Tidepools - Grand Hyatt Kauai
On Honeymoon asked for good seats. Got waterfall which normally be great. However wedding this evening, so would’ve preferred different spot, I didn’t ask though.
Most importantly Drinks kinda sucked and fish dinners overpriced and not as tasty as Previous night at Keoki’s Paradise. If you like Good Food n tasty drinks with Da Kin local service for less money go to Keoki’s Paradise.
We have been to Tidepools many times in the past and we loved it then!
However, it’s sadly changed. The lighting is not that great now, food was okay, they don’t even offer a chicken option for an entree. It’s such a cool place, but they could use some lively music, better lighting, better service, better food.
It has so much potential to be great again.
It was our anniversary and they missed it. We did not even get a cake with Happy Anniversary on it like the couple next to us.
Everything about this experience was exceptional. The food was amazing. The ambiance was beautiful. The koi were awesome. It was a great night out for our 23rd anniversary.
The restaurant setting was wonderful. Our waiter was very attentive as well as the support staff assisting. Food was excellent!
This beautiful open to the gentle breeze restaurant is the perfect island flavor romantic setting for a wonderful meal.
My wife found 3 bones in the fish they served us. They did not offer to take anything off the cost of the meal and in fact seemed to find some amusement with the whole thing. Very disappointing meal for our 10th wedding anniversary. Don’t waste your time here.
Tidepools is one of our favorite places. This time, the fish was over cooked and service was lacking.
Great food and great ambiance! All the menu items were well explained by the staff. The food pairing were just plain awesome!
The food was wonderful...cooked to perfection.
Main course was amazing The Caesar Salad was bland. But the main course covered for it and then some.
Tidepools was the perfect place to celebrate our Anniversary. The staff was friendly, professional, and accommodating, the food was outstanding, and the ambiance was fun and romantic. We highly recommend it!
Mildly disappointing; lacked attention to detail and energy. The food was okay - filet over-cooked, etc.
Came here 22 years ago and it’s still as beautiful as then!
Les was great! We really enjoyed his service and our meals!
Food outstanding, server Rob was exceptional. Most romantic place.
Great Post Kauai Marathon dinner!
Our waiter Derek was terrific. The people were very friendly. At first we were seared at a table that was in the middle of the room under a spotlight. Fortunately they moved us to a better location.
Food was great. Dallas was an excellent waiter he made sure we had a cocktail and the food came out quickly.
PRESENTATION WAS LOVELY, SERVICE WAS GOOD, WOMAN WHO SEATED US WAS GRUFF AND NOT FRIENDLY. ALL IN ALL ABOUT WHAT WE EXPECTED, AS WE LIVE IN KALAHEO AND HAVE BEEN TO TIDEPOOLS MANY TIMES---
Wonderful dining experience, very romantic sitting right over the large koi pond. Food was excellent and our waitress Wilma was very good.
The restaurant is beautiful. Great atmosphere. Service was decent. Octopus appetizer was delicious. My husband and I both got surf and turf. We both ordered the filet. He ordered scallops with his, and I ordered shrimp with mine. Both of our entrees were EXTREMELY salty. It was extremely expensive and we did not enjoy it at all because of how salty it was. Not worth the money. We were disappointed.
Food was pretty good. Location and atmosphere was excellent.
Food was excellent! The service was fabulous also!
The staff was friendly. I don't think the menu has enough variety and it was very expensive. My teenage son couldn't find anything he that sounded appealing. The food was good but not worth the hefty price.
The ambiance was beautiful! Food was great, however just a little pricey. Worth it!
We have eaten here 5-6 times. Love it and will return. The ribeye was amazing! On this last trip I had the filet and was sorry. (I didn’t give them a chance to replace it, so that’s on me) that being said I would still stick with the ribeye if you go beef. The tuna was amazing as was the local catch. Wine list was great.
Food & service were exceptional. Our server Wilma was amazing. The view and ambiance perfect.
Birthday and it was great
Beautiful location at the Grand Hyatt over a Koi pond. Menu was brief because each item was well thought out and flawlessly executed.
Tidepools is conveniently located near the pool area inside the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort, surrounded by a large koi pond and waterfalls. Be sure to make a reservation, as even on a weekday during peak season it is quite busy. Compared to other resort restaurants, the prices are reasonable. The Spanish octopus appetizer was delicious. The Hawaiian Catch entree was also quite good. They have a keiki (kid) menu as well, appropriate for the little ones. With a reservation, we were shown right to our table at the selected time. Service was exceptional. I always encourage people to go to local joints when traveling, but out of the other traditional restaurants (lots of "grab and go" choices that are in a different category) at the resort and the selections via room service it was our clear favorite if we wanted to stay put.
We went for the ambiance and to see the Koi. We did anticipate high prices but the entrees were a little steep. We stuck to the appetizers and salads and topped it off with a delicious Baked Hawaiian. Overall, a good experience.
Crab cakes were super. Salmon was excellent. Very pleasant service.
We visited as part of our honeymoon.
The staff greeted us warmly and we were given a beautiful table right by the water where we could watch the fish.
There is a great selection of food and drink and the items we had were excellent!
Highly recommend, they really looked after us.
We arrived just before dusk, and the scenery was great. All the food was fantastic. I had the macadamia nut crusted mahi-mahi. Everything was cooked perfectly. It was truly an enjoyable dining experience. If I'm ever back on the island of Kauai, a return visit to Tidepools is a must
Celebrating our 25th anniversary. Had a nice view of ponds with the koi swimming around. Our meals of mahi mahi and prime ribeye were delicious. Dessert of merengue with inside of coconut, mango & passionfruit.
Gorgeous setting, professional and friendly staff and fresh, incredibly flavorful food. We were celebrating our anniversary and enjoyed every minute of this meal. The ambiance was amazing with open-air seating overlooking the pool and ocean. The staff was incredibly attentive without being overbearing. We never had to ask for anything as the staff anticipated every need. We ordered the ceviche as an appetizer along with several fresh fish dishes (which we shared) for our main courses. We highly recommend!
Incredible ambiance with great food and service
An overall great experience. The service was understated yet attentive. The food was excellent and better than most the other places we’ve tried in Kaua’i. The atmosphere was very nice. The bartender also was very good and was responsive to our requests to alter the drink recipe a bit. A very nice evening.
Magical evening food was great and Chocolate Lava cake was heavenly.
