We celebrated an 80th Birthday and loved the ambiance, the food, the service and the scenery.
Umpteenth time we have been there and never been disappointed!
Food was great AND you are paying for the view. Some more vegetarian options would be welcome in this day and age.
Our server, Diane, was excellent! It’s a great place for a special occasion.
The view is spectacular; the food great; the dining hall is very spacious; the service is kind and efficient;
there are several seating arrangements available; and every month there is a special three-course dinner for early arrivals (weekdays only) at a very convenient price.
We had great food, great service and a very nice evening.
Salmon House was great for a group birthday - great view of Downtown/StanleyPark, great sustainably-sourced fresh wild seafood (I highly reccommend the Salmon Trio), great service (we had probably one of the most friendly, upbeat and helpful waitresses I've ever had (management: please give Colleen a bonus).
10/10 would birthday-with-the-family here again.
We have lived in another city for a number of years and recently moved back to West Vancouver and wanted to see if the Salmon House on the hill was still as good as we remembered it to be!
We were not disappointed the crowd was varied but vibrant, The menu had a selection for everyone at the table, the food was exquisite with the fish cooked to perfection flaky and moist, and dinner was promptly served by a charming and gracious waitress. The view from our central window table was stunning with a particularly beautiful and colourful sunset!
We will go back again very soon!
It’s pricey and not doable on a regular basis but a fantastic option for when you want to treat yourself and splurge (ie.special occasions.
We had a wonderful afternoon brunch celebrating two birthdays. Our meals were perfect and very delicious. We had two seafood omelets and two halibut fish and chips. The portions were perfect. The view is spectacular and our service was excellent. The restaurant has it's own ample parking with handicap spaces as well so you never have to look for a place to park.
The Salmon House never disappoints. The food is absolutely world class, and the views spectacular. Awesome for celebrations or date night! Highly recommended.
Love it, great view good food. I take all my visiting guest here. Most say lets go back when they return to Vancouver.
Not very good value - very expensive not a good day for the view
Fantastic service. Amazing view. Wonderful ambience. We dined at 5 PM and a great view. The service was wonderful. They definitely know how to cook fish. I found the sides a bit bland and uninspired but they might be catering to the clientele. This is an iconic restaurant that is a great place to bring your out of town guests or family.
The quality of food is not up to the high standards it used to be. We had 1 of each Seafood Tower for 2. There was not a noteworthy item among them all. The stuffed calamari was chewy and fish. Salmon is their namesake but it was not that flavorful. The view, the ambience, the live music, and our server made the night. Overall, priced too high for the quality of food but we still had a nice night.
I always expect the food to come second to the view, art, and reputation but every time I go I am reminded that the food is the top priority. A must-go for visitors to BC. Local, elegant, and just so Vancouver (well, West Vancouver). Simply sublime.
First time in 40 years that I have been there, my loss. It was a great experience, the food is delicious, the service is fantastic, a great spot for seafood. It is easy to get to from Vancouver before or after rush hour, well worth the 20 minute drive. To busy enjoying the company and the food, didn't take any pictures, there are lots online though.
Lived up to it’s reputation as one of Vancouver’s best seafood restaurants and a great way to show off our city to out of town visitors.
Food ok ...too much salty sauce on fish.
Lacked good green salad
Dessert menu unappealing
Disappointed that we couldn’t get a window table as it was a very special occasion
Great food and fantastic staff. The waitress checked back on us often to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Very attentive service.
Beautiful view, friendly service. We love the delicious food and the comfortable environment.
I brought my Mexican friends here for the food and the view and they were very impressed
Absolutely outstanding view matched only by the creative food. Thank you!
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the Salmon House. Our servers were extremely attentive and friendly. Thanks again to the Salmon House for making this evening a memorable experience.
We went to the Salmon House for my birthday dinner. The view was amazing. The food was spectacular. The drinks were very good. We will be back for sure!
As always, The Salmon House was a huge hit for an extravagant 85th Birthday gathering for my Mum, and my parents' wedding anniversary! 💕💝 Amazing service and delectable meals - the seafood tower was to die for! We look forward to the next event!
Good place for lunch!
Excellent food and service, a little pricey but worth it for the view and a special occasion
Great service, food and place
Excellent service, food and ambiance. This restaurant is a Vancouver milestone that should not be missed.
The food was excellent and the restaurant was very willing to accommodate requests. The view is fantastic. The best part was our server, who really went out of her way to make sure we had a good experience. The food is a bit on the pricey side, but worth it for a special occasion.
Nice atmosphere. And while I didn't care for our server (very fake/awkward approach to fine dining service) the team seemed great overall. Very disappointed that they charge $3.50 for buns that should be free, and appetizers are terribly priced and single servings as well. Seafood towers are not a great value; stick with entrees.
Great food and service by Diane. View was not Smokey and lots of parking. Got busy later in the evening. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Great food in a great place with a great view, offered with great service
Great dinner with family. 3 course dinner was delicious and great value. Too bad the view was obstructed by all of the smoke, as I love going there for the ambience.
Great ambience; great food; wonderful service. The lounge is a wonderful setting for family gatherings.
Family from out of province were most impressed.
The food was amazing with the exception of the Caesar salad which was a bit too heavy on the anchovy and the lettuce was on the slightly wilted side. Everything else fantastic. The servers were amazing and our family really enjoyed this special get together.
Anniversary meal excellent food and overall experience for my parents. Would love it if the $40 menu was available past 6 pm.
It took 2 hours before we were served our main course. We were told that the kitchen had been short a cook for two months. The feel if this restaurant is that it is over the hill. It was once good but now is tired and old. For fine dining go elsewhere.
The service was amazing and the food was fantastic. The manager even arranged a small desert on the house as it was our anniversary. The only downside was it was too smoky to see the gorgeous views.
Colleen was superb and Lilya from previous dining there was efficient and friendly.
