The Salmon House
The Salmon House is world renowned for its fresh seafood and comprehensive BC wine list; accentuated by breath-taking views, warm comfortable surroundings and native art decor.
It has been a long time since I have enjoyed going to a restaurant because of my hearing problem. At Salmon House I could chat with my friend and did not have to yell. The server was wonderful young lady, she understood my food problems, I got exactly what I had asked for. I will come more often.
Greeted with an engaging smile and escorted to our requested window seat. Service was attentive and well balanced so we never felt neglected but had someone whenever we would need them. Food was very nicely presented and good. Fish might have been a tad over-cooked but everything else was very nicely done.
Thank you for a wonderful evening where we could enjoy absolutely breathtaking views of one of the greatest cities on earth.
Great food & service! Breath taking view!
The view is magnificent and you get it from any table. The booths that are about 3 rows in are very posh and fun and still have the view. The service was impeccable but not at all pretentious. The food was generally excellent. Best cosmo martinis and affogato (dessert) ever.
Everyone enjoyed their meals very much. Quite pricey so come for a special event as it is a beautiful way to celebrate and make someone feel special. Choices are great, good variety.
I would return to this restaurant if I was entertaining out of town guests. I would definitely prefer a window seat to enjoy the spectacular view and watch the sun set. Try to pick good weather to fully enjoy the view.
The four of us ordered two towers @ $100 per tower. The food was ok but not outstanding. The portions could have been more generous. If I go again, I would order from the menu and hope the food tastes better and the portions are more generous.
The ambiance is very nice. The service was excellent. The wine was $60 a bottle and sells for no more than $20 at LCB - however, this seems to be fairly standard.
I had guests from over seas and they enjoyed it very much. Thank you for the excellent service and quality of the food.
Snow at parking area was not cleaned at all and one of the ladies almost felt.
Other than that everything was perfect.
Mothers 66 bday
The Sablefish was amazing. The salmon could have been a little more moist. Overall the view and the food was great. I would go back.
We were celebrating our son's 38th birthday for brunch on Sunday March 3. We were a large party of 10 adults and 4 children aged 7 months to 6 years.
Our waiter was absolutely amazing; attentive, personable and was great with our "strange" requests.
The food was delicious.
We couldn't have had a better experience.
Thank you. We will be back.
Wonderful food, excellent service, extraordinary view
Service very poor.
Our very early dinner for 12 older diners began at 5:30 in this iconic restaurant with its priceless view. By the time we finished 3 hours later there were a number of full tables near us but the ambient sound remained unusually low. Background music at very low volume, thank god. Service was attentive and very well informed. Broad variety of selections and a waiter expertly helping to organize tastings for this large group. The food was excellent (I save 5 stars for French Laundry or Alinea). This restaurant has been in business for decades and could easily survive with mediocre food and its amazing view, but the kitchen is strong and creative and the service top notch. The ambience at this long established restaurant was always unequalled, and it has been well maintained. If you have not been here in years, you will be pleasantly surprised by a return visit.
We lined-up the time of our dinner with the sunset, a person couldn't ask for a better view of the Pacific Ocean and the City of Vancouver. Watching the sun go down and the lights of the City turn on, all while enjoying a great meal combined with excellent service was simply amazing. Enjoyed every bit of our meal and the only complaint we have is to serve the butter and salmon spread soft so we could spread it and enjoy more of the flavour (oh yeah and garlic butter with the lobster). Service was awesome. My highlight was dessert (it always is) I had this wonderful creation called an AFFOGATO. Look it up on their menu, very yummy! Highly recommended!!!
Didn't seem to be a lot of salmon at brunch, no salmon eggs benny, no salmon hash, nothing. That was disapointing.
Definitely worth the drive. The view is spectacular and the food very impressive. A great value for a romantic night or a family get together.
Great view. Great food.
Great service and knowledgeable staff
the taste of the tea we ordered was not good
we came to the Sunday brunch for their hot fresh baked croissants, but they served us cold croissants
A timeless classic with unique West Coast architecture and stunning views.
It’s a one-of-a-kind place on the north shore
They don’t get any better than this
This was the best experience we’ve had dining as a family with our young kids. The staff were exceptionally accommodating and the food was fantastic. I can’t speak highly enough about our server and the overall experience. Thank you
My birthday dinner with my wife, daughter and 93 year-old mother was fantastic, the food was superb, the service excellent and the tranquility with the beautiful view of Stanley Park, Burrard Inlet and Coal Harbor unforgettable. Salmon House on the Hill is by far my favorite restaurant in Vancouver.
Had a great time at the Salmon House - food was great, service was good, view was amazing. Ambiance was excellent - loved the live music and dancing in the bar after dinner. The only thing that distracted from a perfect night was a couple of children running through the restaurant all through dinner and desert - found this very distracting and it took away from the overall experience.
Great service and food. Valentine’s Day was great except the table beside us were too close the men spoke very loud and no stop it wasn’t making the evening very romantic. Not sure if staff could do anything about this
Once again the Salmon House provided excellent food with friendly and professional service. I notice an improvement in recent months which is an achievement for a fine restaurant which has a long tradition of excellence on the North Shore.
Great food, great service. Best view.
Always same menu. We are bored with it. Hope they would have special menu every month.
Very nice atmosphere inside, lots of beautiful art work to look at. Servers were very friendly and continuously coming to our table to ensure everything was good. The view from our table over the city sky line is absolutely amazing. I would recommend it to anyone that visits Vancouver.
Place is nice and has great view. Food is delicious. Good environment for friends and family.
Stunning views, great service and tasty food. Brunch is my favourite to celebrate with family and friends
I have always liked this establishment. Excellent place to bring visitors to the city as it has one of the best views daytime or evenings. Will continue to return again and again!
Very good and romantic dining place, perfect for couple dating. The restaurant is designed to let you enjoy the breathtaking view from all angles of the restaurant.
The portion was sampler size, no value. The seafood fettuccini had 2 small prawns, 2 clams, 2 small mussels, a few pieces of salmon, and a small bowl of pasta. The dessert was bland tasting and small. Not impressed. The service was good and wonderful view.
Service was slow. Inattentive...
Premium price demands premium service .
Price was expensive due we what had and the service we had but that said the quality was good.
Lobster gnocchi was fantastic! Service was excellent!
Been eating here for almost 30 years. The room is in great shape, best view in the city. Food was fantastic, service was great. Got the last sablefish and it was to die for.
The food, service, view and time we had with friends was all fantastic.
Me and my wife went there for her birthday, we both ordered from the dine out manu, the food is ok but the services is poor especially our main waiter only come to our table 3 times, one for given us the manu, second for the ordering the third time for billing and never seen him smile. Not a good dinning expernice for us.
Really enjoyed our meal. The view was fantastic. Service was great.
