As many fond memories that I have of Tojo’s this will be my last visit. The quality of the sashimi is no longer there and the restaurant is now more performance and presentation than freshness and taste. For this price point you can find much better in Vancouver.

I am always surprised at how good Tojo's is still after so many years being open in Vancouver. The quality never dips and every bite is a treat to taste. It its expensive but certainly nowhere near the most expensive room in town but I would rather dine at Tojo's than any of the other top rooms in Vancouver. We will be back again soon.

We had the special opportunity to sit at Chef Tojo’s Sushi Bar. The dining experience was unbelievable. Chef gave us entrees that we would have never have again. I had the best sushi of my life.

I cannot believe that I got to dine in the presence of Tojo himself, inventor of every ubiquitous sushi roll across BC sushi restaurants. This was an unforgettable culinary experience and I would recommend this restaurant to everybody who has the chance to go! In addition to outstanding food, the servers were excellent (especially the gusto with which they sing Happy Birthday to guests--it's worth going on your birthday just for that singular experience).

After being unable to travel to Vancouver for over two years, our return to Tojo's was not a disappointment -- not in the least. We made a reservation for four of us to sit at the sushi bar for the exclusive “Omakase” service, and it was an all round outstanding experience -- very expensive, but fantastic. The chef will ask what you like and do not like, and will design a unique selection of Japanese-inspired lovally-fresh delights that you will not find anywhere else in the world. If you are an adventurous foodie, this is a life-experience not to be missed -- if you can afford it. (Save up. It is worth it!) For a somewhat less expensive night out, reserve a table to order off of their extensive menu -- the plates we saw going out from the sushi bar to the tables looked spectacular -- their food is a work of art.

I always loved Tojo's. This time it was my birthday diner that I had to wait through two years of COVID pandemic. I was happy to be there finally, and came home a lot happier. Food was fantastic as always. The celebration was highlighted by wonderful young server belting out almost operatic rendition of Happy Birthday. Thank you for memorable birthday!

Nothing like the "hype" led me to believe in this overall experience. We were one of the first patrons in the restaurants and given very good to almost "obnoxious" service. Tojo was there and walked around us but did not stop by our table to greet or talk to us. As a previous restaurant owner in Vancouver (Carlos 'n' Buds), I do understand the need for quality control and making your customer feel welcome within your establishment. We felt that we were "outsiders" and NOT part of the "it" crowd who were obviously being fawned over. This our first visit to your restaurant and will be our last. After dining in Jose Andre's restaurant, "Bazaar Meat" in Las Vegas just last month, your restaurant has a lot of work to do to justify the large price tag for your food and beverages.

There is nothing special about the food here. You can have the same quality of food at another high-end Japanese restaurant for half the price. The service is not fine dining service, there were no hot towels to clean your hands, and you get a little kind of plastic eating tray instead of a placemat. The whole vibe isn't fine dining, only the price tag is.

We went to Tojo for date night and really enjoyed our first time experience. We were a little early but seated right away. Everything was delicious and the presentation absolutely beautiful. It’s hard to pick any one stand out part of the evening, perhaps the drinks that went down way to easy or the sublime crème brûlée that came at the end. In any case highly recommended and one of our new local go to’s

The food was excellent and the service was superb! Our server was funny and informative, and everyone was very nice and attentive. I went with 5 other guests, it was all their first time there, and they were so happy with everything, food, atmosphere, service. We will be sure to go back again!

Seriously not sure what all the hype was about. Service was very poor. They were either in your face every second , or you never saw them for 30 minutes. Food took a very long time to arrive and it wasn't that busy. Rolls fell apart. I've honestly had better tasting sushi sashimi, etc at many other locations in town. Perhaps ifyou go for the full $500 tasting chefs special menu you get something great, but if you just order off their ala carte menu its pretty mediocre with horrible service.

Absolutely top notch sushi and sashimi, the sushi rice is perfect and the fish excellent - fresh and sliced by experts. We tried the awabi starter and it was breathtaking. Tojo’s is expensive but worth it.
