Because the next day T B is closing for renovations, many items were not available. What we specifically came to eat, the ribs, were out. So I decided to try something new, the chicken tortilla soup. Although the broth was very good, there were only 4 extremely small pieces of chicken and 4 small kernels of corn. I ordered the large bowl which was not filled, so very very disappointed. My ahi poke, which I normally get was way too much avocado, hardly any ahi and the taro chips were burnt and stale. Wish we had followed our gut instinct and left before ordering. I will go back after renovating, because in the past we were very pleased with our meals. But for the $$$ we spent this should’ve been an excellent meal. I hope they continue with live entertainment as that was the only highlight to our meal. Everyone in the restaurant singing along to songs was a really great memory.

Tommy Bahama Restaurant had an incredible atmosphere, great decor and terrific music. Service was attentive, but not bothersome. Food quality was where TB's did not meet expectations, especially for the price. Appetizers were acceptable; poke and goat cheese. Goat cheese was exceptional. Meals were ok. Macadamia crusted Mahi Mahi: stir fry good. Portions of fish small. Shrimp and scallops: 3 small shrimp and 3 sea scallops. Scallops were cooked, but not seared as expected or suggested. Kona Coffee crusted ribeye: had the chew of NY strip. Sides of mashed potatoes came out cold and so did broccoli. Both were heavily seasoned with rosemary. Server tried to make- up by bringing new sides, but still no fully cooked and too much seasoning. To make-up TB's did comp an appetizer, and we will try the restaurant again.

We love the food here and this time was no exception. Had coconut shrimp, fried asparagus and scallop sliders. Tried the lobster risotto which was yummy. Noise level was particularly high, especially when the musician was playing (although he was good!)

We had a fantastic dinner experience this week. Noe was our server and she was delightful. We ordered the drink she recommended - the Mango Nada, which was a great recommendation. For our meal- we shared a few items and she offered to split into two plates which was so nice. Food was delish and a great experience overall! Tommy Bahama cafe is always very consistent and fun. The live music is always a bonus too!

Trixie was our server and she was outstanding and took pictures for us. Dan the manager stopped by to check in as well. The service was only exceeded by the good. Coconut crusted crab cakes, frozen mai tais, creole shrimp and pasta, and Thai shrimp and scallops. Dessert was amazing too!

We love this location, we try to drive up from Kona at least once a month! The Coconut Shrimp and Filet Mignon are always a hit however we do occasionally change to the Baby Back Ribs and Macadamia Nut Crusted Fresh Catch. We live on-island. TB usually is our go-to when guests are in town, but this time was a disappointment. Several weeks before, we'd reserved 5 outside for a Tuesday night, so we did not expect to wait 20 minutes for a table, likely because we'd asked the lanai. As we waited, the hostess kept seating walk-ins, two- and four-tops inside. The place was jammed. When she eventually seated us, we were not on the lanai but in the far-right doorway to it. This area is like being in a wind tunnel, and we were assaulted by overhead fans and stiff breezes. My daughter's hair was blowing. My daughter-in-law was freezing, and even the males were uncomfortable. My husband is a former military officer, so he refuses to change seats once sat; something about completing a mission (LOL) so I went to the front. The hostess said she'd seat us after she returned from seating others, which was fine. She was very sweet and hospitable. However, the male manager came over and asked what I needed. He snapped that we'd have to wait for another table. I told him we'd already waited 20 minutes, and we'd had a reservation. He gave me lip about, "Everyone in here has a reservation." I wanted to say, "Well, that's definitely not true," but he was the patronizing type, so I let him be "machismo." He didn't bother looking at my reservation request, even when I gave him my name, but told me to return to our first table and wait. We would be called. Not long after, he came to get us and asked if "outside is okay." Well, that was what we'd reserved weeks ago. That table was perfection. No wind tunnel. Our server Jenise was FABULOUS and so helpful. Food-wise, however, the meal was not up to TB standards. Everything seemed quite bland and our guests remarked that the meal lacked flavor, that is except for the baby back ribs, which were very spicy. Overall, this was our first major disappointment at TB, especially the manager's patronizing attitude. Sadly, this means we will hesitate before going back.

Disappointed with this location. We have been to several other locations and have always enjoyed the experience. This location lacks flavor with the food and pricing is not conducive with service or quality.

Food was outstanding, server was fabulous, but the restaurant had very dirty ceiling fans on in a direction that prevented circulation down towards guests. The corners of the restaurant are boxed in and stuffy and it was uncomfortable to enjoy the dinner. There were also very limited vegetarian dishes. Generally, the outdoor seating looked very nice for sunset or later.

Food was excellent, service was great. We requested a patio seat with a reservation and they wouldn’t accomodate it. That was a little bit disappointing as it was my wife and I 5 year anniversary. Also, for being a pretty fancy restaurant the music was much louder than it should have been. Overall was a pleasant experience though.

Our server, Jessica, was knowledgeable and helpful. The meal was tasty and well prepared. The food and beverages seemed a touch overpriced, even for Hawaii. For example, they have a 22 oz local beer for $25. Another local establishment has that same beer on their menu for $16. The noise level was a bit high, then got higher with some live music. Not the worst, not the best either.

Great Mai Tai. Burgers were just average; asked to fully cook the keiki burgers and they were still quite pink. I had their special big island burger and the buns weren’t $26 burger buns. A little dry so the buns were hard to bite into. Crab cakes and mashed potatoes: good. Mahi mahi tacos: flavorful and good. Wedge salad: average. I was expecting cold iceberg lettuce but it came out with butter lettuce. Maybe I wasn’t paying attention to the description. Coconut shrimp: good. Well cooked. Crispy outside and juicy inside. Nice pairing with the slaw.

The fresh bread they bring to the table is wonderful. We had salads for lunch and they were excellent: the Crab and Avocado Salad and the Grilled Chicken and Mango salad. Excellent salads that we would order again.

The Crab Cakes entree was excellent. Would definitely order it again. The Thai Shrimp and Scallop dish was very minimal on flavor and just okay.
