Tiara Restaurant - Queen's Landing Hotel
I booked Tiana for dinner but when we arrived realized the connected Bacchus Lounge was the one that had the patio. We were directed to that side in order to use the patio. The view and environment out there was awesome and relaxing. We looked at the menus for both restaurants and chose the Bacchus menu. Unfortunately the food ( Souvalki chicken and Club sandwich weren't as appetising as we expected.) The only real concern I had, had to do with the drink and Bacchus menus which looked like they were on plain white paper. They had food stains and remnants all over them . My g/f who is very particular about cleanliness had a hard time even touching the menus. Notwithstanding that minor detail we had a great time out on the patio.
Food was spectacular, our server Rodney was engaging and attentive, dinner finished with a rose for the ladies.
The chef's tasting menu with wine pairings was incredible. Everything was so delicious I forgot to take pictures...The service was equally amazing. Seven courses were served within two hours to accommodate our curtain time.
If was the perfect fine dining experience to celebrate an anniversary! Our server, Rose, went abuse and beyond to ensure our celebration was special from start to finish!
We were looking forward to our dinner at Tiara. Unfortunately, it wasn't what we expected. The online menu didn't match the menu at the restaurant, which was disappointing. Our service was slow and our server was unfriendly. When we finally received our food, it was either overcooked, over salted, or over dressed. Even our cocktails were poor quality. We expected far poor, especially at Tiara's price point. We eat at lot of "OpenTable restaurants" and this is the first negative review I've ever written.
Buffet is not fancy - especially considering the price we paid. Didn’t expect a buffet style brunch here (if I knew, I would have booked somewhere else).
The Ambiance is excellent, the food is as well . The waitress's service was perfect.
Great Sunday Brunch with many choices. Service was fantastic and friendly. Food was fresh and tasty.
We dined at Tiara while staying at the Prince of Wales, a sister property. We had reviewed each of the three restaurants available and decided that Tiara was the best fit for our taste. We have been foodies even before it was a word and we love to spend an evening dining and enjoying each others company. Tiara was everything we expected and so much more! The view was charming, the ambiance perfect, the food delicious. The highlight of the night however was the staff; everyone could have not been more professional and caring. I would like to especially single out Rudy, our waiter. Sufffice to say we have had the pleasure of dining in some of the finest restaurants and Rudy's level of service and charm were among the very best we have ever experienced. His attention to detail is outstanding and at the same time effortless. We believe that the staff accounts for as much of the success of an evening as the food. Rudy and the sommelier made this an evening we will long cherish.
Had a nice meal here, filet and chicken. Cooked perfectly, tasted great. Service was great and restaurant was nice and comfortable.
Food was fantastic and service was very good as well. We did have to wait a while for our drinks but not the servers fault, the bartender was backed up.
The food was very good but despite the congeniality of the wait staff the focus simply was not there. Requested items were forgotten (drinks and other requested small items) . I can certainly understand once but twice is too much, especially at this price point.
We had a great meal, expertly prepared and elegantly presented. Highly recommended.
The meal was amazing. A beautiful presentation and very tasty. Mathew was a fantastic waiter. The restaurant is very nice with a wonderful view of the gardens and water.
Jill was amazing! Best service and food I’ve had in a while!
The Sunday Brunch is by far the best in Southern Ontario!
The food is unique & well presented!
The server “Gerry” cannot be beaten anywhere, he gets to know you & your likes & dislikes! He is a reason that my wife & I frequent this brunch!
My husband, young son and I met our friends and their young daughter for dinner. We've never been to the area of Niagara-on-the-Lake before so were not familiar with the restaurants. While this restaurant seemed very formal, the other patrons were very casually dressed (some more so than others), except for the group in black tie right next to us. We did not feel out of place, but the ambiance was very formal. Our server, though helpful with meal suggestions, was relatively inappropriate and nosey in trying to figure out the family dynamics of our group. She couldn't understand if the kids were siblings and whether our friends were actually family, and she continually returned to the table asking questions and trying to determine the dynamic. It was weird and a bit uncomfortable. The kids, both being 5, were generally well-behaved, especially given the long duration of the meal. However, being 5, they were both chatty and occasionally restless b/c of sitting so long. The server at one point shushed my friend's daughter who was apparently talking too loud for her liking while she was describing to me privately the fact that the burger had a black bun and kids may not like it (which was a warning I appreciated). My friend was offended that the server said "Shush, Peanut" to her child in a stern manner; discipline is the responsibility of the parents, not the staff. And it was truly undeserved.
The food was really very good! I would recommend this restaurant only for couples/adults, not for families with children.
My wife and I brought her 83 Year old mother for breakfast. She thoroughly enjoyed the omelet and the waiter Arthur was very hospitable and gave her special attention during the course of our breakfast.
This is the second time we were at the restaurant in three weeks and will love coming back again.
Theatre. The service was slow. The server forgot to bring our water after being asked twice. And, our dinners arrived Luke warm to cool - not good.
This was the first time visiting the Tiara for Sunday Brunch. It was great! Wonderful selection. The service and food didn't disappoint. I will certainly recommend to others. The ambiance and setting overlooking the Niagara river is beautiful.
Food was exceptional. The waiter was fantastic. Overall great experience.
We were celebrating my daughter’s birthday. It was a lovely day and we dined on the patio. The food was delicious.
