Food was mediocre. The brunch selection was limited. The only thing good was the fact that the mimosas were reasonably priced after the initial drink. If you are a swine type of person then the sausage patties are what you want to order. Also when ordering the potatoes, be sure you tell them not to over cook them.
We’ve been here several times. Foods always good and the preparation is careful and creative. Areas that could be improved. If it weren’t for the fact that they have a wide selection of wines for sale the choice for wines by the glass is rather limited. The other: the place is just too loud and it wasn’t even full not sure what it is but it’s hard to have a conversation. Lastly, the place is a bit dim and the ceiling light right above us wasn’t working.
Service wasn't up to par this visit. Our server was slow and we had to ask for bread three times; it was finally brought to the table as we finished our entree. A large party nearby was also extra loud, making it nearly impossible for us to have a normal conversation. Overall the food is very good.
Wife and I loved it. We did not know restaurant was in a hotel. When we arrived, we gave each other a quizzical look and said 'what the heck' and went for it. We absolutely loved the dinner. Only way we knew we were in a hotel was that the restrooms were off the lobby. We will be back!
Friendly wait staff. Marginal food. Do yourself a favor and find some other place to eat.
A friend and I met at Toasted Oak and our dinner was amazing! We had Matt as our waiter and he was fantastic! He was attentive and so helpful! We will definitely be returning!
We had a reservation but wasn’t seated for about 15-minutes. I was very surprised they didn’t have a breakfast meat that wasn’t pork. Our order was messed up but they corrected it quickly. The potatoes were good & the French toast was tasty. Overall their brunch menu was very limited & not many options I wont be back
Service was wonderful. The food, particularly the pate with bacon jam and cheese plate was phenomenal. Couldn’t have asked for a better dinner.
Limited menu; service was marginal. Charged my friend $3 more for a different vegetable (squash) because she couldn’t eat fries (aren’t they both vegetables?). Should have been just a substitution. Waited forever to order and forever to get our bill. Restaurant was not busy at all, either, many empty tables.
Room was noisy, we moved tables and after awhile it quieted a bit.
Food was somewhat unique, the whitefish salad was maybe 2 oz and the bread was 4 large pieces.
The Scottish Salmon was average, but the rice with Hungarian peppers was different.
Service was fine, though the server seemed busy.
Did not add to a fifty dollar meal!
Excellent service and food. Next time we will ask to sit in the room with the fireplace.
I love the Brunch at Toasted Oak, it is one of my favorites. With that being said I took my friend for lunch for her Birthday thinking it would be a good place for a special occasion. This is the first time I have experienced bad service here, but I experienced bad service. Our server was not the least bit attentive. My friend arrived before me so I let the Hostess know that we were celebrating a Birthday and to PLEASE let our server know. Nothing was ever said or acknowledged. Our food was good but it did not make up for the bad service.
Great ambiance, okay service, and food that is not as good as it should be for the price.
Great dinner and service. Food was fabulous!
I took the guy I’m dating, here for his Birthday! We are both foodies. He loved every minute of it. Our server was phenomenal, gave us our space but was attentive. She did something so special at the end of the night. I asked if she could bring out a birthday candle with the cake. She brought out two classes of champagne as well. Made the night even better for the surprise. We will deff be back :)
Love this place. Only disappointment this time was they were out of a few things on the menu. The server had to come back to me two different times to change my order because they did not have what I ordered.
Really wanted to like this place, really interesting ambiance and could be a regular gathering place amongst my crowd, but the food is so disappointing. Prices are also very expensive, which I don't mind paying if the quality is warranted. It does not. Went for lunch in the marketplace section twice in one month, had a Muffuletta sandwich that was boring, tasted overly strong of smoked deli meat, with a very hard, thick, crusty bread making it extremely difficult to eat (stopped eating after half even tho I was still hungry). Second visit, tried to order risotto but kitchen was out. Ordered avocado toast & broccoli cheese soup instead. Avocado was not seasoned and quite bland, toast was more like bread (mushy). Also received the wrong soup but ate it anyway because it was really salty so it helped the bland avocado toast. Friend ordered smoked sausage mac & cheese which tasted solely of excess smoke & salt. (And I like my salt!) Saving grace here is the ambiance and the bartenders/hostesses who were very gracious and kind people during both visits!
