The Teahouse Restaurant
One of Stanley Park’s historic seaside landmarks, this popular meeting spot is minutes from downtown Vancouver and boasts an outdoor fireplace on the restaurant’s patio, which looks out to sunset views of Georgia Strait from the western tip of Stanley Park.
The natural west coast atmosphere is perfectly enhanced by Executive Chef Alan Tse's cuisine using fresh local ingredients.
For private events, the Teahouse has three distinct rooms; perfect for seminars, meetings or special occasions of any kind. Each room offers ocean views that are unmatched in Vancouver.
The Teahouse is a contemporary dining experience with a difference, accompanied by the longest sunsets in the city.

Very good restaurant, excellent service, amazing view!
Strongly recommend if you can get a reservation!
Great food, and great service from Yana! We were there celebrating my wife’s birthday and Yana made sure to wish her a happy birthday. They were very accommodating since we were also in a rush (we were late...hahaha) to catch a bard on the beach show, so they were great with putting a rush on our order so that we wouldn’t miss our show! Would definitely come back again, the patio was awesome!
Waitress was not on top of things. Had to ask for the bread. Received my meal and not cooked enough. Sent it back and everyone had finished their meals and dishes cleared before I got mine back. Cut into middle of steak and huge vein runny through the middle. Told waitress I didn’t want the meal after everyone had already eaten. But she brought it anyways. After I returned my meal never saw the waitress until she brought the bill. Very disappointing. Will never go back!
A delightful spot in Stanley Park with stellar view of the water. Charming and efficient staff made excellent food and wine suggestions and were attentive throughout our meal. Varied menu selections and artistic presentation pleased both eye and palette. Definitely planning a return visit!
The TeaHouse at sunset was an incredible experience! Our waitress, Yana, and the rest of the staff was outstanding. I can’t think of a thing they should change. Thanks for a perfect 20th anniversary experience!!
We had a great time for our wedding anniversary dinner
Not the usual great experience I have had in the past. Service was adequate, food was okay. Our tea was in tepid water so asked to be redone. Apparently the bus person hadn't refilled the hot water for tea. Tea should be made with freshly boiled water. Overall disappointment but will go back. perhaps it was a bad day.
I had friends from Australia visiting. It was the perfect place to take them. I’ve been twice in the last couple years and both times it was excellent.
What a special place in Stanley Park- gorgeous view, lovely atmosphere, outstanding service and delicious food! It made the last night of our Vancouver vacation a memorable experience.
Everything was just perfect. Excellent service, delicious brunch.
This place is everything. Beautiful décor, a spectacular patio and breathtaking views. The food is divine. The best part of our experience was our server, John. We will definitely be back! Love, K and T xo
Very busy Saturday. Did expect this though. Good food. Good cocktails and wine. Fair wine prices
Lovely meal in a gorgeous park like setting. Great service.
We had to wait twenty minutes after our reservation time to be seated. We even came half hour before our time to let them know we were here. After they seated us, customers who came without reservations were seated within ten minutes. Not sure what the point of our reservation was. Our waiter was great though. Food was good too.
A lovely situation for an occasion if somewhat noisy on the day we visited. What I ordered was good (Thai prawn bowl) and I think we all were quite happy with our experience. Although I should say, one of our party did want to move as a large group was celebrating a birthday at the table near us and they were quite noisy. However, we got used to it!
Food, service and location are all excellent. Parking was a bit problematic, as there appeared to be a wedding taking up much of the parking.
I do want to comment on the manager that was let go, because he asked a patron to remove his MAGA hat.
I normally do not take offense on what someone wears, but that hat would be a different story.
It would have offended me greatly.
Unfortunately, we are living in Bizarro times, where up is down, in is out and facts have alternative facts. Yet, your manager did the right thing.
Went here with a friend for a business meal mid week. Excellent wine list, great food, good service and fantastic view and ambiance. I recommend the duck!
beautiful setting, friendly and good service, food was tasty but I would put the steak with some nice roasted potatoes or mashed instead of fries and offer fries as a substitute. Ketchup doesn't look good on a steak plate. Offer Bernaise instead. mmm....
