Tidepools - Grand Hyatt Kauai
Very friendly, great food. You will want a table on the outer edge or you will not have air movement. The restaurant needs more ceiling fans!
Beautiful location over the water. Delicious food and very attentive wait staff.
Great food, great service.
Absolutely sensational Lobster dinner for my spouse, and the best filet mignon I have ever tasted. Our server was very friendly and accommodating. We were very impressed and definitely recommend for that special night out.
One of your best choices for fine dining with great atmosphere on Kauai's south shore. Tonight was a delightful dining experience with great service. Very memorable appetizers, fresh well balanced salads, and sea food main courses that get 5 stars. Cocktails and wine (nice by the glass choices, and fine selection by the bottle) are nicely balanced with favor and quality ingredients , mixed drinks are not watered down that we have experienced at some "high end" restaurants on Kauai. Don't expect bargain pricing at a Grand Hyatt, but for any special night out, it is worth a splurge. Definitely a hit and will return for our next special night out.
If you’re looking to spend a lot of money and enjoy food with family and friends this is an amazing choice. I do also have to say that the meals do take a while to be served so if your impatient here’s a warning
Tidepools is always excellent!
Great place overall! The octopus is a must have! Our waiter was amazing! Wine selection is limited to US, but the bottle of Willamette valley pinot noir we had was excellent.
Incredible food and ambiance. A must when in Kauai!!
Excellent for a special meal while on vacation. Service was excellent. Food was outstanding.
This is our fifth time dining at Tidepools and it didn’t disappoint. The atmosphere is enchanting, the food decadent and the wait staff friendly. We would highly recommend dining here.
Delicious fish! Appetizers were also amazing. Dessert was good, not as good as the other courses. Stunningly beautiful restaurant.
The atmosphere was very nice; open air restaurant in a very pretty tropical setting with koi ponds and a waterfall. However, the service from our waitress was subpar...it took about 25 minutes after we were seated to receive our drinks, she did not deliver drinks with our meal either, as we had asked. She didn't come to check to see how our meal was until we were almost finished. I ordered filet minion, and had asked for medium rare, but it was cooked medium. It was just "ok". We basically waited a full 2 hours to be served at this restaurant, which did include 1 appetizer, but no dessert. The waitress only came to our table 3 times during the whole time we were there. We were so frustrated with the lack of service that we skipped the dessert and high tailed it out of there! Pretty disappointing for a $200 meal for 2 people. The food was decent overall, but really overpriced in our opinion.
Beautiful ambiance, romantic setting. The waterfalls and koi are very pleasing to the eyes. My wife said the mahi mahi was the best she has ever had. Overall a great dining experience.
Outstanding is an understatement. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. They sat us on the water in a private hut. I requested a special table since we were celebrating my moms birthday. Service is unbelievably great! Very upscale and gorgeous. The salmon is to die for! We will definitely be going back!
Absolutely you should go to Tidepools! Would highly recommend! The ambiance, the location the food and the service! Ask for Ron and crew. Great selection and recommendations. Gentlemen, if you want to impress your ladies... this is the place to go!
The ambience, service and food was amazing. A must do when visiting Kauai!
This place was amazing. We were in Kauai for our vacation (me and my girlfriend). We were looking to do a romantic dinner somewhere, but we weren’t staying at a resort. The guidebook suggested this place as the best romantic place, and even though it was a little ways away from where we were staying, it did not disappoint.
First, we were greeted promptly and politely. We had a reservation but we requested (if possible) to sit by the water, as the place was surrounded by a beautiful pond with fish and swans. She helped us out and we got great spot where we see fish jumping in and out of the water while we enjoyed our initial drinks. (Tai Chi was amazing btw)
Next, our steak was INCREDIBLE. We had a horrible experience with BBQ at a different spot and we looking to be amazed. And we were. Super well seasoned. We ordered 12 ounce ribeye, and told the waiter we intended to share, and they even brought it out on two separate plates! We weren’t expecting that at all, so we were pleasantly surprised! We gobbled the steak down as the sunset, and it was pretty much perfect.
