Have been eating here for years & LOVED it; Sadly the quality of the food has taken a nosedive & the service is now horrible to match the horrible food. Food has either no seasoning or too much salt and no subtlety at all; items we ordered were either forgotten or wrong; service is inconsistent at best. Spent nearly $700 on one dinner & one lunch (needed to make sure that it wasn’t an off night & that recent reviews weren’t wrong) and sadly after more then 14 years coming here, we will not be back…very sad…

My husband and I dined at Tierra Sur last night for his 60th b-day. This was our first time at this restaurant. We enjoyed our experience very much. Jasmine, our server, was very knowledgeable about the menu options and made great suggestions! Her service was wonderful and made my husband's b-day celebration very special. Jasmine was assisted by Angel, who was also very helpful! Both Jasmine and Angel were extremely professional and made our first experience there quite lovely. We were also greeted by Robert, the manager, who came over to our table a few times to wish my husband a happy b-day and to make sure we had everything we needed. If you're looking for a high-class place to go, this place fits the bill!

Our first visit. Server was very attentive and spent time answering questions and telling unique stories about the Herzog wine brand. Manager stopped by at the beginning and end of our meal to make sure all went well. Carrot curry soup, salmon mosaic, brûlée lemon cake - chef kiss! Will return for tour and wine tasting experience.

Very inviting dining room and outdoor terrace, with friendly helpful service. The wine selection is excellent. Great selections on the lunch menu, with enough to choose from. The food was prepared nicely, presented beautifully, and delicious. Very nice experience. Don’t miss walking around upstairs to see the working winery, cask room and bottling line, and interesting information about the wine making process, the source of their grapes, and the interesting history of this winery.

Dining at Tierra Sur is the total experience-excellent cuisine, delightful ambience, but best of all is the service. The waiters are super nice, extremely capable, and make the whole experience such a warm and enjoyable experience. Our waiter, Vincent, is the best!

My husband and I live in Los Angeles and celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary at Tierra Sur with a wine tasting followed by dinner. The staff for both the wine tasting and dinner were very attentive and professional. We were advised to allow about 1.5 hours for the wine tasting. The timing was perfect and we were able to enjoy the wine and the appetizers (which obviously need to be ordered separately) in a relaxed atmosphere. Our waitress was very attentive but not pushy! For dinner we had asked for outdoor seating which was more like a covered terrace adjacent to the dinning room. We were the only ones there at the time so it was obviously quiet. The appetizers and the entrees were all delicious. If we happen to be in the Oxnard area again we'd definitely go back.

First time having lunch there. The sandwiches were great and creative. The fries were done to perfection and brought to the table immediately from the fryer. Wonderful experience. No need for dinner, we were full the rest of the day.

Everything was wonderful. We coordinated a wine tasting first and then had lunch. The food was so delicious - and abundant. We have enough leftovers for another lunch! I highly recommend the garlic fries just to munch on! The service was great - attentive but not in-your-face. Robert, the restaurant manager, was wonderful and made sure we had everything we wanted. This was not our fist time wine tasting at Herzog and having lunch at Tierra Sur. And we will be back!!

We really enjoyed our dinner at Terra Sue. The service was unparalleled! The only complaint was the entree we ordered which was the spare ribs was a little skimpy and not filling. It came with only 2 small pieces od breaded ribs .. they were on thre small side and not very filling ..they tasted nice but for $33 the dish should have had more meat on it. Other than that the steak was grilled to perfection and our moji mint drink was delectable! We really enjoyed our night out and would recommend your restaurant!

When we got there, no host/hostess. The waitress probably knew we are her customers, so she greeted us. She acted a bit over energetic for the introduction. During the order process, you could tell she tried to push for more orders even we ordered enough expensive food. The food was so expensive, however the qualify doesn't match the price. My dinner dish halibut was uneatable (my opinion), the fish steak was big, but the taste was just unacceptable. I was quite shocked because from time to time we dine out, this was the worst experience. Some of the waiters were so laud. The ambiance definitely does not match the price tags. You could tell that the waitress was aiming the tips only, which was arbitrary (set by the restaurant, wow!). We told her we are tourists, on our way out, she turned her face away and pretended not noticing that we are leaving. No good bye, no thanks for coming, both she and the host. Now I highly suspect where is the good rating on yelp from.

Alll dinners were Caucasian and kept being seated in the main room while we the only two Latina were seated aside in a separated room where nobody was seated at all. It felt weird as I watched this pattern unfold. . The staff was polite and did their jobs. The food was not tasteful and did not wowed me for 600 dollars. The portions were too big for some courses which is not usual with fine dinning. The wine pairing was good though, and our last dish was salty, the dessert was not good and I’m an easy sale with sugar. I wouldn’t come back the chef needs to improve his skills We did not say anything when asked how we liked it just to avoid coming across as rude.

An interesting dinning experience. However, the meals are so pricey that I could not come to the restaurant very often. All the choices were very expensive and I was not able to order a glass of prosecco because it was $24 per glass. Ouch.

My husband and I enjoyed our dinner at Tierra Sur. We observe Jewish Dietary Laws (Kosher), so to have a meal meal in a fine dining establishment was a rare treat for us. The restaurant is pricey, and may be beyond reach of some of your readers, but we had expected that based upon reports from friends who had eaten there. Due to the cost, I am not sure we'd be able to eat there often, but the dinner was truly a treat. I enjoyed a glass of fine Herzog Legacy rose wine with my meal. The ambiance was lovely, and our waiter, Darren was both helpful and pleasant. We highly recommend Tierra Sur for those interested in a delicious fine (Kosher) dining experience.

The ambiance and food were excellent as usual. We drive an hour to go eat at Tierra Sur because we can have a nice adult kosher meal in a quiet environment with top notch service. The only issue we had last night was it took a while to get our food between courses so we ended up eating way too much bread. Also, the wait staff never asked us if we wanted anything to drink other than water which is strange in a wine tasting environment. We are happy that it's no longer a prix fixe menu so we could order just what we wanted to eat rather than 4 courses.