Cheesecake on the dessert menu would be nice!
The hostess (Lauren) was fantastic
Very busy day and she did/was doing an excellent job.
The service was super nice.
Sadly the food was a let down.
Great food. However as a place for a special occasion I would give this a wide berth. I booked this to celebrate 28 years of marriage. The room was cold, by the time we got to mains the restaurant was empty and the staff commenced setting up the tables for the following day. We declined desert and were not offered coffee just the bill. The staff were very very junior who lacked good customer experience managemment and the host simply vanished. Did not tip as when the bill turned up and it had happy anniversary written on the top....... Utter jokers and expensive at that. I would avoid if you wNt somewhere special. Such a shame as expectations were high.
The Teahouse has always been my favorite place to take my out of town guests for an excellent view with excellent food. I always order the same dish for the last 8 years the salmon raft. I was very disappointed to find that they have changed my favorite dish and sadly not for the better. The raft used to be freshly prepared hash browns with onion which was delicious when paired with their house smoked salmon and fresh holandaise sauce. Now it’s something deep fried like a the hash browns at Mc Donald’s. Perhaps the Chef has changed? We will continue to be regulars because everything else was excellent I will just need to find a new favorite for brunch.
Everything was amazing. Our waiter Brendan was absolutely fabulous. Will definitely return next time I’m in Vancouver!!
My husband and I chose the Teahouse to celebrate his recent retirement. We had been several times in the past and found it to be quite special. This time, however, we were thoroughly disappointed. When we arrived we were seated towards the back of the restaurant at a small table near the entrance to the solarium area. There was a wedding celebration in that room. Hence, the traffic flow right next to our table was busy! There was a table of six seated between us and the ocean view (which I do understand and could accept), but the people at the table were extremely loud and quite obnoxious (particularly the one gentleman seated less than 4 feet away from me). He spoke loudly and his topics of conversation were not always of good taste. Our server brought water to our table and left us for two minutes before we ordered. We chose an appetizer to share, a salad to share, two entrees and alcohol for my husband. She brought bread which was quickly followed with the appetizer and the salad at the same time. As soon as we were done she immediately collected our plates and another server came with the entrees. The dinners were "placed?" without care in front of us and we were left. The noise level continued to the point which we could hardly hear each other speak. A server came to collect our dishes before we had even completed our main course and seemed annoyed that we had not finished. We let him take the plates when he returned two minutes later. The server took my husband's order for coffee and then disappeared. All in all, the meal was completely over in approximately 35 minutes (not what you would expect for fine dining). We waited for 22 minutes for the server to return and bring the bill claiming that the wedding nextdoor was the cause for rushing our meal. For the amount we paid, we felt completely rushed through and have had better dining experiences at Whitespot or Swiss Chalet. It was definitely NOT what we expected!
Lovely building & location. Top notch service. Menu is okay. I had fish & chips ...fish was greasy. Would have been nice if the ordered included colesslaw or some vegetable. More & more restaurants recognise that people in general are more health conscious & cater to that. I rarely order fish & chips because its not overly healthy, but I thought the tea house would do it well....it was okay.
The ambience, view and surroundings are wonderful - as is the service. However, I decided to treat myself to the rack of lamb - I believe the most expensive item on the menu. It was disappointing. I found it to be underseasoned, chewy and not at all comparable to other racks of lamb that I have enjoyed in the past. The vegetables were over-cooked so it was definitely not the $40 "special treat" I was hoping for. Mint sauce might have helped but wasn't available. My daughter had the mussels followed by the duck, which she enjoyed but didn't feel was rave-worthy. All in all, it was a nice meal in a lovely location, but food-wise I didn't feel we received value for the expense. I would return, but probably just for dessert, coffee and the sunset.
Amazing experience. It's a must place to visit!
Everything was perfect. We were even lucky that on this visit, there was an eagle perched high on a tree! What an added bonus to a wonderful restaurant located with gorgeous view!