Great food great service, worth the price. We have eaten here several times and always great
While the service was good, the restaurant was disappointing. The salad was small, wilted and underdressed. Pasta was undercooked, not even al dente (although the sauce was good). One pasta portion was a perfect size—the other was very small. But the real disappointment was the side of crispy potatoes. These were not crispy at all but boiled and bordering on soggy. They were saturated with an unidentifiable sauce and pickled shallots that did not taste right at all. The server was very thoughtful and took that off our bill. Hopefully it was just an off night but it was unfortunate for us.
We were 1 of 3 tables at the time. We waited an extremely long time for what was disappointing food. Omelette was very sloppy. Toast Cold. Our server never got us refills. Very disappointed
Excellent food! Servers are inattentive and preoccupied with who knows what. I guess is that there are no owners, partners, or strong managers actively engaged in the service side.
Excellent food as alwaus
Had the grilled eggplant. Tiny portion. Service not good. Waited long time for entrees and had to inquire with waitress where they were. Had to skip dessert because frankly tired of waiting. Also, had asked for a table by the fireplace, of which there were many. Manager said they were all reserved. Nearly an hour later, they were still empty.
Hotel restaurant was just OK. Staff super friendly and efficient. Food good but pretentious. Trying to find my lamb saddle' beneath the salad was amusing. What I did eat was very good but 2 medallions of lamb was poor value. A good choice of wine and good value. Fellow diner said fish dish was not good. Overall good food but not good value. Bill came to about $80 per head including service. So maybe there are other choices.
Overall really good. Food, service, and drinks all great. It was, however, a bit loud and hard to hear the person I was with but I could hear all of the conversations around me.
Sadly disappointed in their very limited breakfast menu at9:30am.
We will definitely be back! Great food, service, and atmosphere!
The restaurant was very noisy in all 3 rooms. It was impossible to conduct a conversation at a normal level , even with the person beside me. We decided to leave after one drink and didn’t order dinner at all.
Service created a special atmosphere for trying new foods. Recommend it to anyone!!
Love this place. Food is always great. I was a little disappointed with the cocktails. I asked to substitute tequila for mezcal in a Paloma but was told the drinks were pre made. That was a little disappointing. But, I found something else and all was well.
Cute place , but we waited forever for our food despite it not being very busy.
Toasted Oak was a pleasant surprise. It's in the Renaissance Hotel, but doesn't feel like a hotel restaurant. The food was very good and creatively prepared with really fresh ingredients. We had the Whitefish spread, Lamb Tartare and Avocado Toast as appetizers and the Lamb Saddle for dinner.
Wine choices were very good, but wines by the glass were rather pricey, but on par for a finer restaurant.
Service was rather disappointing. Our server took a long time to take our drink order and it took 10-15 minutes for our drinks to arrive. She didn't explain the menu or any specials, until we asked her for the information. With one of our appetizers, we ran out of the toasts and she said she'd bring us more. The toasts arrive AFTER our main dish arrived. We ordered a glass of wine to enjoy with our main meal and, again, the glasses arrived 10 minutes after our main dish arrived.
Overall, the food is quite good- flavorful and creative. The ambiance is nice, but the acoustics are very loud. They also need to work on their service- quite lacking.
Great cocktails and wine selection. Live the appetizer options.
I hadn’t heard of Toasted Oak before but I was meeting a friend halfway between our houses and this location was pretty perfect so we tried it. The menu was small so we tried a few things, it was all very good although it was definitely more than we would have normally spent on a random get-together. I was a bit disappointed in the charcuterie board and the wine menu was smaller than expected but the food and the service was pretty great.
As always, very happy with our dining experience at Toasted Oaks. Especially happy this time as they were able to hold the table we requested and that really made our evening extra special.
Went to Toasted Oak for brunch on Sunday and had a great experience. Food is wonderful and the prices are very reasonable. Darrel is the best server there and he always takes very good care of us, which is one of the reasons we keep going back. Well, him and the mimosas of course ;)
I work at a different hotel and I've started recommending our guests try Toasted. Always get thanked for a great recommendation.
Too pricey, small portions
Not a lot of vegan options
Good outdoor seating
Our server was awesome. The scenery and overall vibe was very nice. Food was delicious. We'll definitely be back.
Food and atmosphere were great. Food took a little longer to arrive than normal due to high volume Father’s Day. Waiter was very attentive, but not too much, and kept us informed on food delay.
