Fantastic dinner. Outstanding food, attentive and friendly service in an excellent ambience. One of the best meals in Canada.
We were really impressed with the food (although the prices were a bit ridiculous), and our server was charming. The only problem is that there seems to be a double standard with the maitre d' -- my wife and daughter were both told to remove their hats in the restaurant (which is appropriate given the atmosphere), but throughout our meal, we observed several other guests who wore hats and were given no trouble about it whatsoever. This feels like a double standard and did not leave me with a good impression. Also, the maitre d' asked if we were celebrating anything special, and I told him, "it is our last night in Whistler" -- normally when customers are asked a question like this, the restaurant presents them with something small but special -- for example, an amuse bouche, a dessert to share, or a glass of champagne. Instead, we were given nothing. Compare that to Il Caminetto and Araxi (where we dined the previous two nights), both of which provided us with some small dessert bites, umprompted, and without any need for us to mention a special occasion. I will also add that Il Caminetto and Araxi were both less expensive than Wildflower.
Great food. Best yet in Whistler
It was an absolutely delightful dining experience the way to Bruno the quality of the food was excellent and the wines we picked which is right. great acoustics.
We came here for Valentine's Day during a weekend trip to Whistler. The service we received was above and beyond. I have never been to any dining establishment that made an effort to learn our names which was a really nice treat. The food was amazing and the restaurant itself was very quaint. We would love to come back to try some of the other items on the menu
If you want fancy food with a McDonald’s atmosphere then this is the place for you. Diners wearing t-shirts, young children RUNNING around the restaurant in bare feet with their BAREFOOTED patents- a clear health code violation. Not the servers fault nor the kitchen, but very much the fault of the management. Atmosphere impacts the quality of the dining experience and this one most negatively. We have dined at this restaurant multiple times in the past and found it to be elegant and pleasant with excellent food. Well no more and we will not return.
Everything was great. Only thing is the dessert menu could be expanded a bit
The service was excellent and dinner was cooked perfectly. Great place to enjoy a real Canadian Whistler experience.
We had a lovely dinner, including great service from Chris. Our food was uniquely plated and delicious.
Visit every time we are in whistler never disappoints
An excellent meal and service. Our waiter did a great job. My only complaint is that the bottles of wine are not competitive with other Whistler restaurants. Overall our experience was excellent.
The Wildflower Restaurant is a fine-dining restaurant in the tradition of the late 20th century era; refined, quiet, and very comfortable. The enjoyment of dining there starts at its entrance where you are greeted politely by a friendly staff member who quickly summons your personal table waiter to escort you to your table. The enjoyment doesn't end until one leaves the establishment, fully satisfied by a beautifully presented meal prepared to one's individual desire. My wife and I chose the sockeye salmon for our main serving and it was full of flavour and soft in texture, truely a delight to eat! We have returned each winter for the past 15 years as part of our annual skiing vacation from "down-under" to this wonderful restaurant and have never been disappointed by doing so.
Very convenient if staying in Fairmont. Service and food are first class.
For our last night in Whistler we had a great experience trying out available vegan dishes (vegetable pakora and BC Mushroom). The service was first class as was the food including the coffee and vegan brownie for dessert. Restaurant staff were welcoming, attentive and quick to clear away dishes and stealthy setup tables when folks around we done.
Le service était excellent peut-être trop... nous étions dérangés trop souvent... ce n’était pas toujours nécessaire ...
Beautiful food in a gorgeous setting. The service was good after an initial flat champagne delivery, replaced without question. Great overall experience, highly recommended.
The food is good and the portions are large for Whistler’s finer dining scene. The menu is split with half of the selections for sustainability Planet 21. With that in mind, I personally did not find that menu’s food combination too appealing. Both my sons had the Hanceville Grass fed Beef, which was an open plate ravioli on that menu, and the presentation could really be worked on. I had the West Coast Cioppino which is a mixed seafood stew, it was very tasty. My husband had the Bear and Flower Pork, which he found very filling. The ambiance is lovely but it is very family oriented being on the ski resort and we were surrounded by tables with very young children late in the evening. Service is professional.
great menu - lots of options - service excellent with good spacing between courses.