This is a really lovely restaurant, the food was good- the usual smaller quantities with higher prices. Great for a special occasion. We had the mussels to start and they were excellent. We had booked later in the evening so were able to walk outside to check out the sunset down on the beach.
A little disappointed as I had booked a few weeks in advance and advised them it was our 20th anniversary and if we could have a nice table by the window. Upon our arrival - no mention of our anniversary, no table near a window. When we had an anniversary dinner at a different restuarant - they had a nice little card for us at our table wish us a Happy Anniversary. Just a thought Teahouse - it is a nice little touch.
Again, the Teahouse Restaurant delivered! Great food, good wine, fabulous ambience and the gorgeous sea views. It's one of my favourites over the years in Vancouver.
The service was excellent and personal...food presentation lovely along with great taste...the saying it looks as good as it taste stands true to this beautifully located restaurant. The ambiance set the tempo to a relaxing enjoyable lunch with our friend from Sanfransico...Kudos to the Tea House for making us feel so proud of where we live in.
Our server, Kelly, was exceptional and definitely made all the difference in our experience.
I had high hopes for a wonderful dining experience so I took 2 friends who were visiting from the UK, but it was very disappointing.
First of all, there should be valet parking as the parking meter is exhorbitant and we had to park so far away and all got soaked going back to the car.!
The window seat was nice and the ambiance was pleasant but the food was way below par.
My Duck was really dry and completely tasteless, the Salmon was over cooked and the soup lacked any real flavour.
Our Server took cash from one of my friends without asking if she needed change and didn’t bother to bring her any change back. That was both embarrassing and upsetting, so my friend spoke with the Manager.
I haven’t been to the Teahouse for several years and won’t be going back.
Staff were very courteous, food was excellent, our choice was salmon, which was cooked to perfection. Roasted cauliflower with chimichurri was fabulous.
Restaurant was busy and noisy. Would definitely go again.
Our plans had changed and we arrived an hour early for our reservation. We were seated immediately. It was a coolish day so we opted to sit inside. It looked like all of the tables had a water view. We were greeted immediately by our enthusiastic server, Jan. The bread was delicious and was accompanied by a small complimentary plate of melon for each of us, possibly because it was brunch. The food was good although the choices were limited. The restaurant had a lively vibe. There was a party of some sort in the conservatory. Our table was near the door and we enjoyed watching the guests come and go. The appetizers being brought out to the party looked amazing. I would definitely return if in the area and would recommend the Tea House. Also, I had been concerned about parking, but even with a full restaurant and a party, we easily found a spot. I do believe you have to pay to park. We had stopped elsewhere in Stanley Park and had purchased several hours which included our visit to the restaurant.
The avocado toast was decadent, the service was great, and we got a happy birthday song for our dual birthday.
I made reservations for 1:45.
I was not seated until 1:00 - I had the impression that my reservation hadn’t registered because no special birthday table had been set up, and walk-ins were seated as I waited... hmmmm
compared to your other restaurants (ate at Codero's the day before) the food was not of the same caliber and the service was poor (nor server's fault not well trained we could tell). Will not return.
We began our engagement celebrations with a brunch with the parents at the Teahouse. I chose it because the view was stunning and my fiance's parents were visiting from out of town. The server spilled my moms mimosa on her, the food runner pushed the plate onto the table a knocked a glass of water on me, we had to flag them to order more drinks and get the condiments we wanted. The food was mediocre, for that price point - in this city I expect a little more care put into a menu. All in all, if it wasn't for the stunning view and charming room it would have been a total bust.
Great location and view. We requested a window view and it was a wonderful table. Best to not sit right beside the window but slightly away from the window, facing the view. Nice to be able to have a conversation without shouting. Menu could be slightly more creative, but the food was good as was the service.
Another terrific visit to The Teahouse! I have been bringing my young granddaughter here for a special lunch every time I visit for several years. As always, an excellent menu, foods beautifully prepared, and the service was welcoming and professional. Thank you again! I will see you next visit.
