Fabulous view, fabulous food- made for a memorable evening !
Eating at the Salmon House during covid is very safe. The space is huge, the tables very far apart. The staff are very conscientious about wearing masks and sanitizing. And the food and service are always fantastic. This time we had the best halibut we have ever eaten.
Smoked salmon and rocket salad appetizer is amazing. Tofino Coho Salmon special was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Served with fingerling potatoes and loads of mixed veggies cooked to perfection.
The rack of lamb was good—but not as good as in 2020. New recipe with black olives and feta not as appealing. And perhaps lamb is from a different supplier?
Wonderful salmon dinner! Highly recommended for food, view and service. Always a family favourite in our house.
Its so really nice place ... i like it very much... amazing ambience..😊
& the food too fantastic...
Great food; beautiful setting as always; We made a special trip to the Salmon House & it was well worth it.
Everything about out experience was amazing. The food was so good! We can’t wait to go back
The level of dining just isn’t where it used to be. If Blue Water is a 10, this is a 6. Price is comparable so would expect a similar level of cuisine.
The fresh chinook salmon was the best salmon meal we have had in a restaurant...truly memorable....better than past salmon meals at your restaurant - and the past meals were excellent. The soup (vegetable- tomato- salmon) not so well received. The smoled salmon butter wsa too "fishy" for our taste. The Creme Brule rosemary ...excellent. The frozen yogurt - jam- month -blackberry tasty in the first bite but too overwhelming in flavour and sweetness. We love the salmon house, enjoy the food ,ambience, view as well as family wedding memories there! We will see you sooner than later.
We almost always have a fantastic meal at the Salmon House. It's our go-to place for special occasions when we want a memorable evening. The salmon was excellent like always.
The service was attentive, but not obtrusive. The food was very well presented and delicious. There were ample choices on the menu, for every taste. The view is stunning, and the décor was nicely presented West Coast native. Overall a wonderful experience. Will continue to return to this restaurant for future occasions.
Note though, this is a fine dining restaurant - it is not an inexpensive dining experience, but it is certainly worth the time and cost, especially for special occasions.
Excellent Dining experience. Great table. Jessica treated us so well and made us feel special. Overall a perfect evening. Thanks!
We asked for a window seat and we didn’t get that. One person at our table had to ask for a beer three times before he got it. Food was good not overly though.
We went on Mar 4, 2021 and it was the first day they had been open in a couple months due to lockdowns from covid and it was excellent. We had the whole bar area to ourselves for distancing with great views. Food was incredible, service amazing. Only negative was that prices have shot up but we supposed that is to be expected with lockdowns hitting their bottom line. Strongly recommend, as always.
This is one of our favourite restaurants, unfortunately News Years was expensive and unimpressive really disappointing.
We were very disappointed with the food, having eaten there happily in the past. This time it was a very ordinary meal.
For New Years Eve the service was not up to standard. Initially people who came after us were getting attention and their food before us. They forgot one course and had to take back a course and then make the course they missed again.
The two cocktails that I chose were really bland, although my husband enjoyed his.
The staff were indifferent - after all it was New Years Eve. Not particularly friendly or efficient. We were there early in the evening and it wasn’t particularly busy.
I’m sorry for this mediocre review but I really feel the feedback is necessary in the circumstances.
It was a very expensive set menu and unfortunately, not worth it.
Classic west coast 1st class experience.
No question.
A beautiful restaurant. The evening was crisp and clear so the view was amazing.
We enjoyed excellent service and the food was amazing. We decided to indulge in dessert as well and the Black Forest Bomb was out of this world. A lovely evening and I'm sure we'll be back.
This was a birthday gift to my son. His feedback was that he and his friend
had a wonderful dinner at a quiet table. Sounds romantic.
Thank you for allowing him that experience.

Restuarant very clean. Good prices and portions are a good size
So beautiful and uniquely west coast. Definitely recommend.
Was very enjoyable. The Caesar salad was a little boring. I had the sablefish in broth which was very tasty. My friend had the salmon trio. He thought it was very nice, if not outstanding. The black forest deconstructed cake was a little weird but fun. I would call it a chocolate mousse rather than a cake. Server was cheerful and reasonably attentive. This is a nice place to take out of town guests as the view is spectacular!
Very high quality food but expensive
The place and view are great as is the service. However the food is just average while price is expensive. Halibut didn’t taste great and was a bit dry, so was the salmon. The risotto was also not great.
If u order a pop they bring out a small glass and charge u for very pop u drink. U would think that a restaurant with these prices would not be stingy on charging for pop refills.
Not certain I would go again based on quality Vs price.
Beautiful decor, ambiance and view. Everything was cooked to perfection and service was there when you needed it, but quiet when you didn't
Very disappointed. Took my husband for the first time for our anniversary. We were both very disappointed, we stopped to eat on the way home, we've had better seafood from T&T supermarket. King crab looked like snow crab size and was water logged, horrible. Portions were small, quality did not make up for it.
Great ambience and wonderful city view. Good gourmet food. They don't have all the items on the menu though, so be prepared to order something different. All food is very good though. Great professional service.
Amazing food and service. Outstanding first experience. Great spot for a date night (Plus a beautiful view)
Thank you very much Sheron for the heartwarming review and recommendation. You inspire us more. Can't thank you enough. It is our honor and pleasure to have guests like you. Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Not wow unfortunately and definitely not smart casual dressed people.
Couldn't even enjoy the view because the windows would reflect the inside lights. Ambiance lacks the wow factor. Too bad, the location is awesome.
The ambiance was quite nice. But the food was mediocre. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t amazing. And for the price it was robbery. If you want amazing seafood, go find an old seafood shack on the shore. If you want to be robbed for merely acceptable food, go to the Salmon House. They charged me $70 for a very simple lobster pasta dish. And we found out their sparkling water was $8.50 per bottle! We will never be going back. The cost to benefit ratio was outrageous.
Always love this place. Unfortunately had to cancel in January due to heavy snow fall, then Covid19 hit! We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience, and even were treated to a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate our missed visit(s). Food and service was exceptional, and we’ll be back soon!
Amazing view, food was delicious. No complaints!! Food was coming out super quick and was amazing.
A real shame, we have always enjoyed this restaurant but the sable fish entree was rather disappointing on Saturday.
Do not go for a special occasion!
Every bit of the experience was amazing, incredible food, lovely ambiance. The one thing is I would never go there for a special occasion, they do not do anything for birthdays and do not go out of their way to make the guest feel special. A small gesture such as a piece of desert or a candle would have made this experience that much better and more special.
Fantastic as always
Great food in a great setting with excellent service. The view is also great.
A wonderful dinner. Everything perfectly prepared.
A very pleasant meal with my neice and her two sons as everybody enjoyed their food and were agog at the beautiful sunset view over the ocean.
I celebrated my 60th birthday here on a recommendation from a hairstylist from the area. The atmosphere is nice we found the appetizer menu didn’t offer much asked for shrimp they were not offered on the menu they gave us shrimp cocktail upon request. The seafood platter was great. They knew I was celebrating my 60th never offered a desert I feel it’s important for a restaurant to at least offer just a FYI for future special occasions it’s a nice touch.
Each visit is a special occasion, and each visit (sometimes years apart) impressed us. Service was attentive with great menu suggestions, great selection of wines well paired with special menu items.