Lovely staff, made us feel special and after a small snafu with timing they comped us our starter. Chris our waiter was especially great, highly recommended.
Attentive but not intrusive service. Delicious meals. The chocolate fondue dessert was big enough for our 4 person family. We really enjoyed it.
Everything was perfect! we will definitely go back
Wonderful meal and ambiance . Our server Lisa Marie was a delight. Thank you!
Wildflower was a disappointment in every way possible. 3 people in our party ordered the pork belly which was 90% fat and cold in the center. I had the sablefish which was very fishy.
For dessert we ordered the caramel and coco-nut cake. The waitress reassured us that coco-nut (how it’s written in the menu) meant coconut, not tree nuts, and would be safe for our son who has a nut allergy. When the cake came there was clearly a layer of nuts and could have been a huge disaster if we weren’t vigilant about double checking.
The two cakes tasted like what we’d get in a second rate NY diner.
We arrived at 7:45 for an 8pm reservation, the reception was cold and stiff - were told we wouldn’t be seated until our reservation time. 8pm came and we were still not called. When I reminded receptionist that we’d been waiting he ran into the dining room to set the table - he obviously forgot about us.
All in all a forgettable experience. There are many much better dining options in Whistler.
Martin, our server, was outstanding.
Best meal of our trip! Highly recommend it.
Excellent food- with very interesting menu. Probably the best meal in whistler fir us so far
WE very much enjoyed our Christmas Dinner. It was stylish with excellent service and great food. Certainly a repeat for us.
We’ve gone here most times we’re in whistler. If this restaurant was in Los Angeles were we live. I probably wouldn’t. Example, we got the special of the night as one of the dishes, pan seared cod with pasta shells in a delicious sauce. Cod was very tasty but over cooked, pasta was great but the sauce was so powerful that you could not enjoy the simple cod after the first bite. To me it’s a whistler issue as a whole. Food overwhelmed and not finessed once you go outside a plain filet of beef. Bearfoot restaurant have the best true metropolitan dishes. Still this is a good restaurant and will come back because of the lack of choices.
Absolutely stunning! A beautiful ambiance, fantastic friendly service and top quality produce. Bruno gave our family the best service!
There was over an hour wait between when we finished our appetizers and entree.
Birthday dinner was great! Love the ambiance and service.
Courteous staff and service. Nice place. Great that there's a free shuttle from village. Good food.
We got engaged at the Wildflower and Nick Humphries was amazing. I emailed beforehand to setup a special night and Nick went about and beyond to make sure that it happened perfectly. Our waitress Rebecca was also amazing and the night couldn’t have been more amazing. Thanks to the Wildflower for everything they did. Food was great too!
Dear Valued Guest, We are happy to hear you enjoyed dining with us in the Wildflower dinner and will be sure to pass on your comments to our culinary and service teams. We take pride in continuously improving the variety and presentation of our food, as well as the service and dining experiences for each and every guest and are pleased to hear that Nick and Rebecca looked after you so well. We hope to see you again soon! Kind Regards, The Wildflower Manager
My dinner ambiance was very relaxing complimented by some great, informative service from Chris, my server that evening, and an excellent meal prepared by the chef. Well done everyone!
Had the most wonderful thanksgiving dinner in Wildflower. All staff could not have been more helpful. We had a wonderful evening.
Great overall experience. Wonderful food variety. Would definitely book again.
We both had the 3 course Turkey Dinner which was very good. However, we would not ever order such a dinner again because there was simply too much food for us to really enjoy. I might recommend giving options as to whether patrons want a single course, a two course or a three course meal. For those of us that have made it into our mid sixties, many of us do not have the same appetite that we had when we were younger.
Always a treat to eat here....everything was wonderful with great service . We have been dining here for 30 years and the Wildflower has always been a consistent source of joy for my family with wonderful quality and food selections.
