Tiara Restaurant - Queen's Landing Hotel
We enjoyed our first dinner at Tiara. Our server Rose was first class all the way and so friendly! The food was delicious and we had a lovely view of the Niagara River, even though we weren't sitting right at the window. We were going to the theatre and everything came out quickly and we were able to walk over to the theatre from Tiara in about 4 minutes!! We highly recommend Tiara and will be back again!
Server was great, reminded us of a package so we could save a couple bucks!
We came for the Sunday brunch and we asked if we could be seated outside and the hostess allowed it. It took at least 5 minutes for us to be greeted and then she didn’t know what to do when we said we were having brunch.
The food was good. There was a nice variety. We were not offered coffee or juice (it is included) and we had to ask for it after about 15-20 minutes of being seated.
The waiter didn’t come by often at all and we had been finished eating for at least 15 minutes and had to get her attention to ask for our bills.
Overall the food was good, service was not good at all. I don’t think it was worth the $45 price tag with tax and tip.
We had high expectations based on the reviews. Our arrival went smoothly, the order taken, and waitress told that we had theater tickets for 8. She said that was plenty of time. The appetizers and drinks arrived in good time. Then, 40 minutes went by with nary a view of any staff. At 7:10 we searched out our server who told us that our meals were going on the plates. Ten minutes later dinner appeared: it looked like dormitory food — just dumped on the plates. Worse, both the halibut and chicken we ordered were overdone along with the vegetables and rice - the dinners had obviously been sitting in the kitchen and had been reheated (or basked on a warming tray). The halibut was also not as described in the menu. We complained to the server who, knowing that we had to leave, offered us complementary desserts and coffee. As I am dairy intolerant, this left me with coffee. So, for $70CA we got appetizers, 2 ginger ales, 1 glass of wine, 1 dessert (which we had not intended on ordering), 2 coffees, and no dinner. While the server was apologetic, this hardly covered the experience. No one else said a word and I was surprised that we were charged anything. In all, a dreadful evening. Avoid going there.
Nice Sunday brunch with great food and good service. The selection is diverse and the table pot of coffee a nice surprise as a coffee-addict. The next table was a bit loud, but otherwise a very nice family brunch. Likely not to return anytime soon since the price is quite high, but perhaps in a year or so for a special occasion.
Great service, great food. The waiter surprised us with dessert was our anniversary.
Had seat near window was an amazing view was excellent. The price is right.
Will go back soon.
we were greeted imediately on arrival hostess was very polite , our server Rose was perfect , friendly but not intrusive she was attentive and prompt the food was very good , some of the flavors were new to us so not sure if we really preferred it but overall it was very good the deal with the hotel made it acceptably priced , when they discovered we were celebrating our anniversary we were treated special with flowers and pictures
Amazing experience from start to finish, our waiter Arthur, was especially attentive, and very efficient. He obviously loves his job as it showed in everything he did to make our visit a memorable one! We will return for sure.
Wonderful brunch with a great selection of dishes and great atmosphere.
It was my first time dining here and it meet my expectations! The food was delicious, along with the ambiance and excellent service. Can’t wait to dine here again!
Was very excited to try out Tiara but was quite disappointed. The menu was quite "blue-hair" and the food was not memorable at all. The most memorable item on the menu was "the Great Lakes Catch of the Day" which in this case was Shrimp Linguine. Last I checked there is not much of a shrimp industry on the Great Lakes (But I could ask Forest Gump's friend Bubba..he would know). The place was empty on a Saturday and although the location is nice the dining area needs a makeover.
Celebrated anniversary at Tiara . Outstanding service and food. Ordered lamb that we had to return as it was not as ordered. No problem the restaurant fixed another and it was perfect. Sometimes it happens.
Desserts were special with happy anniversary written on the plate.
Would eat here again.
Did not order wine but would like to use the sommelier with a tasting menu
Tiara is pleasant enough, but still has the feel of being a hotel restaurant. Lovely view from the window tables.
The quality of the ingredients was extremely fresh - our waitress also worked with the chef to organize two unique 3 course vegan entrees that were not on the menu. Although I did call ahead to ask about vegan preparations, I was very impressed with the available options. The plating was was impressive. Our service was extremely friendly.
Nice location, nice dining experience, nice staff bit pricy and limited choice
Nice service and good food. I would have appreciated being given the best seat available given that we had reserved months in advance and were looking forward to a romantic lunch. We were place on the upper tier near the order computer and station. I had to ask to be out at one of the two free tables on the lower floor near the view.
