for the ordering the third time for billing and never seen him smile. Not a good dinning expernice for us.
Really enjoyed our meal. The view was fantastic. Service was great.
It was my parents 42nd anniversary and I brought a cake that I paid $50 for. After dinner we had dessert, and I noticed they haven’t brought out the cake I brought. After going to the waiter, he said they gave the cake to another table. He apologized but only refunded me $50 for the cake and made a make shift cake for my parents. I feel they should of taken off more on my bill as I spent over $400. The experience there this time around as a continuos loyal customer of the salmon house on the hill really hurt as I feel they could of done better. They gave me a 50% off if I buy another meal coupon which I felt was a slap in the face for the amount of money I’ve spent there in the past. Horrible experience for this fine dining restaurant.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating when our party of four (plus!) showed up with an infant that they did not expect. We were shown to our window side table and enjoyed the most gorgeous sunset and clear view of the city and Vancouver Isand in recent weeks. The Salmon House paticipated in "Dine Out Vancouver" which made it nice to order a full course meal and to have the flexibility to augment our choices from the menu however we wanted...which we did! The food was delicious and we were not rushed. We were surprised to receive a birthday candle for our son who was celebrating a birthday. By the time we left the city lights twinkled a lovely farewell to our party.
We celebrated two birthdays and the restaurant acknowledged them with candles in the desserts.
We enjoyed the dine out experience which is good value.
The service was great, the hostess was fantastic. The food was average, the wine was super expensive, 16$ for a 5oz glass of petit Chablis. (The bottle cost 30$ in the liquor store)
Food was excellent, could have been warmer though.
Noise level was low just in case I misinterpreted the response. I selected the smallest bar as noise level was low making for a very pleasant experience.
Great food, view and overall experience. Will recommend. Thanks!
Such a nice view and good was good. Service really good
I had the dine out menu. The seafood chowder is a red broth instead of white which is a little unexpected. I would have preferred a white broth. The fish paste on the salmon entree was very salty and kind of not belong to the dish. Other than that, everything else were good.
Everything was perfect except the mashed potatoe comes with the steak, coz with blue cheese🥺
We just love the view! We really enjoy dining here since it has such great ambience and server was really nice as well. But food is just ok. We think the environment made it up.
We had a nice dinner and the view from The Salmon House is always spectacular. We both ordered off the Dine Out Vancouver menu and all 3-Course were spectacular!!!!
I added the lobster tail to my dinner and it was cooked to perfection.
We will return soon soon
We had a wonderful time at the Salmon House. Katie, our server, was excellent. Food was delicious and you couldn't beat the gorgeous views.
Very quiet with excellent service and outstanding views! however, the food quality lacked in some dishes maybe due to low turnover??
While the food tasted good and our out of town guests enjoyed the food, the plate was warmer than the food and our server was forgetful and made errors that took away from the overall experience. While I have eaten here prior and the experience was great, I will look at other options next time.
Great view. Great menu. Nice First Nations decor, although the interior is a bit dated and needs refreshing.
I was happy to bring out of the country guests with me.
I have been coming to Salmon House since the mid 70s.
Things are different, food is not what it used to be and the overall attitude is not
exciting me as it did many years ago.
Unfortunately we had a poor experience. We had a long wait for our meal.
Sadly, the quality of the food has gone down. For a restaurant that prides itself on its seafood, it was quite disappointing to find that the halibut had been overdone. Both my wife and I ordered a halibut dish and both our dishes were overdone. Disappointing - think we'll stick to other restaurants going forward. The only saving grace was our personal relationship with Checo, who provided the live entertainment for the evening and was the main reason that we went to the Salmon House.
