The Teahouse Restaurant
One of Stanley Park’s historic seaside landmarks, this popular meeting spot is minutes from downtown Vancouver and boasts an outdoor fireplace on the restaurant’s patio, which looks out to sunset views of Georgia Strait from the western tip of Stanley Park.
For private events, the Teahouse has three distinct rooms; perfect for seminars, meetings or special occasions of any kind. Each room offers ocean views that are unmatched in Vancouver.
The Teahouse is a contemporary dining experience with a difference, accompanied by the longest sunsets in the city.

Lovely perfect ambience for a cold wet day. Cozy but bright, quiet for good conversation. Picture natural light from mostly a dome of glass and a large wood burning fireplace along with ocean views.
Prices reasonable, especially given the location. Food pretty good.
The only thing I didn't like was the sense of timing. Felt somewhat pressured to order and food came too fast. Though at the end they said we could take our time leaving (which was nice, and made sense as the restaurant didn't seem overly busy). I don't think the timing issue was on purpose.
Having said all that I would definitely recommend and come back.
Birthday Excellent
Large private corporate event contributed to the noise level but it was fine
The food I ordered wasn’t that good. I asked for a well done steak, and it was medium. They wanted to do it again, but I didn’t want. It would take so long. It’s a nice place but the food is not that good. Just a regular place.
The Teahouse is reliably great. The setting is lovely, the view is beautiful, the interior is charming. Service is friendly and knowledgeable; people are personable and professional, never artificial or snooty. And the food is reliably top-notch--not adventurous, but that's not what you go to the Teahouse for.
On this occasion, everything was at least very good, and almost everything went past that into excellent or amazing. Any niggles are tiny. When they brought the bread, the bread was nice and hot, but the butter was still chilled, so it didn't melt well. And my duck confit was very good, and fell apart easily, but I felt it could have been a tiny bit juicier and the demi-glace could have had a bit more flavour, a bit more oomph. But the roasted mushrooms we had on the side were just absolutely amazing and scrumptious. And my wife's salmon was incredible. I mean, salmon, you know? It's Vancouver, everyone does salmon. And it's not like there was anything innovative or weird going on, no heavy spicing, it was just cooked perfectly, just melt in your mouth salmon, when she gave me a couple of bites it was like I was tasting salmon for the first time. Plus the skin was crispy and yummy.
I had two desserts, as is my habit, went with the creme brulee and some raspberry sorbet. Simple classics, done exquisitely--a delicate creme brulee, the sugar giving just enough of that burnt flavour and shattering crisply, the creme light and fresh. Delicious, I needed to stop chatting and pay attention. And the raspberry sorbet--well, generally with raspberry sorbet you either get it right or you don't; Teahouse got it right. And my wife had an interesting concoction that they called a Nanaimo Jar . . . sort of a pot de creme kind of thing with a Nanaimo bar theme; I don't like coconut, but she raved about it, seems they pulled it off big time.
Overall, the Teahouse is one of the best places in town, a Vancouver classic.
LOVE the Tea House. The food is always excellent and so is the service. I had the crab cakes benny and it was plentiful and delish! I can highly recommend The Tea House. Great for out of town guests. You definitely need to make a reservation as it is very popular!
Great location, warm and cozy. Nicely suprised by the amount of food.
The view of the sea and sunset is great. Food is okay. The decoration is cute. However, there was a group of people chatting and laughing loudly but no one from the restaurant told them to be quieter. That is the most disappointing part for the dinner.
Absolutely fantastic experience!!! I do love the Teahouse!!!
American Thanksgiving dinner
Restaurant was very nice with good menu. Price is reasonable and service was great!
Reservation was swift, service was good, food was good but not outstanding, setting is nice with a nice view (if you picked the right table. Price is on the high side for what we had. For a special occasion we would come back.
I ordered the wrong entree. It was the ravioli pasta with mushrooms and the whole plate was filled with arugula. A little too much arugula. I think less would be better. Other than that it is a lovely restaurant. The staff seem great.
Lovely venue. Too bad it was November so we were too late to see the sunset. It was decorated for Christmas though. The food was delicious! Seafood linguine. Brussel sprouts with bacon & maple syrup. Yum! We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. The waitress brought us a dessert on a decorated plate. Lovely! A special place for a special occasion. We won't wait 40 years before returning.
