The Salmon House
The Salmon House is world renowned for its fresh seafood and comprehensive BC wine list; accentuated by breath-taking views, warm comfortable surroundings and native art decor.
Excellent options and presentation, food flavours very good. The best seafood and ambience to showcase for international guests. Especially salmon options.
Please increase the local craft beer options
We had a wonderful birthday celebration this evening. Food and service were outstanding.
great spot with the best views in the area along with high quality dishes. Service and ambiance was excellent for our 40th anniversary dinner.
Over the years, we have gone to the Salmon House on special occasions. We love it there!!
Our enters were cold, the chef mixed up the dinners when requesting certain items not be on the plate
The plates were cold. Only one white wine by the glass was on the wine list. The music was too loud
This restaurant is an excellent place to bring friends from out of town. It is a lovely example which showcases West Coast art, decor, and food. It is nestled in the trees and is located just south of the spectacular British Properties. It has a lovely view of Burrard Inlet and Lions Gate Bridge. The food is very West Coast and features many different types of salmon prepared many ways. The Seafood tower, which is very pricey is spectacular and can easily be shared as an entree for two. The service is efficient, prompt and unobtrusive. The Caesar salad with shrimp is terrific. It is a great place for fine dining and to show off beautiful British Columbia!
Very expensive for a meal that was only OK. When you are spending $40-$45 per entrée, you do expect to feel like you just eat something delicious. We definitely did not feel that way. Would not return.
Amazing food and service. Great place for a quiet date night dinner, with a amazing view.
Outstanding food and excellent service.
Always a wonderful evening.
Hitting home runs for decades.
Celebrating with friends for a 40 year and 35 year work anniversary. Lovely table with great views
Excellent food, excellent service. Everyone was very friendly
Looking for a nice dinner during our Vancouver vacation stop-over.
This was just what we were looking for - a nice experience for sure!
Cold inside, I had to go get sweaters from our car. Service was boring. The Salmon of the day was sold out, what we did order then was average and way to little for the price. They had no Appleton’s Rum nor do they make blended drinks. View was good. Everything thing else below average. Don’t see the attraction for this place really. It’s great for rich people on a diet I suppose.
I took my girlfriend to this restaurant to celebrate one of our monthly anniversaries ... The view from the restaurant was breathtaking ... I would give the service a 9 out of 10 ... Food and value was also 9 out of 10 for me.
I would love to see this restaurant offer valet parking.
Unfortunately even a special occasion and many weeks notice will not guarantee a window seat. Still nice views but a bit disappointed nonetheless.
We were a little disappointed with the Salmon House this visit. We were there in September 2018 and found that menu much better. One of our party ordered the sockeye dish and it was so salty - apparently it was like eating anchovies. Unfortunately she didn't want to make a scene and only divulged her disappointment with her dish towards the end of the meal. I had also requested a window seating when I made the booking, but we were allocated a table in the interior of the restaurant, which was disappointing as we had overseas guests. Overall the food was good, but I think a little pricey and felt that the value for money factor had dropped since last year.
Fantastic Restaurant!!!!!! Food was delicious!!!!!!! the service is excelent!!!!!!!
We had an amazing birthday dinner here. Nice view and good service.
Way overpriced. Food quality not great vs the price point.
Don’t pay for buns... prices of the menu should include A a bread basket
The food and service were wonderful. They really made us feel special. The view is gorgeous. The restaurant furniture and decor, while clean, comfortable and otherwise nice, is getting a little dated and could use some investment. Overall, a very delicious, well-presented dinner, with attentive service, and some opportunity for improvement in the ambience.
The Salmon House is a wonderful restaurant with great views, food and service. The restaurant was not busy on the Monday night we had our reservations so it was very quiet for casual and intimate conversations. The service was very attentive and not obtrusive. Our food was excellent.
I've been too salmon house before and always love everything about it. The service is excellent and the Ford is outstanding. It is a bit pricey, but definitely worth it for the special occasion.
We had the seafood tower, again, and it was amazing and delicious, as usual. The seafood was fresh and perfectly prepared - Lobster Thermidor and grilled sockeye salmon on barley; smoked, candied salmon; lox and snow crab claws; bouillabaisse with clams, mussels, large sea scallops, crab claws, salmon, and white fish; shrimp on cucumber, raw oysters; smoked, candied salmon. We wouldn't eat the desserts (brownie with homemade vanilla gelato and chocolate mousse dome cake), again, though - pricey ($12 for the brownie and $14 for the dome cake) and not that spectacular to follow such an amazing entree. We chose a very late time to dine so we could see the Celebration of Lights in English Bay at 10 p.m. The view was fantastic!
Wonderful romantic dinner near the window - great view and good spot to watch English bay fireworks - get table on the far left when looking out for fireworks
We had a family dinner in The Salmon House and welcoming a good friend from Europe. We had an absolutely amazing view, our server was nice, friendly, helpful but not too friendly which was greatly appreciated. Food was great and overall we have had a wonderful time.
The ambiance was wonderful. I have had better food here previously. Bread rolls were cold and the only butter it was served with was salmon butter. The halibut and mahi mahi arrived with the same sauces but the fish was dry and could have used more sauce. They were out of their phyllo cream chase ravioli so we tried the creme brûlée - tasted more like a flan. Because of the food quality I gave it a 3
The meal was delicious and the service was very professional! Would recommend the Salmon House for any special occasion.
Delicious anniversary dinner. Colleen was an outstanding server with just the right amount of attentiveness.
Yes, I would recommend The Salmon House to a friend, mostly because of the ambience (the view!), but also the food.
The food was great. I ordered the Sable fish and would 100% order it again! The service was good as well.
Excellent place for a quiet meal with an incredible view. Service was impeccable. Will go back..
We recommend The Salmon House on the Hill often even though we visit rarely. Since the 1970's, we've made this restaurant a must stop each time we have visited Vancouver so it was lovely being back this week to celebrate our 39th wedding anniversary. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. They managed a retro shrimp cocktail when I requested it. How wonderful. The smoked salmon main ticked all the boxes and the lobster gnocchi was creamy and wonderful. The chocolate orange 'bomb' was a bit of a dud. The wine list was pretty terrible, actually. Too pricey and mostly low-end. They need to add some South American options at least. Thanks for the memories!
Excellent ambience for dinner. Great place to take out of town guests to show off the city.
The server made our night so memorable, especially when we were celebrating my mom's 60th birthday. Really appreciated all the sweet touches in handling the pie that we brought, from the greeter's warm welcome, to the kitchen in heating up the pie. Thanks for the amazing staff in making this place so great.
Overall a perfect evening. Incredible food and atmosphere.
Amazing view. Colleen was a fantastic server and her wine recommendation was great. We were treated as honoured guests and felt valued.
The view was absolutely outstanding, the service very attentive, and I would say the food was fine, but we only had an appie and a soup as we were more there for the view. Certainly a place to go to enjoy a feast for the eyes and to show off our beautiful city to out of towners
Everything was definitely fine except the noise level was such that it was difficult to have a relaxed conversation across a booth table. Otherwise a very pleasant experience
Always a great experience.
