Went on a Tuesday night, restaurant was almost empty. Food was ok, not fabulous. Service was good, entertainment was ok, but not fabulous. For the money, could have done better elsewhere.
Lovely Moroccan appetizers and chicken tajine (hot casserole). Wonderful service, especially as we were going to the theatre afterwards and traffice made us late for our reservation.
They overcharged us and wouldn’t give us an explanation why
We have entertained friends and family at Sultan’s Tent on many occasions and really enjoy our night. Not sure if management has changed but our experience was nothing like the past! Seating was very open, not intimate! In the past the lights were low and each seating area you thought you were in a private tent! Service was very slow, even when we commented the waiter laughed. Dancers were very good and encouraged us to dance! That was certainly the best part of the night.
I last visited over 10 years ago, loved it then, and it hasn't changed to this day!! Excellent service, food, entertainment, ambiance, loved it all!
We celebrated our wedding anniversary. Food was just okay but service was amazing. If you go there for ambiance and belly dancing show then you will enjoy a lot. Our server was very really great.
Overall, not extremely happy with my experience here. Within 30 seconds of being seated, the waiter came up and asked if we were ready to order and when we said we needed a few minutes, he told us to please hurry because there is a time limit and they need to be able to accommodate more people. Already not starting off on a great foot. For my entree, I ordered the Samak Freekha (cod) and was unpleasantly surprised when it was brought to the table and it was covered in a cilantro paste. I understand this is just my personal preference, but I would have greatly appreciated if it had been indicated on the menu that there was cilantro in this dish, because I have an extreme aversion to cilantro and would've ordered something else. I took one bite and was unable to eat anymore of it.
The belly dancing show was very fun and definitely added to the experience, the appetizers and desserts were delicious, and my boyfriend enjoyed his braised short rib entree.
Would recommend this restaurant mostly for the environment and ambiance. It was a nice experience, but I personally would not come here again.
Great experience. Only criticism is that we were told that we need to be done at a certain time as the next group of guests would be coming through. Our cheque was presented to us without us asking and when we left there were many tables available.
Definitely loved the Ambience and Staff. They were friendly attentive and sweet. None of us have been there before but will be back with other friends. Food was Good and suggestions made by our waiter were spot on Thanks Chris. see you next time.
What a great experience. Everyone was super friendly if a little disorganized. The food was so good and the dancers were amazing. We even got up and a learned a move or 2..
Great food and entertainment. Waiter dealt with an issue expertly. Highly recommend this restaurant
Amazing all around
What a wonderful experience, amazing service from beginning to end. The staff is very friendly and always ready I to help. Then performances are stunning. Definitely recommending this venue to everyone.
I really love the ambiance of this place- it's as if you're somewhere else when you first walk in, very cozy feels. The service was great, food was delicious, and the performances were definitely something you wouldn't normally see- which was amazing! We brought our parents here for their anniversary and they loved it! Really worth it if you want to find a place with some entertainment, yummy food and exotic atmosphere. Would highly recommend it if you want to do it up for a special occasion, a treat-yourself, or a nice romantic night out.
All the staff are super friendly and helpful. The experience makes me feel like I spent a night at Morocco.
Took my mom here for a late lunch. We booked the last slot before the restaurant closed so we were the only ones there. At least 3 groups walked in and asked if they were open, which I take as a good sign.
Our waiter, Mahmoud, was excellent. He was warm, gracious and gave us prompt service without smothering us. We were not that familiar with Morroccan food and he explained the menu to us really well. His recommendations were spot on!
We had the harisa soup to start, the croquant for our main, fries on the side, and crême brulée for dessert. The flavour all around was incredible! The harisa soup had lots of spices, the seafood in the croquant was cooked really well, and the crême brulée was the right thickness (not too thick or too runny) and tasty. The fries were seasoned and came with a delicious, smoky dipping sauce. The whole experience was like a flavour safari.
The restaurant itself is beautiful inside. Palm trees, tasteful string lights, Moroccan lanterns, ornate ceiling fans. The back of the restaurant looks like a luxurious desert tent, which makes the restaurant's name make sense. You really feel like you're in a different world. There's a light floral/spice scent everywhere, which is really lovely. Not overpowering or distracting but it adds to the ambiance of the place.
We will be back!
Went last minute for a late lunch - ordered all there tapas to share - coconut shrimp was my Favorite but all good. Service was amazing (we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time so can’t comment on how it would be if it was busy).. had the musbah mule and it was amazing! Will definitely be trying a dinner with friends for the belly dancing
Mamoun was an excellent concierge! He was very accommodating and even opened up the menu for us. Would eat here again.
The restaurant was very nice, great menu and food!