Buffet food selection was average and some food selections were near empty during the selection process - buffet food temperature was warm (disappointing) and lastly the the carbonated water 1 liter bottle (Perrier) shockingly priced @ $9.50 each .. as well the alcoholic beverages are overpriced
It was our 25th anniversary
We went twice, both times on OpenTable booking s, it was near the house we were staying in. The first time we arrived after a long drive and lateish (for Canada I guess), it was 8.30, very quiet and a Friday night. We had an excellent meal, and were given amuse bouches and granitas (sorbet) and roses gratis, service by two women was excellent. On the second occasion our OpenTable took some finding, the hostess plainly didn’t accept it as it has disappeared off open table together with any points I may have accrued, I specifically asked her to accept the booking rather than create a new one so I could get points. Possibly she got a bonus herself for creating a new booking. Our dining experience followed this pattern : our food was excellent as before but service was very poor. It took 30 minutes to get our first drink, and much much longer to get our meal. Our waiter referred to my friend and I as Miss, we were with my husband, she is a widow, we are all seniors, my friend and I asked him specifically to not call us Miss, we regard this as insulting, but he ignored us and continued to do so. So, really this review can be taken as 5 stars for our first evening and 3 stars for our second evening. The food was 5 stars all the time. I hesitate to recommend this restaurant for a special occasion but certainly fine for everyday dining if you can cope with the service.
Outstanding service, we were at The Queen's Landing for our tenth Wedding Anniversary, and the staff went over and above to make it a very special occasion for us. The meal was AMAZING, a bit pricey but worth it. Chef will create gluten free dishes for you if you ask your server which was so nice.
Incredible experience through and through! Rudy was our waiter and he was incredible!!! We had a wonderful time and the food was to die for!
We went to this restaurant for my daughter’s 14th birthday. There were so many flies landing on our food that our meal was ruined. We talked to two servers about this and was told that this happens because people left the door open. But we were not offered any assistance.
We will not be returning.
Excellent! Thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The salads were creative and delicious. The tenderloin is amazing. Seated with a lovely view of the river. Heavy on the selection of Niagara wines. Would be nice to see a few more moderately priced Australian/New Zealand or California wines. We will definitely be back! One of our favorite restaurants!!!!
Whole dining experience from initial greeting to leaving restaurant at the end of our meal was excellent!
Love the ambiance of the Tiara restaurant. The waitress was friendly and very efficient.
Quiet, un-noticeable, yet attentive service.......Rudy was quite good: attentive, friendly, but not intrusive. The rose a nice touch.
We went for Sunday Father's day brunch. Great selection of food. Server Arthur was so wonderful. Very attentive.
Tiara has become our "go to" place for an excellent Mothers/Fathers Day Brunch. Have always enjoyed great food and great service previously. On this most recent visit, I thought the service level had dipped a bit, though. Was kept waiting 20 minutes past our reservation time, and when we inquired as to the hold up, were told we were next. However, several more groups were seated ahead of us, and when our turn finally came, we were uncerimoniously "herded" to the dining room with three other families, rather than taken to our seats individually. We also found the table service much less attentive than previous visits, and were left to linger with empty water glasses for quite a while until we finally had to ask for refills. Food and ambiance are still great, would just like to see the service levels maintained! The devil is in the details...
I have been here a few times for Brunch and it is outstanding, 5 stars all the way. Service inside is fabulous!! However, I was there for breakfast and if it was my first time there I would never go back. The food was cold and you had to wait awhile for someone to fill up the buffet items. We found a piece of pottery in our eggs and reported it to a waitress. No manager ever came out to speak with us, our server was miserable and when he brought the bill he put it down and said ' I took one of the buffets off the bill.'....no apology for this mishap, hope you will come back, how was everything else.....as bad as it was I would definitely recommend having BRUNCH there and eat in the dining room not the patio as I feel service is much better inside. The brunch selection is much better and the food has always been great.
Really enjoyed going here with my wife for our anniversary. With the little bit of knowledge, Rudy, our waiter, made sure to make sure it was an exceptional experience. The food was delicious and prompt.
If Tiara is representative of the rest of dining in Niagara-on-the-Lake, I'll be sure to be back.
We booked our reservations months ahead based on the many most recommended restaurants in N-O-T-L Tiara appears on. The experience did not live up to the promise to say the least. The approach to the restaurant was tired. The paint on the walls of Queen's Landing was chipped and the decor was dated. We had arrived early and were asked to wait for the dining room to open in the adjacent bar. The game on the television seemed to mesmerize our server to the point that he forgot our order, despite the bar being essentially empty. After waiting 20-minutes for our drinks we reminded the bar of our order and were disappointed that the staff became so consumed with assigning blame to one another that they wasted another 10-minutes to deliver our drinks . Their delay made us more than 15-minutes late for our dinner reservation. The restaurant has a great view but front-row seats to the view were for tables of two only and we were a party of four. The restaurant staff were pleasant but their uniforms weren't crisp as one would expect at a restaurant of this standing. Our party had different meals but all agreed the food was just average - not what you'd expect for a meal costing almost $100/person. Out of a full weekend visit to N-O-T-L, including tickets to Shaw, our party was in agreement that this meal was the biggest disappointment. Try the Prince of Wales Hotel in N-O-T-L for better ambiance, food, and service (owned by the same company).
Not quite up to the excellent experience we had there last year, sorry to say.
Brought my wife to the Tiara restaurant for her birthday. Ambiance was perfect. Our appetizers and entrees were fantastic. However, the dessert options were lacking.
