The Teahouse Restaurant
One of Stanley Park’s historic seaside landmarks, this popular meeting spot is minutes from downtown Vancouver and boasts an outdoor fireplace on the restaurant’s patio, which looks out to sunset views of Georgia Strait from the western tip of Stanley Park.
For private events, the Teahouse has three distinct rooms; perfect for seminars, meetings or special occasions of any kind. Each room offers ocean views that are unmatched in Vancouver.
The Teahouse is a contemporary dining experience with a difference, accompanied by the longest sunsets in the city.
Typically great, friendly, attentive service but not this time....
Host Mark was welcoming but female server Tessa was as lacklustre as they come. We had a 65th birthday celebration, attended by mom, daughter, grandma, and it was very disappointing. We do this annual birthday event but may go elsewhere next year. It seemed as though Tessa just didn’t want to be there, like she was just putting in the time till the shift was over. Drinks were left unfilled. She was non-plussed when the daughter announced the mom’s big birthday (which they should have known about from the reservation), and no smiles or friendliness until the bill came out! It ruined the event. And the food is way overpriced and not as high quality as the city’s better brunch places luke Medina’s etc. And the side room we were in was freezing! (A wedding in the main part) a terrible disappointment. We expected charm, kindness, enthusiasm (which we got from the kitchen staff) from the server... but it wasn’t forthcoming.
A wonderful restaurant in the forest, warm atmosphere and amazing location.
We had the turkey special, salad and dessert were outstanding, the mussels poor as well as the turkey dinner, too little meat no choice of dark or white meat no skin, too much stuffing ,and the same for the potatoes, we expected much better with our past experiences in your restaurant .
Thank you for your attention , hopefully our comments are constructive for improvement for the future.
A wonderful way to spend our final night in Vancouver. We had the Thanksgiving turkey dinner (as did most of the diners around us) and the Sunday roast beef; both were very good. The fall salad was delicious, and the cranberry glazed cheesecake was out of this world. Our server, Mauro, was absolutely outstanding! Very professional, personable and attentive - he didn't miss a thing. Overall, a lovely experience, and the setting, at sunset, was magical.
Superb restaurant tucked away in Stanley Park. We had 180 degree water views from out table for 2.
Our timing was perfect to catch the sunset too.
We ordered off the Thanksgiving Prix fix menu and it was delicious. They also had the full menu available.
Cheers to The Teahouse!
Ps The manager even stopped by our table. Very old school.
Sasha was great serving us and the atmosphere is so serene. This is a spot I will take all my family and friends who come to visit Vancouver. One of my top choices for sure.
Reservation for 6:30 Friday night. Very brief wait while window table was being cleared; there were other non-window tables available, so it was nice to be offered the choice of the window table. Sitting in the bar area was pleasant; very cozy, and the English Bay view is unbeatable!
The staff was beyond gracious when my companion spilled both water glasses over the table; they quickly sat us at another table, took our dinner order while our original table was being cleaned yet again, then re-sat us by the window; with smiles throughout. I was so appreciative AND impressed!
My dinner of carrot-ginger soup and the 7 oz steak was perfect. The spice in the soup is present, but not overpowering. I cannot say enough about the excellent service; attentive without being intrusive or fawning.
Have already recommended to friends; view, service, and food are definitely worth the price.
Just lovely in beautiful Stanley Park. Had a delicious brunch, enjoying every bite!
We were celebrating our anniversary, and Tea House was perfect! Our server (Mark) was brilliant. The entree (Steak Neptune) was possibly the most amazing thing I have ever eaten. Wonderful experience.
Went for brunch - wasn’t able to cut into my English muffin was so dried out and hard - hash browns were the same. Cocktail was just ok. View was nice
We had a really nice time. Beautiful view and the food was good!
The only problem was getting a taxi to pick us up after lunch. Had to wait over an hour. Its really an issue for the taxi companies!
This is such a beautiful and unique place to dine. Staff were all so friendly, helpful and thoughtful.
We had the prime rib dinner special on Sunday night. I thought the yorkshire pudding was not very good. The prime rib was a generous portion and was the best part of the meal. The mushrooms we ordered on the side were not very warm and not that great. I thought that 4 shrimps for $14 was a little much. Overall, it took us almost 2 hours from sitting down to finishing our meal, which I think that was not great.
Such a classy restaurant that makes exceptional service and good food their priority. Place was full and we felt like we were sitting in our own home eating delicious food while gazing out over the water and taking in an absolutely breathtaking sunset.
We have been frequent Patrons of this establishment over the years and were always happy and impressed. This is why we decided to treat our Visitors from New Zealand to this location and show them one of Vancouver's "pearls"
we made a RESERVATION by the window 2 days ahead , hoping to get the usual Dining Room with Table Cloths and Panoramic Windows.
when we arrived , we were ushered in to what usually serves as the casual Dining area / wait and have drink while your table is ready section. Much to our Surprise for a Thursday afternoon outside of the hectic Tourist season, even the outside Patio was very busy.