We had theatre tickets and they managed to serve us with plenty of time to make the show.
The servers were exceptionally friendly and efficient.
Amazing service. The only restaurant in Toronto with a true authentic experience. Its dinner and a belly dancing show. The price is a steal for what you're getting. The belly dancers will encourage you to join them and really make it an experience for you. Had an amazing time.
I was at the sultan's ten &Cafe Moroc on Sunday night celebrated friends birthday. Loved it was a very nice experience. Our waiter Mamun was lovely very friendly and attentive . Also the food was great it s a not 100% Moroccan but it s yummy 😉 . We were very pleased with amazing belly dance show. The dancer was gorgeous and very friendly i had so much fun thanks .
The staff and dancers were very kind and a lot of fun. Everyone was very friendly and made our 6 year anniversary my favourite one yet! The food had awesome flavour and the portions were perfect. Highly recommend!!
Meal was excellent! We only wanted a quick meal as we were going to a concert afterwards so we sat in the cafe.
Ambience got a 4-star rating because I was expecting a bit more authenticity such as the music piped through. It didn’t sound Moroccan-ish or even Arabian to me. Our server was excellent, attentive and happily explained the dishes and answered our crazy food questions. Very patient and attentive. We felt special. Thank you for a wonderful evening and great entertainment. The dancer and dancing was as expected and more. A great night in spite of the cold blistering rain that night. Thanks 🙏
Food was great, the belly dance show spectacular as usual!
The service was extremely slow, my wait between appetiser and entree was one hour, and the server realised that yet, we were given no compensation for the wait.
Went with fixed price menu which allowed us to sit in the “tents” with 3 over tables and to be able to belly dancing show, the first which occurs at 7 PM and the second at 10 PM. The dancers are friendly and interactive. It was our first time here and overall it was a great experience. Will definitely return.
Appetizers and cocktails great. Mains mixed service slow and inattentive
over was ok the service was a bit slow and the food was not so great. it was 55$ for the menu but did not taste extremely great. the apetiser beef was good humus had not much taste was waterie. the desert was extremely small. Entertainment was just ok I dont think the belly dancer show was just i dont think it was a real belly dancer show i seen many so im a bit disapointed when i spent 180$.
I had a reservation at 730 and had to wait a long time for my table despite this. My party of three was then seated at a table for two which is just ridiculous. The service was extremely slow as by the time we got our main courses it was around 9/9:15. Although the food was very good, I don’t think the poor service makes it worth it.
Dinner and the show were both great. Waiter and Manager both took care of us
I think they should upgrade their meal. And add more food on their menu for 50$ and a small portion was poor to me. the service the servant and the dancers were al great and pleasant
We had a wonderful experience at Sultan’s Tent. The atmosphere was perfect, the service was impeccable and the food was delicious. This was our second time here and we can’t wait to go back.
Great food, service and dance performance. Our server was taking care of us well. Very friendly staff. We ordered steak and lamb shank as our main course which were so delicious. We had a party of 4 and really enjoyed our time at the Sultan's Tent.
Never disappointed with The Sultan’s tent Restaurant. Great Place, Great Food and perfect Service, Specially from our waiter Ramy and restaurant Manager Medhat.
Food was rather bland, unfortunately. The roasted cauliflower was great. The tajines were disappointing. Service was excellent, friendly, and responsive. It I wouldn’t go again unless the prices were lower AND the quality was much higher.
Amazing decor and really good food! Definitely worth a 2nd, 3rd etc. visit!
Having travelled to morrocco twice this meal really disappointed. FYI 2/4 desert options are not Moroccan. Creme brûlée is French. Baklava is greek. The tagine was underwhelming. Should come to the table sizzling hot. Nothing like how they cook it in morrocco. The Cod was overcooked and too fishy and trying too hard to add flavour.
I suppose most local torontonians will not know any better. As a local (not a tourist) had a bad meal here when they first opened and vowed never to go back. I saw a “new chef” sign in the window so decided to give it more more try. If you are going to do something - do it right! Too bad. Very disappointing.
Service: waiter really should change flatware and cutlery between the apps and the entrees. Kind of basic expectation at this price point.
Great place for the experience. Would redo. The one thing that ticked me off was we ordered the cigars for dessert, thought I was clear that it was 1 order but they brought out two. They werent super tasty so we left 4 of them on the plate. Server offered us complementary coffee after, but should have addressed the fact that we only ordered 1 serving... overall service/food/atmosphere was good.
Excellent experience, a bit of wait for dinner, restaurant was busy. Very knowledgeable server, friendly staff. Great food, enjoyed the show. Will for sure visit again.
The food and service was amazing! I’ll definitely go back!
