Friday & Saturday
Oysters and halibut was good. My steak was hard and chewy. Service was not good for a 700$ dinner. I read other reviews and they are right about racism. If your not caucasian you will be ignored. I had to keep asking for drinks, our waitress never asked if the food was good or not. However the busboy who was non caucasian was really nice and professional. In other words you can get much better quality food and service anywhere else for half the price. Never going back again!!
We were there for New Year’s Eve and could not have picked a better place for dinner that night. Service was great, great special menu in addition to the regular menu. Meal was slow paced and relaxed and never felt rushed and food would great. Highly recommend for a special occasion or higher end pre show meal.
This is a gem in downtown Toronto; we’re staying at the Ritz Carleton for a short staycation and discovered this place right next door.
We went at a time when the Omicron variant of COVID-19 was raging, and most people shied away from restaurants. It offered us a quiet & elegant atmosphere, attentive service, excellent ambience, good food & drink, and, I think, great value. We will surely come back when things become more normal again!
Monty our server was the BEST server we have ever had. We have been fortunate enough to eat an numerous restaurants in Toronto with amazing chefs, cooks and servers and hats off to Monty. He was by far the most personable and pleasant and attentive server and just over all extremely lovely. The food was decadent, so scrumptious. Their lobster bisque is an absolute must. Their salmon was fabulous and their unbelievably fresh, made in-house sorbet transports you to tropical islands. The shrimp and scallops are also amazing.
Avoid the ceaser salad. Very dull amongst an incredible menu. The NY sirloin was perfect. Brussels were great too. Lou was a gentlemen, highly recommend.
Unfortunately one our Filet steaks was over-cooked. We ordered The filet Medium and it came well done. Service was excellent. And they did take full responsibility and comped that meal.
Overall.. Very Good
As always, the servers were great. The host was a snob. Not the first time - every time I have gone there, the hosts are just plain rude and not friendly.
Six of us went for a holiday dinner and the service was 5* fantastic. The food and ambiance was great. Easy parking, overall a fantastic evening.
Came for happy hour which is good value. Had lots of oysters and shrimp. Service was very lacking. Our night wasn’t ruined as I had good company, nice ambience, drinks and seafood. And the server wasn’t rude just wasn’t attentive and made mistakes and never realized. I would recommend it to a friend for a cozy night and good value but would mention that our service was poor so hopefully they’d get someone else or go on a different night from us. Potential for a perfect night if there was better service, I unfortunately would ask to be seated elsewhere if I came again and was in their section, though obviously I wouldn’t say it was because of the server.
Seafood was amazing however the steak we had was sub-par. Expected a lot more flavour, the steak lacked seasoning, was tasteless. It is unfortunate given the cost that you pay for it.
Our first time at the Shore Club was for dinner for two on a Saturday. Check-in was smooth, organized and we were shown to our table right away. We were greeted by our waiter, Sean, who immediately went to work at making us feel welcome and set the tone for what would be truly impeccable service. Our cocktails were expertly made and delicious. Sean would later explain the process for making the perfect martini which was clearly followed here. We enjoyed our drinks and appetizers at our own pace at no point ever feeling rushed. Our mains, the 8 and 12oz. filets, were only brought to the table once we were finished and on plates that were hot to the touch - a small but notable detail. Sean offered his expertise by helping us with the perfect wine pairing for our mains. The steaks were cooked to perfection, incredibly tender and flavorful. We enhanced our filets with a pad of truffle butter - a decadent and highly recommended addition. For sides, we chose the shoestring fries made with brined potatoes and mushrooms - both outstanding. For dessert, we opted for a very generous wedge of coconut cream pie (also Sean's recommendation) made with real whipped cream. Sean would check on us periodically and made sure we were well looked after from beginning to end. Our first experience at the Shore Club was truly memorable and one we're looking forward to repeating. A huge thank you to Sean for your faultless service and making us feel so special.
The chilled seafood tower was the best in Toronto, but the steak was less than average.
Jacob was absolutely amazing. He made our whole experience. He was attentive and honest. He made sure our time at SC was one to remember. We devoured all his recommendations including the single tier seafood tower - everything was so fresh and complimentary. We then had the bigeye tuna and the scallops and all I can say is WOW. Fresh. Tender. Full of flavour. We didn't like the cheesecake as it was a bit dense but that didn't stop us from making another reservation. We'll see you soon Shore Club and Jacob!!!
We returned to specifically try the Chilled Seafood Platter and WOW. Amazingly fresh seafood. Everything was perfect. The service, the decor, the ambiance and definitely the food. My friend and I are fine dining enthusiasts and will be back again to try something else.
First time we’ve tried The Shore Club - it was excellent in all respects but it was ‘value’ that stood out as outstanding! Great food, classy venue and vibe.
The staff were great and server (Jacob) was personable and professional and added to the experience.