This resulted in the same staff having to cater/serve double, perhaps triple the business than on a regular day, so subsequently, the service , although friendly, was severly lacking.
All of us (4 people, ordered off the "set menu" , one price/3 course meal) with ONE substitution of s different soup. Once the bill arrived, it reflected the REGULAR price per item and the substitution from one soup to another (tiny bowl) was $10 extra ….Really ??
The Maitr'e de somewhat reluctantly changed the bill to reflect our original order, which was still a sizable amount for 4 people. During the 3 plus hours we were there, not ONCE did the server come by to replenish water/bread/drinks etc....very likely because instead bringing on extra staff for such a busy day , they had no time, as we observed the same servers scrambling to accommodate in all 3 sections.
So, we don't blame the servers as much as the Management for not bringing in the extra help when it was clearly needed.
As always, the FOOD was good and tasty, so no complaints there.
I would still recommend this Retaurant, albeit cautiously to a Friend, for reasons as described above.

Food service ambiance was spectacular...last evening of a wonderful vacation.
Wonderful decor, delicious food and great server John
Great location and service. However, there are very limited options for vegetarians so that might keep us away in the future. If you eat meat and fish - you have lots of choices. The scenery is worth the trip.
Knew nothing about the place as we were only in Vancouver for four days. So glad we stumbled upon it. Lovely food, location and ambience but it was the service which impressed s most. We arrived VERY early and that is so irritating (I was in hospitality in my youth), but you would never have known.
Thanks for a special evening in a beautiful city.

Busy place with good standard of food and service. Excellent coffee
The restaurant was cold and so was the food. In addition the food was tasteless and the service was slow. We had guests and had promised them a wonderful prime rib dinner and it was not delivered. We Are regular customers and did not expect to have a terrible experience for our guests.
Prime rib special was delectable! Service was superb! Such a beautiful restaurant with marvellous views!
A few weeks ago we visited the Teahouse and were not very impressed with the food, our recent visit was a very different experience. The Eggs Benedict were perfectly done, all food was received hot and attractively presented. Service was excellent. We are so pleased The Teahouse has gone back to offering good food and service.
food was good but was a little noisy for easy conversation
Excellent food (we had the Antipasti, Mushroom Ravioli and Milano Cake) which was well presented and very tasty. John, our server, was friendly, informative, attentive and amusing. The atmosphere is very good and the location superb. Highly recommended.
Great service from our waiter, Robert. I had the rack of lamb and my wife had the tenderloin, both were excellent.
The Teahouse is and always will be a favorite. Incredible setting day or night. Food is good and staff friendly and efficient.
Just so surprised how the quality of the food has gone very downhill since I last visited a few years ago. We had dinner for 4 people - the cost was over $300 and the food could not have been much worse (at that level) than it was. We ordered 1 salmon, 2 halibuts, and a steak dinner and everything was so dry and bland in very small portions. Not an ounce of sauce on anything - the halibut, which I was so looking forward to, was a chunk of white/grey mass with no flavour, no sauce, and no colour - same with the salmon. The steak had no peppercorn or demi sauce - we had to ask for steak sauce because it was just so bland. It was an unpleasant surprise and considering the very expensive cost, I feel the Chef has a responsibility to present a much better product. It seems you're paying for the sunset - not the food, that's for sure. The 2 out of 2 stars is solely for the staff because the service was impeccable and first class. I think the Chef owes the staff a better product to work with as well because we could not see how the food matched the staff, presentation, location, and sunset. I would've said something to management but we were hosting a couple from New Zealand and quite frankly, I didn't want to bring attention to how unhappy we were but I was quietly embarrassed given how much we raved about the restaurant.
Extravagant food with beautiful atmosphere for a special occasion!
A truly memorable evening, John Ferrie our server was outstanding!
Really helpful hostess accommodating the reservation change. delicious menu, but my drink came 10 minutes before everyone else, and the service was quite slow. Nice ambience and setting though.
It is a very special place with a beautiful view.
You could justify going here just for the sunset. The food is not trendy, but it is excellently prepared and beautifully presented. The wine list favors the local BC wines and have been selected with some care. The service was top notch, and Joe went the extra mile walking us out and taking pictures of us in the red chairs in front of the restaurant.
Another beautiful evening at the Teahouse. Never disappointed! Fresh food, great drink selections, and great customer service!
I wanted to confirm if the salmon was"wild"? xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Outstanding service and perfect food - the fish was amazing!!!
We had good weather, a nice sunset, a seat outside at the wall and a very kind waiter. The food was excellent, well prepared and even the prosecco was fresh and tasty.
Just minor issues: the table is small, and the restaurant is very busy.
As we celebrated our 30 years wedding aniversary the kitchen prepared as a suprise a nice plate.
All in all we enjoyed the evening very much.
Excellent place to celebrate special occasion, it’s one of our favourite restaurant.