Lastly, desert was scrumptious as well. I got a great coffee and my girlfriend, a crazy sweets lover, got the lava cake and we both were hypnotized. Our waiter was super attentive and funny, and never let us go for long without a check-in. We are from a big city and used to superb service (fast and accurate) and we were very impressed by this place. Not bad pricing for a steakhouse either. We wish we could go every night, not just for the food but for the service and ambiance as well.
Go go go go go to Tidepools!
The food was absolutely cooked to perfection and with such delightful flavors. The ambience was perfect. The waiter was funny and personable. Would eat here again in a heartbeat.
Honeymoon and we loved it so much we went back for a second trip 👍
Great did, beautiful atmosphere
This was one of the most beautiful restaurants we visited on our vacation. The restaurant is comprised of several smaller, intimate dining rooms, set out over a koi pond. The bread service is lovely as well as the drinks. I had the Hawaiian catch (fresh catch, lobster tail, scallop, and shrimp) and my partner had the Prime Ribeye. Both were cooked perfectly, fresh, and delicious. I cannot stress enough the serene and romantic ambiance.
If I could give more than 5 stars for service I would! Unbelievable experience!!!
Exceptional food and settings, one of our favorite restaurants on Kauai
The food was great. We went to the Tidepools Restaurant twice during our recent visit to Kauai. The only criticism I have is that during our second visit, our waiter said that there was not a special of the day. He eventually said that there really was a special of the day but he didn't recommend it. I don't think that this is the appropriate way to present this to customers.
Other than that, everything else was good.
The whole experience was very nice. The food was excellent. It was expensive but it was worth it.
Disappointed in your taking prime rib off the menu. Would have given you all 5 stars otherwise.
The food was delicious, the service was outstanding and the setting was beautiful!
I was excited to go to this restaurant as it was in our hotel and was highly rated in many web searches for best restaurants on Kauai. However, I was not pleased by the fact that they charged us $15 to split a meal and no one told us there would be an up charge. We simply said we were going to split it, but did not specify the chefs do it for us. I was highly disappointed in this lack of communication which is why I gave a 3 stars, which would have been a 5 if not for this mishap.
Had dinner with my wife celebrating our 34th anniversary. Our waiter - Les - was outstanding providing information and great service. We also had a great conversation with him, initiated by us, about his father. Great guy. The food was great also. Would definitely return and recommend Tidepools.
We absolutely loved the experience of dining at Tidepools. This was our favorite meal of our stay on Kauai. It was scrumptious!
I had the special of the day (wasabi crusted ahi tuna with stuffed scallops). Unfortunately the ahi did not seem to be that days catch and it appeared that to hide this fact the kitchen applied a heavy dose of wasabi to cover this up. On the other hand the stuffed scallops were excellent. The dessert was very good as was the bread and butter.
The macadamia encrusted mahi was decent but nothing special.
The service was excellent.
Outstanding from beginning to end. Service was exceptional, atmosphere was enspiringly romantic, and the the food exceeded our expectations. After reading many reviews on Tidepools, we shallowed our expectations a bit going in, but came away with a fantastic experience. Some reviews complained about the price of the meal, but I assure you, you will pay just as much, if not more, at a lesser steak in in Tacoma, Wa. Keep up the fine work and we will most certainly be back.
We were celebrating our anniversary. The towable we got seemed to be in a walk way The worse table in the restaurant. Everything else was great. But paying the amount it cost for dinner the location did matter.
Tidepools is a wonderfully unique experience. It’s layout among the coy pond gives every table a great view. The food was magnificent. The wine was amazing. The service was utterly first class. I could not think of a better place to celebrate my daughter’s birthday! That will be a dinner we will talk about for a very long time.
The drinks were amazing and so was the food! Beautiful atmosphere.
Romantic atmosphere with delicious (though costly) dinner options and a sophisticated tranquil vibe.
Always an unforgettable experience when we come to Tidepools. One of our all time favorite places to visit! Macadamia nut Mahi Mahi with forbidden rice is out of this world.
Celebrated my birthday!