For a downtown location, parking was a breeze - indoor and elevator takes you to an entrance for the restaurant without stepping outside.
Our server was extremely nice and very helpful. All the food was really good except for the oysters. The oysters tasted like they were spoiled and had gone bad. Besides that we had a very good experience. We just hope that the oysters are better next time.
Everything was great! Oysters & Prawns in the bar area & then dinner in a well spaced booth .
We were so happy to be back at the Shore Club . Excellent, friendly service
Our server was a delight. Food was above expectations and they were great at being conscious of our entertainment plans and timelines.
Went there to celebrate a birthday. The food was excellent and our server Lou was outstanding. Will visit again.
Outstanding as usual!
Very expensive for the quality of food. Not at all a gourmet experience. Very disappointed in the food quality.
This restaurant is tremendously overrated and overpriced for what it is. Although the ambiance and service were nice, the food was simply adequate at best—and this from a restaurant where a meal for two runs north of $200. The fish was dry and bland. The rest of the food was greasy and very over salted. I was left feeling like I should’ve gotten fast food instead. Save your money and go elsewhere.
I got to my reservation first and had no issues with the host checking my vaccine passport. When my company got to the host, they would not accept his Manitoba vaccination card and told him it was not valid, because it did not show a date of receiving a second dose of the vaccine.
They would not accept a government issued vaccination card and called different levels of management just to eventually let him in and the host didn’t even bother to show him where our table was, so he had to walk around looking for me. Our server was great, but the asparagus was over cooked and the lobster bisque had 2 pieces of lobster in it. Overall this was the most disappointing restaurant experience and we will not be back, let alone recommend to anyone.
We had a wonderful dinner on Friday. Our waiter Monty was the best. He made us feel special from the moment we walked in. We were looked after beautifully the whole evening. Thank you for making my husbands birthday a real celebration!
Great food, excellent service! We will definitely go back!
Exceptional service and outstanding cuisine
Very costly for the price of food and unfortunately the food did not taste good at all. The portions were small.
However, the restaurant is very beautiful, very romantic setting.
Let me start by the location. Well situated with plenty of room and atmosphere. Service was superb, our server was friendly, knowledgeable and quick to respond to any request. Food was delicious and well timed. A place to keep.
Our waiter Shaun was wonderful, considerate and accommodating to our time restrictions. We had a lovely
quiet table and Joanna at the entrance was warm and welcoming. The food was delicious.
Amanda made our evening so enjoyable! She’s a fantastic waitress and was very attentive.
One of our best nights out thanks to her.
Susan and Fouad
Very good and tasty food.
However, the portions could be bigger; for the price.
A great dining experience from the mains to the sides. Very attentive service.
The food ordered was very nice. But no attractive add-ons. Everything à la carte.
Steak arrives unadorned but nicely cooked and high quality. No sign of any leafy green anywhere, although simple beet salad had nicely prepared beet and chèvre ingredients. (Walnuts not in evidence.)
Shrimp delicious and Mac and cheese with lobster is recommended. Excellent dense New York style cheesecake!
Fine service from friendly waiter and greet staff and very comfortable lounge chairs and bench—nicely spaced. Pleasant surroundings.
Pricey but very nice for a night out before symphony.
We had a great meal. The food was spectacular and the waiter, Jacop, was amazing.
We will be back soon.
This was our fourth time at the Shore club. The ambiance and service was as always above and beyond…..however, this time the food was below their normal excellence. This was a shame, but the effects of Covid were noticed. The food took nearly 50 mins to arrive, then was sent back! The fish was good, but served on a still frozen Crockett, the peas were served whole and not smashed…also the steak was very under cooked. The servers and management were embarrassed and did there very best to correct the failure of the kitchen. I am sure these issues will be resolved as we all get back to normal.
Amazing dining experience. Food was delicious. But most notable was the cocktail menu. I was so excited that the person behind the Peaky Blinder cocktail was at our table when we ordered. It was showy, fun and super tasty. Clearly well put together and it was so fun to have her explain it to us! There was a ton that went into it. I was originally thinking of going to another bar for Cocktails but we ditched those plans and drank here.
Wow, thank you for sharing such an amazing experience! Joanna (aka The Peaky Blinder Lady) and her bar team curated a fun and enjoyable cocktail list for our guests to enjoy. We're glad to hear you've enjoyed your time with us!
Great food, big portions. Enjoyed the meal. Would highly recommend.
Hi Travis, We couldn't be happier to have you, thanks for a great evening!
it's been 3 years (darn you, COVID) but once again we pretty much closed the place - too much great wine, good food, great ambiance and good company.
Hi Pamela, its been a long time coming! We're happy to have you back with us.
Amazing experience. Looking forward to coming back.
Hi Barbara, We're glad to hear it, thank you!
