Anniversary meal excellent food and overall experience for my parents. Would love it if the $40 menu was available past 6 pm.

It took 2 hours before we were served our main course. We were told that the kitchen had been short a cook for two months. The feel if this restaurant is that it is over the hill. It was once good but now is tired and old. For fine dining go elsewhere.

The service was amazing and the food was fantastic. The manager even arranged a small desert on the house as it was our anniversary. The only downside was it was too smoky to see the gorgeous views.

Wonderful value for early birds seated before 6. Smoke from forest fires obscuring some of the fabulous view. Food was very good. Appreciated the gluten free substitute for dessert.

I have often visited the Salmon House and have enjoyed my meals.
I had Halibut and fries, which was great, but the ‘coleslaw’? Was a bit limp and the piece of lemon was rather small. The service was good and I would visit again and recommend it to friends. The view is terrific too.

Excellent service and really good food. The place has changed very little since our honey moon, 45 years ago. We will be back.

We are from out of town. We went for my birthday dinner, which, I had included in the reservation. We had the Seafood Tower for 2 for $100. I realized that there would be small portions for the appetizers; however, expected the KING CRAB BOUILLABAISSE to be more than there was, it was a VERY SMALL portion with only 3 small pieces of crab... When it is being shared between 2 people, there should be even amounts of items (2, 4, 6). After our server asked us how the meal was, we never saw him again for a long time. He didn't stop by to ask if we wanted dessert or coffee. We finally found him and asked for our bill. This may have been because we had a late reservation? Our decision is that we will not return or recommend.

The service was excellent, attentive thorough, but not at all intrusive. The food was straightforward but very good, amazing dessert. Recommend for occasions.

Due to haze from distant forest fires, the view for long distances was reduced from what it normally is.

We had a delicious late - light meal the other night, it was a nice sunny evening and such a beautiful view from The Salmon House. We started with the freshly baked bread hot and delicious then I had the seafood chowder it was full of good size chunks of seafood. We shares a few scallops and a couple of Caesar salads and ended with the walnut tart all delicious, {I highly recommend the tart}… thank you for a great night.

After many years we returned to Vancouver and of course came back to Salmon House.
Thank you for a memorable evening - elegant, friendly, great view.
Will recommend to out of town friends. Like the formality

Enjoyed our brunch in the lovely air conditioned Salmon House on a hot July day. Great view as always. Food was very good although did have to ask for the bacon to be cooked a bit more as wasn’t crispy as ordered. We were surprised that there was so little salon on the brunch menu. Do recommend it for a special brunch.

We went for a “date night” and to watch the Celebration of Light fireworks. Although we couldn’t get a window seat, we could still see the fireworks. The staff, service, food, and ambience made it one of the best date nights we’ve had, and after 22 years of marriage, that’s saying something! :)

We try to get here at least twice a year. We’ve been coming over 45 years. This occasion was for our 49th wedding Anniversary. Try and bring guests from out of town. The last time we brought a couple from India.
Always a wonderful experience.
Cheers !

The food was excellent the decor was traditionally West Coast British Columbia. I was disappointed in that The View was very obscured by trees in front. Our main reason for going was to have an outstanding view during our meal and that was disappointing. I had been there once before a few years ago and the view was spectacular, not now.

Great food and presentation, excellent service. However, we were a little shocked at the prices. Last time we were there was a few years ago so we didn’t expect it would be so expensive. Overall we had an enjoyable evening

Our food took a very long time, was cold when it arrived. The potatoes seemed to have sat in a greasy pan for too long. I was very much looking forward to the brunch and was disappointed. The server rushed us as well

I would like to review the lunch on Sunday. The service was fine, the food was okay, the view is spectacular. The pasta and the omelettes were fine, the French Toast was cakey. Think we could have used some rolls or real toast. Without the view, this breakfast for four could have been more like half the price. Maybe thats why it was maybe 25% full.

We had the seafood tower which was excellent, but expensive. Our friends had the halibut special and the fish soup both were very good. Service was friendly and timely. All and all a very good experience.

It's such a stunning location, with a beautiful view. Sadly, they aren't set up to sit outside and take advantage of the view. There are tables by the closed windows, but the air conditioning is often a little chilly. The food was good, but could use a little updating to include more options that are lighter and fresher. It feels the place needs a refresh.

The decor was a bit old-fashioned, but the food was wonderful and the views were superb! Our reservation was rather late, so the server wasn't super attentive (it seemed like they were more interested in doing sidework so they could leave) but the server was very nice and answered all of my menu questions.

Everything was good and what you would expect for the price. Our server was extremely professional (we have had him on a previous visit).
The one negative issue was that there was a DJ playing in an adjacent room and the excess sound level really destroyed the ambience. Having a quite conversation was difficult at times.
Also, for a medium to high class restaurant, it appears that they have totally given up on a dress code. Shorts, flip flops, t-shirts and baseball caps were very evident. Just being in a suite and tie made me feel over-dressed.

Restaurant is outdated and needs a face lift, meal was amazing, server was very friendly but disappeared for awhile. Our mail meals took exceptionally long to come out, almost an hour after our starters. Kind of worked for us as we were in a business event. Didn't like the fact were at the door to deck area and kids kept running in and out bumping our chairs. But the food was amazing and that's why you go to Salmon House on the Hill.

Was last at The Salmon House 8 years ago on a visit to Vancouver - 8 years later the standards have not changed or fallen just as outstanding in every respect - a must if you are in Vancouver.