Fantastic Sunday brunch. A little pricy but worth it. Food is yummy and great selection. Arthur our server was great 👍 great with our son. Just the right balance of attentiveness and space. Definite recommend. Have the apple juice!
great service and food
My husband and I stayed at the hotel and decided to have dinner at the Restaurant. We made reservations for 7pm. When we arrived we requested a table along the windows. The view is beautiful. There was only a few people dining, and there were a few tables open along the window. The hostess said that we couldn’t have those because the waiter had to have a break? We said we would wait and get a drink at the bar, by the time the waitress came to get us, someone took our table. The hostess said that someone moved their table while she stepped away. We ended up sitting outside which was beautiful but I didn’t understand why we couldn’t sit at the first table.. for the price you pay you get what you request. The food was good, except the mashed potatoes were a little dry. I loved the view and our waiter but couldn’t give it a great review because of the above.
Very Good everything
Our brunch server Gerry was outstanding! Really attentive but also gave us time and space to chat. Very friendly. Overall amazing experience. Thank you!
Overall, a well established venue. Classic styling, rich environment. Food was very good. Staff timing was fair. Wine pricing was above average.
We waited in the lounge and again as in previous visits spent our time swatting away fruit flies. The dining room also had flies, the regular type which again I spent time swatting away from my food. The meal was not up to it’s usual standard. My husband and myself will not return, unfortunate, it used to be our go to for special occasions.
Excellent food, extensive wine list and the service was plus 1. Location overlooking the Niagara river adds to the ambience.
Everything was great!! Great food and service! Everyone left with full bellies!!
Excellent food and service. Always enjoy going to this restaurant!
My wife and I had a lovely dinner. There was plenty of parking (a major feat in Niagara-on-the-Lake!) and we were warmly welcomed. We sat at a window overlooking the harbor and a terrace with casual diners and families with young children and toddlers. The menu has something for everyone. Biggest complaint-the portions are way too big. I ate most of my appetizer and was unable to eat more than a third of my entrée. The dessert menu had a few items that looked fun and creative, but there was no way we were going to be able to choke down another bite!
The food was amazing.
The problem was how slow it was to arrive at your table. Even drinks took an exceptionally long time to arrive. Probably because the bar services both the restaurant and the outdoor patio. Not ideal.
All the staff go out of their way to ensure you are taken care. This goes a long way to make up for delays.
Excellent service, excellent food and excellent ambiance.
Great food, great service from Gerry!
We will return, but next time for the Sunday Brunch!
The cuisine is fresh and fabulous and the staff is wonderful. I would highly recommend Tiara for a high end dinner.
Excellent food and very professional and helpful service by our server
Excellent service. Perfect table by the window. Food was excellent, prepared as requested , presentation was enjoyable and temperature was perfect. Wine pairings, as suggested by server Kevin were an excellent match. Kevin was very responsive, attentive and had an excellent disposition. Was a beautiful birthday supper for my wife. Great meal after an excellent play at the Shaw Festival.
Food and atmosphere was great. As was the service. The only complaint we have is that we stared at the start of the meal that we had theatre tickets, reiterating it in the meal and asked for an early bill. The staff still didn’t manage the time right and we ended up being late for our show and had to wait in the lobby until the first break.
We would have expected that the staff could better manage the time, even without our feedback. Plus it wasn’t busy.
A wonderful experience. Great service and food.
We asked for a vegetarian pasta , but unfortunately it was salty and had too much sauce and only mushroom as vegetable ,way far from our Pasta from last year !
Service was excellent and the food was delicious. The strawberry, rhubarb white chocolate creme brulee was a fantastic why to cap off the meal.
Our group of four had a lovely meal before the theatre on a Friday night. We had to take a early reservation (5.45 p.m.) so the restaurant was not very busy and the service very attentive. We were treated to a selection of the fine wines from the previous evening wine tasting at very reasonable prices. The menu was extensive and the server very knowledgable. Allergies were acknowledged and accommodated. The Romaine decomposed Caesar Salad was outstanding and also the Beet Salad. Mains were also very good. And the shared creme brûlée was a lovely finish. Would recommend although prices were a little on the high side even for NOTL
Both the service and the food are great. Our server accommodated all our dietary and flavour requests.
This is a great place to dine. The food and service are fabulous. We have severe food allergies and they always accommodate our choices by modifying the dishes.
