This is one of our favourite restaurants, unfortunately News Years was expensive and unimpressive really disappointing.
We were very disappointed with the food, having eaten there happily in the past. This time it was a very ordinary meal.
For New Years Eve the service was not up to standard. Initially people who came after us were getting attention and their food before us. They forgot one course and had to take back a course and then make the course they missed again.
The two cocktails that I chose were really bland, although my husband enjoyed his.
The staff were indifferent - after all it was New Years Eve. Not particularly friendly or efficient. We were there early in the evening and it wasn’t particularly busy.
I’m sorry for this mediocre review but I really feel the feedback is necessary in the circumstances.
It was a very expensive set menu and unfortunately, not worth it.
Classic west coast 1st class experience.
No question.
A beautiful restaurant. The evening was crisp and clear so the view was amazing.
We enjoyed excellent service and the food was amazing. We decided to indulge in dessert as well and the Black Forest Bomb was out of this world. A lovely evening and I'm sure we'll be back.
This was a birthday gift to my son. His feedback was that he and his friend
had a wonderful dinner at a quiet table. Sounds romantic.
Thank you for allowing him that experience.

Restuarant very clean. Good prices and portions are a good size
So beautiful and uniquely west coast. Definitely recommend.
Was very enjoyable. The Caesar salad was a little boring. I had the sablefish in broth which was very tasty. My friend had the salmon trio. He thought it was very nice, if not outstanding. The black forest deconstructed cake was a little weird but fun. I would call it a chocolate mousse rather than a cake. Server was cheerful and reasonably attentive. This is a nice place to take out of town guests as the view is spectacular!
Very high quality food but expensive
The place and view are great as is the service. However the food is just average while price is expensive. Halibut didn’t taste great and was a bit dry, so was the salmon. The risotto was also not great.
If u order a pop they bring out a small glass and charge u for very pop u drink. U would think that a restaurant with these prices would not be stingy on charging for pop refills.
Not certain I would go again based on quality Vs price.
Beautiful decor, ambiance and view. Everything was cooked to perfection and service was there when you needed it, but quiet when you didn't
Very disappointed. Took my husband for the first time for our anniversary. We were both very disappointed, we stopped to eat on the way home, we've had better seafood from T&T supermarket. King crab looked like snow crab size and was water logged, horrible. Portions were small, quality did not make up for it.
Great ambience and wonderful city view. Good gourmet food. They don't have all the items on the menu though, so be prepared to order something different. All food is very good though. Great professional service.
Amazing food and service. Outstanding first experience. Great spot for a date night (Plus a beautiful view)
Thank you very much Sheron for the heartwarming review and recommendation. You inspire us more. Can't thank you enough. It is our honor and pleasure to have guests like you. Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Not wow unfortunately and definitely not smart casual dressed people.
Couldn't even enjoy the view because the windows would reflect the inside lights. Ambiance lacks the wow factor. Too bad, the location is awesome.
The ambiance was quite nice. But the food was mediocre. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t amazing. And for the price it was robbery. If you want amazing seafood, go find an old seafood shack on the shore. If you want to be robbed for merely acceptable food, go to the Salmon House. They charged me $70 for a very simple lobster pasta dish. And we found out their sparkling water was $8.50 per bottle! We will never be going back. The cost to benefit ratio was outrageous.
Always love this place. Unfortunately had to cancel in January due to heavy snow fall, then Covid19 hit! We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience, and even were treated to a complimentary glass of champagne to celebrate our missed visit(s). Food and service was exceptional, and we’ll be back soon!
Amazing view, food was delicious. No complaints!! Food was coming out super quick and was amazing.
A real shame, we have always enjoyed this restaurant but the sable fish entree was rather disappointing on Saturday.
Do not go for a special occasion!
Every bit of the experience was amazing, incredible food, lovely ambiance. The one thing is I would never go there for a special occasion, they do not do anything for birthdays and do not go out of their way to make the guest feel special. A small gesture such as a piece of desert or a candle would have made this experience that much better and more special.
Fantastic as always
Great food in a great setting with excellent service. The view is also great.
A wonderful dinner. Everything perfectly prepared.
A very pleasant meal with my neice and her two sons as everybody enjoyed their food and were agog at the beautiful sunset view over the ocean.
I celebrated my 60th birthday here on a recommendation from a hairstylist from the area. The atmosphere is nice we found the appetizer menu didn’t offer much asked for shrimp they were not offered on the menu they gave us shrimp cocktail upon request. The seafood platter was great. They knew I was celebrating my 60th never offered a desert I feel it’s important for a restaurant to at least offer just a FYI for future special occasions it’s a nice touch.
Each visit is a special occasion, and each visit (sometimes years apart) impressed us. Service was attentive with great menu suggestions, great selection of wines well paired with special menu items.
Great experience there, food quality is good, just presentation is bit of old school. Really recommend Sable fish and cheesecake rivalio.
Excellent Food and accommodating for changes on menu
Menu selections/options are great. Food was excellent!! Attentive service.
Nice ambience, great views. Definitely will return.
Great view with a corner table by the window and some of the food was great--particularly the lobster and prawns from the seafood tower, as well as the shrimp and spinach risotto. Unfortunately, the salmon from all of our dishes was overcooked. Server was hard to track down. In terms of COVID accommodations, hand sanitizer was available at the front door and tables/groups were adequately spread out, but servers and host were only in face shields with no masks. Also, if you're coming for the October promotions, note that they are not honouring the one free drink per entree promotion. Instead, they insisted that we could have one free drink for our table. In the end, for our table of four adults and two children, we got two free drinks, but paid for two drinks and a kid's meal.
The seafood tower is must have when out on a special date. An amazing sampling of some of the best flavours on the menu.
Service was good and very enjoyable. Salmon was overcooked on all the dishes we ordered and pretty much every dish we ordered was salmon. It was still tasty but would have been better if not overcooked especially since that is supposed to be their signature. We come every year at least once for special occasions and was better before so may be just an off day.
Food was good as always but poor safety measures for covid 19. The staff only wore shield not masks.
We really enjoyed our anniversary dinner at the Salmon House. The view was lovely and the food was excellent. Service was fabulous. We will bring our out of town/country visitors to the Salmon House. Thanks so much. ❤️
Being a patron for 46 years seemed so quiet with covid no flowers or tablecloths. We had the Seafood Tower and had it delivered in 3 stages. The seafood was skimpy only one oyster each, only a few mussels and clams. I found the seafood boulabaise too coconut tasting for me. The last delivery was the lobster which was delicious. Our waiter did her best. She didn't ask if we wanted desert so never go a little Birthday cake for my husband. Oh well went home had Ernest Ice Cream.
Lovely food, cooked perfectly
Delicious food and fantastic service!
Surprised by how delicious all the food was. The food presentation was pretty disappointing for $50 a plate. They just kinda pile it on with no thought or creativity. But it was well cooked and tasty so we were happy. The view is amazing and service was good. Decent wine list. Good choice for a special occasion.
It was nice
Excellent views , Fantastic Food, Great Staff ! You need to eat here.