Great place for lunch. But getting there is a pain, there is no short cut, you have to drive through Stanley Park. And if the parking is full, you have to drive all around the park AGAIN!(one way traffic). Otherwise, dining there is always enjoyable and delicious.
The wife and I went for the Prime Rib Special. The service was very good. The Prime Rib was good, but not spectacular. The red Sangria was excellent though and the place overall was quite charming.
It was wonderful memory for us, we'll visit again.
Great table for two and everything one could ask for in food, atmosphere and service on a Sunday late brunch short notice.
We all enjoyed the food but the experience was made extra special and fun with your waiter Nick. Outstanding customer service and an enjoy to be served by a young man like that.
The location, decor and ambiance is worth the drive. Service is always excellent. The food, although well presented, was barely lukewarm, served on hot plates. The chicken and fish would have tasted good if it had been served hot. Maybe next time. The desserts were delicious.
Fabulous service!!
Nice place!
Took our friend there for her 75 birthday. It was her first time. Our server was wonderful and made her birthday dessert very special. She even took pictures for us with our phones.
First time to Stanley Park and took a chance on this place.
Had a great experience and the food was spectacular. Will return again and bring friends.
Connie our server was excellent.
We had a very pleasant birthday brunch at the Tea House. Our waiter, Sasha, was excellent. He was very attentive without being obtrusive. The complimentary birthday treat was a nice touch. We’re looking forward to going back again!
The stuffed mushrooms were delicious and the salmon was perfectly cooked.
This is a perfect place for a business or leisure lunch, service, food and ambient were excellent. The only problem I had was parking and road signs. Inside Stanley Park there are no signs to guide drivers to the restaurant. At the car park next to the restaurant, there is no clear sign showing that it is paid parking.
Excellent service, excellent food, excellent reservation system.
Such a lovely spot and the Sunday dinner special of roast beef was excellent and great value for a 3 course meal
Food wasnt the quality I expected with the price and how fancy the restaurant was. The inside of the potatoes weren't cooked or hot, and the outside was so hard it was like an outer nut shell. Hazelnut latte tasted sour. Food looked better than it tasted
Daniela was an excellent waitress! Our table was beautiful. Surprise birthday dessert with candle, tiny cupcake was awesome!
Our waiter John was fantastic. Great recommendations on food. We all had great meals.
Looking forward to going again!
Our server was so lovely to our son. Thank you for your kindness and great service :)
Thanksgiving
Typically great, friendly, attentive service but not this time....
Host Mark was welcoming but female server Tessa was as lacklustre as they come. We had a 65th birthday celebration, attended by mom, daughter, grandma, and it was very disappointing. We do this annual birthday event but may go elsewhere next year. It seemed as though Tessa just didn’t want to be there, like she was just putting in the time till the shift was over. Drinks were left unfilled. She was non-plussed when the daughter announced the mom’s big birthday (which they should have known about from the reservation), and no smiles or friendliness until the bill came out! It ruined the event. And the food is way overpriced and not as high quality as the city’s better brunch places luke Medina’s etc. And the side room we were in was freezing! (A wedding in the main part) a terrible disappointment. We expected charm, kindness, enthusiasm (which we got from the kitchen staff) from the server... but it wasn’t forthcoming.
A wonderful restaurant in the forest, warm atmosphere and amazing location.
We had the turkey special, salad and dessert were outstanding, the mussels poor as well as the turkey dinner, too little meat no choice of dark or white meat no skin, too much stuffing ,and the same for the potatoes, we expected much better with our past experiences in your restaurant .
Thank you for your attention , hopefully our comments are constructive for improvement for the future.
respectfully,
JIm Gruetzke
A wonderful way to spend our final night in Vancouver. We had the Thanksgiving turkey dinner (as did most of the diners around us) and the Sunday roast beef; both were very good. The fall salad was delicious, and the cranberry glazed cheesecake was out of this world. Our server, Mauro, was absolutely outstanding! Very professional, personable and attentive - he didn't miss a thing. Overall, a lovely experience, and the setting, at sunset, was magical.
Superb restaurant tucked away in Stanley Park. We had 180 degree water views from out table for 2.
Our timing was perfect to catch the sunset too.
We ordered off the Thanksgiving Prix fix menu and it was delicious. They also had the full menu available.
Cheers to The Teahouse!
Ps The manager even stopped by our table. Very old school.
